The Next Plan of Attack
So a while back I asked you guys on my profile who your favorite villain kid was and most of said that you didn't know enough about each one to pick a favorite. I guess that's my fault for not focusing on them (other than Maizy) so I wrote this chapter to focus on each of the VKA members.
Oh and just a reminder, anything that happened after MotO (including seasons 11, 12 and 13) didn't happen in this story, so to be more open to the newer seasons I might start referencing things from those seasons and maybe bring in a few elements for the junior ninja and/or VKA to explore. I hope that makes things a bit more exciting.
I also want to give a big thank you to lightninggirl15 for helping me get over my writer's block and giving me some awesome ideas for this chapter and a few others to come. Enjoy the chapter.

Maizy's P.O.V.:
I woke up and got out of bed. It felt good to say that now that my bed was an actual bed and not just a mattress on the floor. A lot of other things changed since my father was arrested. I could go out more, I could sleep in as late as I want, and my uncle even talked about getting me a dog once we move into a new house. I was really enjoying my new life, but there was still one thing I couldn't escape.
When I joined the Villain Kid Alliance, I didn't know how hard it would be to quit. They couldn't risk their cover being blown, so if one of us wanted to leave then Lena would have to erase all my memories made after I got there. That would mean I wouldn't remember what happened with my father after he kidnapped the Garmadons, or how they helped me, or worst of all, I would forget seeing my mother for the last time. That's something that I couldn't bare to think about.
Ever since I found out the truth, my uncle would tell me all kinds of stories from when he and my mom were growing up together. He would show me pictures in old photo albums he had hidden from my father long ago. Even though I never knew her, it felt nice to have some memories of her. I didn't want to lose them, meaning I couldn't quit the VKA.
I remembered what Ryder said when I ran into him at the pancake house. I know that I should do what he asked, but do I really want to sabotage my friends like that? I know they're the bad guys, but they're the only friends I've ever had. I didn't want them to get into trouble.
"Maizy?" I heard my uncle knocking on my door.
"Come in." I said.
My uncle opened the door and peeked into the room.
"Sorry, did I wake you?" He asked.
"No, I was up already." I told him. "What's up?"
"Have you decided what you're going to do about the VKA yet?" He asked.
"I think... I think I want to help the junior ninja."
"Are you sure about this? If they find out you're helping them, they won't be happy."
"Relax Uncle Zach, I've got it all planned out. There's a meeting today to figure out their next plan. Once I figure it out I'll come up with an excuse to leave and then warn Ryder."
"I can't tell you not to do this, but I hope you'll be careful."
"I will, don't worry." I hugged him.
"Oh, I might not be home when you get back."
"Why not?" I frowned.
"Because I'm going out to look for a job today. The sooner I start making some money we can get a house without a dungeon in the basement." He laughed.
"Alright, well good luck." I said.
"Thanks, I'll need it." He sighed.
Although I was happy with my new living situation, I did miss being able to leave whenever I wanted. My father never noticed if I left the house so I didn't really have to ask to leave, but one of my uncle's few rules was that he had to know where I was at all times and I had a curfew now. I missed the freedom I used to have, but he was just doing it because he cares about me and that was certainly better than being ignored at home. I guess that was just a rule I was gonna have to get used to.
He left my room and then I got dressed and headed off to the meeting on my scooter. I just hoped I was doing the right thing.
Axel's P.O.V.:
I was in the old abandoned warehouse that I called a home. It wasn't a bad setup, I had the place to myself, well almost. After some minor repairs to my leg I was able to walk again. I was relaxing in the old reclining lawn chair when the old TV lit up with those familiar red eyes.
"Axel!" That deep voice yelled.
"Yes Master." I gave him my full attention.
"Has the task been completed?"
"Yes sir. A-1310 has been eliminated."
"You lie." I heard the anger in his voice. "I still sense it's presence."
"That's impossible! I hit him in the heart with the weapon you designed. He has to be offline by now."
"The exoskeleton is deactivated but it's code still exists. It's powers are still active. I know it is out there and you need to find it." He said.
"But Master you promised if I did what you asked you would..."
All of a sudden I felt a shocking sensation running through my circuits. I screamed and fell to my knees as the pain got worse.
"Remember this nindroid. I built you and I can dismantle you, and unless you want to turn into a pile of scrap metal I suggest you do not fail me again." He threatened. "Is that understood, drone?"
"Y-yes sir." I fought the pain and stood up the best I could. "You will not be disappointed."
"I better not be."
He finally left and the TV went back to regularly scheduled programming. I took a minute to regain my strength. Maybe eventually the Overlord will keep his promise and I can be a free nindroid, but until then I'll have play his games. I didn't have any other choice. I had to find Alex and eliminate him.
Seth's P.O.V.:
I was in the temple ready to start the next meeting of the Villain Kid Alliance. Well almost, Maizy and Axel weren't here yet. Marcus, Zera and I were all sitting on the couch. Lena was in her usual spot meditating in the corner. She says it helps her be in touch with her power. We weren't sure if it actually worked, but we knew not to question her.
I noticed Marcus sitting next to me. He was just starring at Lena. almost in a trance-like state.
"Hello? Earth to Marcus?" I waved my hand in front of his face.
He didn't budge. He just sighed and continued starring. I looked over at Zera and she just shrugged.
Lena opened one of her eyes and the way Marcus was looking at her.
"May I help you?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Oh... I... uh... just wanted to know how you get so deep into meditation like that." He said.
"Well it's a lot easier without interruptions." She scowled at him.
"Right, right, sorry." Marcus apologized. "Continue."
"Well I can't now, you made me loose my focus." She said.
"Oh sorry." Marcus frowned.
"I need some air, let me know when they get here." She walked out of the room.
Marcus facepalmed as soon as Lena left the room. I could tell he was embarrassed.
"Hahahaha someone's got a little crush on the magician." Zera laughed.
"I can't help it, she's just so... mysterious and cool."
"And way out of your league." I laughed and so did Zera.
"I can't go out with her anyways, we have a job to do here." He said. "We do not have time for such silly distractions."
"Oh so you do like her?" I smirked.
"Shut up." He punched me on the shoulder.
Zera's P.O.V
As I set there with the boys, I was constantly checking my phone for any word from Maizy. We had been best friends for as long as I could remember. Since I didn't have any family, she was the only thing I had left.
When I first met her, I had just lost my parents. I wasn't sure where to go or what was gonna happened next so we started a life of crime ourselves. We were an unstoppable duo, but lately she hasn't been wanting to do things like that with me. I found it strange.
Maizy's P.O.V.:
I walked into the meeting and set down next to Zera. She seemed happy to see me. Axel limped in behind me and took his seat as well. He seemed upset and hurt in his leg, but we all knew not to mess with him when he was in a bad mood.
"Finally, everybody's here." Marcus said. "Now I can officially call this meeting of the Villain Kid Alliance to order."
"Why did you call us all here anyway?" Axel complained.
"Marcus and I have been doing some research and we have discovered something that may be able to help us." Seth said as he rolled out a scroll on the coffee table.
"Whoa." All of us exclaimed.
"This scroll tells of a master that learned the ancient art of forbidden Spinjitsu." Seth continued. "It made any elemental master ten times more powerful than ever before. There were only two scrolls in existence and according to the Ninjago City archives, one of them is right here in the Ninjago Museum of History."
"So are you saying if we get that scroll, we can finally be powerful enough to defeat the junior ninja?" Zera asked.
"Yes, but why stop there? With that kind of power we can take over all of Ninjago!" Seth exclaimed.
Everyone around me started to celebrate the big discovery and that we stood a fighting chance. We started to come up with a plan to rob the museum tonight. I had to tell Ryder before we got there.
While they were all busy discussing the details of the plan, I was trying to make a break for it, but Zera saw me as I was about to step out the door.
"Maizy, where are you going?" Zera crossed her arms. The others turned their heads and looked at me.
"Oh umm... my father needs to see me right now. You know how it is." I lied.
"Wasn't your father arrested right after the fight with the junior ninja team?" Lena questioned.
"Yes, but he needs me to visit him in Kryptarian. He said it's urgent."
"What, he has a mission for you that's better than stealing an ancient scroll that could give us ultimate power?" Marcus raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know why he wants me, but it's probably nothing too big. I promise I'll meet you guys at the museum tonight."
"Fine, but don't be late and make sure you aren't followed. We don't need anymore uninvited guests." Marcus said.
I nodded and ran back outside. I took my scooter back the house and my uncle wasn't home yet, so I let myself in and once I made sure the coast was clear, I texted Ryder the plan we had come up with. I just hoped I didn't get caught and they ended up in more trouble.
Ryder's P.O.V.:
I was in the living room on my phone constantly checking it for any contact from Maizy. She told me that the VKA was having a meeting today, and she would let me know what happens. It was driving me crazy that I hadn't heard from her yet.
The only person I told about the deal that Maizy and I made was my grandfather because he insisted that I tell him after we got back from breakfast. I tried to get him not to tell my parents but he said it was up to me to tell them. I didn't want to, but if I wanted to keep my team safe, I needed to know if I made the right decision, and to be honest I'm not sure that I did.
"Hey bud." My dad limped into the living room.
"Hi Dad, are you ok?" I asked.
"Yeah, just still recovering that's all." He smiled and set down next to me. ""Your mom said you've been a little distant this morning. Anything on your mind?"
"Well, I don't know if Grandpa told you but when he took us out to breakfast yesterday, I ran into someone."
"Who?"
"I ran into Maizy and her uncle. I didn't start up any trouble but she said she wants to be good now and I don't know if I believe her."
"Did she quit the VKA yet?" He asked.
"She said she wanted to but it's too hard for her to quit, so I... offered her a deal."
"What kind of deal?" Dad raised an eyebrow.
"I said if she let's me in on what the VKA is up to, that I wouldn't turn her in."
"And do you think she'll keep her promise?" My Dad asked.
"Well at first I did but she hasn't gotten in touch with me yet and I'm starting to regret my decision." I frowned. "Do you think I made the right choice?"
"Son, you're the leader now and I trust you to make decisions that's best for your team." He said. "I taught you to trust your instincts, and if you really trust her then you might be right. But just remember that not everyone is willing to change."
"Is this about Harumi again?" I rolled my eyes.
"Ryder, you know we don't say that name in this house." Dad said sternly.
"Sorry." I frowned.
"I'm just messing with you bud." He laughed and ruffled my white hair. "You're a great leader and I know you'll figure it out. Just promise me that whatever happens you'll be careful."
"I promise. Thanks Dad." I smiled.
"Of course." He hugged me.
Then my phone buzzed. I checked it and it was a text from Maizy.
"Is that her?" My dad asked.
"Yeah, she said that the VKA is planning to rob the museum tonight." I told him. "They're going after some kind of scroll."
"Better warn your friends now." My Dad suggested. "Looks like you're all gonna be pretty busy tonight."
"Oh yeah good idea." I agreed and started letting everyone know through our group chat on Chirp.
"Do you need me to do some training with you before you go?" My dad said trying to get up. He still hadn't been able to move around as much as he used to since he got home from the hospital.
"No thanks Dad, you need to rest. I'll just train by myself." I said.
"Oh, ok." He sighed. "Be careful."
"I will Dad."
Lloyd's P.O.V.:
Ryder gave me one more hug and went into the training yard to train. I hated this. I hated not being able to be there when my kids needed me. I had been hurt before, but that was when my kids weren't in constant danger and there weren't a bunch of villains out there. How could I protect them if I can't even get down the stairs without having to stop and catch my breath? This just wasn't working.
Every single time I tried to walk my sides were almost instantly in pain. Most of the time it was bearable but other times it was worse. On top of that my wrist was still in a cast and the stitches on my leg would sometimes swell up a little, but I could handle that. What I couldn't handle was the migraines. They were already bad before we got kidnapped and now they were getting worse and worse. And every time I try to use my powers I would have to stop because I just couldn't hold it. And worst of all, I wouldn't be able to use the new baseball glove my dad got for me until I was recovered.
Kira was doing a lot better than I was. She still got headaches sometimes and had to walk around with a brace on her knee, but she could still get around a lot better than me.
Kira and I could've asked Ashley to heal us, but she had been pretty uneasy about about using her powers lately. Ever since we told her about Akamu's plan, she hasn't been want to use them at all, and we especially didn't want to force her to heal us. I would rather just get through it the hard way instead of taking the easy way out and scare or possibly even hurt our daughter, and I'm sure Kira would agree.
"Hey Lloyd." Kira walked into the room.
"Oh hey Kira." I smiled. "Did Ryder talk to you?"
"Actually he did. He said he's going on a mission tonight with the junior ninja. He also said you weren't doing well. Are your ribs still hurting you?"
"A little." I frowned.
"Here let me see."
I nodded and Kira set down beside me on the couch and looked me over. I hadn't told her about my migraines yet, but knowing her she probably already knew. She put her hands on my side and her barely touching it was enough to make me flinch.
"That looks like it's getting worse. I think you better stay off your feet for the next few days." Kira said as she was preparing to change my bandages for the fifth time today.
"Ugh! I wish things could just go back to normal already." I sighed.
"I know sweetie, but you need to take care of yourself." She frowned.
"I just feel so useless lately. I hate all this sitting around."
"Well do you want me to take you back to the hospital? They might know a way to speed up your recovery time."
"No, Ryder has a mission later tonight and he doesn't need to be worrying about me the whole time. It will just distract him if he knew I was back in the hospital." I said.
"Well your condition is obviously getting worse and unless you start listening to me it's not going to get any better." She tightened the bandages around my ribs. It really hurt.
"Ow!"
"Sorry." She apologized as she finished. "How's that?"
"Fine."
"Is that everything that hurts? When was the last time you had a migraine?"
"Yesterday, but my head is fine for the moment." I told her.
"What about your wrist?"
"It's fine, just help me out to the training yard so I can give Ryder some advice on fighting."
"Aren't you the one who told him he needs to make his own decision and stop coming to you with every little question?" She crossed her arms.
"He does, but this sounds like a big mission and he needs all the encouragement he can get."
"I think Ashley's got that covered." Kira giggled. "You need to take a nice long nap and get some ice on those ribs."
"Fine." I sighed. "Just tell Ryder I wish him luck."
"Of course."
She helped me off the couch and to my bedroom. She set me down on the bed and ran to the kitchen to get some ice packs and healing tea. Then when she made sure I was feeling better, she left and I went to sleep. I just hope Ryder knew what he was doing.
