That picture is by far the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. It's where I got the inspiration for almost the beginning of the chapter.

Warning!-This chapter may trigger some things. Also, I would suggest 13+ readers. My friends love the chapter so I hope you do too, but they screamed... -_-

-I know that the last chapter sucked, but I'm trying. These next few chapters will probably be really bad too, so just hang in there with me:)-

Skylor's POV:

When Nya and I pulled into school we were greeted by a strange sight. At first I didn't see it until Nya pointed it out. She was in the passenger seat of my orange convertible, her black bangs flying in the breeze. Nya had done our hair into the space buns, and I personally thought we looked very cute. Her bangs were simply covering her forehead with a few strand on the sides, while my layers were very thick, and hung over my ears. Being me, I had placed an orange flower on each bun. It was just a small clip, but they were made of my birth stone, Topaz. It was a gift for my last birthday from Kai. On Nya's birthday last year, she had gotten a blue pendant necklace from Jay. It reflected her blue eyes, and she had decided to wear it today. We both had the striped shirt and plain skirt, although they were different colors. Nya's was grey and white, covering her arms to her elbows, and her skirt was a gorgeous blue. Mine was a white and pale orange shirt with a light grey skirt. I had to borrow the skirt from Nya because I couldn't find a matching orange skirt. We were both excited to see how Pixal and Hannah had managed. Pixal would probably use her 3d printer to make an outfit.

As we turned into the parking lot, Nya shook my right arm. "Look at the flagpole!", she said with a laugh. Following her gaze, I saw a teal low rider quickly going in a circle around the tall pole. A mop of the brown hair I adored so much was stuck out of the window, hollering and whooping as his red shirt flapped in the wind. The boy was in the driver's seat, holding onto the wheel as he directed the car in a donut. He must have been going 90mph! Apparently he was having a blast. As he drove in his circle, he passed in front of us. I saw two familiar amber eyes underneath that brown hair, and a crazy smile on his perfect face. It was my boyfriend, Kai. I saw Cole in the passenger seat, sleeveless black hoody pressed tight against his white shirt. His eyes were wide

open and he was freaking out as he held onto that thing on the top of the car above the seat. (You know. That handle thing.)

In the backseat was a boy in a green shirt and black jacket, with blond hair. I instantly recognize him as Lloyd. He was just casually sitting in the back of the car, listening to music, one hand pulling a side of the green headphones off his ear. A confused look was on his face while he seemed to try and figure out why Cole was screaming at Kai. And duct taped to the top of the car in a blue tank top, light brown hair blowing in the wind as he bawled his eyes out, was the one and only-

"Oh, shoot! That's Jay!", Nya yelled as she hopped out of the car while I slammed on the brakes. Immediately, she was running towards her lunatic brother, chasing after the car. "KAI! I KNOW YOU DON'T WANT ME TO HAVE A BOYFRIEND BUT DON'T KILL JAY! DON'T MAKE ME CALL MOM! KAI!!!" I wasn't sure whether to laugh or be worried about my boyfriend's mental state. Kai wouldn't hurt Jay. He had actually confessed to me one time that he was glad Jay would be his brother-in-law. He was just so stubborn and had such a big ego, he wouldn't admit it in front of Jay and the others. Especially not Nya. Although, it all was pretty funny. Kai was the one who coached Jay on how to propose to Nya when the Oni attacked Ninjago. Jay actually ended up proposing to her when he was afraid the Oni would win the fight. Luckily they didn't win thanks to Lord Garmadon. Lloyd almost died in the battle, but they all made it out alive. Before the Oni had come, these bike riders named the Sons of Garmadon had resurrected Lord Garmadon, and Harrumi was one of them. In fact, she was the leader they called "The Quiet One". Lloyd fell for her and he fell hard. He actually confessed to me at one point that he had fallen in love with her. His exact words after she died in the building collapse were, "I looked at her and saw myself." It really was a tragic love story, an even though he had met many other girls, like Akita for example, he was still in love with Harrumi. And it had been maybe 1 or 2 years since she died. None of the group was mad at Harrumi. They had all forgiven her for tricking them. Lloyd especially. He would always talk about how she gave up her life to save the lives of that family. It was exactly the same thing that had happened to her when the Great Devourer was released. Her parents gave up their lives to save her, and she was then adopted by the Emperor and Empress of Ninjago. Lloyd felt guilty at times because he was the one who released the serpentine, who then released the Great Devourer. He felt that if he had never done that, Harrumi's parents would still be alive, and so would she. He isn't sure if they would have met or not, but for her to be alive and unknown, was better than dying. Often, he'll wake in the middle of the night from nightmares. We'll find him the next morning sitting at the table playing with a cold cup of tea, or blindly watching tv in the living room. Kai told me it reminded him of the time when he was possessed by Morro's ghost form. Lloyd had long since forgiven Morro for it(even though every once and a while Morro will be reminded of it and feel absolutely terrible), but Lloyd would wake up from terrible nightmares or freak out when the lights were turned off. He was still mentally a child back then, even though he had the body of a teenager. Both events left him scarred for life. The poor boy. I always felt like an older sister to him. Well, more of an older sister-in-law. Still, Harrumi's turning made me really appreciate Kai. During that time out love strengthened. It really have us a whole new appreciation for each other. Kai and I hadn't started dating until then, and ever since then we had been inseparable. Although I was still a little annoyed that Dareth had ruined the chance of our first kiss after we defeated my father, by asking about puffy pot-stickers. Now, that was something both of us could laugh about. Kai pounded on the hood of my car, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Kai Smith, if you so much as scratch the pair on this car I will use your own power against you and burn your hair gel.", I threatened. His slightly tanned skin turned pale for a second as his hand instantly went up to his thick hair. He wasn't wearing hair gel today, but I knew he had at least 30 bottles of the green gel. His hair was soft even when it was gelled, but much more fun to play with and much softer when it wasn't styled. He knew that was my favorite way for him to wear his hair. Immediately regaining his composure, he popped open my door.

"You gonna get out or are you gonna sit there all day off in your own world?", he teased. I shook my head as I pulled my backpack out of the back seat, along with Nya's. Her backpack was a plain blue and grey one strap backpack that was very easy to hold, while mine was a heavy duty, orange backpack with little red ninja keychains, a penguin beanie boo clip, and decorated with sharpie by Kai and me. Kailor(our ship name) was across the front, matching his orange convers. Kai's own backpack was simply red and black, with some little patches I had down on for him. My favorite one was the bowl of noodles patch. I had crafted it myself.

"You know, I was planning on taking you to the park later today but now I don't think I want to let you in my car, lest you tape me to the hood of it.", I joked as I looped my own strong arm around his. He chuckled as we walked to where Nya was comforting Jay. Lloyd was just calmly leaning against the pole and scrolling through his phone, while Cole was frozen to the seat, not moving and his eyes filled with terror as he tried to calm his irregular breathing.

"So what did you think of my driving skills?"

"This is why you have a dragon instead of a car.", I simply said. Kai feigned a gasp.

"You just insulted me! How dare you!" I simply shrugged with a content smile on my face. We leaned against the car as we waited for Cole to get out, and for Jay to stop shaking in fear every time he looked at Kai. Leaning on his shoulder, his arm slid down to my waist. We looked so innocent as we stood there

Of course, Kai had to ruin that.

Next thing I know, a hand had slid to my lower back. And I mean lower lower back. He have it a slight squeeze causing a delightful sensation to go through me. I knew what he wanted. "Kai Smith, you are such a pervert.", I joked as I teasingly played with the hem of his jeans, fingers ghosting against his skin.

"No I'm not.", he denied. I have him a look. "I'm just a helpless romantic.", he confidently told me as while he rubbed circles into my hip. Jay had finally recovered from his terror, and Cole was talking to Lloyd as they started walking towards the front door of the large high school. I slowly pulled apart from Kai and pecked his lips, my stomach flopping. I had kissed him hundreds of times, but each one left me breathless. Placing my hands on his chest I looked into his eyes with a loving smile. Adoration shone in his eyes, and I was so glad I could make him happy. He drew me closer and kissed me passionately. Soon enough, his tongue was tracing my lips and it took all my will power to break the kiss.

"Not on the parking lot, Flamey. Although I hear the view from the cave in the park is fantastic.", I said smirking, knowing he got the hint. A smirk grew on his luscious lips as he traced my collar bone, leaving sparks everywhere he touched. His breath hitched when I slid my hands down his zipper. We started to head to the building as he made a comeback.

"Now who's the pervert, hm?", he asked. I shoved him to the side as he laughed.

"You shut up. Don't act so high and mighty. I was the one who even suggested anything the first time. You were too stcared to say anythng." He blushed a red as dark as his shirt.

"We were at a pool party, okay? We were surrounded by water.", he replied defiantly as we opened the double doors.

"Yah. I remember. I had to distract you from the water. I'm starting to think you're a cat."

"Why you little-" But I was already running down the halls and towards the meeting spot for us girls. Being me, I almost ran into someone.

"Sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going." The girl merely shrugged as she pressed her self against the wall, straightening the grey headband she wore.

"It's fine.", she said shortly, her grey eyes cast downward, voice muffled slightly as she dug her chin into her grey scarf. Everything about this girl was grey-her eyes, headband, scarf, her mood, even her tanned skin seemed to almost have a small tint of grey. The only thing that wasn't grey, was the black sleeveless sweater, and her long black hair. She had messy bags that seemed like they would get in her eyes, and seemed very closed off. She also kind of seemed to be a little depressed. The girl was also very gorgeous, with a perfect body shape and complexion. I turned to walk away, then stopped. She reminded me of someone...

"Hey. What's your name?" She shrugged again. So she didn't know her name?, I joked to myself, then mentally scolded my mean mind. She's probably just really shy.

"Sulfur." This girl really liked to talk in short sentences.

"So are you new here?" She shook her head.

"No. I've been gong here for a about a year now." She talked longer! Yes! Progress.

"Oh! You were last year's Prom Queen!", I exclaimed in remembers car. Her eyes darkened slightly, telling me her mood changed. I tired to change the subject. "Hey. Uh, so weird question. But, do you know someone named Shade?" She frowned.

"He's my twin." I nodded.

"He never told us about you.", said as I thought out loud.

"Haven't talked to him since I was 14."

"You haven't talked to your brother in 4 years?!"

"Yes. I need to go. Bye." I felt guilty about butting in on family business, so I grabbed her shoulder gently. She gave me a look. You know, that what-the-heck-do-you-think-you're-doing-get-your-freakin-hand-off-me look. I quickly removed my hand. Her eyes looked deep into my soul. It kind of freaked me out. Suddenly, the air seemed thicker, like their was a gas in it. Like the gas Sulfur. (Haha. Jay would be proud of that one.)

"Hey. I'm sorry. You know, for getting in your personal business I have a tendency to do that." She have me a thin smile.

"You know, you're the first person to actually try and talk to me in 2 years. What's your name?"

"Skylor Chen. I own the noodle shop downtown." She nodded as she shook my hand.

"Cool. That's one of my favorite places. And it's okay, Skylor."

"If you want, you could sit with me and the other girls at lunch. They would love you."

"Maybe but I need to go now. I have an early tutoring session today." I waved as we parted ways. I was glad to make a new friend.

Now I had a mission to get back to-the other girls were waiting.

When I got to the trophy cabinet, the girls were leaning against the case, on their phone(Nya), reading a book(Pixal), and drawing a comic(Hannah). Hannah was absolutely rocking the opposite colors, and Pixal was the perfect girl for the cute space buns and dress she wore. She wore a light purple and white striped long sleeve shirt with a matching light purple skirt. The dress just added to her innocent look(but we all knew she could be a troll sometimes). Just to add to it, she even had sparkling sandals that reminded me of snow. "Hey, guys."

"Hey, Sky! What took you so long?", Nya asked as she gave me a knowing smirk.

"Oh nothing.", I replied smoothly. "I just got a date with Kai tonight though. We're going to the park. Gonna go check out that new cave."

"They're gonna CANOODLE!", Hannah squealed as she jumped up and down. Pixal and Nya just laughed as I tried to quiet her down.

"What in tarnation do you mean?" She gave me a look and I read her mind. "Oh my gosh-Hannah! I thought you were innocent!" She merely shrugged with a small giggle.

"Think again. You don't know half the things I think about." Nya just laughed as I shook my head.

"Oh? What do you think about?" We all turned to Pixal with matching expressions. The innocent soul. "Do you think about your job? Because that is perfectly normal." I blinked.

"Pixal...have you ever had what's called 'The talk' with Borg?", I asked. She nodded.

"I have had many talks with Cyrus. He is quite the companion to converse with." Hannah face-palmed as Nya shook her head.

"No. I mean, the talk about...ah..."

"How babies are made.", blurted Nya. Hannah choked on her spit.

"Oh! I have always had that information in my systems. It is a very popular subject in today's media." Hannah and Nya looked like they would faint from laughter.

"Oh, my...Well would you look at the time!", I said as the bell rang, it's screech interrupting our moment. "See you guys in Gym!", I said as I walked towards my Science class. Nya waved as she walked towards the library for her library time. Pixal and Hannaj went to their Math class, giggling as they talked about the subject of pi. We didn't realize how much of a nerd Hannah was until Drama yesterday. I mean, she enjoys school? Now not every day, but she likes taking tests. And it only gets worse when Pixal joins in, because everyone knows Pixal is one of the biggest nerds of all time. And then Zane enters the picture. They end up talking about their future Science Fair projects. I mean, what is going on in their minds? I understand Pixal and Zane being nerds because they are robots, but Hannah? She seems human, but I'm starting to think she may be from the planet of Nerdsalot. And don't get me starts on when Jay joins them. He's the class clown, but also one of the biggest nerds on the team, aside from Zane. And then when they start talking about English class, Kai pops out of know where. No matter how he denies it, we all know how much of a nerd for Language Arts he is. No one else but me knows this, but he actually won first place for a short story contest two times on a row!

I shook my head as I walked into Science. What a crazy world we live in. But I love it.

Pixal's POV:

Zane appeared out of no where as we tuned down the hall. "Hello." You look very nice today, Pixal. You two Hannah.", he greeted us as he walked on my other side, his hand slipping into mine. My system glitched, and one of the wires in my arm sparked from his touch.

"Heya!", Hannah greeted.

"Hello.", I replied to my boyfriend as I pecked his cheek. The word chorused in my mind. Boyfriend...It felt natural yet strange. I love Zane with all my heart, and I knew he felt the same. Just the concept of live was hard for me to grasp. I was a robot. I wasn't supposed to feel things. But after Zane gave me half of his heart to save me, I began to feel things like he did. I became more human. A robot with feelings. A human that was a robot. Not everything about it was understandable. Even my creator, Cyrus Borg was still trying to figure it all out. He finally came to the conclusion that there are some things that cannot be explained. And that was that, as the others say.

Zane's cheeks turned pink from my kiss. If he wasn't in his human look, his cheeks would turn blue from his titanium skin. It was the cutest thing I had ever seen. "Alright you two love birds. Don't make me barf from your affection." Zane simply spun me around with a teasing smile and held me by the waist, bending us over and planting a kiss on my lips. "Aw yuck! My innocent eyes! Spare me!" We just smiled it other kiss as our lips moved in a dance. All my systems seems to over heat, and I felt more alive then the time when I had my first milkshake. Every time he kissed me, I always felt this way. I fell in love with him all over again everyday. Instead of pulling away, he straightened us, and pressed my back against the wall. His cold, metallic hand traced my cheek, and he kissed me harder with each passing minute. We had never kissed like this before. Once, Zane had told me that he loved trying new things, especially when it came to us. He loved trying new places to take me on dates. He loved trying new flirting techniques he picked up from Kai(although that was scary). And I guess he loved trying new ways to kiss. "Oh. You guys aren't stopping. Um...Imma just head on to class." Zane just responded by kissing me even harder. His mouth opened, and a cold tongue traced my lip, pleasure sending a shiver down my spine. I eagerly kissed back, trying to repeat his motions to the best of my ability. All too soon, he pulled away leaving me breathless.

"We should probably get to class." I nodded. He leaned in, kissing my nose. "I love you, Snowflake." I blushed as I gave him a hug. My power source heated in affection from the pet name, and I felt Zane's do the same. Having half of his heart, I had a sense of extreme understanding with him. Plus, I was a hologram in his head for a while, allowing me to learn all his secrets. He didn't mind that. We never kept anything from each other.

"I love you too, Zane.", I replied as we walked down the hall.

"Love you more.", he insisted when we walked into the room. I playfully poked him.

"Not as much as I love you.", I teased as we sat down. Hannah groaned.

"Yuck. Can't I just enjoy the fact that we have a test without you two being all google eyed?", she asked.

"Why, Hannah. I thought you hated Math."

"I do. But this is a test over pi and I know this stuff." Just then the bell rang, and the tardy kids ran in, scrambling to their desks before the bell finished ringing. Picking up my pencil, I patiently waited for my test to be handed to me. Finally it was time to begin, and I smiled as I filled out the answers. Another wonderful start to a wonderful day.

---

"95? I was so close! What did you two get?", Hannah asked as we walked to the highschool gym, comparing our test papers.

"100.", I responded.

"100 as well.", Zane said. Hannah groaned.

"But you two are geniuses! You're robots!", she stressed quietly.

"We turn off our connection to the media, and we go from memory. We also study as hard as we can. You should try it sometime." Hannah gasped as Zane smiled smugly. I giggled as his words rang through my head.

"Why you little-" She proceeded to chase him across the gym, Zane only being able to outrun her because of his stamina as a ninja. "I'm gonna-" She was stopped as he shut the door to the boys locker room, knowing fully well that she couldn't chase him into there. I laughed as we walked to our own locker room. When we entered we made small talk with Nya and Skylor a we slipped into the uniforms. I always found it awkward to change in front of others, so I used the showers. Nya had no problem with it, because slammed she had to change in front of the boys when they were on missions. But only when necessary. Skylor didn't really care. Hannah didn't like it, but she soon got used to it, realizing that no one was going to stare at her. I walked over to my locker, only to find Nya covering the door.

"Excuse me, Nya. I have to put my clothes in my locker." Being a droid, I didn't need deodorant, just like Zane, so we never had to worry about that.

"Um...you know what, why don't you go on out to Zane and I'll put them up for you?", she suggested as she tugged on her Ninjago High gym uniform. I immediately knew something was up.

"Nya? What is the matter?"

"Nothing! Nothing at all-", I gently pushed her aside as my eyes scanned the locker door. All that was written on it was one word, but it was a word that had always scarred me. In bright silver sharpie it said "FREAK", written in large letters so that it covered the whole door. Being a machine, I couldn't cry. That's all I am. A machine...

"Hey, what's-" I could have sworn I saw a blood vessel pop in Skylor's neck. Hannah walked over to see what was wrong.

"Oh my gosh-frickin-frickin farts!", she turned to the group of girls on the locker room, most of which were applying makeup. "Who in Ninjago did this?!"! Nya tried to take the more sensible approach as she attempted to calm her down. "Calm down?", Hannah fumed. "How I am I supposed to calm down, when my best friend is hurt?!" Skylor looked ready to beat whoever did it up. I simply have a straight face, opened the locker door, put my things in, and closed it, waking out the door. Hannah and Skylor calmed down as they followed me, Nya immediately in two free giving the girls in the room a glare that could kill.

"Pixal-" I turned to Nya.

"It's fine.", I said as I palate red on a fake smile. "Really. I just need to go get some water." As I walked out I heard Skylor mumble to the two girls.

"I swear by the First Spinjitzu Master that I will find out who did this."

Hannah's POV:

I was mad. Very mad. Like, I could kill somebody kind of mad. I could tell the toners were too. Nya usually tried to keep her emotions in check, and she had done great so far. But as soon as Pixal left, a battle seemed to rage in her mind. I could see it written all over her face. Skylor didn't care about keeping her emotions controlled. She was very much like Kai in that way. Her eyes turned purple, a neon purple that could only mean one thing-revenge. I made a mental note to ask her about their while eye color changing thing. Now how was I feeling aside from wanting to kill someone? Oh I was doing fine. Just fine.

No I wasn't. I wanted to go and rip out the heart of whoever do this to her. They hurt my best friend, jut because she looked different. I knew what it felt like to be bullied. I had been made fun of my whole life. It cuts deep through the soul every time. I finally stopped feeling the pain if it right away. It would always wait until I was alone, or I made a mistake. Then it chiseled away at my heart, false thoughts and words ringing through my mind. I could only think of how Pixal felt. I mean, we all knew she was different, but she didn't mind us making remarks about it. It was all playful, and she thought is was funny. But when someone said it to hurt hit on purpose...she wished she didn't have emotions. Why, she was more human than the rest of us. You know the saying grown ups are always telling you? "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." News flash. Words hurt and they cut deep. Grown ups of all people should know that.

Skylor swore under breath, causing Nya and me to look at her in shock. "Sky!" Skylor had warned us that her father and his advisor, Clouse, swore all the time, and it was a hard habit for her to break.

"Sorry. It's just-ugh! The nerve of people these days!" The bell rang and Pixal walked in. It didn't show, but we knew she was hurt. After trying to comfort the girl, Skylor and Nya had to go to Volleyball. Off-season was headed to the other gym, so we had to start walking in that direction. Instead of trying to comfort her with words, I gave her silence. Words were what had hurt her. Whenever I was hurt, I always liked to be alone to my thoughts, or listening to my music. I wasn't sure how it was for Pixal, but I tried my best to let her think things through.

Zane walked over with a smile, his eyes sparkling. His expression immediately changed to worry when he saw Pixal. As we walked outside to the other gym, he put an arm around her waist. "Snowflake? What is the matter? I sense pain. But you do not appear to be wounded...?" It was too much for the poor girl, and she broke into sobs. "Pixal?! What happened?!", he asked as she clutched his shirt, her tearless cries shaking her body. "Shh...", he said soothingly. When she finally stopped, he stared her in the eyes. Giving her his full attention, he held her by the waist.

"Zane...I am not feeling well. May we go to the Borg tower?" He nodded and turned to me.

"Hannah, will you explain the situation to Alta please?" Alta was our off-season coach, and she did a surprisingly good job. She also didn't judge people, and she understood teenagers perfectly. I nodded as he walked her towards the principal's office to sign them out. As they entered Ito the building, I sighed as I started to walk towards the gym. A mop of blond hair appeared beside me, green eyes hiding underneath the messy bangs.

"Hey, Warheads!", Lloyd exclaimed as he put an arm around my shoulder.

"Hey, Candyboi.", I said sadly. His smile turned to a frown.

"What's wrong?" I explained what had happened to him. He sighed as we walked. Lloyd was originally going to do Football, but he changed his mind on the second day of school. It just didn't work with his schedule, especially being the Green Ninja. Now, the girls and Zane were the only ones who were aware that I knew they were the ninja, so all the boys didn't. It was then that I noticed the forming of a bruise on the side of his chin.

"Lloyd! Are you okay?", I asked worriedly as I peered at the light green splotch, fingers ghosting the bruise to asses how bad it was.

"Yah. I'm fine." I released an angry breath.

"Why does everyone keep getting hurt today?!" Lloyd sighed as he shook his head, leaning against the wall beside the door to the gym.

"Well...that's what happens when everyone hates you. I'm surprised I haven't gotten a black eye yet. Usually by the second day I have one.", he said with fake optimism.

"But why?", I stressed, even though I knew the ridiculous answer. "Why would they hate you because of what they're told?"

"People believe what they're told, Hannah. I I told you I had a piece if gum, you'd believe me. Plus, people will say otherwise, but they'll get heir hands on whatever gossip they can find. It's a sad reality. But," he said with a smile as he shoved an elbow Ito my side gently. "That's why there's people like you out there. Now come on. Let's get to gym." Smiling, I followed him through the doors. Oh yah. He'd been adopted as my little brother already.

---

Sliding into my seat on the bench, I threw the heavy lunch box on the table. For a small girl, I could sure eat a lot. Cole peered into the lunchbox, trying to see I I had anything worth stealing. Nya had the same idea, so I immediately wrapped my hands around the galaxy designed box protectively. After pulling out a banana, I looked at Cole. "Don't forget, Cole. I'm working at the library today, so we can't walk together. Looks like you'll miss out on Sierra's muffins.", I said teasingly. He lightly smacked the table with a groan.

"Man! I can't believe I'll have to miss her cooking for one whole day!", he joked back. Everyone gave us the are-you-two-alright look. Skylor's expression turned to pure mischief.

"So...", she drawled. "You two have been walking together...?" Morro's head popped up as if he had just started to hear the conversation. A foreign look came into his eyes.

"Yah. So?", Cole asked. I knew exactly what they were getting at but I was too focused on opening my bag if goldfish. Kai shook his head with a few clicks of his tongue.

"You two kissed yet?", Jay asked. My hands made the ha split in half, and goldfish fell to the floor.

"Dang it, Walker!", I exclaimed in frustration.

"What's her problem?", he asked oblivious.

"Two things. One:you made me spill my heavenly goldfish crackers. And two:why do you guys always have to ask this? It's a little annoying. And you now owe me a pack d goldfish crackers."Jay held his hands up in surrender.

"I was just asking. You two obviously like each other. I was just sayin'. I mean, Cole never talks this much unless he's talking with you. And what flavor do you want that goldfish? Original? Personally, I think the extra-cheddar isn't the best.", I nodded as my cheeks flushed from his earlier comment. Cole's own face had turned pink, making his skin look like a rosy-brown hue. I personally loved the color.

"Jay, leave the two alone.", Nya said before rolling her eyes. "We already pester them enough without making them spill goldfish." I could already see this was going to become an inside joke. Griffin threw a packet of skittles at me. He had decided to sit with us today, as long as we allowed him to wear the weird red tinted sunglasses. My eyes widened and I tore open the package, whining as Nya and Skylor grabbed some.

"Thank you, Griffin!" Smiling, I popped a green into my mouth, sucking on it until it lost the color. Lloyd sat with a pretend pouty face, and I had to spoil the child. "Here you go...", I said as I handed him some of the candy. He was my fellow candy addict, so I had to honor that. Kai and Jay copied Lloyd, so inhale to give them some as well. Soon enough, the whole table had been gifted with Skittles. Even Neuro had asked for some, light brown eyes lighting up as soon as he saw I gave him a yellow candy. I always wonders how he dyed his hair. Unless it was natural...His hair was grey, with white on the sides. Instead of his signature mustache and stuff, he had decided to go for a change this year, and keep it shaved. He too was a strange emo child. A girl with grey hair walked over, quietly sitting beside Skylor.

"Hello.", she greeted as she turned to the red-head.

"Guys, this is Sulfur. I met her earlier today. She's-" Sulfur shook her head at Skylor, and the girl changed mid-sentence. "going to sit with us."

"Hey!", Nya greeted as she reached her hand out to shake. The rest followed suit. After that, I offered her some Skittles.

"No thanks. I don't really like candy." I swear, our brains must have dropped dead on the spot.

"What? Y-you don't like candy?!", Jay exclaimed with a gasp. I would say dramatically, but we were all thinking the same thing.

"No. It has too much sugar." Griffin was the first to break the ice.

"So what do you like to do, Sulfur?" She shrugged.

"Not much." Griffin smiled.

"Same. You like running?"

"Actually, I do. Do you like horror movies?"

"Yes! Have you seen IT yet?" For the first time, Sulfur smiled. Good thing she was right across form Griffin.

"I have. It was awesome!" As the two continued their rambling, hey found out they had a lot in common, which was crazy because they were also almost polar opposites. Smiling, I looked up at Cole. He was devouring a piece of cake, all the while scouring through his textbooks. His eyes met mine but he quickly looked away. Leaning closer, I whispered to him. "Cookie Monster." His face burned and he tried his beat to ignore me as I giggled. I wasn't oblivious-I had an idea that Cole liked me. Plus, Skylor said that guys liked it when girls were flirty(even when they suck at it, like me). I sighed with a smile. What a great way to fix the day...

But, oh. Help Jay. He was so getting pummeled later on for saying that.

~~~after school~~~
Pushing through the glass doors, I was met by the smiling face of Ms. Misako. Her grey bangs framed her face perfectly, the wrinkles under her hazel eyes only making her look more beautiful, in a strange sort of way. Wisdom was apparent in her eyes, and she looked like she had seen too much in her lifetime. While most people look at our elders as dumb, cranky, and without any knowledge, Misako was one of the smartest and most loving person I had ever met. In a way, she reminded me of a Therapist. She studied the scrolls and other ancient artifacts, and once tried to become a History teacher. She was perfect for the job, but no one would take her because she was married to Lord Garmadon. It was a sad reality, but she had learned that no matter what people said, all she really needed was her son, and the love of her deceased husband. Now. You're probably thinking, "Lord Garmadon isn't dead." Let me clarify why she goes by a widow.
You see, Garmadon had turned good at one point, but it was necessary for him to go to the Cursed a realm to save Ninjago. When Harumi resurrected him(Yes, I had heard the story, and been given all the details by the girls.) she resurrected all the bad parts of him, so he was like the evil Lord Garmadon, who didn't feel anything or Misako and their son, Lloyd. He just seemed to act like the past had never happened. Later on, she finally found a job at the library, and will study the past and scrolls, occasionally helping out with the Ninja's missions.
"Hello, Hannah. How was school?" She was also very motherly to anyone she met. I shrugged as I pulled my hair out d the space buns, allowing it to fall into thick waves. Running my fingers through the naturally highlighted hair, staring at the contrast of blond against light brown strands, I sighed.
"It was bad, and then it was good...? I don't know, to be honest. The day started out badly, and then turned good."
"Would you like to explain? You have a few minutes before Kassy's break." Nodding, I sat down in the carpet chair in front of her desk. Misako turns her attention from the computer to me with a calm expression. Misako was so motherly, you felt you could open up to her about anything.
"It started with Pixal. The day was off tj a great start, but then some brats used lipstick and mascara to write the word, 'Freak' on her gym locker. She ended up going home with Zane. Even though it didn't seem like it, I think Nya waned to perform a murder. And then when I was heading to the other gym for off-season, I found out that Lloyd had gotten punched by some jerk." A small flame sparked in her eyes at the mention of her son being hurt, but she continued to listen to me ramble. "And then the day's mood changed and everyone was happy. Plus, I got an A on my Math test. And I found out that there is a talent show at Ninjago High, which made me happy. But Pixal and Lloyd were hurt, and my day was pretty good, so I guess I feel..."
"Guilty?", she prompted. I snapped my fingers.
"Yes! I feel guilty for having a good day, and frustrated that people can be so mean. I also feel mad and sad, all at the same time. I wish it was me who got called a freak. I wish it was me who was punched. Not them. But I can't do anything about it.", I concluded sadly. A burden seemed to have been taken off of my back.
"I understand. But are you sure you can't do anything?" I gave the wise woman a confused look. "You may not be able to change the past, but think of the future. Be there for your friends, support them, love them. There aren't many people who want to even be near them, but you decide to befriend them. Use your position as a friend to make then feel loved.", she concluded.
"Yah. You're right. Thanks, Ms. Misako.", I said with a smile as I stood, Kassy leaving to go do whatever it is the auburn haired girl does during her two hour break. She basically lives at the library, so I wouldn't be surprised if she just hung out in the Break room. That's what I've done before.
Taking my place at the desk in the middle of the library, I sigh contentedly. This was my safe haven-the relaxing scent of old books that wafts to my nose, the sound of pages turning that drifts to my ears, the boy in front of my desk who is asking for my attention-Wait-A boy? Gosh I am a terrible employee!
"Hello! I'm sorry I was off in my own little world. What can I help you with?", I ask with a soft smile, my eyes meeting his own black orbs. Shaggy white bangs covered part of his eyes, and blond barely showed at the roots of his hair, telling me his hair was dyed. Still, he have off some kind of aura about him. His large eyes blinked once, then twice. "Um, do you need help finding a book?", I suggested as I leaned over the counter, pointing towards the children's section. "We have a large selection of fantasy that I'm sure you would lo-" I'm cut off my a small hand being wrapped around my wrist. My heart stops, and my gaze travels up the arm to the boy who was holding my writ with incredible strength I didn't know was possible for such a small boy. His eyes seemed to stare deep into my soul, and a chill ran down my spine.
"Hannah. Listen to me.", he said with a commanding voice. "Great change is coming, and it will be centered around you. The past is not what you think it is. Reality is not real. Almost everything you believe is false. Your true history is right in front of your eyes. Open them and see it. Oh. And did I mention that you're child is prophesied by the Serpentine? Just sown tuning to think about." Finally I can speak.
"F-first, how did you know my name? And second, what do you mean?", I pleaded. The boy shook his head.
"I've given enough information already. Perhaps too much..."
"W-well then tell me this-who are you?!" The boy smiled sweetly. He only looked 6 years old, but he had a look in his eyes filled with wisdom, and what seemed to be despair.
"I guess I could tell you that.", he replied, his whole demeanor changing to that of a young child. "I'm a messenger."
"A what?" I was so confused at this point.
"A messenger. I deliver messages, and sometimes prophecies. Each family has their own messenger. Often, the messenger never gets to carry a message, but your family is special. About once a century I get to deliver a message. I even watched your parents grow up. Some people would all me a guardian angel." My eyes widen.
"Who was my dad? Please tell me!", I plead.
"You'll find out soon enough. And yes. I've lived over a century." I gaped. So he can read minds too?
"Yes I can. Now. It's about time I go. And don't try to rush your future in order to get answers, Hannah. You'll get them when needed." He begins to displace into thin air. It was only at that moment did I notice that nothing in the library was moving. Time had stopped, and it was just me and the boy.
"Wait! What's your name?" The boy's eyes had a sad look swirling in the depths of the black pools.
"I don't have one. Messengers aren't given a name."
"But everyone deserves a name! It's part of who you are.", I say as he fades in and out.
"I suppose. But that's not for me to decide." Jut as he fully fades away, he reads my thoughts one last time. "And don't worry. I'll be back." Then he was gone. Time resumed, and suddenly it felt very quiet.
"What just-happened?", I asked myself quietly. It was all so fast and creepy. Did I just have a hallucination? But it felt so real...
"Hannah? You okay? You look like you've seen a ghost.", came a voice in front of me. I raised my eyes from my hands, catching the gaze of cloudy green eyes. A streak of green hair slipped out from behind his ear, and he made no move of fixing it. I felt like I had seen a ghost.
I shook my head vigorously to clear my thoughts. "Morro! W-what are you doing here?" He shrugged towering over me from his size.
"Just checking out what all this library has. I was looking for something to read in my free time.", he said as he peered at me. I shifted uncomfortably.
"Um...what genre are you looking for?"
"What now?" I giggled at the baffled look on his face, his sleek eyebrows shaping a perfect arch.
"Genre. You know. The type of book it is. There's horror, fantasy, mystery, romance, Sci-fi, poetry-"
"Gosh, now you sound like Zane.", he said with a breathy chuckle. I smiled, feeling my front teeth slightly show. "Since you know so much about these books, can you help me find a good book?" I playfully raised an eyebrow.
"I guess I could do my job.", I teased. Standing, I led the tall teenager over to the young adult, as adult sections. "Now. What's your favorite type if book?"
"You mean genre?", he said as he scrunched his nose, dusting imaginary dust off his darn green shirt. "Yes. I'm smart now-I learned something." I just shook my head.
"First thing you ever learned?", I said with a hand on one hip. He gasped.
"How dare you-"
"Oh, look! Fantasy! This sis one of my favorites!", I exclaimed quietly. I skipped over to another part of the section. "And romance! Mystery! Sci-fi!"
"Shh!", came the amuse voice of Morro. "Here. What about a Mystery? Everyone says those are good."
"They are! Here! Hardy boys is a classic. Or you could do something like-"
"What's this one?" I turned to where Morro was examine a book. His eyes scanned the back of the book, interest building up in the proud boy's eyes.
"The Hunger Games! I LOVE that series!", u squealed before lowering my voice. "You'd love it! Wanna try it?"
"Yah...seems interesting." Morro nodded his head as he grabbed the second book of the series as well.
"Oh goody! Rue is my absolute favorite! Katniss is really cool too. I think you'd like Gale or Peeta a lot. The best part is when-"
"My ears!", Morro said with a playful smirk. "No spoilers young lady." I rolled my eyes smiling. I just couldn't help but spoil books and movies. It was a habit!
"Fine, fine... Is that all you needed help with?", I asked as politely as possible.
"Actually...I was wondering if you wanted I hang out. I know that we don't get to talk much during school, and I want to get to know you better." I debate for a moment. My shift at the library lasts another 45 minutes, but I'd be free after that. Plus, I needed to drop into the Aldi for a few things. Some company would be nice, and I too wanted to learn more about Morro.
I nodded. "Sure. I'd like that. My shift lasts almost an hour though." He shrugs, once again examine his books.
"I think I'll be fine to read until you're done."
"Okay! Just give about 40 minutes." He walks over to where they have some beanbags and chairs set up for people to sit while they read. I quickly went back to my desk, sorting through some files on the computer. A young teenager walked up to check out her books, shyly thanking me as she jogged out of the library, brown pigtails bouncing. It was a pretty slow day, so most of the time I was working on the files, or reading a romance novel.
He gazed into her hazelnut eyes, adoration pooling his own loving gaze. From the very depths of his soul he could say he loved her. But this was for the best. A human could never be with a creature like him. He was hideous, roaming the night, terrorizing the people of the town. It's not that he wanted to scare them-it was just a part of him. It was on his blood, passed on through generations of his family. He was evil, ugly, an could never earn the right to love such an angelic being as her. But that wasn't what she said, as she slid a thumb across the scar on his chin, murmuring her love for him. He held her close. He couldn't tell her thy he had to leave. Not when they were finally able to be together! But it was for the best, a voice reminded him. Lifting her chin with Ashely finger, he moved his lips to hers, capturing them in a passionate kiss. It was probably their last kiss, and he wanted to make it count. Tears streaming down his cheeks, he slipped a hand through her hair, his claws gently skimming her back, making her shiver in bliss. But before anything could happen, he pulled apart and stared into her gorgeous orbs. He could stare at them forever. They were like a vast ocean, just waiting to be discovered. Why must life be so cruel?, he wondered as he let go of her. Confusion was clear on her perfect face, and she gasps as he turned away. He have one last look, whispering his love for her, then turned away sobbing as he run through the woods, the girl calling out his name desperately through tears. Darkness enveloped him, and he knew he end was drawing near. She was his ray of light, the sun to his night. If he didn't have her he wasn't sure how he could live. He-
"Hannah? You're shifts over. You can go now.", came a soft voice in front of me. Kassy stood there, smiling timidly.
"Sorry. I just got so wrapped up in my book I forgot about the time.", I explained as I grabbed my bag, sliding the book Ito the front zipper.
"What book is it? Let me guess...romance?" She knew how much of a sucker I was for romance books, especially tragic love stories.
"Yah. It's 'Through the Night'." Kassy nodded.
"That's a really good one. The author is making a second book right now." I smile cheekily.
"Cool! See you next week, Kassy.", I said as I waved, heading I'm the direction of Morro. "Hey, Morro. Sorry it took so long. I got wrapped up in a book." He hummed in acknowledgment as he turned the page.
"Ah! Stupid cliffhangers!" He said as he marked his page, closing the book.
"You're already almost done?", I ask I'm shock. I rarely ever find another person who will read a whole book in only a day.
"Yah. And I'm dying to know what happens. Who even invented cliffhangers?" I was going to tell him, but I decided it was a rhetorical question. "You ready?", he asks a he slung his backpack over his shoulder. After quickly checking out his books, we walk outside. The humid air hits us, and I know a storm will be here tonight.
"I haven't really gone to Ninjago City all that often. So where to?", I ask Morro. He looks around with pursed lips. Finally his eyes light up.
"I'm down for a milkshake. What about you?", he says with a silly smile, leading me to laugh.
"Sure!" And with that we're walking down the streets of Ninjago city, exalting the shop windows as I follow the tanned boy. In reality, we probably looked very odd. I was so short that I has to lean my head all the way back to look at him, while he was so tall he could see anything. And, our styles looked completely different, because I was still wearing the same outfit as the other girls from earlier. I actually liked Morro's style a lot. I would have worn my hoody, but it was in the washing machine getting a much needed cleaning. Morro wales around in dark blue jeans, an old pair of tennis shows, and a dark green shirt that looked like it had been torn at the sleeves, revealing his muscular arms. It made me think for a second. Everyone is our group was really strong, so that meant we all worked out. I mean, I could understand the ones who were ninja, but Griffin for example? I had no idea why he worked out. Probably just to impress the ladies. He's as big a flirt as Kai, and Kai flirts with Skylor a lot. Griffin actually tried to flirt with me but that ended up with him having his arms behind his back, and me threatening to break them. I wouldn't really but it was fun to mess with him. Besides. He was just trying to be funny.
"What are you thinking about?", Morro asked as we passed a jewelry shop. My eye caught a sparkling bracelet as we walked. I shrugged.
"Nothing really. Just about our friend group. Everyone's so different yet so similar, all at the same time." I laugh with a shake of my head. "It's amazing to think about. Everyone's the main character of their story, and we have no idea how many stories we pass by daily. We walk by so many people everyday, not giving much thought as to who they are. All that you know is you're own story." Morro nodded.
"It is amazing. I never thought about it that way." We walked in silence, our thoughts drawn to whatever we were thinking about. Soon enough, we stopped in front of a pale pink and tan building, a cutout smoothie on the sign along with the name of the shop in big white letters-'Swirly'.
"Didn't know this place was here.", I mentioned as we stepped into the small parlor. The whole thing was inspired by the 60's style, with a marrow machine, stools by the counter, and a nice color pallet. Soft music drifted trough the building, and there was only a few people there. Walking up to the counter, we examined the menu. Oh, why are deductions about food so hard?, I wondered. There were a few flavors on the board with names, but most of it was a create-your-own. They also had ice cream, smoothies, teas, and of course, milkshakes.
"I'll have a cookies and cream milkshake. Hannah, what about you?", Morro says as he pulls me out of my thinking bubble. I turn to the girl at the counter, taking in all her details quickly. It was just something I did-I notice all the details. She had long brown hair with edges dyed with teal, matching her bright eyes. She wore black glasses, and had the cutest freckles sprayed across her face. Her name tag read 'Hailey'.
"I would like a pumpkin spice milkshake, please.", I told her after debating once more for a second. She nodded and wrote our order on two clear cups.
"That'll be $6.79." I reached into my bag, pulling out some bills, when Morro stopped me.
"I've got it." Before I could protest, he handed the cash to the worker, telling her to keep the change. "I asked you to come with me, so it's my treat.", he explained as we sat down in a light blue booth. I fingered a napkin.
"Okay...I just always feel bad when someone buys me something. So I get to pay next. Fair?" He smiled, a kind look in his usually mischievous eyes.
"Fair." After we shake hands, I stand saying I'll be right back. I've noticed that it has started to rain outside, and I need to call my Aunt or Uncle. But first, I had to got to the bathroom.
Stepping into the small bathroom, I walk over to the sink, staring at my reflection. There was something about Morro...it was like he acted a lot like me-more than the others. I felt safe in his presence, as if he was down one who would protect me. It was like how I felt around Cole, except I wasn't romantically attached to Morro. It was strange, really. I felt like I had a father around him. Like he was my father-but that's just my imagination getting to me. Sure, there's been instances with my old friends where they act like guardians around me, but this is different. It's like...he IS my father, just a year older than me.
Splashing my face with water, I decide not to think to hard about it. It's probably just another instance where he feels like a father to me. Great. Now I'm confusing myself. I shake my head as I dry my face, using the leftover water droplets on my hands to fix the my stray hairs. Pulling my hair into a low ponytail, I walked out and back to the table where Morro was sitting, eyeing my milkshake that had just arrived.
"Don't even think about it, Mister. You've got your own shake." He defiantly turned to me, grabbing my cup after setting his aside. I gave him my best evil eye to which he gave me his signature smirk. "Morro..."
"Hannah...", he mocked with slitted eyes as he picked up a spoon, holding it above the top of my cup. And then he filled the spoon in the drink, bringing the spoonful up to his lips. I jogged over to the table, grabbing my own spoon and dipping it in his to get even. He scoffed at my childishness and I jut shrug as I hand his drink back to him.
"As Sierra and I say, 'Bite for bite'. You take my food, I take yours. That simple." We spent the next half hour laughing and talking together as we sipped our drinks. "Oh my gosh! I forgot! I need to call my aunt!"
"Do you need a phone?" I nodded as he opened up his phone, letting me type in the number.
"Hey, Aunt Lee." I could have sworn I saw Morro's face then white at the name. That's odd...
"Hannah! Oh good! What are you doing that's taking so long?"
"I'm hanging with a friend. Were in Ninjago City. I'll probably be home late tonight, so don't worry about my dinner."
"Who's your friend?" Morro shakes his head, and I give him a confused look. This guy has some heightens hearing.
"His names Morro." Morro looks like he's going to faint. I hear my aunt gasp. "Don't worry, he's a friend. Remember? The boy I told you about who helped me with my Geography project the other day?" My aunt is quiet for a minute. "Aunt Lee?"
"Y-yah. Um...just be back before 8. I want you I take a shower and it's your turn to feed the chickens later tonight.", she says timidly. It sounds like she isn't really listening to what she's saying, but thinking about something else. I wonder what I did.
"Okay. Plus, it's raining so that's another reason I'll be so late. Is there anything you need from Aldi?"
"N-no." My eyes dart to where Morro is stirring his leftover whip cream, a faraway look in his eyes. "I love you, and be careful, Hannah." I smile.
"I will. Love you!" After waiting for her hang up, I finger the back of the case. It's and ombré of black and green, with a yin-yang symbol in the middle for a pop-socket. "Nice case.", I say as I hand it back to him. He doesn't answer. "Morro?" He shakes his head, snapping out of his daze. "Ah, sorry. But why didn't you want me to tell Aunt Lee your name?", I shrug confused. He shakes his head, throwing the rest of his cup away.
"It's nothing. Where do you wanna go next?" He seems to have forgotten about what just happened already, but I decide not to press it. Picking up my cup(yes, I got a refill), I followed him out the door as he wave at the few employees. He must come here often, I decided.
"How about that jewelry store over there?", I suggest. "Vanity Fair.", I read the name.
"You like jewelry?", he asks as we walked into the clean and neatly kept store. I shrug.
"Yah. I don't wear it often but it's nice to have some for special occasions or whenever I think to wear it. Like earrings, I rarely wear them, but whenever I think about it I'll put them in." He nods. He pulls out his wallet. "I'm getting a soda." I cram a was of dollar bills in his hand.
"I'm paying, remember. And will you get me a root beer? My milkshakes almost done." He nodded with a playful roll of his eyes. I walked towards the earring section, gazing at the colorful assortments. My eyes catch some colorful star earrings. When I move them the green, yellow, and pink become blue, green, and purple. They were absolutely gorgeous. The price wasn't to bad, so I grabbed them and a black choker beside that. The choker was black and looked like it was wrapped around the neck twice, then tied into a bow, but really it had a small clasp at the back. I paid for the items, slipping them into my bag afterwards. Morro handed me my soda, and we walked back outside to where the air was crisp, the sun shining as if it had never rained. Morro and I spent the rest of the day walking around Ninjago City, buying groceries or just walking together, enjoying the company. When I got home that night my aunt still seemed upset about the phone call, so I didn't mention the name Morro again. But still. I couldn't help but wonder what triggered their reactions.
Oh, why are people so confusing?
