Skylor's POV
I walked into the school with my headphones on, listening to 'Thank u, next' by Ariana Grande. Walking up to my locker, I took the things I needed for my first class and then walked to the room.

I didn't remove the headphones and just sat down on my usual place and started doodling on a sheet of paper.

All of the sudden, somebody snapped their fingers in front of my face, startling me. I looked up to be met with a pair of chocolate brown eyes. I removed my headphones and spoke."What can I do for you, hot head?"I asked.

Hot Head was his nickname which only his best friends and people he likes are allowed to call him. The people he likes is apparently me only, because I'm the only one aside from Jay, Cole and his sister who call him that way.

He answered, rubbing the back of his neck."Umm...you know I'm in a group, right? The Weekend Whip?"he asked and I nodded my head."Well, um,"he said and took something out of his pocket."You see, we're gonna perform on this party and Lloyd told me to invite whoever I want, so, here."he said and handed me an invitation for Lloyd's party. I've never been invited to a party before."And um, I was wondering if you wanted to come?"he asked, a blush creeping on his face and he was rubbing his neck nervously.

I smiled at him."Sure, I would love to!"I said.

His eyes lit up."Great!"he said with a big smile on his face."Oh! You can also invite whoever you want!"he added.

"Okay! I can't wait to hear you play!"I told him.

"Thanks, although we're not that good,"Kai said and looked down, hiding his blush.

Before I can tell him something else, the bell rang, cutting out conversation short. Kai flashed me one last smile and walked to his seat next to Jay and the two of them immediately started talking about something.

I looked down at the invitation and smiled.

~Time skip-the night of the Party~
Skylor's POV
I was in my bedroom, looking at myself in my full height mirror.

I'm wearing a white shoulderless and long sleeved blouse and blue denim shorts. I let my hair down and curled it a bit at the ends.

I turned back to look at Seliel, who was laying on my bed and looking at her phone.

"Sel, so you think Kai will like it?"I asked. She looked up from her phone and when she saw me, shock covered her face.

"Damn, girl, he will love you,"she said."Not that he doesn't already."she added, giggling to herself.

"Yeah, right, I wish,"I said and turned around to look at myself again."Is it too revealing?"I asked.

"Well,-"

"Oh gosh it is and I will look like a slut and Thomas won't like me! I'm gonna change!"I rushed and went to my wardrobe to take other clothes, but I felt Seliel tugging on my arm.

"No time now! We will be late!"she said and dragged me out of my room, grabbing my purse and phone in the process.

We arrived in front of the party and the music could be heard from three kilometers. The house was full with people from our school and some I didn't recognize. All of the sudden I got super self conscious.

"You know what? Let's go home, the new episode of Riverdale is out anyways, we have to watch it!"I said and put on my seatbelt again, but Seliel stopped me.

"Nah ah, I'm not letting you do that mistake!"she said and opened her car door and went out. She came to my side and opened my door, then dragged me out of the car and towards the house.

We walked in and I looked around. People were drinking and having fun.

"Hey! You're here!"I heard somebody say and I turned around. I saw Thomas coming our way.

"Oh! Cole is here!"I heard Seliel say."I will find you later, yeah?"she asked and without waiting for an answer scurried away.

I turned around to see Kai in front of me and decided to answer."Of course! I said I would, didn't I?"I said.

"Indeed you did,"he said and rubbed the back of his neck."You look really nice."he said, looking me up and down.

I looked at my clothes and blushed, then looked back at him."Thanks!"I told him.

"Do you want to dance? I mean, you don't have to-"he said blushing, but I cut him off.

"I would love to,"I said and a grin covered his face. He took my hand in his and led me to the dance floor, where we danced and talked for I don't know how long, until Jay came to Kai. He whispered something in his year and Kai nodded, then Jay walked away.

Kai looked at me."We're up in five minutes. I'm sorry, I gotta go,"he said, slightly disappointed.

"It's fine! I can't wait to hear you perform!"I told him. He grinned and excused himself, then walked away.

I went to find Seliel and after I did, I heard Kai start singing.

The club isn't the best place to find a lover

Everybody clapped and cheered, but Jay never looked away from me. He shifted his gaze to Jay, who was behind him. Jay nodded to the silent conversation they were having and Kai turned again, then spoke.

"The next song is dedicated to someone....special," Kai said, looking at me again. I feel like everybody looked at me, but I didn't tear my gaze from Kai. I was too in awe.

Kai finished the song and the crowd went wild. I couldn't react, I was too shocked. The song was dedicated to me? And it was a love song?

Kai was saying something on the microphone, but I was too deep in thoughts to react.

A minute later, I felt somebody touch my shoulder, bringing me back to the real world. I looked up to see Kai looking at me with worry in his eyes.

"Sky? Are you okay?"

I shook my head."Yeah, yeah, I'm fine,"I said and blushed."Was the song dedicated to...me?"I said. What if it wasn't for me? That would be so embarrassing.

He blushed and rubbed the back of his neck."Um...yeah,"he said. He took a deep breath and spoke."Look, I've been meaning to tell you, I like you. I like you so much, I can't even express it. And I wanted to ask you....would you like to go on a date with me?"he asked. I stood there speechless."Skylor...?"

"I-I..."I spoke and then a smile broke onto my face."Yes! I would love that so much!"I said and threw myself at him, wrapping my arms around his neck. He was gonna fall, but regained his balance and wrapped his arms around my waist, nuzzling his head in my hair."Nobody has ever done anything like this before for me,"I told him.

"Well, I'm kinda lucky they didn't then, or else we wouldn't be here now,"he said and I smiled and nodded. Best party ever.

Now THAT was a long chapter. 2249+ words! My hands hurt lol.
IM SO SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING ANYTHING THE PAST TWO WEEKS I KNOW IM A TERRIBLE AUTHOR JUST BEAR WITH ME! IM TRYING MY BEST WITH STUDYING AND ALL! HOPE THIS ONE SHOT COMPENSATED FOR MY LACK OF WRITING!
