When You're Still Missing- Kai
My head lolled to the left, a droopy feeling echoing in my skull. There was an aching feeling behind my eyelids and I struggled to blink them open. A groan escaped my lips when I opened my eyes, and I searched the proximity of the space I was in.
It was small, perhaps it was a little basement. It definitely smelled like one. I could see mold growing in the corner of baseboard. The walls surrounding me were old stone they were gray, and there were no windows. There was a single light on above me but whenever I lifted my head it hurt so I couldn't look at the light or ceiling above me.
To say I was scared was quite an understatement. I didn't know how long I had been here, and I didn't know who took me, where I was, or why it was me. Why me? Why?
"Hello?" I called out, my voice hoarse and raspy, my body begging for water and this was its way of telling me. "Is anyone there?" I cried out, tears slipping from my eyes as I screamed for mercy.
Slowly, I lifted myself onto my elbows and let out a sob as I squinted my eyes to try and see if anyone was in the room with me. But the only thing I saw was a glare as if there was a plate of glass in front of me.
Hesitantly, I scrambled to my feet and wandered on my shaking feet to the glare I saw earlier. As if I was expecting it, I raised a hand and felt a cold pane of glass. I became instantly horrified. I was trapped in a small box. There was no way out.
"No, no, no, no, please!" I screamed, banging my hands on the glass and hoping someone could hear me. "Let me out! Please let me out!"
I cried painful tears. Each one that slipped from my eye burned and I wanted nothing more than to collapse under warm sheets with the comfort of my boyfriend. He was the only one that could rescue me, yet he had no idea where I was.
I was totally alone.
