Cole's p.o.v

I get up in the morning, three days after me and Caleb moved in with dad. Today, I'm going to talk to Jack about the job he offered. Cooking breakfast, Caleb and dad come in. I sign as I talk to dad. "Taking Jack's offer." I nod, eatting an egg. Caleb smiles 'Have fun, daddy.' He signs. I smile, kissing his head, I get up, wash my plate and head out. Coming to Jack's dinner, I walk in. Nicky walks up "Hi again, can I help you, Cole." "Is Jack in." I ask. Nicky smiles "He sure is, is it about the offer." She asks. "Yes, it is very much so." I say.

Nicky goes to the back while I sit at the bar. "Cole, good to see you." I hear. Turning around, I get up, shaking Jack's hand. "You don't have to ask. The jobs yours if you want it." Jack says. I smile "When can I start." I say. "How's tomorrow sound." Jack says. I nod, order three to go dinners and leave.

For the next month and a half, I get up at six, get ready and head to the diner. I'm in the middle of my shift when Jack calls me. Going into his office, he motions me to sit. "I asked you here for a reason. Cole, I've thought long and hard about this and I'd like it for you to be the co-owner of the diner." Jack says, pulling out the paper. I read over it, grab a pen and sign my name. "May I go back to work." I say. Jack smiles, he nods. The staff is more than happy at my new position.

I now have been working at the diner for three months, I miss Kai and the others but dad and Caleb help fill that hole. I go into my shift, walking up, the doors locked. I read the note, Jack went out of town. He told me a week ago. Unlocking the door, I turn everything on. Putting chairs down, setting the tables, Nicky and Dani come in. They smile, we set the work. At eight o'clock, we open up.

Around noon it gets busy, we step it up, all eight of us. I pitch in doing every job. The door opens, I look briefly, seeing booth six getting filled. Drying my hands, grabbing menu's and silverware, I head over. Getting close, I smile as I see my team. Ducking under Becka's tray, I come to the table. "Long time no see." I spook Lloyd and Jay when I say that. Kai gets up, hugging me, one I return gladly. "So, what can I start y'all with." I say. "Waters all around." Garmadon said. I smile, setting the menu's down and the silverware. "All righty, have those in a minute." I said, leaving.

Grabbing the waters, iced for them, I head back, tray up high. Coming to the table, I pass the glasses around. Tucking the tray, I pull my pad out. "Have we decided or we need time." I ask. Kai goes to say something when I notice a guy getting frisky with Nat. "Excuse me." I put the pad down going to the guy. Tapping his shoulder, he turns. "I'm asking you once to stop handling my co-worker. One more time and I'll ask you to leave." I say. He sucks his teeth, sitting in the chair. I go to Nat,  she hugs me. "I'll keep an eye on hem, if he does it again, he'll be kicked out." I tell her. Nat smiles, she goes back to her tables and I mine. Walking back up, grabbing my pad, I smile. "Sorry, the girls see me as a protector and it's the reason Jack hired me. Some of the customers get a little handy. So we ready." They nod.

Writing down their orders, I take the slip to the kitchen. Coming back out with the collector bin, I go to the empty tables that need cleaning. Two are across the gang. Setting the bin down, stacking the plates, I grab a stack of cups when a saucer hits me in the head, breaking on impact. My white hair turns red with blood as the same guy smashes the whole stack of plates. Dani and Nicky scream as I grunt. Thug goes to stab me with a shard when I grab his arm, sweep his legs and sit in hem. Blood drips down my face as Kai and Lloyd help hold hem. Dani comes over, holding a cleaning rag to the wound. I grunt in pain but continue to hold the jackass.

The cops come, an EMT walks in. He has me sit down on the bumper of the ambulance, he looks at gash over. Takin out a pair of tongs, he digs a shard out followed by three more. Grunting my teeth, Kai rubs my back. Commissioner comes over, he takes in the situation. "I've gotten statements from the girls, now I want the first person point of view." He said. "Jack hired me after I protected Nat three months ago. He gave me his card saying if anything was to come up with the ninja, that I had a place. I took the offer up when the guys had a mission in the desert. I've been here for the past three months and close to last month, Jack made me co-owner. I protect the girls, even see them as sisters. Ask any of them, when someone gets handy, I step in, give a verbal warning on the threat to kick them out. Strike two is I ask them to leave. Strike three is when I forcefully remove them, which has only happened three different times. Until now, I've never been attacked." I say.

Commissioner nods "Stories add up, you gonna press charges." I shake my head. "I have to clean the place up, so, I'm gonna have to close the place down tonight." I said. He nods, walking off. Kai leans in, kissing my cheek. The EMT smiles, he had to cut my hair some to stitch it close. He nods when done, I give hem a free gift card to eat at the place for his troubles. Going back in the diner, the guys pay, everyone leaves. Locking the door, we set about cleaning the place.

I come to the Bounty just after eight. Caleb tackles me to the floor. I smile, standing with hem in my arms. Kai comes over, I pull hem into a heated kiss, one that has his legs going weak. We pull away, he purrs, laying his head in my chest. Going to the table, Zane sets a plate down in front, one I greatfully dig into. While I eat, Caleb and Kai are curled into me. My heart had ached for them, but I had to stay and clean.

Later, I get in the shower, the warm water soothing me. Groaning, I lean forward, hands on the tile. Hands snake around to my shoulders, bleeding the muscles, stiff and tense. I purr as Kai continues, moving to my back. "Are you trying to get me worked up." I ask. "No, figured you'd be stressed, I'm just taking care of my boyfriend." Kai says. I turn around, pulling hem to me. Pulling Kai once more into a heated kiss, one that he moans into, I pick hem up, slamming into the wall. "I want you so bad. I hated not being near you, spitfire."
