Alyssa was found dumpster diving with her twin brother, Morro at the front of Sensei Wu's Monastery. He kindly took the siblings in and trained them, after telling them that one of them could possibly be the destined Green Ninja. After finding out that neither of them are the Green ninja, Morro took off to prove that he really was the one destined to wear the Green Gi. Alyssa stayed under the care of Wu once her own brother left her to her own defences.

Wu continued to train her and raise her almost as if she was his own child until it was time to find the rest of her team of ninja.

She never really mentions her sibling throughout the time she spent with her team and even when her family was questioned about she would only change the topic. She never fully forgave her brother for leaving her, his own family they both had left although she would always care deeply about him.
