Epilogue: The Wedding
Hey guys, I'm so sorry for the awkward silence on my part. It's been a busy month with the holidays and everything, plus I had like a million different ideas for this epilogue, but I finally settled on one. Once again, sorry for the wait, but here it is. I hope you enjoy it.

Liv's P.O.V.:
After a lot of thinking and soul searching, I decided today was the day. I called the nurse back, got the address to the apartment, and asked my sponsor to drive me. We parked in front of the building and I took a deep breath.
"Are you sure you don't want me to come with you?" Gia asked.
"No, this is something I have to do alone." I said. "I'm just going to go in there, let him say whatever he needs to say, and leave. That's it."
"You haven't been alone with your father since you were 16. Are you sure you want to do that?"
"He wants to make amends with me, and according to his nurse he's been sober for years. I know I don't owe him anything, but I wasn't exactly the perfect daughter either. I need to make my amends with him too."
"Ok, I'll be waiting here if anything happens."
"Thanks."
I gave my sponsor a hug and then made my way into the building. I found the apartment number I was looking for. I hesitated a minute, but then I knocked. A few seconds later, a young nurse with brown hair and brown eyes and wearing scrubs answered the door.
"Hi, is this Greg Benson's apartment?" I asked.
"Yes, you must be his daughter." The nurse shook my hand. "I'm Dianne."
"Call me Liv." I said.
"He's right in there." She pointed towards the bedroom. "He told me a little about what happened. I can come with you if you'd like."
"No thank you, I just want to get it over with." I said.
"Ok, I'll be preparing his lunch in the kitchen if you need me."
"Thank you."
I took a deep breath and entered the room. I saw my father and he was almost unrecognizable other than his tattoos. I sat down in the chair by the bed. I had a whole speech prepared, but now that I was actually here I didn't know where to start.
"Wow, look at you." He said sitting up. "You've grown up so much."
"Save it, I'm only here because you're dying, and it's important to my sobriety that I make my amends." I crossed my arms.
"Oh your sober too?" He asked. "How long?"
"Almost five years." I said. "You?"
"I got sober two years after you ran away. One day I ran out of alcohol and experienced a moment of clarity. Every horrible thing I've done has been playing in my head like a broken record and now... now I realized how bad of a person I was, how bad of a father I was. I need to make my amends to you."
"Well make it quick." I said.
"Wait, why are you on crutches?" He asked.
"It's a long story. My ex was crazy and he was trying to get to my daughter and caused my car to get in an accident, I don't want to get into it."
"I'm a grandpa?" He smiled.
"No, I had to find a family to adopt her. And even if I didn't you weren't enough of a father to earn that title." I crossed my arms.
"Ok, I deserve that." He said before he had a coughing fit.
"It's an open adoption, so I'm still in her life, but I wasn't fit to be her primary caretaker. She's with good people and she loves her family."
"Glad to hear it." He said. "Anyway, I know nothing I say is going to matter, but I was never there for you, and the times that I was..."
"You don't have to talk about it."
"Right, well then, I just wanted to apologize and I want you know that I'm a changed man now, and I would really love it if we could start over?"
"Look, I'm glad you're doing better for yourself, and that's great, but I don't want a relationship with you." I sighed. "You hurt me so bad I don't think there's anything left to save."
"I understand." He frowned. "Thank you for at least hearing me out."
"Yeah, well I gotta go." I said picking up my purse. "Goodbye."
I left without saying another word. I didn't want anything to do with him anymore, but I at least heard him out. I was proud of the fact he was doing better, but that didn't change anything about how I felt about him.
I went back to the car and had a quick talk with Gia. I didn't want a relationship with that man, but at least we both said what we had to say.
***6 months later***
Narrator's P.O.V.:
Today was the day of Amber and Allison's wedding. Amber had asked Lily to be her maid of honor and Allison had asked Ryder to be her man of honor. Jax, Blake, Trent, Ashley, Ethan, and Alex made up the rest of the wedding party. Olivia was their flower girl and Ben and CJ were the joint the ring-bearers. Wu had been ordained over the internet and was officiating the ceremony. All the parents and the back up junior ninja were in the audience in the middle of the park on a bright sunny afternoon.
Once the rest of the wedding party took their places, Allison showed herself up at the alter in her white pantsuit. Her parents took her by the arms and walked her down the grassy aisle. That dropped her off at the alter.
"Your grandparents would be so proud of you, and so are we cupcake." Cole said in her ear.
"We love you." Her mother smiled.
"I love you guys too." Allison smiled.
She gave them both a hug and took her spot at the alter. The audience turned around and saw Amber in a peach colored, tee length wedding dress. Her parents walked her down the aisle and Allison was mesmerized by the sight of her new bride.
Once Kai and Skylor gave her away, they took their seats in the front. Wu began the ceremony and asked for the vows. Allison went first.
"Amber, I can't believe the day is finally here." Allison took her hands. "For the longest time, I was alone in my life, but I always had my best friend. I never imagined that I would end up falling in love with her, let alone marrying her. I love you."
"Awww." The audience gushed.
"Allison." Amber looked into her eyes. "When we met, I didn't know what I liked yet. I didn't know if I was into boys or girls or both, but somehow before I knew who I was, I knew I loved you, and I loved you more than just a friend. You helped me discover who I am, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."
"Awwww." The audience gushed again.
"With the power vested in me by the realm of Ninjago and the internet, I now pronounce you, Mrs. And Mrs. Brookstone-Smith. You may kiss your bride." Wu said.
Amber and Allison kissed each other and everyone clapped and stood up to applaud them. Allison picked up her new bride and carried her down the aisle.
Later that day, they all went to the reception and danced and mingled with each other. After Allison's and Amber's father-daughter dances, all the couples including Ryder and Katie, Ashley and Trent, and Cass and Alex, all slow danced on the floor together.
Lily was sitting at the table with her brother watching everyone dance when Oliver came up to her.
"Don't you want to go and dance sis?" Jax asked.
"I do, but it'll look weird if I go out there by myself." She sighed.
"I thought you were seeing that nature guy." Jax said.
"His name is Oliver, and I really like him, but after I took my lifeguard job at the pool, we haven't had enough time to actually go out." She frowned.
"Yeah, my job at the comic book shop keeps me busy too. I feel like I'm never gonna meet the right person." He frowned.
"It's like Dad says. When you find the one, you just know."
"Yeah, I guess." Jax sighed.
All of a sudden, someone tapped Lily on the shoulder. She turned around and saw Oliver holding a lily flower.
"Oh Oliver hi, I didn't see you there." Lily said.
"May I have this dance?" He asked holding his hand out.
"I thought you'd never ask." Lily smiled and joined him on the dance floor.
Meanwhile Katie and Ryder were dancing together and talking.
"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" Ryder asked her.
"Well, I told you that I was saving up for an apartment right?" I asked.
"Yeah, I remember." Ryder nodded.
"Well, I actually saved up enough money and I found this great place in the city. I was wondering if you'd like to move in with me?" Katie asked him.
"Wow, that's a big step... I... I don't know." Ryder said nervously.
"You don't have to answer right away, I just want you to think about it. Ok?"
"Yeah, ok." Ryder smiled. "I'll think about it. Thanks Katie."
Kai noticed Blake sitting at his table and he was rubbing his shoulder. He came over to see what the problem was.
"Hey buddy, are you ok?" Kai asked.
"Yeah, I've just been practicing a lot." He said. "Try outs for the basketball team are next week and I want to be ready."
"I know you've been practicing, but is your shoulder still hurting from when you hurt it on the island?"
"Yeah, but it's just sore. It's probably nothing to worry about." Blake said.
"I don't know buddy. If it's been six months and it's still bothering you, we might want to get it checked out, just to make sure everything's ok."
"Fine, but don't tell Amber about this yet, I don't want this to ruin her wedding." Blake frowned.
"Ok." Kai said. "Don't worry buddy, I'll make you an appointment tomorrow."
"Thanks Dad." Blake said.
Blake and Kai went back to enjoying the party. Ashley and Trent, who now were officially boyfriend and girlfriend, got to chatting.
"So, I know this probably isn't the best time to tell you, but we need to talk about something." Ashley said to Trent.
"Ok, did I do something wrong?" Trent asked nervously.
"No no, of course not, but I do have something I need to tell you."
"What's going on?" He asked.
"I got into nursing school."
"You did? That's fantastic! Why were you so nervous to tell me?"
"Because the school is just outside of Stixx."
"Oh, so that means you're... moving?" Trent frowned.
"Not forever, the program is only two years, and it's only a couple hours away. Plus I'll have summers off and I can visit you on the weekends and..."
"Wait, did you think I was going to dump you because you want to go to your dream school?"
"Well, I didn't know how you were going to take it."
"Ashley, this is amazing for you. I would never stand in your way." Trent grabbed her hand. "I don't want to lose you, but I don't want to be the reason you can't follow your own dreams."
"I don't want to lose you either." Ashley said. "Do you want to try the long distance thing?"
"Yeah, I think we can make that work." Trent smiled. "Matt and I are going to open a car repair shop together anyway, so that's going to keep us busy."
"Oh yeah. I hope it works out." Ashley smiled.
"Yeah, me too." Trent said, obviously a little nervous.
"Hey, don't worry." Ashley grabbed his hand. "I'll be there the whole time, might be over video chat but, still."
"Thanks Ash. I love you."
"I love you too." Ashley smiled.
*with Lloyd and Kira*
"Well, that's it. They're all grown up." Kira said, watching her children dance with their partners.
"Well we still have Ethan." Lloyd said.
"Yeah, I'm worried about him being alone. I mean Ashley's going off to college and Ryder's probably going to move in Katie soon."
"What do you want to do? Have another kid?"
"I've actually been thinking about that, and honestly, as much as I miss that baby, I don't think I could handle the stress of another pregnancy right now." Kira said with a frown.
"Yeah, I understand. You've been through a lot." Lloyd nodded.
"I was thinking of more putting him in school, you know, where he can make friends his own age."
"Yeah, we should talk to him about it. His powers are still pretty unstable at this age."
"We'll work it out. Right now let's just be happy that the whole family is still together in this moment." Lloyd said.
"You're right. As of this moment, everything is perfect and that's what we should focus on." Kira grabbed Lloyd's hand.
Lloyd nodded and smiled at his wife, happy to still have her after everything they went through.
Cole, Seleil, Kirby and the twins were sitting at a table.
"Daddy, are we going to have cake soon?" Ben asked.
"Yeah, I'm starving!" CJ said, rubbing his stomach.
"You two certainly got that big appetite from your father." Seleil laughed.
"They're going to serve dessert after we eat dinner, ok?" Cole said.
"But that means you boys have to eat everything on your plate, including the vegetables." Seleil said.
"Awe Mom." They both sighed.
"Hey guys." Allison came to the table, holding hands with her new wife.
"Hey cupcake!" Cole gave her a hug.
"I can't believe it. Our little girl found the love of her life." Seleil said hugging her.
"I know, it's amazing. Congratulations girls." Kirby smiled.
"Thanks Uncle Kirby." Allison smiled.
"Are you guys enjoying everything?" Amber asked.
"Yeah, you girls did a great job." Cole smiled.
"Thanks, it was everything we wanted." Allison said.
"We actually wanted to talk to you guys." Amber smiled and grabbed her new wife's hand.
"We have decided that we are going to open a bakery." Allison smiled.
"Oh that's so great for you guys." Cole smiled.
"CJ, you know what that means?" Ben looked at his brother.
"Free cake for life!" CJ gave Ben a high five.
"Sure guys." Allison laughed.
"Yeah, someone my mom used to work with runs his own bakery now and is about to retire, so we're going to take over the shop for him." Amber said.
"That's a big job, are you sure you guys are up for that?" Seleil asked.
"Yeah, back when my mom ran Chen's noodle house, she taught me all about how to run a business." Amber said.
"Yeah, and I still have all those recipes Grandpa and I made together." Allison said.
"He would be so proud of you cupcake." Cole smiled. "Heaven knows I am."
"Thanks Dad." She hugged him."
Alex and Cass were still slow dancing on the dance floor.
"So, when are we going to tell everyone?" Cass asked.
"We must wait until the festivities are over. I do not wish to overshadow the brides." Alex said.
"Yeah that makes sense." Cass nodded. "Us becoming yangs is a big step, we should wait for the right time."
"I still cannot wait to spend the rest of my activation with you." Alex smiled.
"Me too." Cass kissed his cheek.
After the reception was over, the newlywed wives went on their honeymoon and afterwards started their bakery together.
A few months later, everyone was starting to explore their futures. It finally looked like everything was coming together for everyone.
