'Normal POV'

Well it's been about a week and the ninja are getting better at working together but still can't work as a perfect team.

The ninja are in the outside training grounds. Back in handcuffs, still trying to move as one. Cole calls out orders to try and help

"Walk!" He yells and everybody walks straight, only to get pulled back by there arms

"That's not helping Cole!!" Lia yells at her brother

"Don't you think I can see that!!!" Cole yells

"Calm down!" Kandice yells over them

"Ya, we have to know what way to go first" Anahi says

"Let's go that way" Emily says and points towards the forest that surrounds the monastery

"Is everyone ready" Violet asks

"Let's go already" Jay whines

"Okay, on three"

"One"

"Two"

"Three"

They all start to shuffle they're feet, all going towards the forest. They make it all the way there, successfully

"Woohoo!! We did it!!" Lloyd yells

"After a week of trying" Zane points out

"We still did it!" Emily says loudly

"Ya, don't rain on our parade" Violet laughs. The others laugh too

"Good job. Now, to get around the obstacle course like that" Sensei says

A collective "what!!" And lots of groans can be heard from all the ninja.

Just as the ninja are getting in position to start the obstacle course Nya's voice comes on over the speakers

"An Apartment building is burning down!! Hurry!" She yells

"Another great opportunity to work as a team" Sensei says and unlocks the handcuffs "work as a team, save the citizens inside the building" He says "do not lead your apprentices astray, stay with them at all times" he finishes

"Yes Sensei" the ninja say and get in the Ultra Sonic Radiar or on the Ultra Dragon. They race to the building and stand outside the front doors. The ninja establish a plan

"Ok ninja, everybody will go to one floor, it's not a big building so boys, we'll stay with our apprentices like Sensei said. Violet and Jay get the first floor, Emily and Zane get the second floor, Lloyd and Lia get the third, Kandice and Kai will get the fourth and Anahi and I will get the fifth." Cole says quickly

Everybody pulls down they're ninja hoods and puts they're hands on top of one another's

"Ninja Go!!!!" They yell and throw they're hand in the air. The ninja run to they're floors

~fifth floor~

'Anahi's POV'

Cole and I race to the fifth floor. All I hear is the screaming of children. I can barely see through the thick black smoke. I think about using my powers to get some fresh air but the extra air would probably start more fire... plus I don't really know how

"We need to get everybody out of here, now!!" Cole yells and we run into the room that the screaming is coming from. In the room the roof has collapsed in one spot. I don't see any kids though

Lots of parents are trying to move the roof. and then it hits me: the kids are under the roof!

"Cole we have to help them!!" I yell in panic

"Let's do it!" Cole says

He takes big pieces of the roof off and I help with the smaller parts of roofing. Soon we can see the kids, but we still can't reach them. Some of the adults start coughing violently

"Cole what are we gonna do, they're parents can't handle this much longer" I say and look at them

"Tell them to get out, we have to save the children" Cole says as he moves a big piece of the roof

I get up on a piece of fallen wall

"All adults need to get out of the building now!" I yell

"But what about our children?!" One lady yells

"Ya, I'm not leaving my kids behind" A man shouts

"We'll get them out! Now go!" Cole yells

The adults and some teenagers reluctantly run down the stairs and hopefully make it out of the building.

I turn back to Cole and he's gotten most of the roof off of the kids, enough to get them out at least. I start pulling children out of the hole and telling them to go down the stairs and get out of the building. Cole does the same.

Once we get all of the kids out of that room we go on to search the other rooms.

In one room a part of the roof collapsed on a little girls stomach and ribs, she's bleeding really badly, she can't move and I'm not sure if she's going to live

"Anahi, I don't think I can get her out" Cole whispers to me

"No Cole, you have to!" I scream, trying not to cry even though I want to

"I don't think I can, she's the last person on this floor, we should get out" he says quietly

"How can you say that?! If you won't get her out, I will!" I yell and start pulling pieces of wood and roof off of her. I can hear parts of the roof coming down around us but I don't care, I will get her out

"Anahi, the ceilings coming down!! We have to get out!!" Cole yells

I finally see his point, but that doesn't mean I listen to him. I still try to get the girl out, her eyes are shut now. I feel a tear fall down my cheek

"No!!!" I yell and the tears fall and won't stop. I look up and see the ceiling about to fall on top of me

"Anahi!!" Cole yells and throws his arms around me, he pulls me away from the falling roof and I turn and cry into his chest, not wanting to see the pile of roof on top of the little girl

"Anahi, let's go" he says quietly. I Look up to his soft brown eyes and start to walk, still crying and Cole rubbing my back.

~fourth floor~

'Kandice's POV'

Kai and I race up the stairs and into the monstrosity that is, the fourth floor. I can't see anything but black. I hear faint crying coming from one side of the floor

"C'mon, take my hand" Kai says and grabs my hand, he pulls me away from the sound I heard

"Wait! There are people back there!" I say and pull my hand away

"I didn't hear any people Kandice" he says, just loud enough for me to hear

"Well I did, and I'm going for them" I say and walk into the smoke, towards the noises. I hear Kai running to catch up to me. When he catches up he mumbles something to himself that I can't hear.

I burst in the door and see a dead man on the floor. It's face is burned and pealing off, and his side is impaled by a sharp piece of the wall that fell down. I scream and feel tears burn at my eyes, it's the first dead body that I've ever seen. I feel a hot tear run down my cheek

"It's okay, don't look at it" Kai says and takes my hand, he leads me away from the body

The sound of screaming gets louder and I realize that it's not just one child screaming, it's two

I run to the sound and fall to my knees. In front of me is a dead mother, holding onto her burned toddlers, one alive, and one dead. The mother looks even worse then the father did, one of her arms is missing and she has no face anymore.

I hear more screaming but don't acknowledge it

I bend down and take the little boy from her, still crying. The little boy bawls and clings onto me. Kai walks in with a crying baby girl in his arms

"Kandice! What happened?! Are you alright?!" He yells

"I-I'm ok" I say, although I'm not

"I checked the other rooms, everybody else is already gone" he says

"No they're not, there's another child behind that door" I say and stand up

I walk to the door, still holding the little boy. The door creaks open and I see a little little boy, around the age of 6 or 7. he's trapped under a few boards.

I walk over carefully and lift the boards off. When I do I see a metal bar sticking out of his stomach. I set the toddler down on the floor and look at the older boy

"C-can you get me out of here" the boy asks quietly

"Yes, I will" I say and look for a sheet or something. I pull the sheet off of the nearby bed and wrap around the boys stomach to keep the metal bar from moving

As I prepare to help the boy up the ceiling starts to collapse above me

"Kandice!!! Get out of there!!" Kai screams and runs towards me. I pick up the toddler and try to get the boy up but before I can Kai grabs me and the toddler and pulls us out of the way.

I look away as the ceiling falls onto the boy. all I hear for a few seconds is a blood curtailing scream. Kai pets my hair as I start to cry

"C'mon Kandice, we need to get out, now" Kai says and leads me out of the room. I'm still crying into his chest, clinging to the little boy for dear life. Kai holds the little girl with his other arm.

~third floor~

'Lia's POV'

Lloyd and I run up to the third floor and look around. I can't see anything but black smoke and the odd flame

"Lia, do you hear anything" Lloyd asks

"No, nothing" I say and cough a little from the smoke

I feel the building shake and hear an ear splitting scream. Lloyd and I race into the room where the scream came from.

Once we get into the room I see that parts of the floor have caved in. I hear sobbing and walk to a big hole in the floor. Beside the hole is a little girl about 5 sobbing into a mans shoulder and a younger girl, about 3 in the older ones arms. The man is pale and looks like he could stop breathing at any minute

"Are you two alright" Lloyd asks

"My, my daddy won't move" the little girl sobs

"Where's your mother" I ask

"D-d-down there" she points to the hole. I look down and see a woman, her face is covered in blood and she's not breathing. It becomes increasingly clear that she's dead

"C'mon, we've gotta get you two out of here" I say and pick up the younger girl. Lloyd picks up the older one

"What about my daddy?!" The older girl asks. I look back to the man; he has stopped breathing

"Daddy!!!!" Both girl scream and start to cry even harder. I follow Lloyd out of the room, holding back tears

"Is there anyone else up here" I ask

"I heard someone over here" Lloyd says and leads me to another room.

We walk in and I see a little boy, about 1 or 2 crying in the middle of the room. The floor has fallen in all around him

"Hold her and I'll go for the boy" I tell him

"Okay, be careful" he says and takes the little girl. he sets the older girl down but still hugs her and holds onto the younger girl

I start to walk around the holes in the ground. The boy sees me and starts to crawl towards me. The floor behind him breaks away and I start running

"Lia stop!!" Lloyd yells. I don't listen, I keep running towards the little boy. Just as I'm about to grab ahold of the little boy, the floor breaks away from under my feet.

"Lia!!!" Lloyd yells

I start to fall but soon hit something hard. I open my eyes and see that Lloyd caught me with his golden powers.... as for the little boy..... I start to cry and look away as he hits the ground. I float over to Lloyd and the two girls

Lloyd pats my back as I cry into his chest. The older girl hugs my leg, I pick her up

"C'mon, let's go Lia" he says. We walk out of the room. He is holding onto the little girl with one arm and patting my back with the other.

I'm crying and holding onto the older girl, she is also crying.

~second floor~

'Emily's POV'

Zane and I run up a flight of stairs and into the second floor. It's almost impossible to see through the smoke. But I can see that big parts of the roof are caved in.

"Emily, we need to save as many people as we can" Zane says to me

"Okay, but where is everyone" I ask and look around. I don't hear much, just the faint crackling of fire. More of the roof falls down and screams are heard throughout the floor

"I believe that answers your question" Zane says and we run into the room

Nobody in the room is moving. I think they're dead. I hear sobs coming from the back of the room and walk carefully over to the sound. I could probably use my powers to put some of the fire out, but I don't know how to control them yet, so I don't try.

When I get to the side of the room I see a little boy and a little girl, both look to be around 4 years old. they are both clinging to the corpse of a bloody, torn up woman

"Are you two okay" I ask and they look to me

"Our mommy, she isn't moving" the little boy says

"Is she alive" the little girl asks. I look to Zane

"No, your mother has passed away" Zane says and looks down "I'm sorry"

"We need to get you out of here" I say

"But what about our baby sister" the little girl asks

"Where is she" I ask. the little girl points to a room with the door closed. Zane picks up the two children and follows me into the room.

I look around for the baby but can't find her anywhere. I can hear her crying but can't see her.

"Emily, she is under the bookshelf" Zane says. I look to the bookshelf at the far end of the room. I slowly walk over to the bookshelf and lift it, Zane was right. The baby girl is crying under the bookshelf.

I reach for her and pull her from under the bookshelf. She is bruised and her arm is bleeding, but other then that she looks fine.

As Zane and I are walking out of the room the walls and ceiling above us start to collapse. We start running and stop when the roof stops falling. Zane has set the little boy and girl on the floor. I stand holding the baby girl.

The roof above me starts to collapse.

"Emily!!!" Zane yells

When Zane pulls me out of the way the baby girl falls out of my arms and the roof falls into her.

I stet to cry and turn to Zane. He wraps his arms around me and I cry into his chest

"We need to get out of the building Emily" he says. I nod and pick up the little girl. Zane keeps one hand on my back as we walk.

~first floor~

'Violet's POV'

Jay and I race into the the first floor. The smoke is so thick that I can barely breathe

"Violet! I can hear voices! Follow me" Jay yells. I do what I'm told and follow Jay. We burst into a room and see three children, the oldest looks 7 years old, a girl, the middle looks about 5, a boy and the youngest is just a toddler, also a boy probably 2 or 3. They are huddled in a corner crying

"Where are your parents?" I ask them

"I-In there" the oldest says and points to a room

"Jay, try and get their parents out, I'll take care of them" I say and pick up the youngest one. Jay runs into the bedroom

"Do you have any other siblings" I ask the girl

"Yes, my sisters, they're just babies, they're twins" she says and wipes the tears off of her face

"Do you know where they are" I ask. She runs into a room. I follow her with the toddler in my arms and the little boy running in front of me

She takes me to a pitch black room and I can see two small, pink cribs. All I can hear is the screaming of babies and the crumbling of the building

"Can you carry him" I ask the girl. She nods and takes the boy from me.

I have to be careful walking to the girls. The ceiling is falling all around me. I'm about halfway there when I hear Jays voice

"Violet!!!!" He yells. I turn around and see Jay panicking

"What are you doing Jay" I ask

"They're parents, they're caught under the ceiling!!" He yells and runs to me

"Jay be careful, the roof could collapse at any second" I say and reach into the crib, just as my hand is about to make contact with the baby I notice that she isn't breathing!

I pick up the other one; she's alive. tears start to run down my cheeks as I walk away from the crib

"Violet, it's not your fault" Jay says and hugs me, the baby girl between us

"I wish I could have saved her" I cry

"You did your best, that's all you could do" Jay says and gives me a big squeeze before letting go

The ceiling starts to fall again and I hear the screams of two people. A man. And a women. I know exactly what happened..... The kids parents, are dead...

"C'mon Violet, we've gotta get the kids outta here" Jay says and strokes my back as we walk out of the room.

'Normal POV'

All of the guys are hugging they're apprentice as the people that they saved are being treated. The girls have witnessed a lot of death and even Violet -who was once a spy for Garmadon- hadn't really witnessed death like this before.

Those innocent people didn't deserve to die. Or maybe some of them did, I don't know.

News reporters showed up while the ninja were in the building. Sensei walks up to the guys hugging they're apprentices. They don't let go though, they're enjoying being so close, the girls are too, but neither says anything to the other.

"Ninja, thank heavens your okay. I heard how bad the fire had gotten and came down immediately" he says

"Ya, it was pretty bad" Cole says and holds Anahi closer

"I'm not sure many survived" Kai says and pets Kandice's hair

"Not many did" Zane sighs and draws circles on Emily's back

"I wish we could have done more" Lloyd says and plays with Lia's hair

"What happened to the girls" Sensei asks

"They've experienced a lot today Sensei" Jay says and strokes Violets back

"I'm glad that you've all gotten closer and learned to work as a team" Sensei says and walks back into the crowd

As the ninja try to make they're way back to the Ultra Dragon and the Ultra Sonic Raider reporters keep shouting question after question at them

"Who are the new ninja?"

"Could you have saved more lives?"

"Were the new five holding you back from what you could have done?"

They don't answer any questions. They walk calmly, and quietly -aside from the odd little sniffle or whimper from a girl- in a line, each ninja helping they're apprentice through the crowd.

When the ninja get back to the monastery it is dark. Sensei is already there, he was waiting at the door for the ten of them to arrive.

Nya has dinner ready and they all eat. The girls don't say much, they're still trying not to cry.

After dinner the girls all find somewhere quiet to be for awhile before Sensei calls them to he to sleep.

'Violet's POV'

I go to sit out side, not wanting to cry in front of the others. I was taught not to cry when I was a spy for Garmadon, because crying showed weakness. But valuing life is not a weakness, nor is it a weapon. It is good, and those who do not value life are often evil and full of hate.

I hear footsteps coming towards me and look up. I see Jay standing beside me

"You did really well today, did you know that" He asks and sits down

"No, I thought I was slowing you down" I say and feel another wave of tears hitting me

"What?! Are you kidding?! You knew exactly what to do, you were great" he says and scoots closer to me "oh ya, Sensei wants us to go to sleep now"

Jay pulls my head towards him and kisses my cheek

"night Violet" he giggles and stands up

"Night Jay" I say as he walks away. I touch my cheek and feel a warm blush spread over my cheeks. I make my way to my sisters and I's room.

'Emily's POV'

I went into the small study to try and sort through the things that happened today. I witnessed death, a lot of it. I don't know what to feel. Right now it feels like any emotion could make me cry.

I hear metallic footsteps coming towards me and look away from the wall I've been staring at and look to the doorway. I see Zane walking towards me

"I wanted to let you know that you have handled everything that has happened really well" he says and I stand up

"Thank you... but I really haven't" I say and look down at the wooden floor

"Do not feel guilty Emily, you did everything you could" Zane says "Sensei said that he wants us to go to sleep now" he says and steeps closer to me. He kisses my cheek and walks away

"Goodnight Emily" he says

"Goodnight Zane" I say and feel better all of a sudden. My cheeks are warm. I guess there is an emotion that won't make me cry. I go to my sisters and I's room.

'Lia's POV'

I'm sitting in the gaming room, alone. I'm not sure what to do. I mean, I've never experienced anything like that. That was terrible. I feel the tears sting my eyes again as I think about what happened today.

I only stand up when I hear footsteps coming towards me. I turn and see Lloyd

"Are you alright" he asks and walks closer

"Ya, I guess" I say quietly

"It gets easier, I promise" he says. He leans in and kisses me on the cheek

"See you in the morning Lia" he says

"Night" I say as he walks out of the room. I feel a warm pink blush on my cheeks as I make my way to my sisters and I'd room.

'Kandice's POV'

Im sitting on the roof, alone. I know I shouldn't think that those deaths are my fault, but I do. I tried my best, yes.... but was there more I could do? I have so many feelings floating around inside of me.

I hear someone climbing up the fire escape and soon see Kai. I stand up, dusting off my pants as I do. He walks closer to me

"I know that you feel guilty" he says to me

"Well, ya, I could have gotten us killed!" I say

"No you couldn't have! People survived because of you, you couldn't have done anything else" he gets quiet at the end and leans toward me. He plants a kiss on my cheek and backs up

"Goodnight Kandice" he says

"Goodnight" I say and he climbs back down. A warm blush splatters my cheeks as I walk into my sisters and I's room.

'Anahi's POV'

I sit on a windowsill down a long hallway, alone. After what I experienced to day I fee awful. I don't know what I expected when I heard 'fire', but I didn't expect that. I feel bad that so many innocent people died.

I hear somebody walking down the hall towards me. I stand up when I see that it's Cole.

"What's wrong" he asks

"What do you think?" I ask with a little smile

"I think that your upset about today" he smirks

"Ding ding ding we have a winner!" I laugh

"Thought so" he says and slowly kisses my cheek. as he pulls back I feel my cheeks go red

"Have a good sleep Anahi" he says

"You too Cole" I say and he walks away. I walk slowly back to my sisters and I's room.

'Normal POV'

~in the girls room~

All of the girls are feeling better after they're visit from they're trainer. Each girl has her own big goofy grin I her face and is trying to hide it from the others. They will tell each other.... but they want to keep it they're little secret for just a little longer.

The girls get into pyjamas and climb into bed. Sleep takes over sweetly and peacefully.

~in the guys room~

The guys are feeling great! They just gave a kiss on the cheek to they're apprentice. It was nice. The guys aren't sure how the others will react when they tell them -especially Lloyd and Cole since they kissed each others sister- so everybody keeps they're mouthes shut for now.

The guys get into pyjamas and crawl into bed. Sleep takes over fast.
