Blinking, vision in my left eye is slow to clear. Zane holds a mirror and I look. My right eye is pale, the left lighter than what it was.

Sighing, Zane goes to wrap my eyes again. I stop hem. "It's fine the way they are. I've been blind before, I can cope." I tell hem. Footsteps sound, Jay peeks his head.

"Damn, you look sick Kai." He says. "What cha want, Jay." I said, standing. "Think your rides here." He says, thumbing behind.

I get up, walking to the deck. Pushing the door open, I smile at the boy boys I love. Lloyd charges, slamming into me. He actually knocks us over with the force he used.

Cole full blown laughs as Lloyd snuggles into my neck. " 'Ight Lloyd, off. Let me up." I tell baby brother. He climes off and I stand. Cole walks over, wrapping his arms around my waist and kisses me.

Pulling apart, I purr. Cole looks at the others, dip his head and we head for the portal. "Kai." I turn to little Lloyd, he's running to me.

Kneeling, Lloyd jumps into my arms. "You won't forget me, will you." He asks. "Of course not. I love you as much as I love my brother. I'll come and visit when I can." I promise.

"You sear." He says. I smile at little Lloyd. Taking off the chainlink necklace, I slip it around his neck. "I promise on this necklace." I tell hem. Lloyd hugs me once more and pulls away. Standing with my brother and mate, I head home.

In the medbay, Zane gives me a full look over. Scanning my eyes and determining how severe my eyes are. I'm totally blind in my right eye, partly in the left.

Getting up, pulling on the Phoenix cloak, I walk out onto the beck. Cole holds Chowa and she reaches for mama. Taking her, holding her high, she giggles as I touch foreheads.

Cole smiles as I bring our daughter into my arms. She nuzzles into my neck, purring. Cole walks up to me and I go into his arms. The gang is around as we take comfort in each other.

Cole pulls away, he has a look. "What's wrong." I ask. "Nothing, except for one thing." He says.

I cock my head than gasp as Cole pulls out a box. He opens the box, lowering to a knee. "Kai, from the moment I met you as a kid, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. I just didn't know how. Now. Now I know how.

"So, Kaito Alkio Smith, will you make me the happiness man alive and marry me."
