When You Go Missing - Zane
I was sitting in a coffee shop on an early morning awaiting the arrival of my boyfriend. We planned to try a new coffee shop every week and this was our second one. We also ordered each other's coffees so we were trying new things as well.
I was currently keeping myself occupied as I was invested in a book to keep myself company. Zane has called me earlier and told me that Sensei Wu had surprised the team with a sunrise training and he would be a little late.
I set my book down carefully and picked up my phone to see a recent text from Zane. It read:
I am on my way to see you.
I smiled and put the phone down and closed the book before standing and pushing in my chair. I walked to the back of the small shop to use the restroom. There was a side door next to the woman's room and across from the men's.
As I approached the restroom with my hand only a finger away from the doorknob, someone moved behind me and I turned around quickly. It was a young woman with dark brown hair and a black jacket hanging by her side. "I didn't mean to startle you," she told me after seeing my wide eyes. "You didn't," I assured her with a smile. "Would you mind holding this door open for me, please? I know it's not totally fair of me to ask but I have to carry coffee beans in and- "
I chuckled, "Not a problem."
The girl who was only a year or two older than me opened the door and I held it while she disappeared around the corner to grab the coffee beans. I pulled my phone out of my pocket to check my recent messages but there was nothing from Zane yet.
I sighed and placed it back in my pocket, then looking around the corner to try and see if I could spot the girl. She had just vanished.
I turned around to look inside the coffee shop and as I did, someone raced up from behind me and covered my mouth. I struggled agains the hand but I was lifted up and dragged out the door, it slamming back against the wall heavily.
I squirmed as much as I could but I was dragged toward the back parking lot where one old car sat. The man, or woman, opened the trunk and tossed me in and before I could climb out it slammed closed.
Fear blinded me and I banged as hard as I could on the trunk to either open it or hope someone could hear me. But nothing.
"Help me!" I screamed as loud as I could. "Please! Hello?!"
No one heard me. No one would hear me.
I could only count on Zane. Especially since I didn't have my phone, I didn't have anyway to be found.
