🥀 Chapter 19🥀

At the restaurant

"..." Sara was absentmindedly twirling the noodles as she thought about the case.

"...Honey?!!" Edward called her the fourth time to no avail. But he shrugged her shoulders softly, Sara smiled and thought to finish her food without any doubts from her boyfriend.

Sara was terrified of ghosts, in contrast to her brave sister, Rashmi.

Rashmi still remembers the time when Sara had spent almost a week with Rashmi in her room. The reason was – in one of her pyjama parties, Sara's collegemate narrated a similar ghost story in the group, scaring almost everyone and making them believe it to a poltergeist which haunts its victims for its sheer pleasure.

It was only after Rashmi had conducted a Homa in their villa, was Sara able to relax with the hope of getting rid of her said poltergeist.

So, the recent mention of the ghost did bring back the terror in the innocent Sara's head.

Naik Villa

"...Bye Honey!...will see you tomorrow?!..." Edward kissed her chubby cheeks and found her zoned out again. He cupped her face calming her "...don't worry...no ghosts will come to take my baby from me...hm?...if at all you feel scared at night?...call me...we can chat till you fall asleep, hm?"

His soft words made Sara hug him tightly, in a way telling him to not leave her.

But he couldn't stay the night in the villa, as it might terrorise the elder strict sister.

Finally, his soft peck on her hairs made her release the caring Edward.

Sara hugged her body closer feeling the cold breeze on her fragile self. Covering more with the long shrug, she bid him bye and walked inside when...

Gasp!

The hooded masked figure was standing at the end of the porch, walking towards her.

Sara felt her limbs stuck as usual with the loss of her voice.

Crash! The flower pot fell with the impact of the attacker's feet.

She took the chance and went to enter her house but the door got locked, scaring her more.

"...Ahh!!..." the figure caught hold of her shrug ends, pulling her in. She struggled to get out of its grip with banging the door to call her sister or Abhishek or anyone.

Zapp! The attacker missed her with the knife getting stuck on the wooden pillar.

The similar knife. Her eyes widened thinking of a murder attempt on her. But why? – was the lingering thought in her mind, even at that crucial moment.

Before the attacker could hold her or attack her, Sara ran out of his grip. She made a run for the empty streets with looking back in between. The attacker was trying to catch up to the fast-paced Sara as she didn't slow down.

She just hoped to find one of the night joggers to help her out but to her luck, there were none.

She found a petrol pump across the street as she emerged from the bushes in between the two roads for a short cut.

She didn't think much and made a run towards the station to find some help.

She was looking down as she ran towards the station.

Bump!

"...What the?...Sara?!!" Edward caught hold of her before she could faint out of breath. She showed the attacker behind her, as Edward followed her hand movement.

Edward was dumbfounded as the hooded figure was breathing heavily. He thought to leave Sara in the petrol station and enquire with the attacker. But..

"...No!...please don't leave me...please Eddy!!" a frightened Sara caught hold of his coat to not let go of her saviour.

Edward caressed her unkempt hairs and nodded but as he looked back at the attacker who had vanished.

Edward made the jolted Sara moved to his car and take her to the Naik Villa with planning to inform Abhishek about the incident.

The hooded guy huffed for a breather with trying to look back to see if he was chased. But to his luck, no one was around in the dark arena of the streets.

As the man, Robert removed his mask, he smirked at being able to scare the living daylights of the serene lady lawyer Sara to kind of warn the stubborn lawyers to stay out of his case, once and for all.

Naik Villa

"..." Abhishek kept the call with the police commissioner after he confirmed to send more security to guard the villa during the day too.

Rashmi couldn't understand how did this happen, even with the vigil watch kept by her husband on them.

Sara was just shivering with the tremor that had passed her just a minute back. Rashmi also observed the way Edward was tenderly pacifying the shivering Sara with his calm words and caress, making her think about his real intentions.

"...Thank you, Edward...for helping my Sara...I don't know what would have happened to her...if you had not..." saying so Rashmi teared up, making Edward side hug her replying

"...It's my duty to protect her...isn't she mine?...don't worry she is safe now...hm?" Sara saw the way Edward was able to pacify Rashmi who for the first time was so terrified.

As Abhishek fell to the request of Sara to make Edward stay the night, Rashmi could only nod at her scared little sister's plea to have her love beside her.

Sara's room

"...I will behave, Tai...so no worries..." Sara massaged Rashmi's hands as she spelled her sister's concern about the obvious.

"...Don't worry, sweetie...I trust you...*glancing over Edward*...both...and moreover, let's think about your pacification than my unnecessary worry, hm" Rashmi caressed her cheeks as she bid her goodnight.

As Sara walked inside her room, contemplating on the sleeping arrangements; Edward was whistling his favourite tune, with arranging the pillows to his love's comfort.

"..." Edward turned around as he had pressed down the crease on the bed for their night sleep.

"...um...we can cuddle and sleep...if you don't mind...hm?" he caressed her shying self, who for once realised his alluring face shining in the moonlight.

Sara tried to smile but failed miserably in front of her hunk boyfriend who cradled her hands, walking towards her bed.

As he occupied the bed, he called her with his open arms.

Sara could only find peace in his arms, after the gruesome day. As Edward pecked her hairs, Sara buried more into his chest, getting a sweet hum from him. He covered them with the duvet to not let his Sara catch a cold on her lovely soft feet.

"...wish we could cuddle like this more..." his lovely whisper only made Sara think that she was definitely lucky to have him as her soulmate.

She would not let him go. Never.

The next morning

"..." Sara felt the soft rub of his limbs on her legs, making her smile of the pleasant night that she spent with her love.

He was a gentleman.

"...Good morning, love..." as his husky voice made the petite girl open her almond eyes, Edward had a strong urge to take her on a new level of pleasure.

But the place and time was not.

So, he controlled his emotions and pecked her forehead to get her soft self, closer to his warm embrace.

Knock! knock!

Sara went to open the door, by the time Edward got up from the bed to straighten it out.

Yes, the boy feared the strict elder but only out of respect.

He knew the burden that the elder carried for the baby sister.

"...refresh and come downstairs...breakfast is ready!..." a rather happy looking Rashmi smiled at Edward as she softly pressed her sister's arms.

Sara was puzzled at her odd behaviour and looked back at Edward who shrugged his shoulders.

At the dining table

Abhishek was casually reading the early news from his laptop with cradling the baby carrier with his free hand.

Rashmi was instructing the maid to make some good English breakfast for their guest.

"...Edward!...please have a seat!..." As Rashmi made the maid serve him some fresh full breakfast filled with sausages, back bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, fried bread, and beans, Edward gave a quizzed look at Sara and Abhishek.

Sara shrugged and went to wish her babbling niece, with catching up with her Jiju on the recent news, as usual.

Suddenly the other member of the family gave their full attention to the conversation between the elder sister and boyfriend. Seeing Rashmi smilingly serving her all-time hateful person was new to Sara and Abhishek.

"...Mam, there was no need for this...a simple paratha with veggies would suffice..." Edward spelled his concern to the rushing Rashmi who got astonished at his choice of Indian foods.

Sara picked her imaginary collar as in showing the pride of converting her English boyfriend to somewhat Indian.

Rashmi hated it. She replied "...no need to change for anyone...you should take the person in your heart with the mind to not change yourself in the process...remember that..." patting the shocked boy's cheek who felt more respect to the elder. Sara and Abhishek too were surprised by the sudden change of approval with the elder, kind of accepting the boyfriend.

Macintosh Mansion

Around 2 miles away

An unconscious ash clad cock, blood infused bones, the freshly cut bronze hair follicles. The dark clouds emerging from the south, with the light thunder following it. The woman then kept the big knives from her hands on the satanic sign she had drawn to perform the ritual.

"...." The woman wiggled slowly with the slight twirl of her upper body and chanting some unholy verses.

Her breathing increased by the minute as her chants got louder with the vigour of her body. She then poured some water onto the unconscious cock who fluttered its wings slightly.

The lightening scrapped the dark clouds with the loud thunder which would surely moisten mother earth, not before...

".... ahhh!!...****" the woman then grabbed the sleeping cock who slightly awaken with it clucking.

"...."

Crack!!

Slit!

Painful Cluckle!!

She then rubbed the squeezed cock blood onto the hair follicles with the last chant, making her limbs shiver and her eyes moved behind her head as the unholy act came to its finale.

Her eyes relaxed as there emerged complete silence. No thunder. No lightening. No cluckle. Pure silence.

Her lips smiled with the success of her second ritual. One more moonless night. One more ingredient for the last ritual. And then. Death. Revenge. Peace.

Pitter patter! Pitter patter!

She removed her veil to reveal her scarred face to welcome the rain showers that signified the success of her ritual.
