When You Go Missing - Jay
"You're gonna' be careful, right?" Jay asked as he leaned on the door frame of the monestary, a grin on his face. "Yes," I replied with a chuckle, pecking his lips quickly. "I wish I could walk you home but Sensei wants us to have a meeting," he sighed, a frown overtaking his features. "It's fine, Jay," I shrugged. "I'm perfectly capable of walking home. Remember, I'm a kick butt with a wrench," I smirked, fastening my backpack on my shoulders with my phone tucked in the pocket.
"Yeah, I remember," Jay laughed, remembering vividly our first encounter. "Be careful?" He asked once more while raising an eyebrow and extending her arm to reach for me as I took a step back. "Yes, Jay. I'm fine, I'll be careful," I groaned in playful annoyance as he tugged me back to him.
I placed my hands on his chest and raised on my tiptoes to give Jay another kiss. "Call me when you get home?" He asked.
I nodded, "Yes, I will call you when I get home. If I ever get out of here! Come on, I promise I'll be careful. Better?"
Jay grinned, "Better."
I pulled a smile on my face and turned around, heaving my backpack onto my other shoulder so it was evenly on my back. "Bye, babe!" I called out, looking over my shoulder to wave at the blue ninja at the door. "Bye, Y/N!"
I walked away, humming a soft tune to myself as I hopped down the long array of stairs leading to the ground where a short journey on the outskirts of the village would lead me to the city.
My scooter was parked close to the outskirts of the city and was in visual distance.
Today had been a good day, a great day. Prom tickets were almost going on sale, only a few weeks from it.
I had aced an AP Statistics test. I had built a new invention with BF/N. I had gone over to Jay's to hang out, we hung out with the others, shared laughs, and now I was going to have a great sleep for Friday tomorrow.
I hopped off the last step and saw my scooter in distance. I immediately swung my backpack to one side to fetch my keys when I heard something behind me. I turned around, trying to figure out where I need the twig snap. However, when I turned around, a hand slapped over my mouth and I screamed, my shouts and cries for help muffled by someone's hand. I kicked, trying to free myself from being dragged backwards, but it was no use.
My backpack was tugged off of me and I hoped that that could be the end. Maybe he just wanted the bag.
His hand skipped from my mouth and I screamed as loud as I could, hoping that the ninja above could hear me. "Jay! Help me!" I screamed.
The hand returned over my mouth and something hit me in the back of the head and suddenly I wasn't screaming anymore.

It was a little after dawn when the ninja hopped down the stairs of the monestary, preparing to go on a morning run. Jay laughed at a joke Lloyd made and went to speak up when Kai nudged his shoulder, "Isn't that Y/N's scooter?" He wondered, pointing to the blue vehicle at the bottom of the stairs.
Jay looked and was immediately filled with worry, "Why is it here? She left late last night and -"
"Maybe she decided to walk and get the exercise," Cole shrugged. Jay rushed down the stairs, his friends right behind him. "Is that her backpack?" Zane questioned as they got to the bottom, all rushing to the scooter. "Jay?" He asked again as the blue ninja didn't respond and picked up the bag.
"Yes," he whispered, pulling open the bag and noticing her phone was inside. "She didn't call me last night. I figured she went to bed," he muttered.
"Okay just wait a second," Kai jumped in, trying to think rationally. "Don't assume the worst just yet. Maybe she wanted -"
"No!" Y/N's voice screamed, her tone proving she was in great distress. Something cracked under the weight, a stick snapping as someone stepped on it. Y/N's screams became muffled, more twigs snapping and grass ruffling violently. "Jay! Help!"
"Where did you find that?" Jay demanded, whipping around as the audio recording played. Lloyd looked up, "It was near the scooter," he admitted, his voice stuck in his throat once Jay snatched it from his hands, inspecting it for further examination.
"It's addressed to us," he gulped, seeing The Ninja written sloppily on the back. "She's gone..."
