Kai's p.o.v

Twenty hours Cole's been in surgery. We've heard nothing. I'm pacing the hall, Zane has stopped trying to get me to sit down. My ankles and wrists are wrapped, all that they need to do to me is take blood samples for testing. A doctor comes to me and I finally relent and let hem take the blood.

I continue pacing, even as the twenty-first hour hits. The doctor comes back, he motions me to a room. Going in, he motions for the stool. I shake my head, he puts a folder on the table. "Are you by chance a trans." He asks. I realize I have to tell. "No, I have both sexes. I'm a hermaphrodite." I say. He nods, sliding the folder to me. "That explains a lot, congrats, I'm going to assume the man in the OR room is the father." When he says that, I snatch the folder, reading it and I sink on to the stool.

He looks "You didn't know." I shake my head, not trusting my voice. He looks at me "Well, I'm sorry you had to find out this way. I hope he pulls through." The doctor says. I nod, getting up and leave. Going to the others, Nya looks at me. "If I was a trans or not." They all nod.

Hour twenty-eight comes, I'm leaning on the wall. Caleb is curled into the chair beside me. "Can I have the spouse of Cole Brickstone." We hear. I push off the wall, going to hem. "I'm Cole's boyfriend. How is he." I ask. The surgeon looks at me, motioning me to follow. Caleb grabs my hand "I'm sorry, no kids can be in the ICU." He says. "Not even the kid we adopted." I say. "When you put it like that, than he may come." The surgeon leads me to a room, I almost break right there. Coke is hooked to all kinds of machines. Tube down his throat helps hem breath. Now I wish I hadn't brought Caleb with me. Caleb climes up on the bed, laying beside Cole's leg.

I sit in the chair, grabbing his hand which has a brace on it. "He's in a coma, for how long, that's unknown. Who ever beat hem, they did a hell of a job. Just so you'll know, he almost died twice on the table." The doctor says. He leaves as I lay my head beside his hand. I'm so exhausted, I fall asleep right there.

Gentle shaking has me opening my eyes, Nya beside me. The gang is in here. Looking at the clock, three hours have past. Sitting up, Cole hasn't moved, he's just like he was. Tears begin falling, I grip his hand as Jay rubs my back. Sobs rack my shoulders hard, the emotions I've kept hold just pour out. I can't do this alone, I need my Cole.

"I don't know if you hear me or not. I need you. I can't do this alone. She I was scared of you finding out about me, you put those fears to rest. You gave us Caleb, you have me life, hope and love, you have me everything even when I had nothing in return. I need you Cole, not as the black ninja, the master of earth nor man who's brother is a killer. I need you as a father. Cole, I'm pregnant with our child, I just found out. So I need you to come home to me, to us, to our family." By the end of it, my head is on his chest, I'm sobbing unconditionally. I don't hear the gasps of the others but I do feel fingers thread into my hair.

With eyes full of tears, I shakyly look at the guys, hoping it's not one of them. Jay smiles, nodding behind me. I turn my head, eyes going wide as Cole's green eyes blink at me. His good hand is on his chest, the fingers moving. Whole in the desert, I learned sign language to speak with Caleb and it pays off. 'Love you. And I love Caleb and the little one.' I let out a cry, hugging hem gently, purring as he returns it. He touches his lips than mine. I smile wider and nuzzle my head into his neck.

Later, I'm in the chair Coaleb at Cole's chest. I hold Cole's hand, he strokes his thumb over my hand. It hurts where he lays his hand but seeing hem awake, I'm more than happy to take the pain.

Cole moves his good hand, fingers dancing. ' When I'm better, will you go on a date with me.' I nod, resting my head on the pillow I placed beside hem. Cole threads his fingers through my hair. I purr, it louths me to sleep.
