Nya summons her Elemental Water and uses it to act as stepping pads, as she jumps towards Wojira and Kalmaar. The corrupted King commands Wojira to charge at her, and just when the giant sea serpent reaches her, the Water Ninja leaps into the air and attacks him with her Water.

He deflects the attack with his trident. She lands on the sea serpent's snout, and uses her water to attack him again, but he jumps up high into the air and she does the same. She opts for a kick, but his trident whacks her down, causing her to land on the Wave Amulet.

He lands back down and prepares to strike her, but she backflips out of the way and he ends up striking the Wave Amulet instead. A strong, red pulse emits from the Wave Amulet the second he hits it, and it hits her. She falls, but saves herself with her Water. Wojira roars and blasts her, but she narrowingly misses the Water Ninja.

Nya growls with determination, and heads towards the sea serpent and Kalmaar again.

"Uh, teensy problem, guys." Jay mutters into his radio from the inside of his destroyed sub car. "I've got a bad leak and no control." No answer. "Lloyd? Zane? Anyone?!"

The controls inside his sub car spark electricity, and the power goes down. Water immediately begins to fill up from the inside. He sucks in a breath. "Okay. Okay. Looks like we're going for a swim. Eject!" 

He presses his fist down on the eject button, but it doesn't work. He huffs with frustration and continuously presses it. "Oh come on! Why won't you eject?!"

He was waist-deep in water now. And now he was left with no way out. "Oh, not good. Think! What would Zane do? Actually, no. Think. What would Kai do?" He begins using his arms and legs to hit the glass door of his sub car. Maybe if he hit the glass hard enough, it'll break and he'll be granted the way out.

"Come...on....!"

He'll be damned if he didn't make it out of here before he drowned in his sub car. 

"Everyone, listen up! Nya's not going to hold off Wojira for much longer! We need to regroup!" Wu advises the Ninja and Benthomaar through his comm. From underwater, Lloyd, Zane and Kai nod from their water crafts, but were stopped by a horde of Maaray guards on their manta rays.

"Any suggestions, Zane? What's our best course of action?" Lloyd asks the Ice Ninja.

"I have run three million simulations, and the outcome of all of them is the same. We will lose." Zane says.

The Fire Ninja, however, was ready to fight the Maaray guards. "Ninja never quit!"

"No, but a wise ninja knows when to retreat, and now is that time." Wu advises him. "Everyone, fall back."

"Fire!" All at once, the manta rays fire a plethora of torpedoes towards the three Ninja.

"You heard Master Wu. Let's get out of here!" Lloyd, Zane and Kai turn their watercrafts around and retreat at high speed.

As the Bounty continues to sail slowly across the water, Wu turns towards Pixal. "Pixal, we have to get these people to safety." He tells her.

"Kalmaar is unlikely to allow us to retreat, and at this speed, we have little chance of outrunning him." She explains. Both he and Keres hum thoughtfully, before the inner demon's eyes settle on the news building. She points her hand towards it.

"There!" Wu and Pixal spot the building as well. "Pixal, set course for that building and turn on the autopilot. I have an idea." 

The Samurai Nindroid nods and steers towards the news building, and Keres runs off in a different direction. 

Nya narrowingly manages to get out of the way when Wojira tries to chomp down on her. She then performs her Spinjitzu to get to higher grounds, and once she was at Kalmaar's eye level, she stops and attacks him with her Water.

He deflects the attack, and blasts her with his trident. The attack hits her square in the chest, but she manages to grab onto Wojira's snout before she could fall down into the water. She attempts to get up, but he moves forward and looks down on her.

"This isn't over, Kalmaar!" She yells, as his trident was aimed towards her and charges up for another attack. "I'll be back!"

She allows herself to let go of Wojira's snout, and she performs her Spinjitzu to help soften her landing. Just as he blasts her, her Water protects her. She lands on her Water when she gets close to the water and uses her powers to help her make a quick getaway.

Kalmaar growls. "Ugh, don't let her get away. After her! After her!" At his command, Wojira blasts the Water Ninja.

Jay takes a full breath in as the water fully floods the inside of his sub car. He continues using his legs to kick the glass door off, but it wasn't working. He couldn't hold his breath any longer, and soon enough, just as his body takes a full breath in, it inhales a mouthful of water.

Suddenly, Benthomaar, Katarina and Cole came into view. His eyes were filled with relief when he saw them coming to his rescue. "Let's get him out of here!"

The shark prince uses the tip of his spear to pry the sub car off its hinges. Jay swims out of the sub car, and Benthomaar wraps his arms underneath the Lightning Ninja's and presses his body against his. "Hang on!"

The Lightning Ninja nods and allows Benthomaar to swim to the water's surface at his fullest speed, with Katarina and Cole following them.

Jay closes his eyes tightly, and coughs harshly as his body inhales more water.

Wojira and Kalmaar were still searching for the Water Ninja, who had managed to get out of their sight a while ago. During their search, however, the sea serpent's eyes settle onto the Bounty cruising in the water.

The corrupted King could only smile widely. "There! The cowards are retreating! Destroy the ship! Sink that vessel!" At Kalmaar's command, she roars and dashes towards the ship. Once she was close enough, she opens her mouth to blast its sails, rendering it useless. The ship hits a nearby building.

He jumps down onto the deck, and Gripe and a few Maaray guards soon join him. They travel to the ship's control panels, and they were met with a bright red screen.

Autopilot.

He growls. "It's on autopilot!" He raises his trident in the air and strikes down on the screen. The screen turns off. His trident crackles with electricity and glares at his guard menacingly.

"Find them! Find the ninja!" 

Benthomaar leaps out of the water with Jay in his arms, bridal style. He looks around the area for a few seconds to make sure they weren't followed, and sets a weak and tired Lightning Ninja down onto the roof gently. Katarina and Cole appear out of the water and run towards Benthomaar and Jay once they get out of their watercraft and their water gear off.

Nya runs towards them and the rest of the team come to the building. The Water Ninja gasps at Jay's weakened state and lifts his head up. Wu and Keres join them. "What happened?"

"He's hurt. He inhaled a bunch of water." Cole explains. Jay opens his eyes and begins to cough harshly, as if his body was trying to reject the amount of water he inhaled. Nya hugs him tightly as he continued to cough.

Pixal and Gayle appear through the door and gesture the others inside. "Get him inside, quickly!" The Water Ninja nods and picks Jay up into her arms. He turns towards the rest of the team. "And hide those vehicles!"

Nya, Katarina and Benthomaar rush inside the building, and the others quickly get into their vehicles and dive below. Wojira screeches, and Wu spots them in the distance.

"Should I send my clones as a distraction, Wu?" Keres asks him. "It could draw their attention away from us." He shakes his head.

"No, it'll make Kalmaar suspicious and draw him here. For now, we must hide and think of a new plan." He explains. She nods and they both head inside the news building.

"Nya! I will find you." Nya has Jay stand up, and she and Pixal support him since he was too weak to support himself. The Lightning Ninja lets out a weak whimper. "There's no way you can hide!"

The Water Ninja and Wu creak open the doors just a crack and watch both Kalmaar and Wojira pass by the news building. "This world is no longer yours. It's mine!"

Wojira roars. The door closes shut.

Hours later, the team were inside a room, out of ideas. Nya had already tried using her powers to draw out the water from Jay's lungs, but the water wouldn't listen and obey her. Zane was already running scans on the Lightning Ninja's condition.

Lloyd paces back and forth, the team was either standing or sitting down restlessly, Jay was laying down on the couch as he wheezed and coughed, Nya stayed diligently by his side comforting him, and Benthomaar was standing on the far side of the room away from everybody else with his arms crossed and a conflicted look across his face.

"How is he?" Kai finally spoke. Zane walks up to them and shakes his head solemnly. They should've known better than to have hoped for the best.

"Jay has a significant amount of sea water in his lungs. Unless the water is removed, his condition will worsen." The Ice Ninja explains.

"Uh, what about Nya? Maybe she can draw out the water." Katarina suggests.

"She has tried. The water in his lungs does not respond to her." Wu says.

Lloyd steals a glance from Jay and looks back at the team. "We need to get him to a hospital!"

"How are we gonna move him with that thing out there hunting us?! We were barely able to get the Bounty across the waters without Wojira blasting us every five seconds!" Keres yells, frustration etched in her tone and written across her face.

"Maybe we can get help? From Queen Vania or somebody." Cole suggests.

"Our communicators do not have that range." Zane says.

"And there's a chance they won't get here in time. We have only hours, and every second that passes, Sparky's condition is getting worse. We need a new plan!" The inner demon argues. "Otherwise, he's going to die and-!"

"Don't say that!" Lloyd yells. "He's going to make it! He has to!"

"And how do you know that, Green Ninja?!" The blonde looks down for a few seconds. "We're out of options. We can't get to a hospital, and we can't call for help. What else are we supposed to do?!"

"We keep our hope that we can find a solution. I know we can. Stop being so pessimistic!"

"I'm not being pessimistic, I'm being realistic!" She snaps. "If we get him to a hospital, we'll die. If help arrives too little too late, he'll die. And what's worse is that we don't even know how to take Wojira down. Face it, Green Ninja. We're done for either way."

"At least I-!" Kai comes between Keres and Lloyd, and puts his arms between them.

"Okay, that's enough, you two. Break it up now before I have to do it for you." He says firmly. The inner demon and Lloyd exchange looks, before she sighs and shoves the Fire Ninja's hand away from her.

"I need to take a walk." She walks out of the room and closes the door behind her. Katarina sighs.

"She's frustrated. I don't think she's ever felt this helpless before. I don't blame her." She says quietly. Nya, who was listening in on the whole conversation, looks down helplessly. No way to call for help, no way to get Jay to the hospital. Keres was right, they were out of options.

Unless....

She looks towards Benthomaar, who hadn't moved an inch from his position. He was looking out of the window with glassy eyes, before looking down at the floor. She gets up and walks towards him.

"Bentho," She begins. The shark prince wipes his eyes with one hand and uncrosses his arms to give her his full attention. "How did Nyad defeat Wojira? In the story you told me."

"She became one with the sea." He replies.

That much she knew. But she needed to know how. "But how exactly?"

"She opened herself up to the full power of the ocean. She merged with it." The Water Ninja's eyes widen with this new knowledge. She then gazes out into the waters. The shark prince knew immediately what she was thinking.

"Do not think of such things. Nyad may have defeated Wojira, but she lost herself. What she did ... could not be undone. She vanished."

Nya continues to gaze out into the ocean with a conflicted expression, torn between her options. But the sound of Jay's coughing breaks through her coughs solidifies her decision.

She knew what she had to do.

Kalmaar and his guard were at another building, continuing their search for the Ninja. The corrupted King gazes out towards the waters for a few seconds before the commander startles him. He was quick to grab his crown before it fell into the waters, and places it back on his head.

"My Lord! Still no sign of the ninja." Gripe reports.

Kalmaar turns towards him and starts going towards him. "They are here!" He insists. "Keep searching! Search every one of these buildings if you must."

"Yes, my Lord." The commander nods. "In the meantime, we have found someone who claims to know them."

Now his interest was piqued. "What? Who?"

"He refuses to speak, but we found this in his possession." He reveals a framed photo of the Commissioner, the Ninja and Pixal. Kalmaar smirks.

"Take me to him. At once."

The night passes before she knows it and the sun rises over the sea. Nya had spent the whole night watching over Jay, seeing his chest rise and fall as he struggles to take in a full breath of air. She looks behind her and gazes at every one of her friends one last time.

The brother she had grown up with all her life, and had devoted his life to taking care of her and making sure she was safe and protected.

The little brother they had taken in and had watched him grow up into an amazing, incredible person.

The sister they had found and had called her family.

The demon she learned to call her friend, and watched her grow into a better person.

The friends she had learned to call her family, and doesn't see them as just her teammates anymore.

The prince she had easily accepted as both her friend and family, and made sure to give him the love he deserved and so desperately needed.

All of them, sleeping peacefully, not knowing the sacrifice she was willing to make. Tears well up in her eyes.

She was going to miss them so, so much.

Jay coughs again. She takes his hand into his own, and looks down at him. Memorizing every single facial feature he had, so she wouldn't forget. "I wish we had more time," She whispers. She takes in a shuddering breath. "But we never seem to get a break."

She leans down towards his face and gives him a kiss on his cheek. Jay weakly opens his eyes and looks at her watery gaze and that sad, sad smile. He weakly turns his head to watch her get to her feet and walk out the door. She gives him and the team one last smile before she brings herself to quietly close the door.

She walks up the stairs and onto the rooftop. She stands over the edge and stares down at the water. She looks behind the doors and smiles as tears welled up in her eyes. A tear slips down her cheek as she mouths the one thing she had never said to her beloved out loud.

I love you.

Nya closes her eyes with one final smile and dives into the water. She swims down.

One breath was all it took.

She performs her Spinjitzu, and opens her mouth and her eyes. She sucks in the water whilst her eyes glow a bright blue.

Inside the building, Jay opens his eyes and his mouth opens. He gasps while his body slowly sits up. The team wakes up to see the water being drawn out from the Lightning Ninja's lungs. Their eyes widen in surprise.

"Jay?" Wu gasps.

"What's happening?" Lloyd wonders aloud.

"The water in his lungs is being drawn out!" Zane exclaims. All of the water in Jay's lungs was finally drawn out and splashes down at his feet. He grasps his chest and allows himself to cough as he was finally, finally able to take a full breath of air and breathe.

"How?" Cole asks. A bright blue glow shines from outside. They shielded themselves from the bright light, before adjusting to it. They gasp in unison.

Nya's eyes glow even bright, and her mouth opens to reveal it was glowing as well. Her body envelopes itself in a bright light, and the water surrounds her, allowing her to transform.

"No!" Benthomaar exclaims.

"What is she doing?!" Wu gasps as he stands next to him.

"She's attempting to merge with the sea!" He explains. "But it is something that can never be undone! She will be lost forever!"

Wu's breath hitches in his throat. He takes a step back. "We must stop her!" The team and Benthomaar rush out of the room, but Jay doesn't. His brain was unable to process what was happening around him, much less what was happening to his Yang.

"W....What?"

His eyes lay upon the glowing figure in the water just outside his room. He widens his eyes a little. "Nya?"

Nya's body stops glowing, revealing her new body. Her entire body and hair had become water, and her chest and stomach had water-like details, with a huge wave starting from her right ribcage all the way to the right top side of her chest. On her back was the letter N covered in white. Her eyes glowed a bright blue, while her cheeks had a strange symbol.

She looks down at her hands. Her eyes widen.

She did it. She actually did it.

She twirls around in the water, and sets her eyes down on Jay, who had brought himself to get up from the couch and go towards the window. She swims up to him and puts her hand on the other side of the glass, as if to touch his own.

She smiles. And he smiles back.

She senses something in the water. She draws her hand back from the glass and prepares to leave. Her body glows a bright blue. "Nya! Wait!" In a violent burst, she travels towards the source. He falls back down.

"WOAH!"

Wu kicks the door open. Everyone runs out to the edge of the rooftop, their eyes focused on the blue glow swimming beneath the waters. "Nya! Nya! Come back!"

But it was too late. She was already too far away for them to reach her, and she was swimming at such a speed that rivaled Benthomaar's. The team could only watch helplessly.

"She did it." Benthomaar mutters under his breath. Keres' pupils turn to slits at the words.

"She's going after Kalmaar." They all turn around towards the sound of Jay's weak voice. He was standing at the doorway, using one of the doors as his support. "She's going to finish it. And I'm gonna help her."

"Jay, you can barely stand." Katarina reasons with him.

"I'm going." He states firmly, determination in his eyes and in his tone of voice. The Ninja and Benthomaar look at each other and nod.

"Then we're coming with you."

The Maaray Guards surround the Commissioner and the police officers in every floor of the building. They had finally found the Commissioner, and had alerted Kalmaar about it already.

A loud explosion comes from inside the room. Kalmaar and Gripe come into the room, and face the Commissioner.

"Who are you?" He growls.

"I'm the police commissioner." The Commissioner answers.

"Commissioner?" Kalmaar echoes with confusion.

"I believe it is a potentate of some kind. Like a king." Gripe offers.

"I'm a law officer. It's my job to protect the people and property of this city." The Commissioner explains to the corrupted King and the commander.

Kalmaar brings himself to come face to face with the Commissioner. They glare at each other. "Then I would say you have done a poor job."

The Commissioner strengthens his glare towards the corrupted King. "Where are the ninja? Tell me, and I will show you mercy."

"Even if I knew, I'd never tell you!" The Commissioner growls towards him. The corrupted King scoffs and shakes his head.

"I will ask one last time." He charges his trident up and points it directly at the Commissioner. "Where are the ninja?!" The Commissioner puts his arm even higher and steps more in front of the police officer cowering behind him with a shake of his head.

Suddenly, the building shakes. Wojira opens her bright red eyes with a growl and slithers around the building until almost half of her body was above the building. Her eyes were trained on the sea.

The blue glow was coming closer and closer to the building.

Kalmaar and his guard hop out of the building, and he goes on Wojira's head.

"What is it?"

It took only a second to see the blue glow in the waters. He knew exactly who it was.

"It's her! The girl!"

She rises out of the water, the water supporting her and helping her stand as she comes face to face with Kalmaar. 

"My name isn't girl..."

She lifts her head up. Her bright blue eyes glowed menacingly, and her face was contorted into an angry scowl.

"It's Nya."

He commands the giant sea serpent to face the Water Ninja.

"And you're going to wish you've never crossed me!"

Wojira roars.

Nya rises further into the air.

And dives towards them.
