I remember it like it was yesterday. The day he was kicked out of those doors. He swore that they would meet his rath someday, but clearly all talk. I followed him as he walked away from that boarding school until he felt my presence.

"W-who's there?!" He stuttered. "S-show yours-self! I am L-lloyd Garmadon, son of Lord G-garmadon! Come a-any closer, you'll f-feel my rath!"

I jumped down from my hiding place, landing in front of him. He screamed falling back, looked at me afraid.

"Who are y-you?!" I lent my hand for him to grab. He hesitantly took it, surprisingly. "Do you talk?" I shrugged in a 'meh' manner.

"What's your name?" I pulled out a card and handed it to him. "(Y/n) (L/n), huh? Well, you seem very skilled in combat. How would you like to be my loyal bodyguard?"

Me, being the one always trying to help, agreed, but I really did it because I knew I had to...

As months went by, Lloyd as lived with me in a small cave near Jamanakai Village. Today, I went to the next town over to gather food and spices, and asked Lloyd to stay until I got back. But, did he listen?

- Kai -

The gang and I were playing video games since we had nothing to do. Suddenly, the TV went off, or more like, unplugged by Sensei Wu. We all groaned and complained from what he did.

"Just because Lord Garmadon escaped through a vortex, doesn't mean he won't return one day for the golden weapons of Spinjitzu!" Sensei scolded.

Zane replied, "But Sensei Wu, ever since he's been gone, Ninjago has had nothing but peace."

"Yeah, peace is boring," Jay added. "There's no one to save. There's nothing to do."

"We can train tomorrow." Stated Cole, laying back.

"Never put off until tomorrow what can be done today."

"Well, I was gonna eat this pizza tommorow, so if that's the case...-" before Cole took a bite, Sensei kick it out of his hands.

"No pizza for you! In order to reach your full potential, you must train."

"Uh, remember when we did a little thing called the Tornado of Creation?" I recalled, "I thought that was pretty insane."

He sighed, "you four have merely scratched the surface of your full potential. There are still so many secrets you have yet to unlock. You haven't even begun to tap into what powers your golden weapons hold."

"You wanna talk secret powers? Check this out." Cole says as he plugs the TV back on qith his scythe, resuming our game.

"Don't worry, master," Zane assured, "we will be ready when Lord Garmadon returns."

After he said that, Nya rushes in saying that Lord Garmadon was back. We frantically get up and prepared ourselves for battle. All four of us run down the mountain to get to our dragons and prepare for take off.

"Can I help?" Nya asked.

"Sorry, sis, where we go, danger abounds. This is job for the ninja." I lean to get the chains, but, "a little help?" I chuckled.

She hands them to me and we were off to Jamanakai Village. By the time we made it, the villagers were screaming in panic. Each of us pulled out our weapons, ready to fight. We saw the silhouette getting smaller every second as Garmadon approached us. Instead, it ended up being a kid.

"It is I, Lloyd Garmadon!" He proclaimed. "I demand all the candy in this town, or else!"

"Lloyd Garmadon?" Jay raised a brow, "I thought we were gonna face Lord Garmadon."

"It's his son." Cole stated. "Looks like he escaped his boarding school for bad boys again. And to think we could have been doing Spinjitzu already."

As the people realize that it was just a kid, they gathered around and heard him just demanding candy and threatened to release the Serpentine as he popped open a can of snakes. The crowd booed him off and began to throw vegetables at him.

"He's gonna have to do a lot better than use an old bedtime story to scare people." I advised.

"The Serpentine are real, Kai." Zane said. "They are not something to joke about."

"Serpentine? Real? We're talking about the ancient race of snake people who once ruled Ninjago, and we're supposedly locked underground?"

"Uh, sealed in five different tombs to separate the warring tribes, and ensure they don't unify to exact their revenge upon those who put them there!" Jay informed, paranoid.

"It was an old wives' tale to teach kids not to poke our noses where they don't belong. Don't you think it's a little suspicious no one's ever found one of their tombs?"

"That's because you'd be a fool to look for one." Cole answered, obviously. "If there was anything I hated more than dragons, it was snakes, rubber or not."

The others and I picked up the brat and hung him on a high pedestal sign. We all laughed and to rub it in his face, Zane bought some candy and handed some to us.

"Next time, try paying for your candy." Cole advised.

"Crime doesn't pay, muchacho. You can take that to the bank-OW!"

I felt a tug on my hair, like, a hard tug. Then, I see Jay and Cole headbutt and hold their skulls. And Zane was on the ground, utterly confused. Out of nowhere I see someone bring Lloyd back down. They were talking, wait, were they talking? The other kid just gave expressions and Lloyd just responded to them. I went up to them and the girl snapped her head at me with a glare so terrifying!

She had (color) hair with a tuff of light purple in front and (color) eyes. They wore all black with purple straps and a scarf around her waist. Her mouth was also covered with a black mask, like a ninja.

"Woah!" I jumped back.

Lloyd smirked and went on his merry way with the girl following behind...

- Lloyd -

(Y/n) and I wandered to the ice cold mountains. To my surprise, (Y/n) wasn't shivering one bit. She just dealt with the cold.

"Stupid ninja." I grumble. "We'll show them who they're dealing with. Right, (Y/n)?"

She nodded, slamming her hand and fist together. I'm proud she's my bodyguard. No one messes with me when she's around. I continued kicking a rock until I heard hit something, besides the snow. We went over to investigate and find that it's a tomb. I saw a lever and pulled it, causing us both to fall down a pit.

We got up and we hear an anonymous voice, "You are out of your minds to venture so far away from home, little onessss~" we backed up from the snake as it said, "look into my eyessss...give up your mind...I will control you..."

Before he could put us under his spell, (Y/n) yanked me down and covered my eyes. We hear him give out a odd sound and realized he's fooled himself! This gave me an ingenious plan.

"No, I will control you from now on." I grinned.

"What shall you have us do, master?"

"Us?" Suddenly, more snakes come out of the shadows. "Woah, my own army of snakes!"

(Y/n), who looked concerned, pulled me to the side and gazed at me. "Lloyd, are you sure about this?"

"Yes, now I can get revenge on the ninja who humiliated me!"

"..."

"Believe me, I know exactly, what I'm doing."

- Cole -

The guys and I have been training when Sensei Wu came out in a panic.

"The Serpentine are back! Everyone in Jamanakai Village is in danger!"

"Calm down Sensei, we were just there." I assured. "It was some kid who says he's-"

"The spirit smoke does not lie. And ancient evil has been released!

"Nya's there right now!" Kai gasped. "We've gotta get down there!"

We rushed our way back to the village and find the serpentine terrorizing and hypnotized the townspeople.

"Sorry to bust your buzz, little Garmadon."

"But it's already passed your bedtime."

"Get them!" He commanded.

Next thing you know, we're surrounded by the hypnotized villagers. Jay was about to use his nunchucks but Zane stopped him.

"No, our weapons are too unstable. We could do more harm than good."

"I guess that leaves us with: run!"

We booked it out of the crowd and we hid behind a travel cart. Then, Nya comes in.

"Nya, you're okay."

"Barely. They've hypnotized everyone in town."

"Mind control." Summed up. "How is this possible?"

"When you hear them rattle their tails, don't look them in the eyes. That's how they get you."

"What are we supposed to do? We can't use our weapons, and now we gotta fight with our eyes closed? Ha! Perfect."

"The snake with the staff, is the general. He's the one in charge. If we can get the staff from him, it holds the antivenin. If we get that, we can save everyone."

"And how do we do that?" I asked.

"She, is how."

She says as she pulls the kid from earlier today. The girl was trying to get out of her grip but failed miserably.

"This little munchkin, seems to have a little connection with Lloyd. But she won't talk."

As she said that, the kid pulled out a card and handed it to us.

"I want this to stop as much as you do, but I have to play part as Lloyd's servant. So what you're saying is, you're bound to Lloyd and his wishes?" She nods.

"Just like a servant obeys it's master. But, why?" Zane asked, she doesn't say a word.

Her eyes widen with an idea and pulls out some makeup from her bag. She pulls down her mask and begins to put red, liquid lipstick across her face and a little by the corner of her lips. And to add on, she used a dark black and purple eyeshadow to made a black eye. We were confused but Nya knew what she was up to.

"She's trying to act as a hostage so Lloyd would give up and that will get us the staff." She confirms, nodding her head again.

"Do you think he'll buy it?" Kai asked.

"We'll have to wait and see."

I take her in an arm lock and she pretends to be beaten to a pulp. We come to the front of the center fountain and Lloyd looked terrified at his partner's state.

"Give up the staff and your lacky goes free."

"(Y/n)! What did you do to her?!"

"The choice is yours, Lloyd."

(Y/n) shook her head telling him not to, which tempted Lloyd even more to give in. He ordered the general to hand over his staff and he obeyed. I shoved (Y/n), letting her fake the fall. Lloyd ran to her side and put her arm over his shoulder. He called, "retreat!" And fled with the rest of the Serpentine. As I got the staff, one of the snakes tried to trick me, before they could, Nya snapped me out of it and I thrusted the staff in the fountain, curing everyone.

"We're sorry, Sensei," Kai apologized, "if we dealt with Lloyd before he became a problem, non of this would have been necessary."

"Even lessons learned the hard way are lessons learned. A great evil has been released, I fear troubling times will come. This, is only the beginning."

"Then, we will train." Zane declared. "And be ready for the serpentine."

"It may not be Lord Garmadon, but that doesn't mean we won't bring our A-game." I added.

"Help us train. Help us realize our potential."

"Yeah, teach us the secrets behind the weapons of Spinjitzu."

"There is much to teach. We must return to the monastery."

After Lloyd 'patched me up' he began mourning for more candy. But, I could obviously tell he was getting sick from the junk food. As I try to comfort the boy I could hear the general talking with his second-in-command.

"The boy set us free." He reminded his follower.

"He is a child! And the girl complete useless besides her combat skills. They are not one of us!" he retaliated.

"I may not have the staff, but I am still your general! Stand down!"

He walked away and I overheard his other conversation with another serpent.

"You coward!" He whispered, "we all know he's under Lloyd's spell. You are second-in-command and still you do nothing?"

"Now was not the time." He explained. "I still hold the key to destroy the ninja. And when I do that, everyone will see it is I who should be in control.."
