The First Day
This will be mainly filler stories, so if you have any requests for story plots, this is the place to do it.
What's important to remember is that the ninja are much older and have settled down. This is based several years after Ninjago Generations, but it is NOT CANNON to that story, it's more like a spinoff.
I didn't know what to name the teachers, so I named them all after cartoon teachers from my childhood because why not? 😂
Also congratulations to @Perpawlawdog for naming Kai and Skylor's youngest son Trent. Enjoy!

Today was a big day for Ninjago, because for the first time ever, elemental masters would be allowed to go to public school. They had all been homeschooled before, but this was the first time they had been allowed in public school.
*with Amber and Allison*
It was the first day of sixth grade and Amber and Allison set down in their class. The other kids were not too fond about them because they had heard that the two were descendants of elemental masters.
Allison was Cole and Seliel's daughter and inherited her father's earth powers. Amber was Kai and Skylor's oldest daughter and she had the power of absorption just like her mother.
"Good morning class." The teacher said walking into the classroom. "I'm Miss. Frizzle and I'll be your teacher this year. Let's start with roll call. Since this is your first day, when I call out your name tell us a fun fact about yourself."
She proceeded to call out the names of all her students. Then she got Allison.
"Allison Brookstone?" She called.
"Hi." Allison stood up. "I'm Allison and I have a pet dragon named Pebbles."
"Of course she does, her daddy is the earth ninja." A boy behind her laughed, and soon the rest of the class was too. Allison and Amber just shrugged at each other.
"Ok ok that's enough." Miss Frizzle calmed them down. Then she continued reading the names until she got to Amber's. "Amber Smith?"
"Yes ma'am." Amber stood up. "I'm Amber and I like to play sports with my brothers."
"Ok very good." Her teacher said.
Miss Frizzle started teaching and everything was ok. She wrote a math problem on the chalkboard and asked Amber to come up and solve it. Amber got up and started walking towards the board when one of the kids tripped her and everyone laughed, except Allison who helped her friend up.
"Are you ok?" Allison asked Amber.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks." Amber replied.
Amber solved the math problem and went back to seat. The girl that tripped her looked at her with a sinister grin on her face. Amber didn't like to judge people, but she already didn't like this girl one bit.
For the rest of the day, most of the other 6th graders didn't talk to, look at, or even pay any mind to Amber and Allison. They were like this until they went home.
*with Ryder and Alex*
Ryder and Alex were in the 5th grade and waiting for class to start. Alex was a nindroid and was the new master of ice, and even though he had only became operational seven years ago, he was smart enough to be put in college, but the school system said the 5th grade was the best they could do, but he didn't mind. That meant that he would be in the same class with his friend Ryder, the son of the green ninja.
"I since you are nervous about today?" Alex said to Ryder.
"A little." Ryder replied. "I just feel like it'll be hard to fit in because we're the first elemental masters to go to school and it doesn't help when you're the grandson to Ninjago's greatest villain."
"But your grandfather is reformed now correct?" Alex asked.
"Yeah he is, but some people still don't trust him." Ryder sighed. "Not to mention I have a lot to live up to, growing up in my father's shadow and everything."
Then a girl with slick brown hair and brown eyes walked into the classroom. Ryder caught a glimpse of her and it put him in a daze. She walked up to where Ryder and Alex were sitting.
"Hi, can I sit here?" She asked the boys.
"Oh uh o-of course." Ryder stuttered as he pulled out the empty chair for her.
"Thanks. I'm Katie." She set down and held out her hand.
"Ryder." He smiled and shook her hand.
"And I am Alex." Alex said. "I since you have elemental powers as well?"
"Actually yeah, my father is the elemental master of speed." Katie said.
"Wow. That's really cool." Ryder said.
"Let me guess. Energy? Ice?" She said pointing to Ryder then Alex.
"That is correct." Alex said.
"How did you know that?" Ryder asked.
"My dad is a friend of both of fathers." Katie said.
Then the teacher walked into the classroom.
"Hello students, my name is Mr. Crocker. I'll be your teacher for this year." The teacher said very unenthusiastically. "Let's start with the roll call. Daniel Adams?"
"I go by Danny." A young boy said.
"Whatever." Mr. Crocker continued. "Gabriel Davis?"
"Call me Gabe please." A black haired boy called out.
"Alright then." The teacher looked at his list. "Ryder Garmadon?"
"Here." Ryder raised his hand.
The entire room fell silent almost as all of the kids and the teacher looked at Ryder. They knew he was a Garmadon and didn't like it very much. He made a lot of enemies within the first few minutes of class.
"Ok, let's just continue on with the role then." Mr. Crocker said. "Alex Julian?"
"Here." Alex said.
"Katie Turner?"
"Here." Katie raised her hand.
"Becker Miller Jr.?"
"I go by Butch." A boy with long black hair said from the back of the room.
"Ok, that's everyone." Mr. Crocker finished. "Ok let's get started."
Mr. Crocker started teaching and everyone was paying attention. That is until one of the boys in the back threw a crumpled up piece of paper at Ryder and it hit him in the back of his head. He turned around and picked it up. It was a note that had the word 'Garmadork' written on it. Ryder looked back and Gabe, Butch and Danny were all giggling at him. The teacher noticed.
"Is something funny boys?" Mr. Crocker asked.
"No Mr. Crocker." They all said at once.
"That's what I thought." He said as he turned back to the board. "Now as I was saying..."
Ryder kept looking at the word on the paper. He couldn't believe those boys were picking on him just because he was a Garmadon.
Then the bell rang and it was lunch time. All the 5th graders ate at the same table the first day. Ryder was sitting with Alex and his new friend Katie.
As they were sitting there someone threw a spit ball at the back of Ryder's head. He looked back and Butch, Danny and Gabe were all standing around casually trying to act like they didn't do it, even though Ryder knew it was them. Katie and Alex noticed how upset Ryder was.
"It's ok, just ignore them." Katie said to Ryder.
"I haven't even been here half a day yet and I'm already making enemies." Ryder crossed his arms.
"They're just being possessed by the green eyed monster." Katie said.
"You mean Marro?"
"No silly." Katie giggled. "I mean they're jealous."
"Really? You think so?" Ryder asked.
"I know so." Katie smiled. "They have to be, you're awesome."
"Thanks uhh Katie was it?" Ryder blushed.
"Yep that's right." Katie smiled.
"Are you ok Ryder? Your cheeks appear to be turning red." Alex pointed out.
"Oh y-yeah, I'm fine Alex." Ryder said embarrassed.
Then one of the boys, Butch, came over to their table wanting to cause more trouble.
"Hey Garmadork." Butch laughed.
"It's GarmaDON Butch, or are you too stupid to remember that?" Katie snarked.
The comment made Butch go back to his seat. Ryder let out a sigh of relief.
"Thank you." Ryder said.
"No problem." Katie smiled. "We elemental masters have to stick together right?"
"Right." Ryder said blushing a little.
*with Lily and Jax*
Twins Lily and Jax were walking to their classroom.
"Isn't this exciting Jax?" Lily said. "We're finally going to school!"
"I guess." Jax sighed.
"What's wrong? Aren't you excited?" Lily asked.
"I guess I'm just nervous." Jax admitted.
"You don't usually get nervous."
"I know but this is different. The other kids haven't been around elemental masters like us before. What if we don't fit in here?"
"We will. Don't worry." Lily patted her brother on the back. "Come on we're gonna be late."
"Ok, thanks sis."
Jax and Lily walked into the classroom and took their seats. As they did, the other 4th graders became uneasy. They knew Jax and Lily were elemental masters, and Jax had been correct.
However there was a girl in class who had been fascinated by elemental masters her whole life. She knew that Jax and Lily had powers and she was excited about meeting them.
"Hi I'm Gracie." The girl approached Jax and Lily very excitedly. "Is it true you have elemental powers? How do they work? Is it true that both your parents were ninja?"
"Yes, we don't know, and yes." Lily answered all her questions in order.
"Do you have powers too?" Jax asked her.
"No I wish." Gracie said. "You're so lucky you get to use those cool powers."
"What did you say your name was again?" Jax asked.
"Oh sorry, I'm Gracie." She apologized.
"I'm Lily and this is my brother Jax." Lily said as she pointed to herself then her brother.
"It's nice to meet you." Jax said to Gracie.
"Nice to meet you guys too." Gracie smiled.
"Ok class everyone take your seats please." Said their teacher walking into class. "My name is Mrs. Puff and welcome to the soul crushing pointlessness that is the forth grade."
The entire class cracked up at Mrs. Puff's joke. It was funny because it was true. After the role was read and attendance was taken, they all were given an assignment.
"Alright class, for your first assignment you'll all have to wright an essay about what not to do at a stoplight, no less than 800 words, and... wait that's not right." Mrs. Puff looked at her notes. "Oh sorry, that's for my drivers ed class." [A/N: I'm sorry I couldn't resist! I love Spongebob! 😂]
The class laughed as Mrs. Puff got out their real worksheets.
"Sorry about that kids." She apologized. "Your real assignment is to read the paragraph on this worksheet and write two sentences about it."
The class groaned and started to work on their worksheets. Within only a few minutes Lily completed her worksheet, but Jax was struggling a bit. The words on the page didn't make any sense. He couldn't tell the d's from the b's or the m's from the w's.
He started to get frustrated as each of the kids walked up to the teacher and handed her their papers one by one. Finally Jax was the only student who hadn't finished the worksheet. He felt like the entire class was waiting on him and he was embarrassed that he was taking him so long. Jax quickly scribbled in some nonsense on the paper and turned it in.
"Alright, now let's move on with math." Mrs. Puff said.
'Good, no more stupid letters.' Jax thought to himself. 'It should be smooth sailing from here.'
'Oh no, not math. I hate math! Why did it have to be math?!' Lily panicked in her head. She hated math so much, but she could do if she payed attention to how to do the equations.
Lily was trying her best to pay attention, but then she looked to her left. She saw a handsome young boy with sparkling blue eyes and luscious blond hair. He noticed him looking at her and he smiled. Lily was so embarrassed her face turned bright red and she looked back at what Mrs. Puff was trying to teach.
"You ok sis?" Her brother whispered.
Lily put her hands on her desk and started daydreaming about her and that boy. Jax waved his hand in front of Lily's face, but she was still off in la la land.
"Alright, now for some practice problems on what you just learned." Mrs. Puff said.
Lily suddenly shook her head and snapped out of it. She didn't catch a single word the teacher had said. She had no idea what they were talking about and the equations on the paper looked really complicated. She had no choice but to do her best she could and turn in the paper, knowing that all of her answers were probably wrong.
The twins realized how tough forth grade was actually going to be, and it was a lot harder than they thought.
*with Blake*
Third grader Blake was excited to get the his first day of school. He was also really nervous and he was feeling lonely. He was the only person in his entire class with elemental powers.
All of his friends, siblings and cousins didn't have that problem. Amber had Allison, Alex had been put in the same class with Ryder, Jax and Lily always had each other, and Trent had Ashley, even though neither one of them had powers yet. He felt like he was facing this all on his own.
There was one thing Blake was looking forward to and that was being on the school's basketball team. He was really good at it and he liked to play because he felt like he could be a part of a team. He felt alive when he was playing basketball.
"Good morning class." His teacher said walking in on them. "My name is Mrs. Fowl."
"Hello Miss Fowl." All the kids said at once.
"I taught second grade last year, so I recognize pretty much all of you, except for you young man." She pointed to Blake. "Why don't you come up here and tell us about yourself?"
"I'd rather not, thanks." Blake shrugged.
"Come on, don't be shy." Mrs. Fowl insisted.
Blake nervously came up in front of the class and faced his classmates. His hands were shaking and he was looking at his feet.
"H-hi." He stuttered. "I-I'm Blake and I like b-basketball."
"Thank you Blake. You can sit down now if you want." Mrs. Fowl said.
"Thank you ma'am." Blake said quickly before running back to the safety of his seat.
Blake took a deep breath from almost dying of embarrassment. Then Mrs. Fowl started teaching until the bell rang. Then all of the them went to lunch, then recess.
During recess, Blake went over to the basketball court where there were already a couple students around his age playing on the court.
"Hey mind if I join you?" Blake asked walking up to them.
"No way, you might burn the whole court down." One of the boys said.
"Or find a way to cheat with those powers you got." Another boy said.
"I don't need my powers to show you who's boss." Blake snarked.
"Ok, what do you say to a little bet?" The first boy bargained. "One on One, if you win, without using any powers, we'll let you use the court whenever you like."
The boy took the basketball and tossed it to Blake and he caught it.
"And if you win?" Blake asked.
"If I win, you can't come back on the court. EVER." The boy said.
"I'll take that bet." Blake said, not giving it a second thought, like his father would do. "But if I win, you open the court to everyone."
"Raising the stakes ha?" The boy put his hands on his hips. "I like this kid."
"The name's Blake." He said.
"I'm Rodney, and this is Chris." The boy said. "Now let's go."
"And don't try any of that powers stuff." Chris crossed his arms.
"Don't need it." Blake smirked.
Rodney and Blake went head to head in a round of basketball while Chris played the referee. They kept playing until the score was tied 3 to 3. They both agreed the next point would win the game. Blake was just about to win when Rodney tripped.
"Ow!" Rodney exclaimed and held his ankle.
Blake stopped what he was doing and ran over to Rodney.
"Are you ok?" Blake asked him.
"Am now sucker!"
Rodney took the ball out of Blake's hands, catching him off guard, and he was able to make an ally oop, winning the match.
"Rodney wins!" Chris declared.
"Wait, I thought we said no cheating." Blake crossed his arms.
"No, the rules were that you didn't cheat." Chris snarked.
"How is that fair?" Blake asked.
"Because you're an elemental master." Rodney crossed his arms.
"What does that have to do with anything?" Blake protested.
"You think we would really let a fire master share our court?" Chris said.
"You said not to use it and I didn't." Blake shrugged. "I don't see why you guys don't trust me."
"Just get out of here fire freak." Chris shouted.
Chris pushed Blake down to the ground. When he got up, he ran behind the trash cans and hid there until recess was over. The rest of the day was awkward until he finally got home.
When he did get home that day, he had a bruise on his knee from when Chris pushed him. Lucky for him he was able to hide it from his parents and Trent, but Amber knew something was up. Amber saw Blake eating in the kitchen and he was looking sad so she called Blake into her room and shut the door.
"Ok Blake, what's going on?" She crossed her arms.
"Nothing." Blake said quickly.
"Oh come on, you're a worse liar than Dad." Amber said.
"Fine." Blake sighed. "I went to the basketball court at recess today and I played a couple guys for the court, but then I lost."
"You win some, you lose some." Amber shrugged.
"I know, but it wasn't that I lost, it was how I lost. And technically I didn't even loose!"
"What exactly happened?" She asked.
Blake ended up telling Amber about the basketball court and the bullies dirty tricks. Amber was shocked and a bit angry that those boys did that to her little brother.
"Who do they think they are?!" Amber screamed. "Tomorrow you're gonna have a rematch, and this time everyone's going to play fair."
"Fat chance. I'll be lucky if they let me get close to the court again." Blake sighed.
"Blake this isn't right." Amber said.
"It's ok sis, I'll just find something else I'm good at." He sighed and left the room.
Amber had her own problems to deal with, but she was determined to help her brother fix his first.
The next day, Amber went to the basketball court and ran into those boys. With a little help from Allison, she got Blake that rematch she promised him. After a long one on one game with Rodney, Blake won fair and square. Everything was straightened out and the basketball court was free for everyone to use, even elemental masters.
*With Ashley and Trent*
It was the first day of first grade for 7 year olds Ashley and Trent. Unlike their other friends and family, they didn't know if they had elemental powers yet. However the other people in the class knew that Ashley was the daughter of Lloyd Garmadon, and they weren't happy about it. No one would really talk to her, but Trent did. The two were best friends!
A boy with brown hair and black eyes set next to Ashley and Trent. He seemed nervous too.
"Hi." Trent said.
"Hey." He said still nervous. "I'm DJ."
"I'm Ashley and this is Trent." He said.
"Nice to meet you guys." DJ said.
"So I heard this teacher is really crazy." Trent said to Ashley.
"Yeah I heard his son is in this class too." Ashley said.
"I-I bet that's embarrassing." DJ scratched the back of his head awkwardly.
"Hello children." The teacher said walking into the room. "I am your teacher, Mr. Dareth."
"Hey I know him." Ashley whispered to Trent and DJ. "He's a friend of my dad's."
"Hey mine too." Trent said. "Does he know your dad too DJ?"
"Better than he knows himself." He sighed.
"Alright let's get started shall we?" Dareth asked the class.
Dareth began teaching and all the kids quieted down and payed attention to him. First they were learning about Ninjago history.
"Who here can tell me about Garmadon?" Dareth asked the class.
Ashley blushed because she knew all of her father's stories about her grandfather, but she was too embarrassed to say anything.
"Ashley surely you know." Dareth pointed to her.
"He was bitten by the great devourer a long time ago, but now he is reformed." Ashley said. "He's the brother of master Wu, and the father of Lloyd Garmadon. He gave his life to save Ninjago, but then he was resurrected by my father's ex, although me and my brother are not allowed to say her name in the house."
"Very good." Dareth told her. "What about Chen?"
Trent buried his face in his hands. That was one thing he and Ashley had in common, it was that they both had evil grandfathers. Well Chen was more insane than he was evil but still it was embarrassing for him.
"Trent, you should know correct?" Dareth put him on the spot.
"Chen tried to trick all the elemental masters to participate in a fake tournament in order to steal everyone's powers for himself so he could turn him and his minions into anacondrai." Trent answered, rolling his eyes.
"And he invented those delicious puffy pot stickers." DJ said smiling and rubbing his stomach.
"You got that right junior." Dareth pointed at DJ.
Everyone in the class agreed and laughed. It made Trent feel a little better about his situation.
"Alright let's move on." Dareth told his students.
Dareth taught them all sorts of subjects until the bell rang for lunch. During lunch. Then Ashley, Trent and DJ were sitting with the other first graders at the cafeteria table.
"So what do your parents do?" Trent asked DJ.
"Well my mom is a news reporter and my dad is a teacher." He sighed. "Our teacher."
"You mean Mr. Dareth is your father?" Ashley asked.
"Yeah, it's embarrassing I know." DJ blushed.
"No it's not, we all have embarrassing relatives." Trent told him. "Just take my grandpa Chen for example."
"Or my grandpa Garmadon." Ashley added.
"I guess we're all in the same boat." DJ smiled.
The three of them became best friends and promised to always be friends no matter what. They all could face school together now.
