I finished brushing my hair and looked in the mirror with a smile. Kai has been away training on the mountain side for a week with his team, but his sister called me and told me he had returned. So I was going to surprise him. I shoved my phone into my back pocket of my jeans and flattened out my F/C t-shirt. 

I grabbed my keys and locked my door, stepping out into the hallway with a wave of excitement flowing through me.

I knocked on the monastery door and waited patiently. I always hate knocking on my friend's doors because it's just so awkward standing outside and waiting for them to answer. I usually text them that I'm there but I can't really do that in this case.

I snapped out of my thoughts when the door was pulled open, and a brown-hedgehog-haired boy stood there, rubbing his eyes as if he had just gotten up from a nap which is strange because it's five in the evening.

"Y/N?!" he cheered happily. I smiled wide and nodded as he wrapped his arms around me, lifting me off my feet and twirling me around. He set me down lightly and held my face in his hands, bringing his lips to mine.

I kissed back passionately and we both pulled away at the same time, staring deeply into each other's eyes. "I'm shocked he didn't blow up, not just anyone can wake fire boy up from a nap," someone smirked from behind us. We both faced the person only to see it was Jay.

I chuckled, my laughter dying down when I saw what was in his hands, a digital camera. "Jay!" Kai yelled, sprinting off to the lightning ninja. I groaned and picked up my feet, chasing him down the halls. 

He yelped when he noticed I had joined the race.
