When You Go Missing - Lloyd
After much consideration, I have decided to merge the next few points of Lloyd's girlfriend and Zane's together. They will be missing together. SO, Z/G/N is Zane's girlfriend, and L/G/N is Lloyd's.
I had gotten back to the monastery yesterday night when tensions were incredibly high and all the ninja were yelling at each other. Sensei was simply watching, not yet knowing how he was to engage, and Nya was nowhere to be seen. When I eventually figured out what was happening, I realized Zane's girlfriend was missing.
Zane had gone to meet his girlfriend for coffee but she wasn't there, but her book was, and her phone was on the ground near the back entrance. It was an old coffee shop so there wasn't surveillance, or modern surveillance anyway, so all Zane had for information was from the barista who informed him that the girl walked to the bathroom and didn't come back. That's when Zane got worried. Z/G/N wouldn't just disappear.
I was in my room that night staring at the ceiling. I watched the fan spin around and around and I just concentrated on the one thing that couldn't change. My hands were laying on my stomach and I was in my favorite hoodie - well, Lloyd's favorite hoodie - so I could feel safe and comfortable. My door to my room opened and I watched Lloyd walk in, close the door, and hop on the bed next to me, also staring at the ceiling. "Penny for your thoughts?" he asked softly. I sighed and curled into his side, wrapping my arm around his stomach and laying my head on his chest. He immediately warmed up to me and held me close. "I just never think about these things actually happening, you know?" I asked, earning a hum in response from Lloyd. "I mean, I hear about it, and I know it happens, but not to people like Z/G/N. She's so sweet and amazing, she would never hurt a fly."
"Well, it's made us start to think that it's because of us," Lloyd responded while running a hand through my hair. "What do you mean?" I asked in confusion. He shrugged lightly, "Like you said, Z/G/N is nice and would never hurt anyone, either that made her a perfect target or dating Zane did. Whoever did this could be trying to get back at us or get information."
I frowned and clenched onto Lloyd's shirt - something he took notice of and held me closer. "You know I can fight, right? If something happens - "
"Don't start talking like that," he warned, it clearly being something he never wanted to think about. "I've already had this conversation with your brother, Y/N. I don't want to hear it again, please."
I nodded, "Okay, yeah," and then closed my eyes, trying to get the image of Z/G/N out of my head. I was closest with her out of all the ninja's girlfriends. They were all amazing, but since I lived between the monastery and the city I ran into Z/G/N more and we had some classes together at school. She was my good friend, and I don't even know if she's alive.
I fell asleep pretty quickly after my conversation with Lloyd. We were both exhausted, but when I awoke the next morning, Lloyd was gone and I was left with just Nya in the monastery as the guys and Sensei had left to try and find Z/G/N.
I was making lunch in the kitchen when I heard something strange around the corner and when I looked up, there was no one there. I went back to putting mustard on my sandwich when I heard something fall behind me in the hallway and I turned around again, not seeing anything. I furrowed my eyebrows and called out "Nya?" to which there was no answer.
I pursed my lips and rounded the corner, "Nya? Is that you?"
I heard a faint "I'm in the garden!" coming from outside and I shrugged, shaking off the noise and attributing it to me just being worried over nothing. I continued making my sandwich.
I heard footsteps in the hallway off the kitchen and I froze, keeping my head down as I debated my options. Nya was outside through the front door, but these footsteps approached from the back door. Someone was in this house with me.
Slowly, I grabbed a large steak knife from the knife storage and gripped the handle in my hand. I turned around and faced no one. Carefully, I walked behind the counter and the table, then the corner, facing no one again. Was I just being paranoid?
When I turned around to go back to the kitchen, I gasped as I was facing a person in a navy blue hoodie with a black ball cap on. I screamed but the man shoved me back against the wall. I swung my arm up with my knife but he grabbed my hand and knocked the knife out of it, it slicing my palm deep. I yelled out in pain and tried to get away, but he grabbed me by the shoulders and threw me across the room. I slid on the dining room table and knocked a glass down, then landing on shards of it on the other side. I was in so much pain. I was seeing spots all over and it took all my strength to get up again. "Y/N?" Nya's voice rang out as I heard the front door open. "Nya!" I screamed as loud as I could before being tugged up again and a knife stopping at my throat as my intruder held me tight. Nya froze when she saw us and her eyes widened. I watched her hold her hands up but her bracelet was flashing and I knew she just pressed the alarm for her brother to come help her. Hopefully quickly.
I whimpered and a tear fell from my eye and Nya remained still in front of me. My attacker's hand was trembling.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes to think, and then I reacted, my hands shooting up to grab onto his wrist and yank the knife to the ground and my body twisting around. I brought my knee up to slam it into his crotch and the man dropped while I sprinted to the other side of the room, trying to get to safety. Nya ran forward and swung her arm out, punching the man in the jaw. However, it hardly fazed him and he pulled something out of his pocket and pushed it into Nya's side and she seized before collapsing to the ground. He had a taser. I gasped and tried to run when he grabbed me again and threw me with full force into the wall. I groaned on the floor and struggled to breathe, knowing he broke or fractured one or more of my ribs. I struggled to my feet and grabbed a wooden chair from the table. I picked it up and swung it as hard as I could at the man and he yelled out, falling backwards and hitting his head on the wall. There was a cut on his cheek.
I ran but he got to his feet and pulled me up again, wrapping his arms around my waist and dragging me backward out of the kitchen. I thrashed in his arms knowing the pain wouldn't matter if I could just escape. I screamed as loud as I could and used my fingers to latch onto the doorway but he tore them away from it. "Call Cole!" I screamed to our AI system in the kitchen. "Call Cole!" I screamed even louder.
The system clicked and as I was being dragged away I heard his worried voice, "Y/N? We got the alert, what's wrong?"
I was close to the back door when I heard his voice and I sobbed, knowing it may be the last time I heard it. "Y/N? Y/N!"
"Cole!" I screeched. "Help me!"

The ninja entered the shop in a rush. They saw a broken chair, broken glass, a knife on the floor, things broken and wood chipped. Cole's eyes went wide. He ran forward to the kitchen where Nya was just regaining consciousness. She rubbed her eyes and groaned, seeing Kai's hand in front of her. She accepted the gesture and he helped her up, "What happened? Where's Y/N?"
She blinked a few times to try and remember and shook her head, "I-I don't remember. T-the security cameras?" the questioned, knowing the cameras covered every inch beside of the bedroom of the monastery and could be used to find her. Zane nodded and a minute later, everyone was gathered around the computer to watch the cameras. Cole was shaking with anger and with desperation for his sister and Lloyd was pacing back and forth while biting his nails.
"It's up," Jay announced, pulling Lloyd and the others to the computer to watch exactly what happened to Y/N Brookstone. "Right there," Kai said, pointing to a man coming in through the back door in a navy hood. They couldn't see his face. "The alarms are activated, how did he bypass them?" Jay wondered, "Y/N and Nya wouldn't turn them off," Kai joined in. "Nya, can you see if the alarm system was deactivated this morning?" Jay called out to the girl who was cleaning the kitchen while shaking. She turned around and nodded, then silently walking off. "Okay, he's rounding the corner, there's Y/N," Lloyd said while watching Y/N make a sandwich and call Nya's name. "She knew something was wrong, Cole," Zane assured him. "You trained her well."
Cole watched as the girl grabbed a knife and turned around, "And she had a weapon," Kai added, "She didn't go down without a fight."
Cole sucked in a breath as he watched his sister get slammed against the wall. He watched her fight back, kicking, punching, and crying out. He watched her face express pain and fear, but also determination. He watched Nya drop to the ground. "I can't watch this," Lloyd said quietly. "I feel sick," he gagged, running off to another room and emptying his lunch into a trash can. "I'll go check on him," Jay told the others while standing to his feet and walking off. Cole took Jay's place and sat down, rewinding the video. "Cole," Zane told him, "This won't help find your sister."
He shook Zane away, "I need to see this."
He watched the entire video again. He watched his sister scream for his help. And he couldn't do anything to help her. "The alarms were deactivated this morning for ten minutes. I was outside and it didn't beep, there was no way for us to know," Nya called out as she jogged into the room. "This guy is smart."
Zane closed his eyes and shook his head, "What are the chances the same person took Z/G/N and L/G/N?"
Kai took a deep breath, "We have a description from a witness outside the coffee shop that matches this guy. I'd say those chances are pretty high."
"So what is this, a ransom?" Nya asked.
Cole shook his head, "I don't think so. This guy isn't very organized, he was barely able to over power you guys, but he knew we would be out of the house. I think he wants a challenge or information."
"Do the girls know information that he would want?" Nya wondered. Kai nodded, "We all talk to our girlfriends about our training and missions. Even if they don't know it, they know a lot. All of our battle plans and strategies, our weaknesses, strengths, everything. This guy could take us down if he gets that information."
"So we just have to hope they don't say anything," Nya said. Jay walked back in, "We can't ask them to do that," he disagreed.
"He's right," Zane spoke up. "I would never ask my girlfriend to withstand torture in order to keep my secrets. I would rather her talk and be safe and figure something out later."
"L/G/N, too," Cole added. Nya frowned, "Why didn't he take me? I know everything, too, and he could have taken me. Why leave me there?"
"You've trained with us, you're a Samurai. You would be harder to break, and I think this guy wants easy. He's probably an amateur or working for someone else," Kai answered.
Cole closed the laptop, "So we have to figure out what his endgame is. And we have to do it fast."
