When You're Working - Lloyd
Have you ever just wanted to slap yourself repeatedly after sitting in a classroom filled with an annoying teacher all day? I have, many, many times. Today I had an exam for six hours where filled in bubbles for two hours straight that my hand started to cramp. It was a useless exam really. I shouldn't have waited to take AP Biology until senior year because I just realized I didn't want to do it anymore.
And to make matters worse, I couldn't even go home afterward and have a wonderful date with my bed and it's warm covers that were so freshly washed.
No.
I had to work.
Of all days.
I had been working at the Jamanakai Community Center to teach younger kids how to play volleyball, and it was fun, don't get me wrong. But after writing answers about cells and biomes for six hours, I was a little tired.
It sure didn't help that two - not one - little kids tried to hit the ball hard to impress me that I got hit in the head, hard. I knew to leave that part out when Cole asked how it went. He was the one pressuring me to start coaching, he said it would make me look good to Bradley Hines so I could keep my spot at the college with no contingencies.
And that would explain why after walking into the monastery to see the ninja all shouting over one another about the training equipment and its use, I decided I had enough.
With my gym bag on my shoulder and patience running very thin inside me, I approached Jay and pinched my fingers on his ear and just started pulling. His whines and cries made me let him go and I pushed him to the corner away from the others before I turned to face them - all them staring at me in shock.
"Who's next?" I asked, placing my hands on my hips. I watched as all them took a step back, and I heard Jay's footsteps behind me. Before he could even get close to trying to sneak up on me -or whatever he was trying to do - I grabbed his arm and flipped him. He groaned and rolled onto his side before looking at me. "Uh, one second," he said before sitting up, "Ow!"
I scoffed and stepped over his legs, walking toward the hallway. "Oh please, that was like a butterfly flip," I spat out, not turning around to acknowledge any of them as I stepped into the hallway to my room.
I heard Jay let out a string of complaints and I then heard Cole start to argue with him - yet again, might I add.
Once I reached my room, the first thing I did was kick off my shoes and throw off my jacket. I let out a sigh of relief once I did and stretched my arms above my head, hearing my back bones crack.
As my arms dropped to my side, the door opened and Lloyd stepped in, a smile on his face. "Rough day at work?" he chuckled, sitting himself on the bed while I shoved my jacket into the closet with no regard to putting it on a hanger. "Rough day at school, and then on top of that," I mumbled, walking across the room to check my phone for any missed messages.
"One of the perks of being a ninja," Lloyd grinned, flopping back on my sheets with a happy sigh leaving his lips. "Is one of the perks also that you're free to be an egotistical asshole whenever you please? You all exhibit that trait well," I replied, sitting on the bed next to him and flopping down beside him.
Lloyd playfully smacked my arm and rolled over so he was hovering over me, "I am not an egotistical asshole," he retorted, his eyes narrowing at me. I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, alright. Tell that to yourself all you want, Garmy."
Lloyd let out a puff of air and looked into my eyes. I lifted my hand to brush away a strand of hair from his eyes and he smiled warmly at me. "Okay, I'll compromise," he finally said after a moment. I raised my eyebrows at this, "Oh yeah?"
"I'll admit that I'm egotistical," he began, his words trailing off at the end. "But only at one thing."
"What's that?" I grinned, my fingers curling around his shirt collar as I bit my lower lip. He smirked before leaning closer, his nose brushing against mine. "Kissing you," he whispered against my lips before closing the gap and kissing me like I had been wishing he done for minutes. My lips found a perfect rhythm with his and I tugged him closer by his collar.
It sure was one long day of school and working, but the nights are always the best anyway.
