"If cake dies, I die.", said a voice. The people at the table stared at the black-haired teen. A brown-headed boy said something about killing off the cake race, along with the black-haired boy. A brunette shook his head and gave an eye roll, with the slightest of smiles. Although he was thinking it wasn't a bad idea...

A blonde with hair that was almost white looked concerned. "But if cake is not a living object, then how can it die?" The girl with raven hair laughed, while the first brown-headed boy face palmed. 

"Zane, just-never mind.", said the brunette, patting his friend's thick hair as he laughed with his amber eyes blinking slowly a he laughed. The brown headed boy(who's name was Jay)looked up and smiled. 

"Well, Cole", he said nodding to the black-haired boy. "Your savior is here!" A blond paired boy, with a young face and green eyes, walked over and say down beside Cole. The brunette named Kai chuckled as he nudged the girl with the black hair. Her name was Nya;she was his sister. Cole's eyes were gleaming. 

"Better watch out, Lloyd! Cole's on a rampage." Cole immediately grabbed a large chocolate cupcake, and mercilessly gobbled it down. Everyone else grabbed a small cupcake and ate it, although they were much slower than Cole. I'm sorry. I haven't told you exactly who everyone is, and what they look like. 

The first one is Cole Brokstone, who ha black hair and cloudy chocolate brown eyes. He a bit of a mono-tone guy, but very nice and exciting all at the same time. Cole is the strongest on the team, and usually wore black, gray, or brown. Right nowhere was wearing a black tank top and blue jeans, the color fading at the knees. His gray sneakers had mud splatters on them, and were covered in dirt and dust, from running, doing sports, and getting muddy. Most of the dirt and mud on his shoes was from tuning rocks into dust and more. You see, just like everyone else at the table, Cole had an elemental power, or ability you could say. Some people said they had a keen sense with nature. His element was Earth. 

The seconds person, who was sitting on his right side, was Jay. Jay had brown hair, electric blue eyes, and though his hair used to be straight, it now had a nice wave to it. Unlike Cole, Jay was very loud and rarely ever afraid to say what came to his mind. Unless of course, it involved Nya. His friends called him blabber mouth, but he was also smart when he wants to be. Jay was always in royal blue clothing of some sort. Today it was a white shirt with grease stains, black pants, blue jacket, and white and blue sketchers. His element was Lightning, which made sense because he was like a lightning bolt. Fast, and always moving, but slow enough so that you can see him clearly. 

Next to Jay sat his girlfriend, Nya. She had wavy, black hair, which she usually kept short in a bob, but let it grow out this summer. Her eyes were blue as well, and like Jay, she wore blue. Instead of royal blue, her main colors were light blue, and gray, while they used to be red and blue, so she still wore red like her brother sometimes. At the moments he wore a light blue tank top, with a red necklace and bracelet, faded blue jeans with ocean blue high tips. Her shirt had a picture of the ocean, with bright flowers around it. The design was slightly covered by her gray and black jacket. She was very emotional sometimes, but she was better able to keep her emotions in check. Her element was water, which best suited her. On her other side was Kai. 

Kai was a hot head, and also overly protective of his sister, Nya. Especially around Jay. He was a brunette with spiky hair, and amber eyes. Red was his favorite color and he always wore it, no matter what. Right now he wa wearing a red hoodie, jeans with ripped knees, and orange convers with the word "Kailor" written in sharpie on the side of them. (That was the ship name for him and his girlfriend, Skylor.) His element was fire, causing the IPA of his fingers an plans to be rough an hard, to protect ten from his flames.

At his side was Zane, who's hair was almost white, and very thick. He had blue eyes that were colored like ice. Zane was a robot, and they called him a nindroid. He might as well have been human, because like his girlfriend, he had emotions and feelings, and was more human than an actual human-being. No one knew he was a robot because he could change his outwar appearance from his titanium form, to his human form. It was quite an advantage. Zane wore a simple white t-shirt, with lightly colored jeans, and white tennis shoes. Zane was the smart and sensible one, but he also had some humor(admittedly, it was when he wasn't trying to be funny at all, but still). He had the element of ice. 

And last but not least, Lloyd. Lloyd had slightly wavy, blond hair, milky green eyes, and was the youngest of the group. Lloyd wore green everyday. (If you haven't noticed, they all have a color scheme.) At the moment he wore a green sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black vans, and a leather watch. He had the element of energy, which was a combination of earth, fire, ice, and lightning-the main elements. Energy was the greatest element known. 

"So... Tomorrow is the first day of the school year.", Nya said wistfully. 

"And the last year of highschool. Thank the First Spinjitzu Master!", replied Jay. 

"So when are you two going to get married?", asked Llpyd with a smirk. Nya choked a bit on her water, and Jay turned as red as Kai's hoodie. 

"No one. Is marrying my sister!", Kai said as he clenched his hands. (Just wait until season 10 Kai. You're the one coaching Jay on how to do it!) His eyes blazed and small sparks flew around him. Jay turned plae and broke into a cold sweat. 

"Woah-calm down, Kai! We don't want the whole bakery to know your a dragon.", Cole joked. 

"Technically, only Lloyd is part dragon-"

"He's kidding, Zane.", Lloyd said groaning. After a few minutes, Kai was calmed down. 

"Aaaaanyways. What electives are you guys taking?", Nya asked. 

"I'm doing sports this year, but that's nothing new.", said Cole. "And I'm in Music class."

"You're singing?!", asked Jay shocked that his friend would be doing tht class. 

"Of course not!"

"Dancing?", asked Kai. 

"What? Absolutely not!"

"Stage crew?"

"No! I'm the tech guy." There was silence for a few seconds. 

"Well, I'm taking culinary classes(like he needs them)again, and computer, and art, and-"

"We get it, Zane. Same a. Always.", Kai said as he smirked at his nerdy friend. "I'm doing basketball this year, and football. Welding, and Automotive. How about you, Jay?"

"I'm in Automotive, baseball, football, track, and that's probably it. Nya?"

"Life Guard safety classes, softball, track, self-defense(seriously. Do they need these classes? She a ninja!), one act play, drama, music, art, and dual credits." Nya replied with a smile. (Notice that they don't interrupt her? That's because they know not to.) Lloyd was dumbfounded, Kai coughed out something about being an overachevier, Cole shook his head with a chuckle, and Jay gushed over how amazing she was. 

"We'll be in track together!", squealed Jay as he hugged Nya. Kai boiled while Zane smiled.  

"I am glad someone else is doing Dual Credits as we'll. 'Welcome to the family', Nya.", said Zane, shaking Nya's hand. They both smiled as Kai sulked about the thought of Nya and Jay together...ALONE! On a bus of high schoolers...with Cole there to not pay attention to them... 

"Nerds.", he muttered. 

"I'm taking dual credits too.", said Cole. "And I'm going to be the assistant coach for the middle-school football team."

"Is this a, see-if-you-like-this-job kind of thing?", asked Lloyd. Cole nodded. 

"You wanna become a Coach, Cole?", asked Jay surprised. 

"I'm pretty sure.", Cole replied with a wistful look on his face. Kai gagged, and then the group of teens talked about random subjects. Soon, Lloyd had to leave, and after that they slowly dispersed, each leaving in their own time to head home, back to the monastery. Kai was taking a detour to visit his parents, Jay and Nya were eating with Jay's parents, and Zane was heading to the grocery store. Lloyd had to get home to help his mom with some scroll organization before thy had I make dinner. Cole was the last to go. He stood at the doorway ignoring the dirty-looks most people were giving him and the whispers about his friends, taking in the delicious scents. Smiling, he opened his eyes and walked out, only to find a girl in a hoodie standing at a lamppost, talking on a pay phone. Her arms were covered in grocery bags. Not a new sight. Cole just started to walk by, nodding a hello to the girl. She nodded back, revealing bright blue eyes. She continued to talk. 

"Yes, Aunt Lee. I have all the school stuff."

"..."

"Don't worry. I'm heading home now."

"..."

"Yes, Ma'am. Bye! Love you." After she finished talking, Cole was about to get out of heading distance, but she said something. 

"Um, excuse me?" Cole turned around. "Do you go to Ninjago High?" He smiled and nodded, a shadow covering part of his face. "Well, I'm-er-kind of new, and I was wondering if there is-you know-anything I should be prepared for?", she finished shyly. 

"Yah. Walk tall, ignore the whispers, and don't let them get to you." Cole saw the confused look on her face. "You'll understand tomorrow. G'night." 

"Thank you...? And-er-Goodnight." She then walked off, the bags on her arms. She softly sang the lyrics to "Dream" by Imagine Dragons, one of his favorite songs. "I wanna dream...leave me to dreeeaaamm..." He smiled. 'Good luck. You'll need it.", he thought walking off.

Thanks for reading guys! I know it's not much, but just be patient with me. I will try to update every two or three days. Also, the book is mainly focused on one ship, which you will see in the next chapter. Some characters may seem like Mary Sues, but please know I am gong off of real people for some. So have fun, and I am typing chapter 2 right now. (I already have the prat 5 written I just need tittle them.) 

Also-I jut realized this but I didn't mention-this is set ftwr all the seasons. You can imagine it at any time period, as long as it is after Season 10 and 11. And also, Kai goes back and forth in the whole "You can marry my sister-NO YOU CANNOT!" thing. Jut to let you know. Also, if some of the future chapters are bad, I'm terrible at writing the slowly growing relationship stuff. I just like to jump into it all because I go fangirl crazy with mah ships.
