Chapter One
Jay smiled as he looked down at Ninjago City, despite being built by humans the city stood tall and proud, wowing angel and demons alike.
"I thought you'd be here, Jay," someone said from behind the male.
"Heh, you know me well, Zane, but I sense you didn't come here just to talk of our bonds, do tell, what troubles you, my brother," Jay says, looking into the ice blue eyes of his brother.
A small smile teases Zane's lips as he stares past the blue clad man, "I am afraid you know me too well Jay. I do have news, two more demons were spotted the day before yester. They appear calm but I cant fight the sense that something is going to change,"
Jay bit his lip thinking a moment before responding, "We mustn't fret, they could be harmless. Though believe me my friend if they threaten anyone we will be there faster than you can say Ninjago."
"Well said. We should head back, sensei Wu will not be pleased if he is forced to wait for us again, Heh, it took me two weeks to get over the taste of his sun tea," Zane says smirking at the other male, who instantly gaged at the meer mention of the awful tea.
"Agreed," he replied before exclaiming, "Race ya!" and promptly jumping off the building. Jay barely heard Zane's, "You're on!" over the rush of the wind in his face. Sixty feet up he let his wings unfold and send him high into the sky. He felt giggles bubbling in his chest and he flew effortlessly towards his home. "You pigeon brain!" Zane yells as soon as he touches down next to Jay, "You cheated!"
Jay smirked and quietly murmured, "Looser says what?"
"What was that Jay?" Zane asks unsure of what was said.
"Nevermind, I'm hungry, let's go eat," With that the blue dashes inside, a smirk decorating his childish features.
"Hello, Jay, Zane, any news to share?" their old sensei questions.
"Nah, patrol was pretty normal, the humans were, well, humans," Jay says as he walks towards the kitchen to begin preparing dinner.
"Hmm, good, and how about you Zane, anything to report," the man asks running his hair through the length of his long white beard.
"Yes, Sensei, I heard rumor of some rogue demons. At the present moment they are inactive," he informs, his eyes searching his sensies stormy gray ones for any trace of worry.
"Don't fret, Zane, they are dormant for now and we mustn't start anything," Wu says, placing his hand gently on his pupils shoulder.
"Told ya so, Zane!" Jay yelled from the kitchen, the other two could practically feel the smile that they knew had formed on the young mans face, " Dinners done!"
Zane smiled at the though of food, especially Jay's, while he was also an outstanding cook, Jay's meals always had this special feel to them. It was like he actually found a way to put his love and joy into his cooking.
The three men sat at the table, and began eating, not talking. Simply eating , enjoying the silence, and basking in each others company. After all they are a family, perhaps not by blood but definitely by heart. Saddly their family time never lasts long, a meer fifteen minutes later Jay excused himself to his room. He silently slipped in to his lab, ready to get to work on his latest invention. it was a Falcon scouting robot for Zane, he poor guy was always fretting about the unseen, so two months ago Jay began this little project with the intent to give it to Zane on his birthday. the bird was currently seventy five percent done, and it was Jay's goal to get to eighty percent by three am, aka the time he would pass out. Smiling at his work so far Jay grabbed his head phones and plugged them in to his phone, before playing his inspirational playlist on full volume. As he tinkered his thoughts flew a million miles per hour over everything that had happened during the day. No matter how hard he tried to steer his thoughts away from the two new demons he couldn't. He hates fighting and never wanted to have to hurt anyone, but fate was never kind to him. All he could do was hope and pray the peace would hold, but that was all up to Wu and Garmadon. If either ever chose to engage their champions, all sorts of terror would rain down upon the mortal world, put simply it would be a massacre. Yes, if he and Zane were ever faced against their opposite the fight could go on for eternity. A small chuckle escaped Jay's lips as he thought about it; he couldn't help but wonder what his opposite would look like. Would it be his exact opposite in every possible way or just his element. He cringed at the thought of someone who loved fighting, was always serious, couldn't cook, with strong, kinda, rough features, dark hair, and dark eyes. Jay quickly shook his head, he was making his opposite sound hot and that made him cringe, as he was always called cute. A sudden caw interrupted his thoughts scaring him half to death. The bird looked at him, black camera eyes zooming in on him. He smile and reached his hand towards the robo bird, gently rubbing its head.
"Good, Falcon, just a few more tweeks and you'll be ready" he cooed softly to his robotic friend, before turning him off for the night, seeing as it was currently almost three fifteen, and he had clearly surpassed his goal, extensively. Beaming proudly Jay snuck back into his room, passing out onto his bed, not even caring that he was still fully dressed.
