Lloyd's P.O.V.:

I was still in the car with Skylor and we had arrived at the Birchwood Forest.

"Sergeant Smith, please respond." The radio beeped.

"Sergeant Smith, go." Skylor said into her radio.

"We got sight of an 11-24, it matches the description and license plate of the car from the alert. Over."

"Relay your coordinates and I'm on my way. Over and out." She said.

She check the computer and started driving that direction.

"Wait, does that mean they found Kira?" I asked.

"No, it means they found the vehicle abandoned, which means he most likely ditched the car and took off with her on foot, or in this case teleported with her somewhere." She frowned.

"What? He could've taken her anywhere!"

"Finding the car is lucky break. Kira's smart, she probably figured out where they were going and left us a clue." Skylor assured me.

"I hope you're right." I frowned.

A few minutes later, we arrived at the site of the car. I saw the car with the hood crushed up against a tree. I was so scared for Kira's life.

"Oh no." I frowned.

"I've seen people survive way worse than this." Skylor said. "They didn't report a body so most likely she got away. I've been to a lot of crime scenes and it may be unsettling, so you don't have to come with me if you don't want to."

"No, I'm going to save my wife, whatever it takes."

She nodded and we got out of the car. Skylor walked up to the scene and asked around to the other officers on scene. I immediately ran up to the passenger's side in the car. I looked through the window and saw a lot of blood on the dash of the passenger side.

Memories in my head kept flashing back to the sounds of those gunshots at the gas station. My wife laying in the puddle of blood, unconscious and bleeding out, not knowing if that would be the last time I ever saw her. How could I let this happen again? What kind of husband am I? What kind of father am I?

"Lloyd, come with me a minute." Skylor said.

"No, you're going to tell me that she's gone. I don't want to hear that." I started hyperventilating.

"We don't know if the blood is hers. Forensics hasn't come back with the results yet, and even if it is her blood, it doesn't mean we won't find her alive."

"There's all these thoughts coming back in my head. She barely survived last time and now I'm not there to help her."

"Come sit down in my car for a few minutes." Skylor said.

I didn't want to because it seemed like a waste of time, but Skylor escorted me to the back of her police car anyway. I took a few minutes to recollect myself. I just couldn't imagine what she could be going through right now.

"Is there anything I can do?" Skylor asked.

"Just tell me if Kira is ok." I said.

"We don't know yet, but I can guarantee that we are doing everything we can to find her."

"But will you find her alive?" I looked at her.

"I can't confirm that yet, but that doesn't mean we won't."

"That's not the answer I want."

"Unfortunately that's the only one I have at the moment." She frowned. "Just take some deep breaths and try to relax, I know a crime scene can be really triggering for someone who's gone through that kind of trauma and it's even harder when it's someone you love."

"But the case, we can't just sit here and do nothing, we have to..."

"I know, and if I find anything I will let you know, but right now I need you to relax. You being in a panicked state is not what Kira needs right now. Ok?"

"Ok." I took a deep breath.

"There's some waters underneath my seat if you need one, and me and my officers will be right out here if you need anything else."

"Thanks." I sighed and tried to calm down.

She left to talk to one of the other officers hovering around the scene. I took a water and tried my best to breathe and calm down. I even tried meditating a little but that wasn't working, I wasn't relaxed enough.

After a few minutes I was still on edge, but Skylor was right. I was no help to anyone like this. Not to Skylor, Kira or the kids.

"Lloyd are you feeling better?" Skylor came over to check on me.

"About as well as I can be right now." I said. "Thanks for not dragging me out of there in handcuffs Skylor."

"Of course not, being a cop is more than tracking down criminals and giving traffic tickets. We're here to protect and serve, but also to keep the peace and look out for other's wellbeing, and that includes calming a friend down when they are having a triggering panic attack."

"Wow, I never thought about it like that. I guess it's a lot like being a ninja ha?"

"Exactly." She smiled.

"Did they find anything else at the scene?" I asked.

"They checked the registration and confirmed it's the right vehicle, and they actually found this in the glovebox." She handed me a receipt with writing on the back. "As her family member, can you confirm that's her handwriting?"

"Yeah it is!" I smiled. "This says they went to Zane's father's laboratory. That must be where he took her."

"Then we have to get going." Skylor said.

I moved to the front seat and Skylor took off with her sirens on and the whole department was following us.

"Hang on just a little longer Kira, we're coming." I said.

Kira's P.O.V.:

I woke up tied to a chair in Zane's father's old laboratory. My head really hurt and it and I could tell it was still bleeding. I couldn't move my leg any and my wrist felt like it was sprained, maybe fractured.

All I could think about was my kids. What was Lloyd going to say to them when they get back? How was he going to break the news that I was gone? I didn't want them to go through that.

"Ahh, you're awake now." Jett said.

"You better let me go before Lloyd finds me." I said.

"Did you forget that I have the power to send you absolutely anywhere I want?" He laughed. "If they do show up here, all I have to do is teleport you away. Maybe alone on a deserted island where you can starve yourself to death? Or the middle of Torchfire Mountain? Or I hear the bottom of Tartarus Trench is nice this time of year."

"You must want something from me or you wouldn't have gone through all that trouble to kidnap me." I said.

"True, but there's only one way I let you walk free." He said. "Give me my daughter."

"You signed away your rights, she's not your daughter anymore."

"Yes, so it won't count as a family abuse when I take her powers from her."

"Her powers aren't developed enough to survive a transfer, and even if they were she would have to give them up willingly, which she wouldn't do."

"She will if that's the only way to save you." He crossed her arms.

"Why are you doing this?"

"Because if I can't get my revenge on you, I can at least make sure I never lose my powers."

"Ok first of all, any part of you that's comfortable enough to kill a four year old little girl, let alone your own bio daughter, is pure evil. And secondly that's not how powers work. If you take out Olivia, the powers will go to another person, a more worthy person."

"And how do you know that?"

"I married a ninja, I've been around elemental masters all my life." I said.

"You're bluffing."

"I'm not lying. My grandmother was an elemental master and so are my kids. I know what I'm talking about."

"No, that's probably just you hallucinating from the concussion. This machine will be able transfer the powers to me and if she doesn't survive the process, well then that's too bad." He shrugged. "Relax, it's not like I'm going to shoot her in the heart or anything. I'm not a monster."

"I beg to differ." I mumbled under my breath. "They caught you once Jett, and they will do it again before you even know where that little girl is."

"Oh I know where they are."

"If that's true what's stopping you from going and getting them right now?"

"Because ever since that little power thief was born mine have been getting weaker every day. I couldn't teleport there across the ocean like I used to, but hopefully this will fix everything."

"Oh Lloyd, please hurry." I whispered.

Ryder's P.O.V.:

We were still on that island and the tremors were getting worse and worse. Allison was having trouble keeping them under control, even with Amber's help.

"Ok, I think it stopped for now." Allison said, catching her breath.

"You ok cookie?" Amber asked her.

"Yeah, just tired." She caught her breath.

"Ryder, I have repaired the portal." Alex said.

"Ok then let's get going." I said.

"However there is still the matter of charging the portal." Alex said.

"Lena, do you know any kind of spells that can work?" I asked.

"I do, but what's in it for me?" She asked.

"How about not being crushed to death?!" Jax yelled.

"Yeah, ok. That's a good reason." Lena agreed.

As Lena started doing the spell and the rest of us got ready to leave, the ground started to shake again. This one felt really strong.

"I... I can't hold it." Allison screamed.

"Olivia, let me have your power." Amber said touching her shoulder.

"What are you planning?" I asked.

"We'll hold it off, just go through the portal, we'll be right behind you." Amber said.

I nodded and then once the portal was opened, I pushed everyone through and then we all fell out the other side.

"Oh, hi." I said after we all fell out of the portal.

"Alex!" Cass ran into his arms so fast it almost knocked him over. "I am so happy you are ok!"

"I missed you too Cass." Alex smiled.

"Ryder!" Katie gave me a hug.

"Katie." I hugged her back.

"You smell so bad right now but I don't even care!"

"Yeah, well we have been bathing in the ocean for the past month." I said.

All of a sudden, Amber and Allison teleported into the room. They looked exhausted, but happy to be home.

"Are you guys ok?" Blake asked them.

"Yeah, we're fine." Allison said. "Just tired."

"Wait, I'm sorry, who are these guys?" Jax asked.

"Guys, this is the backup junior ninja team." I said.

"Pleased to meet you, m'lady." Oliver got down on his knees and kissed Lily's hand.

"Oh, nice to meet you too." Lily blushed. "I'm Lily."

"Lily, what a fitting name for a lovely flower." He grew a lily flower from his hand and gave it to her. "Oliver, master of nature, at your service."

"Thank you that's so sweet." Lily smiled and put the flower in her hair.

"You can flirt with my sister later." Jax said, giving Oliver the stink eye. "We have to contact our parents."

"Jax is right, can we borrow some phones?" I asked.

Cass let Alex use his phone to contact Zane and Pixal, Oliver let the Walkers use his to call Jay and Nya, Maizy let Amber, Blake and Trent call their dad with her phone, Trip let Allison get in contact with Cole, and I borrowed Katie's to get in touch with my dad.

"Hello?" My dad answered the phone.

"Daddy!" Ashley screamed into the phone.

"Is that you sunshine? I am so happy to hear your voice again. Are you three ok?" He said.

"We're alright, we ended up in Mom's treehouse with the junior ninja." Ethan explained.

"Hi Ethan. I missed you tiger."

"I missed you two dad." He smiled.

"Where's Mom?" Ashley asked. "Is she there too?"

"Umm... not at the moment, but I know she'll be thrilled to hear that you're back."

"Do you think you can come and get us?" Ethan asked.

"Not at the moment, I'm in the middle of something important, but I'll send Wu and Grandpa to come stay with you until I'm done."

"But we want to see you, what are you doing that's so important?" Ethan asked.

"Kids, there's something I have to tell you and this isn't going to be easy to hear." He sighed. "Your mother's accident I mentioned was more severe than we admitted to in that letter. She got hurt really bad."

"Is she dead?!" Ethan screamed.

"Ethan, I'm sorry, but I... I don't know." My father sighed.

"You don't know?" Ashley frowned.

"She's missing, but I'm working with the police and we think we know where she is, but the man who took her is extremely dangerous and I don't want you guys anywhere near him."

"But this is our mom, we need to help her!" Ryder said.

"I said no! He's after you kids and it will be a cold day in the cursed realm before I let what happened to your mom happen to you too." Dad stated. "Now I will do everything I can to get your mom back safe, but this is a mission you three need to stay far away from."

"Wait dad, what if we..."

"Ryder this isn't a negotiation." Dad said. "Now I'm sending Wu, he'll take you to his apartment so you guys can eat and clean yourselves up. By the time you get done I'll be home, and hopefully I'll have your mom back safe. Ok?"

"Hopefully? No dad, that's not ok. Why won't you let us help?" Ethan said.

"Yeah, my powers are almost fully back, I can heal her." Ashley said.

"I said no! N. O. And that goes for all three of you." He yelled. "I will not have this conversation again. Now I gotta go."

"Ok, we love you Dad." I frowned.

"Good luck." Ashley said.

"See you later, I love you." He hung up the phone.

"What the heck was that about?" Ethan ranted.

"You said that you've been in contact with Dad, do you know what actually happened to Mom?" Ashley said.

"She... she got shot during a robbery at a gas station right after our ship wrecked." I frowned. "She survived after emergency surgery and suffering a coma. The last thing that Dad told me before we fixed the portal was that the guy who shot her was set free during his trial."

"Is he the one that has mom?" Ashley asked.

"Probably, it sounds like him." I frowned.

"The rest of our parents will be here as soon as they can." Amber said. "We can ask them what happened when they get here."

"The question is whether they tell us the truth, unlike someone." Ethan looked at me.

"Dad left it up to me to tell you what happened and I decided that it was stressful enough being trapped on the island so I didn't want to add to that, so I chose not to tell you."

"Well it would've been nice to know that our mother almost died that the guy is still after her." Ashley said.

"According to the police scanner, they are outside Alex's Grandfather's old lab in the Birchwood forest." Cass said.

"I can teleport you there." Olivia said.

"Olivia, that sounds like a really bad idea." Jax said.

"Yeah, we have to keep you away from him at all costs. Mom and Dad said so." Lily said.

"I don't see what other choice we have." Ethan said. "We have to save my mom!"

"Ethan, the best thing we can do right now is wait and do exactly what Dad said. He can handle saving Mom by himself." I told him.

"No! I need to be there!" Ethan said. "Olivia, can you teleport me there?"

"Yeah, I guess." She answered, grabbing Ethan's hands.

"Ethan wait!" I screamed.

Olivia teleported away with him. I was so scared for them.

"Ryder, I have still Olivia's power, we could follow her." Amber said.

"Ok, let's hurry before they get themselves into more trouble." I said.

"I wanna go too. Mom could be hurt." Ashley insisted.

"Fine, only because I have no time to argue." I said.

"Hey, Ashley." Trent walked up to her and grabbed her hands. "Be careful. I love you."

"I love you too." Ashley kissed his cheek.

"Dad is already on the way to pick you two up." Amber told her brothers.

"And what do we say when he asks where you are?" Blake asked.

"Just come up with something ok? We have to go now if we're going to save Olivia and Ethan."

"Ok, but be careful." Trent said.

"We gotta go." I said.

"Ok, let's go."

Amber grabbed us and teleported us outside of the lab. We saw Olivia and Ethan walking towards the door.

"Ethan!" I tried to whisper but he didn't hear me.

"Olivia!" Amber tried to get her attention.

"It's no use, we're too far away." Ashley frowned.

"We need to get closer." Amber said.

"I have a plan, we can..."

All of a sudden a police car pulled up behind, shining its headlights in our faces. They chirped the siren.

"Ryder Wu Garmadon! Ashley Rose Garmadon!" My dad's voice came over the megaphone and he sounded very angry. "Get in this car right now!"

"You too Amber Lynn!" Skylor's voice came over the speaker.

We all put our hands up in surrender and squeezed into the back of the cop car. We got quite the mouthful from our parents.

"You deliberately disobeyed me Ryder! I specifically told you not to come! Do you know what could've happened to you if he found you?" My dad screamed at us.

"And Amber you should know better than this. I'm sure your dad told you how important this mission was, and if you guys scare him away we could be back to square one with finding him and Kira." Skylor said.

"And Ashley you're not off the hook either. This was extremely irresponsible of you guys."

"Dad, if you would stop yelling at us for two seconds and let us explain, you'll see we have more pressing matters to deal with." I said.

"Fine, you have two minutes." Skylor said.

"I told everyone what happened to Mom after we got to the treehouse. I had to tell them." I said.

"And then Ethan got really upset and asked Olivia to teleport him here." Ashley frowned.

"Since I had already absorbed her power to get Allison and I off the island, we decided to go after them, but we teleported too far away to get their attention." Amber said.

"And we were about to save them, but that's when you caught up to us." Ashley said.

"Wait, Ethan and Olivia are out here too?" Skylor looked at my father.

"Why didn't you mention that earlier?" My father asked.

"Because you were too busy yelling at us." Ashley crossed her arms.

"We have to find them before Jett does!" My father screamed.

"Seatbelts on everyone. I guess you're coming along." Skylor said.

We all buckled up and Skylor took off with the lights and sirens wailing. Honestly I was just hoping we find my mother, and now my brother and Olivia. I'm a terrible leader for letting them do this. Dad shouldn't have put all his trust in me.
