I entered the grocery store with my black school back pack strapped on top of my red t-shirt. I was wearing navy blue denim short shorts and my H/C hair was in a ponytail.

I just came from Fairmont High in a small town around Ninjago City.

I have about three hours of homework to complete and I need to go on a run so this shopping trip needed to be speedy quick.

I grabbed a green basket and wandered through the aisles to collect my supplies.

I took two boxes of macaroni and cheese and a gallon of milk. I took a package of four sticks of butter and a loaf of bread. I collected a roll of iceberg lettuce, ranch, salami, tomatoes, cucumbers, and bacon bits. The rest of my supplies for dinners and lunches were at home in my fridge and pantry.

Besides, Mrs. T makes me dinner on Tuesday and Thursday and I don't eat breakfast. It gives you energy but I don't need it. I have a hidden stash of like 50 energy bars so I eat one every morning.

I payed for my items and walked to the sliding doors. I looked down at my phone in my hand with my bagged items in my left.

Right as I looked up from my phone, I ran smack into someone. I plopped on my butt and sighed, "Fantastic," I mumbled, reaching for my bag and putting it in my wrist.

"(Y/N)?" someone said.

I looked up from my position on the floor. I picked up my phone and laughed at the person in front of me.

"Kai?"

"Let me help you up."

He offered me his hand and I graciously accepted.

I gave Kai a friendly hug and pulled away after checking that nothing fell out of my book bag.

"On your way home from school?" he asked.

"Yep, back from the torture chamber."

"What school?"

"Fairmont, up near Jamonikai Village."

"You walk?"

"Yes, I just needed to get some groceries before heading home to get my homework done."

"Can we talk first?"

"Sure."

I carried my grocery bag outside and traveled to my apartment building. I pulled my keys out of my back pocket and unlocked the front door. Then I walked up the stairs and stopped infront of Mrs. T's door.

I knocked and shouted through the door.

"I'm back Mrs. T."

"Alrighty."

I opened my door and shut it after Kai came in. I set my bag next to my dresser and unloaded all my things into the fridge and pantry.

"Want anything to drink?" I called to Kai from the kitchen.

"No thanks."

I sat on my bed with my legs crossed in criss-cross apple sauce.

Kai sat in my desk chair.

"So, what do you need to tell me?" I asked.

"So- uh- I've been wanting to tell you this for a few weeks now, I just never knew how."

I think I know where this is going.

"I like you, you're really sweet and funny and have a great personality."

I smiled on the inside and had a slight red swarm onto my cheeks on the outside.

"That makes too of us." I laughed.

Kai's face relaxed and he let out a deep breath.

"That was more nerve-wracking than the overlord." he said.

I giggled at his reaction and hopped off my bed to my bookbag.

"You might as well help me figure out how on earth x will equal y." I sighed.

"Is that math?" Kai asked.

"You're hopeless."

"I don't go to school!" Kai whined.

"Oh stop whining and try to help me." I told him.

I sat on my bed with my math and science books in my lap. Kai sat next to me and tried to help. Emphasis on the word tried.
