When He Finds You - Cole
There was nothing for me here. I had been an orphan for years and lived with my best friend. I never had friends or family to turn to aside from BF/N. I was always scared I would be left alone to fend for myself. I was a dancer, a pathetic dancer. And my boyfriend shared information with my that could very well get me killed. And he's not even here to help me.
I can't tell this guy anything about what Cole has told me. I would be endangering Cole and his team, and probably Ninjago since that information I knew was crucial to our country's safety.
I had been slapped countless times. At this point I didn't remember how many or even what day it was. I had no idea how long I had been in this stupid dark room with mold lingering in the corner and water dripping not three feet from me probably from a damaged water pipe.
"You have one more chance," the man in the hoodie grumbled before me. I lifted my heavy head and looked at him, "I already told you," I whispered. "I don't know anything."
The man slapped me again and I cried out in pain. As the whimper left my mouth, the door to the basement slammed open and five people in colored gis stood in the doorway. "You go left," Cole ordered Kai who responded to the command with a nod.
My captor grabbed a knife from his ankle and sliced the binds on my wrist. He tugged me upward and dragged me back with his knife pressed against my throat. "Whoa, whoa," Jay stammered while holding out a hand. "Hold on, man."
"You don't have to hurt her," Lloyd spoke up. I glanced at Cole and he was silent. His eyes showed hurt and shame and I squeezed my eyes closed and dropped my head.
"She refused to tell me a word about your operations. You must be a horrible boyfriend if you won't talk to your sweetheart at all," the man sneered. "Stop," I begged as my heart ached for Cole to understand that I didn't say he was a horrible boyfriend. "You neglected her for three days."
"Stop!" I cried out again while shaking my head and opening my eyes to see Cole. Our eyes met and I could see his expression change to a stone cold one. "Y/N," he said softly. "It's fine. Okay? I don't believe him, I shouldn't."
I didn't see Zane in the group before me and I took a deep breath. I didn't know what these guys were planning but I had been through so much and at this point I had accepted death.
"Make your move, ninja," the man encouraged. "We already have," Kai responded. Jay took the hint and flicked his wrist and immediately the light when off. The man grunted behind me and I was tossed to the ground. I hit the cement hard and I felt a cut on my forehead open. I stayed down because I didn't know what I would do if I got up.
But when the lights flickered back on, I glanced around and saw the man in binds with a large slice on his arm. Zane shuriken laid nearby and I assumed he threw it at my captor since it sliced through his sweatshirt. I nearly threw up when I saw his face. Not because I recognized him, but because he wasn't much older than me. I knew at once that whatever he did to me wasn't his choice. He was working for someone else.
I took large breaths on the ground and brought my knees up while covering my face with my hands. Tears streamed down my cheeks and I felt weak all at once. I placed my hands on the ground and tried to gain strength to lift myself up but I fell right back down and cried out.
Cole was at my side in a second and held my face in his hands. "Hey, hey," he whispered. "I'm here. I'm right here."
I looked at his eyes and let out a sob which he muffled by pulling me to him. As I wept into his shoulder, I saw Kai turn around and punch the man in the face. He shook out his hand and rolled his eyes at the glare Lloyd was now giving him. But instead of laughing like I normally would, I gripped onto Cole's gi and cried into his suit. He pulled me closer and I swore I heard him sniffle. "You should have told him everything, Y/N."
I cried harder.
"I would have understood."
I shook my head, "You told me that because I could keep it a secret. I had to keep it a secret."
Cole did tell me everything. I just couldn't tell.
