The Junior Ninja Team: Part 3

Zane's P.O.V.:

Pixal and I were attempting to continue Alex's training. Due to his injury, we were trying to take it as easy as we could, but what made it more difficult was that Alex's powers had not yet returned. I was getting worried because it had been over twenty-four hours since his reboot and his powers should have returned by now.

Alex and I were sparring with each other in the training course in our yard. I didn't use my powers because he couldn't use his, but if I've learned anything, it's that villains don't always play fair. Usually he could keep up with me, but today he seemed distracted and maybe bit frustrated.

"Alex? Is something wrong?" I asked as we stopped what we were doing.

"It's just that Mom said my powers should be back by now." He looked at his hands. "Why are they still not working?"

"I thought we told you Alex." Pixal walked up to us. "It could still take a little more time."

"But what if I never get them back?" He worried. "If I don't have my powers, what do I have?"

"You have your intelligence, your strength, your compassion and everything else that makes you who you are." I told him.

"Yeah but I always use my powers when fighting and the rest of my friends have theirs." Alex frowned. "What if I can't keep up with them? I'll look like the weak link."

"It is unwise to become overly confident in one skill, for you forget what other skills you have." I said.

"Whatever." Alex frowned.

"Powers or no, you're alive and that's all that matters." I smiled and pulled him into a hug. Pixal joined us.

"Except now my friends will treat me differently." He sighed as we stopped hugging. Alex walked back inside.

"He's really upset about this, isn't he?" Pixal frowned.

"You still haven't told him yet have you?" I asked, knowing what the answer was.

"I couldn't, he's already upset as it is." She said. "If I told him that there was a fifty percent chance that his powers won't return at all it would stress him out even more."

"But if we do not tell him and they don't come back, he will know that we lied to him." I frowned. "In the long run, I think it would be better to tell him the truth."

"I know." She sighed.

"Besides, if worse comes to worse than I can always take my powers and give them to Alex." I reminded her.

"But then won't you loose yours?"

"Yes, but Alex needs them more than I do." I said. "If it comes to that, I will be more than willing to give them up."

"Give what up?" Alex came back outside.

Pixal and I looked at each other. We didn't know how much he had heard us say.

"Alex, there's something we have to tell you." I frowned.

"They're not coming back, are they?" Alex sighed, looking at his hands.

"Unfortunately that is a possibility." Pixal sighed. "When we brought you back online and disabled your powers, there was a chance that they would not return."

"How big of a chance?" Alex asked.

"Fifty percent." I said.

"Fifty percent?!" Alex screamed in frustration.

"I'm sorry we didn't tell you earlier, but we didn't want your stress levels to overload when you were injured." Pixal told him. "We were worried your systems couldn't take it in your current condition."

"Why would you take such a risk if you knew there was a villain out there?" Alex accused us.

"That was the only way we could bring you back online." Pixal defended. "If we didn't you would have never woken up."

"I needed those powers to fight with the new team and now thanks to you I'll probably never get them back." He crossed his arms.

"We do have a back up plan in place." I told him.

"Back up plan?" My son questioned. "What do you mean Father?"

"Should your powers not return, then I can give you mine instead." I explained.

"But won't you loose your powers?" He asked me. He seemed to be feeling more down than he was angry.

"Yes but I don't need them now." I smiled. "You said it yourself, you need to help your friends, and if you need your powers to do that then I would be more than willing to make sure you have them."

"So if they don't return, the only way to get them back is if you give up yours?" He frowned and I nodded. "But how will train me how to use them?"

"I don't need to, I've already taught you all you need to know." I told him. "If you decide you need them, then they're yours, but I trust you can do this with or without your powers."

"Give it a few more days before you make a decision Alex." Pixal insisted. "Your powers could still return naturally, it might just be taking a little longer than usual."

"Is it, or is that just another lie?" Alex shouted.

"Alex, don't talk to your mother like that." I yelled.

"Well it's not fair that she lied to me." He yelled.

"Alex I..."

Before Pixal could say another word, he stomped back inside and slammed the door. I looked over at Pixal, who was understandably upset.

"Pixal?" I got her attention. "Are you ok?"

"He's right." She frowned. "I did lie to him, I feel awful."

"Don't be so hard on yourself. You were only trying to protect him." I put my hand on her shoulder.

"I know but now he hates me." She frowned.

"He doesn't hate you."

"Well he has every reason to. I was trying to tell him not to see Cass anymore even though she made him happy, because of me he may never get his powers back and if not you might lose yours. I am the worst mother ever."

"What are you talking about? You're a wonderful mother." I wrapped my arms around her. "When he needed you the most, you were able to save his life, not every mother can do that. You gave up being Samurai X to raise him and made sure he was trained well. You are the best mother in the world and I can't imagine raising Alex with anyone else."

"Thanks, but that doesn't change the fact that I lied." She sighed. "I better fix this."

Alex's P.O.V.:

I was upset. I didn't want my dad to lose his powers, but I was not sure if I could beat the bad guys without mine. I did not want to be angry with my mother, but she lied to me, and that was unforgivable.

"Alex?" My mother walked in on me.

"I don't want to hear it." I yelled.

"Alex I'm sorry." My mother frowned. "I should have told you but I was worried about how you would take it."

"I know." I sighed. "It's just why did you take them away?"

"Because it was the only way I could get you to wake up. I knew you would hate me afterwards, but I'd rather have you hate me for the rest of my life than to lose you forever."

"Ok, maybe I overreacted but I'm still mad at you." I said.

"And you have every right to be." Mom sighed.

"I don't know what I do now." I frowned. "Without my powers I cannot help my friends, but if I take them from Dad I'll never forgive myself."

"Alex, I believe that you can do this with or without your powers, but the choice has to be yours and yours alone." Mom said. "Besides, it's not too late for them to come back so I would give it a few more days."

"But I don't have a few days. That villain is still out there and I can't just sit around and let him terrorize all those people."

"You're right Alex, but like I said, it's your decision."

"Is everything ok?" Dad asked as he walked inside.

"Dad?" I looked at him. "Do you really think I can do this without my powers?"

"Of course I do son." Dad smiled. "You can do anything you set your mind to, powers or not."

"Ok then, I guess I'll try, if my team will have me." I said.

"Are your sure Alex?" Dad asked.

"Positive." I nodded.

"Just be careful out there." Mom hugged me.

"I will Mom, I'll make you proud." I hugged her back.

I wasn't sure how I was going to get through this without my powers, but maybe I should take my father's advice and see what else I could bring to the team instead. It might be interesting to see what other skills I have.

Cole's P.O.V.:

After the meeting, we all agreed to train our kids so they would be ready to fight the new threat if Ninjago needed them too. Unfortunately we didn't have a big enough space to train Allison in, so I talked to Dareth and he let us use his old dojo to train her instead.

"Come on cupcake, you can do it." I said as she was trying to break a rock.

We were trying to test her abilities and how well her super strength was working. It was going pretty well but she seemed distracted.

"I can't do it!" Allison yelled and dropped the rock in frustration.

She down on the bench against the wall and took a sip of water. Seliel and I looked at each other and walked over to her.

"Allison what's the matter?" I asked her.

"I just can't do it." She frowned. "I'm not strong enough."

"Of course you are sweetheart." Seliel smiled. "You're the strongest person I know and I know you can do this."

"But what if I fail?" She frowned.

"Then you try again." I said. "The number one rule of being a ninja is that ninja never quit. And we'll be proud of you for trying either way."

"Just give it your best and don't give up." Seliel smiled.

"Thanks guys." Our daughter smiled and gave us a hug. "I feel a lot better now."

"I think someone's earned an ice cream break." I smiled. "You stay here and keep training, I'll go get you guys some."

"Ok, thanks Daddy." Allison smiled.

I left the dojo and started to head to the ice cream shop down the street. I didn't bother taking my dragon because it was only a short walk away from the dojo.

When I arrived I saw something out of the ordinary. I saw the cashier hovering in the air. I hid behind a booth and kept watching the scene. A young boy with jet black hair was seen using something that looked like wind power to levitate him. This must be the group that Yang warned us about.

Behind the boy were three more kids around his age carrying as much ice cream as they could carry. There was a girl with a long black ponytail, undoubtedly Clouse's granddaughter, a boy that matched the description Yang gave me of his grandson, and one made out of metal that looked a lot like Alex.

"Oh yeah, we hit the jackpot this time." Marcus said licking an ice cream cone.

"I still don't understand why we waste our time with this tomfoolery." Clouse's granddaughter said.

"I told you Lena, It's good practice for the bigger crimes." The wind master said.

"I'm just saying Seth." Lena told him.

"Weren't Zera and Maizy supposed to be here too?" The metal one asked.

"They have a lead on the Garmadon kids' whereabouts Axel." Marcus said. "Maizy said that she and Zera were going to get him to do something she wants."

"I have to warn Lloyd." I whispered to myself and pulled out my phone.

All of a sudden the phone was thrusted out of my hand and I found myself pinned to the ground.

"I don't think you'll be doing that." Marcus said as he had me pinned to the ground.

"What do you want with Ryder?" I demanded to know.

"None of your business." He yelled.

I pushed him off of me and did spinjitsu to change into my old ninja suit. I couldn't let them leave and get away with what ever they were up to. I also wanted to see what Allison would be up against.

I tried to fight back the best I could, without hurting them of course because they were children, but they were tougher than I thought. Marcus had me pushed up against the wall.

"Marcus please listen to me." I tried to get through to him. "This isn't what your grandfather would've wanted."

"Stop telling me your lies!" He yelled.

He suddenly had this burst of strength that I couldn't explain that caused his arms to turn orange. He threw me off the wall and onto the floor, I landed on my wrist and it hurt but I had to keep going.

I landed near my phone and tried to reach for it to call for help, but it was broken. Lena and Axel started to use their powers to try and hit me, but I ran ahead and managed to avoid their blasts.

"My turn." Seth smirked.

He used his powers to throw the cashier on the ground and flip a table on top of me. The last thought that went through my head before I passed out was that I had failed I everyone. My family, my friends, Yang, everyone. I let them all down.

Lloyd's P.O.V.:

Kira and I were in the yard with the kids as they were training. My mother had taken Wu and my dad to their apartment in the city to drop off some of the stuff they had left here over the years.

Ryder was on the old training course trying to unlock his spinjitsu and Ashley was trying to bring a wilted flower back to life with her powers. Needless to say they were both struggling with it, but that's how they learn.

I was still stressing about how I couldn't get my powers working. My dad and Wu had no idea why they disappeared and that was stressing me out even more. My uncle usually had the answer to everything, so it was weird that he didn't have the answer for this.

We were thinking that Ashley's powers might have had something to do with it from when she healed me last night, but if that were the case then Ryder wouldn't have his either. It just doesn't make sense for them to just suddenly disappear. I feel like there was something my father wasn't telling me.

"How was that Dad?" Ryder asked as he finished running the training course. I was so lost in thought I guess I wasn't paying attention.

"Oh uhh... good." I answered. "But why don't you try it again? Get some more practice."

"Fine." Ryder sighed and made his way to the beginning of the course.

As he was walking he suddenly stopped and starred at the entrance of the yard. I thought it was strange.

"What's wrong bud?" I asked him.

"N-nothing. I-I just thought I saw something." He answered quickly. He seemed stiff and maybe a little nervous.

"Ryder, are you ok?" I asked him.

"Y-yeah I just have to... um... go get something... that I left in my... bike." He stuttered.

"Son, please don't lie to me again." I looked at him. "The only thing that's going to do is get you into more trouble."

"Come on Ashley, let's go get you some lemonade." Kira said taking our daughter inside. She seemed panicked about something.

"Look Dad I'm sorry but I'm in a bad situation and I don't know how to get out of it." He frowned.

This time I believed him. He kept looking at the entrance like something or someone was waiting there for him, and I had a pretty good idea who.

I ran over to the entrance to check it out and I found myself suddenly frozen in time. I couldn't move or say anything, but I was completely aware of what was happening around me.

"The little rat told on us." Maizy yelled.

"Don't worry, he'll learn his lesson." I heard another girl say. Since she had time powers I assumed that she was a descendant of one of the time twins.

"It's not him he wants, it's his sister." Maizy told her friend. "She has what he needs."

"Got it, let's go in." Her friend said.

They walked into the training yard and they looked ready to fight. I had no way to warn them or help them. I just hope Kira would know what to do and that the kids would be alright.

It took ten minutes I think, but the time field around me finally disappeared. I fell to my knees and caught my breath, then I ran back into the training yard to find Kira and Ryder tied to a center pole. I didn't see Ashley anywhere so I assumed Kira got her somewhere safe inside, or at least I hope.

I tried to run towards them but I felt something sharp piercing my leg. I screamed and dropped to the ground. I looked down at it and I had a ninja star sticking out of my leg. It was bleeding badly and it really hurt, but I had to save my family.

"Lloyd!" Kira shouted.
"Dad!" Ryder screamed at the same time.

"Maizy, it's me your father wants, please let my family go." I begged.

"You don't know how wrong you are." She whispered in my ear.

Because I couldn't walk, it was easy for them to take me and tie me up next to Kira and Ryder. I had a feeling that this was situation that we couldn't get out of.
