II. A Human

"Psst, yugyeom!" Jungkook hissed as he hid behind the backdoor of the class. Well, you want to know what Jungkook is doing outside the class and why he is not inside the class? 

The answer is that he is not late. He is extremely fucking late. He is so late that the lecture is almost over now. Not that he cares about the lecture because the professor Mr. Yang, who is an owl hybrid, is a very close-minded person. In his opinion, his "species" had no right to come to the class or even have an education. 

But it's not like he ever minds his opinion. He knows how to shut the useless thing out. So he is fine with it. There is only 0.1% of the population who doesn't mind his existence and just mind their business. His hiding outside of the class because of the scolding of Mr. Yang is not the reason. But it's more of Mrs. Kang. The dean of the College. A tiger hybrid with the most terrifying aura he ever encountered. 

She is the reason why he is here. In her opinion him being in college can bring her college to the dust but his parents had requested her to give him admission. As he had golden potential to do some good things in his life. His father Mr. Jeon had some type of debt With her which she paid by giving him admission to her college. 

At first, Mrs. Kang was very cautious and asked if he had some bad intentions for the future. But to her surprise he had none. He just wants to be a photographer and wants to give his parents the good life they deserve. 

Because that's what they should be having instead of doing multiple jobs in a day. If it was not for him, they would have stolen their chances to live a comfortable life. But that's a story for another day. Right now he has something else to face, which is Mrs. Kang.

He bites his lips as a habit that he has grown since his childhood. It's out of nervousness. And currently, his "Kookie nervous Bar"  as Jaehyun named it is hitting perfectly 100. He again glanced at Yugyeom who was sitting in the last row with his head down and jungkook is sure that he is sleeping. 

"Fuck you yug." Jungkook regrets not kicking yugyeom yesterday when he had the chance yesterday. He nervously glanced at the classroom for Jaehyun but unfortunately didn't find the latter. Just as he was about to give up, the front door of the classroom opened.

The whole class started whispering loudly as they saw something very special. From this direction, it's difficult for Jungkook to see what's happening but instead of sulking over it, he celebrated happily. 

"Yes!" He cheered happily as he finally found the chance to avoid the wrath of Mrs. Kang.  He looked at the empty corridor making sure that no one sees him before humming in satisfaction and slowly crawling inside the classroom. 

"One two three. And stop. One two three and stop." He instructed himself as he crawled three steps before so no one could notice him. He was so focused on the counting and his not-so-far seat that he failed to notice the apparent silence which surrounded the classroom. 

Apparently, one of his classmates took note of his existence when he crawled silently inside the class. He elbowed his friend slightly, whose eyes were fixed on the front of the class and a dreamy smile playing on his lips. 

"Psst, minho!" His friend hissed when the other didn't give him the attention. He narrowed his eyes in irritation and elbowed the other a little hard. 

"Ow! What the fuck rei!?" Minho said annoyedly as he rubbed the spot where rei had elbowed him but his annoyance turned into confusion when he saw rei pointing behind them. He moved his attention behind and all the previous annoyance and confusion vanished in the air as he took the scene in front of him.

He snickered quietly as he tapped on the shoulder of the other of his friends and just like that the attention of the whole class shifted to Jungkook as they all watched him crawling to his seat. Some were secretly making videos too. 

But our dear oh-so-naive jungkook doesn't seem to notice it as he continues crawling towards his seat. "Just a little more Jungkook! Just a little more! You are almost- " 

"Everyone please give a big applause to Mr. Jeon for finally joining us." he was almost there when a sharp voice resounded in the classroom making him yelp as he jolted so hard that he bumped his head on the floor. Oh. Fuck. It's Mrs. Kang's voice. 

"Fuck, fuck fuck." He wants to bury himself in the ground right now. Shit. He thought he could make it to his seat right but of course, his luck had messed up. 

He slowly raised his head from the ground and looked around the class who was looking at him with an unhidden mirth in their eyes and big smiles on their face as if they found something very funny. And he slowly started to realize that it was not his luck who had messed up but rather it was his shitty classmate who likes to make his day as hard as possible. 

 "I hope you all choked on your dinner." He thought angrily when his eyes landed on yugyeom who seemed to wake up from his nap by Mrs. Kang's voice. He confusedly glanced around the class until his eyes landed on Jungkook who gave him a sad pout. Yugyeom's eyes widened at the state of his best friend as he took not more than a second before standing up from his seat and running towards jungkook. 

"Kooks?! What happened? Why are you on the floor?" Yugyeom asked worriedly as helped his best friend to stand, dusting off the little dirt from his clothes. 

"Because that's where he belongs, wolf boy!" Minho yelled sarcastically and the whole class laughed at the comment, seemingly having fun in teasing the human. 

Yugyeom feels anger boiling in his body as he hears the comment about his best friend who was nothing but the nicest person ever he encountered. 

"Why you-" yugyeom begins only to be cut off by jungkook placing his hands on his chest, looking at him pleadingly. 

"Please not now," Jungkook says in a small voice. Yugyeom looked at his best friend with confused eyes wondering why he even stopped him. But Jungkook just looked at him with pleading eyes. He sighed and continued to help Jungkook when the comment from behind him stopped him.

"Tsk. What a useless thing. Why is he even alive if he is not going to be of any use?" 

Yugyeom feels his whole body going rigid. A venomous growl escaped his throat. He felt Jungkook stiffen in his arms but his whole focus was on the comment that someone made behind him. He slowly turned towards the crowd who were too shocked to say something. Yugyeom's eyes were in the deep shade of Golden as he glared dangerously at all of them. He bared his sharp canines as he felt his nails growing out. 

"What did you say?" He said dangerously slowly, as he slid out of Jungkook's arms and marched towards where the other students were sitting. Some of them backed away in fear, probably the prey ones but those who were predators stood up as their eyes were glowing, seemingly getting offended that someone was trying to offend their dominance. 

Yugyeom mentally scoffed. "Fucking pricks." He thought bitterly. He thought that at least hybrids will not be so aggressive and selfish as humans. But he was wrong. Yes. You heard it right. He hates humans too. He hates from his whole heart. But jungkook is an exception. 

Jungkook. His best friend, who always put his family and his friends above anyone else. His kookie who is so nice that it hurts his heart that someone can hurt him. That someone wants his kookie to die. His kookie who gave him his part of bread when his lunch is stolen by some bullies. At that time Jungkook was like some heaven-send Angel who was specially sent to the earth for  Yugyeom so he could save him from the misery he was facing at that time. 

And that was the time yugyeom promised himself that he will do anything to protect this boy. If it means killing someone then so be it. 

"Repeat what you said." He growled. The alpha voice completely replaced his previous voice. The other predators growled lowly in warning while the prey simply whimpered in fear.  

"Yugyeom- '' The alarmed voice of Jungkook said but he turned it off. Just when he was about to reach minho who was growling at him too, someone grabbed his shoulder and pulled him back roughly. He was about to growl at the person when the hand on his shoulder moved to his neck and squeezed it tightly. 

"Stop." A deep razor-like voice says near his ear and now he realizes that he was surrounded by other alpha pheromones. Yugyeom growled but it was not as strong as before. 

He turned around and the first thing he met was the Red sharp eyes. He feels his heart beating faster because he knows who he is encountering. "Pureblood." His mind supplied helpfully. 

His eyes met Jungkook's wide panicked eyes as he looked over the man's shoulder. A wet sheen of tears covered his eyes and his lips trembled uncontrollably. He looked so close to tears and it was like the wave of reality finally hit yugyeom making him realize where he is and what he was about to do. He was about to say something when the voice of  Mrs. Kang cut through the silence. 

"And I think it's enough Mr. Kim." Mrs. Kang said. The hand on his neck loosened a little as they were cautious that he will again lose his control and he wanna scoffed very loudly. Mrs. Kang noticed the hand on his neck and nodded behind him and the hand on his neck completely pulled away. 

He sighed in relief but the relief didn't last long as Mrs. Kang said and this time with more sharpness on it making not only him but all the classmates of his to stand straighter. 

"This is unexpectable."  Mrs. Kang said she glared at everyone slowly. 

"I am so ashamed of you all. Not only do you all try to exploit a student but you also tried to attempt a physical fight. And most importantly you decided to do it when you are on the university grounds." She stopped her scolding mid-way as she noticed some students cowering back. "I don't care what you all do. But may I remind you that you all are like an asset to this university, something happening to you will cause losses to my university which I will not accept. So, next time I see this act repeating, I assure you that we will not be talking like we are doing right now. Understood?. She noticed how the students only murmured and she narrowed her eyes in warning before saying again but this time she had that alpha command on her voice.

 "Understood?" She repeated. And this time every student said their answer in a loud voice. 

"Yes ma'am." Seemingly satisfied with their answer she nodded her head and said "now, everyone goes to your seats. Except for Mr. Jeon." As she turned towards Jungkook who was looking at her with fear in his eyes. 

"Oh, and mr. Kim yugyeom? You will be on library run duty for 3 weeks. This means you will be leaving the University at 8:00 pm. Make sure to inform your pack about it." 

Yugyeom stopped midway and was about to say something when Mrs. Kang glared at him. "To your seat Mr. Kim." She said with warning. "Don't make me add more weeks to your library duty." He nodded hesitantly before going to his seat. 

"And for you mr. Jeon." She said to the human who looked at her with wide eyes looking like deer caught in the headlights. "First. You are late may I say. Second, not only did you only disturb the whole class but you also caused unwanted quarrels. Do you know this is not acceptable or do I have to remind you?" 

The human nodded before doing a whole ninety-degree now as he said "I apologize for reaching in the class late and causing the fight. I promise you that it will not happen again. Please forgive me." He said earnestly, making the dean smile before she schooled her expression again. 

"I may forgive you for the mess you did today mr. Jeon but it doesn't mean you will not get punished. And for your punishment, you will give the tour to our new student and will be his guide for the whole month." She said as Jungkook snapped his head upward as he looked at her with confusion, and said "pardon?" 

She then turned towards the new student who was still standing in his previous place arms crossing on his chest looking at both of them. He caught her gaze and gave her a polite smile before stepping forward and letting his hands fall on the side. The whole class fell silent as he smiled at them and introduced himself. 

"Hello. I am Kim Taehyung. And I will be joining from today."

And then his eyes glowed dangerously as he said. 

"I hope we all get along."
