Zane's p.o.v.

A day has past since returning home. And finding out about Kai's true heritage. Me and Cole load a steel beam on a pallet. "Zne, how are these gonna get up there." Lloyd asks. The cranes have all been destroyed.

"Leave that to me." Kai's voice rangs from above us. He dips fown, grabbing the chains at the corners and lifts the pallet of beams up. It took me and Cole everything we had to lift one. Kai just lifted a pallet of fifteen beams like their nothing. And each beam weights seven-fifty.

He takes them up to Borg tower where crews are waiting. Ninjago has accepted Kai as he is and he's happy. Now, he stays in his base form. Which is where he's human with cat eyes, his wings and tail are out and he has a pair of horns that grow from his temple, curling back than a slight curl up.

Kai comes back, he helps by lifting the pallet when ready. At noon, we take a small break. Kai is perched on one of the beams, tail curled around said beam as he eats a sandwich. I go up, sitting beside hem.

Kai surprises me by leaning into my shoulder, a deep purr rumbling in his chest. I rest my head on his, Kai nuzzles my shoulder. His tail comes up, curling around me.

I curious of how it feels. Running a hand along the skin, the scales are rigid like shark teeth. "Any out of place." He asks, eyes closed. "No, just curious." I say. His tail curls tighter around me, Kai opens a wing and folds it around us.

Kai looks at me, his gold/silver eyes shine. He leans in, kissing my cheek. "I choose you, forever and always." He says. I understand the meaning. He chose me as a future mate.

I cup his cheek, kissing his lips in turn. "And I you. Even in death." I say. Kai purrs, we stay like that a bit longer than get back to helping the people.

Later, I step into my room at the monastery. Kai is in his room. Laying on my bed, I hear the door creak, it's Kai. Smiling, lifting the blanket, he lays beside me. Curling up, we fall asleep.

The days that follow, we grow closer, but take it slow. Than, a month has gone by when Kai comes to our shared room. I sit up on the bed as he climes on my lap.

"I want to do something. Just don't move okay." Kai said. I nod, leaning back on the wall. Kai unbottens my gi top, he nuzzles into my neck. I smile as he just wants to cuddle. Than I yelp as his canines sink into my neck, breaking the metal exo. Kai pulls away, licking the bite.

"Now, we are one." It clicks what he means but, only I have been marked. Reaching up, I open his gi, Kai bears his neck and I return the bite. Pulling away, a snowflake appears on his neck, whitish/blue. I have a flame on my neck in the different colors.

We lay down, Kai with his head on my chest and we turn in. The next day, the gang is shocked about the marks but, they approve and encourage.

Little did we know, this was going to be short lived.
