Ashley's P.O.V.:
I was at the hospital with my mom so we could visit Ryder. My parents didn't know I discovered healing powers and I didn't want them to find out yet. If they did they would force me to become a ninja like Ryder. I wanted to be a nurse and help people that way. Healing isn't a very good power to have when it comes to fighting, but that doesn't mean I can't help people.
"Now Ashley, don't be too loud when we go in there ok?" My mom said as she was about to walk into Ryder's hospital room. "Your brother's been through a lot."
"I know, I won't." I said.
We walked into the room and my daddy was already there fluffing Ryder's pillow. Ryder looked like he was happy to see me, but I couldn't try to heal him until we were alone.
"Hey Ashley, hi Mom." Ryder smiled at us.
"Well you seem happier today." Mom smiled.
"Yeah, the doctors said if all goes well he might be able to go home by this weekend." Dad said.
"That's great news." Mom smiled.
"Yeah." I agreed. "Who knows, maybe it might be even sooner than that."
"We'll hope for the best." Dad said.
"I just hope Blake and his dad tracked down whoever that was at the bank robbery." Ryder said.
"Don't worry about that now bud, just rest." Dad said to him. "I'll call them for you, ok?"
"Ok thanks dad." He said.
My Dad stepped outside the room to call them. Then Ryder started coughing really bad.
"Hang on son, I'll go get you some water." My mom said.
"Mom, I'm kind of craving ice cream right now." Ryder told her.
"Mmm me too." I said.
"Well if you kids don't mind waiting I can go to the ice cream shop down the street." She suggested.
"Sounds delicious!" Ashley said.
"Ashley, you stay out of trouble ok?" Mom said pushing back my long brown hair. "I'll be right back. Your father is right outside the room if you need him."
"Ok Mommy." I said.
She kissed me on the forehead and left the room. Finally Ryder and I were alone.
"Ok, you ready?" I asked.
"Are you sure you wanna try that again?" Ryder said. "Last time you passed out."
"If I pass out so be it, it's worth it to save you." I said.
"There's no way I'm talking you out of this is there?" Ryder sighed.
"Nope." I answered and got my powers ready. "Ok hold still."
I used my powers to heal Ryder's concussion and relieved the pain from his shoulder. His leg was a bit harder to heal, but I managed to heal it. I was pretty exhausted at that point, but his ribs were still broken so I had to keep going.
"Ashley you can stop now if you want." Ryder insisted. "I'm feeling better. Honest."
"J... just let me see what I can do." I said out of breath.
I put my hands by his sides and started to heal his ribs. I wasn't able to cure them completely but Ryder felt better. I plopped down in the chair exhausted, but at least Ryder was ok now.
"Ashley are you ok?" Ryder asked.
"I'm fine, just tired." I said. "How are you feeling now?"
"I'm feeling so much better." He smiled. "Thank you Ashley."
"You're welcome." I smiled.
Then Dad came back into the room and saw me sitting there catching my breath and Ryder sitting up without being in pain. He seemed really confused.
"What's going on here?" Dad said confused. "Ryder you should be laying down, and Ashley are you ok? You look exhausted."
"It's ok Dad, I'm feeling better." Ryder told him. "Ashley was just... doing a dance f-for me to cheer me up and it tired her out."
"Yeah." I went along with the lie.
"That was nice of you Ashley." Dad smiled. "You sure you're ok sunshine?"
"Yeah Daddy, I'm ok." I told him.
"Wait Ryder, why are you sitting up?" He asked him.
"Well that's because... um... my foot itches and I was trying to... uhh... scratch it." Ryder stuttered and I facepalmed.
I forgot he always stutters when he lies. I wasn't sure if Dad was going to buy that or not. I'm just glad mom wasn't here for that, she would've known something was up right away. It's much easier to sneak a lie past Dad.
"Here let me get that." Dad said as he started scratching Ryder's foot.
'Phew, he bought it.' I thought to myself.
"Thanks Dad." Ryder said as laid back down.
"How are you feeling bud?" Dad asked him.
"A million times better." Ryder smiled and winked at me.
"I'm glad." Dad smiled.
"Oh what did Mr. Kai say?" He asked.
"They don't know who's behind it yet, but they have a few ideas." Dad said. "Don't worry, we're gonna figure out who did it."
"Thanks Dad." Ryder said.
"Your mom should be back any minute with the ice cream."
"Good, I'm starving." I said.
"Yeah, me too." Ryder agreed.
Just then Mom came into the room with our ice cream and started handing us the cones we ordered. When she handed Ryder his he made the mistake of grabbing it with his left hand. That was the same place he dislocated his shoulder, so our cover was blown.
"Ryder sweetie, grab it with your other hand, you gotta rest that shoulder." Mom said.
"It's ok Mom I'm feeling better." Ryder said.
After that I could tell my mom was growing a little suspicious, and so was my dad. I just hoped we could keep this up until it was time for us to go home.
We stayed until visiting hours were over and then we said goodbye to Ryder and told him we would back in the morning. I was happy I was able to make him feel better.
The next day...
Lloyd's P.O.V.:
I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. I picked it up and it was the hospital calling me. I was worried that something was wrong with Ryder, so I answered it.
"Hello?" I said into the phone.
"Hello, is this Lloyd Garmadon?" A woman's voice came from the other end of the phone.
"Yes." I answered.
"I'm from the Ninjago City Hospital. I'm calling on behalf of your son, Ryder Garmadon."
"Is there something wrong?" I asked.
"On the contrary." The women said. "He made a quicker recovery than we originally thought. I just wanted to let you know that he'll be discharged this afternoon and you can come by and take him home later today."
"That's great news!" I exclaimed. "Thank you so much."
"Of course." She said. "Have a great day."
"You too, thanks." I hung up.
Don't get me wrong, I was thrilled he made such a quick recovery after just two days of being in the hospital, I was just confused about how that was possible. He had so many injuries I was sure he was going to be there till at least the end of the week. It was really weird, but to be honest I didn't care. The important thing was that Ryder was feeling better.
Then Kira woke up. She must've heard me talking on the phone.
"Sorry, did I wake you?" I asked her.
"No it's fine. I needed to get up anyway." She yawned and kissed me on the cheek. "Who was calling you?"
"It was the hospital, they were calling about Ryder." I told her.
"Oh no, is he ok?" Kira frowned.
"Yeah everything's fine, they just called to tell us he could come home today." I smiled.
"Really? That's great news!" She smiled and hugged me.
"Yeah, but how?" I wondered. "I'm thrilled that Ryder's alright, but don't you think it's strange how he recovered so fast?"
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"I mean the kids were acting pretty weird yesterday after you left to go get ice cream." I told her. "Ryder was acting like he wasn't in pain anymore and Ashley was exhausted. I have a feeling there's something they aren't telling us."
"Let's worry about that later, right now let's just be glad that Ryder's ok." She smiled.
"Ok you're right." I took a deep breath.
We got Ashley up and she got so excited when we told her Ryder was coming home today. Then we went to the hospital to see Ryder.
"Hey bud." I said walking into his room, Kira and Ashley were right behind me.
"Hey guys." He set up and smiled.
"Hey good news, the doctors said that you can come home today." Kira smiled.
"Really?!" He said excitedly.
"Yeah, they said you're almost completely healed." I told him.
"I wonder how that happened so fast." Ashley shrugged. I got the feeling she had something to do with it.
Then the doctor came into the room and asked Kira and I to talk with her outside in the hallway. We were a bit confused.
"Is there a problem doctor?" I asked her.
"Ryder still complains about pain in his ribs every now and again, but other than that he's completely healed." The doctor shrugged. "I've never seen anyone recover that quickly before, especially considering the condition he was in when he arrived here."
"Well that's our son." Kira smiled. "Such a trouper."
"The strange thing is he was in such bad condition two days ago, it's almost unnatural that he healed that quickly." The doctor looked at her clipboard.
"He's a descendent of the master of healing, maybe that has something to do with it?" Kira suggested.
"It's possible, but not likely." The doctor told us. "We can't figure out why he healed so fast, but I thought you should know."
"Thank you." I said.
"He's free to go home. Just make sure he stays off his feet mostly so his ribs can heal properly, although at this rate, he'll probably be better by tomorrow." She said.
"Ok we'll makes sure he gets his rest." Kira nodded. "Thanks again."
"No problem." The doctor said.
We both went back into Ryder's room and we saw Ashley leaning over Ryder with her hands near his sides. She seemed exhausted and she was catching her breath, just like she was yesterday. Kira and I ran up to up to them.
"Ashley, get off your brother." Kira said picking her up and setting her down in a chair.
"Mom it's ok, she was just giving me a h-hug." Ryder said.
"Ashley sweetheart, are you alright?" I asked my daughter.
"Yeah I'm fine." She said out of breath.
"Ok something's up with you two." Kira crossed her arms. "You wanna tell us what's going on?"
Ryder looked at Ashley and she frowned and shook her head.
"We can't tell you." Ryder frowned.
"Ashley Rose, you better tell us what's going on right now!" I demanded.
"Fine." Ashley sighed. "I... I somehow have the power to heal people and I discovered it on that camping trip last week and I made Ryder promise not to tell. I'm sorry."
"It's alright sunshine." Kira smiled. "You get that power from your great grandmother. It's hard to master especially at your age."
"Oh." Ashley said.
"Why didn't you want us to know?" I asked.
"Well I figured if you knew I had powers, you would make me train to become a ninja, and well that's something I just don't wanna be." She frowned. "I wanna be a nurse instead and help people feel better."
"Ashley you can be anything you want to be." Kira said to her.
"Yeah." I agreed. "Whatever you decide to do, we'll always be supportive of you one hundred percent."
"Thanks guys." Ashley smiled and hugged us.
"See, I told you they would understand." Ryder said.
"Well I guess that explains why you healed so quickly." I realized.
"Yeah." Ryder smiled. "Thanks sis. I really owe you one."
"I'm happy to do it." Ashley smiled.
I went over to Ryder and helped him stand up. He stumbled a bit from being in bed that long, but after a few minutes he was alright. Then Ashley was a little dizzy from using her powers but it was nothing a quick nap wouldn't fix. I was just happy that they were both ok.
Ryder's P.O.V.:
I walked into the monastery and I was so happy to be home. Thanks to Ashley, I was feeling great. My grandma made pancakes for dinner to celebrate my return home and my parents had bought me a new phone because I lost my old one in the fire. It was a really nice surprise for me.
I went to bed early that night because couldn't wait to fall asleep in my own bed for once. I missed my bed. However being at home flooded all these memories into my head.
**********Flashback*********
I was trapped under the medal beam. Everything hurt and I was too weak to move. The place was still ablaze and it was coming down fast.
Right before I blacked out, I saw a blurry image of someone walking towards me...
******End of Flashback******
Now that I think about it, no fireman would be brave enough to go inside when the fire was that bad. In fact I shouldn't have survived at all. How did I survive that?
The question was bothering me so much I couldn't sleep, so I got up to get a glass of milk and ran into my father in the kitchen.
"Hey bud." He said. "How are you feeling?"
"My ribs still ache every now and then and my head still hurts sometimes but I'm a lot better than before." I told him.
"Do you want me to wake your sister?" He asked.
"No Dad, let her rest." I told him him. "I'm ok right now."
"Yeah you're right. So what are doing up?" He asked.
"I was thirsty." I said opening the fridge and getting the milk out.
"Oh ok." Dad said.
"So Dad, something's been bothering me." I set down across from him with my glass of milk.
"What's the matter bud?" He asked.
"Well ever since I got home, the memories of that night keep coming back to me."
"Oh?" He questioned.
"Yeah." I held my head. "It's all a bit fuzzy but with the way the bank exploded, I shouldn't have survived."
"Well I'm just happy you did." Dad smiled.
"Dad, do you remember who saved me?" I asked.
"All I know is it was a girl around your age. I was so focused on you I never saw her face."
I scratched my chin. "Well maybe Blake saw something? I could talk to him."
"Well it's pretty late and you need your rest." He said. "You can call him in the morning ok?"
"Ok Dad." I took a sip of my milk. "Goodnight."
"Good night bud." He smiled.
As I got up and tried to walk to my room, my ribs started hurting again. I stopped and held my sides in pain.
"Hang on bud, let me get you some healing tea your mom made for you earlier." My father said.
I nodded and set back down. Dad gave me a cup of tea and I took a sip. I felt a little better.
"Thanks." I told him.
"How do you feel now?" He asked.
"I feel better now, thanks Dad." I said.
"Of course bud." He smiled. "Now go get some rest. You've had a long day."
"Ok goodnight Dad."
"Night bud, I love you." He tightly hugged me and I winced in pain again. He quickly let go and frowned. "Oh sorry Ryd, I'm just so happy you're back."
"It's ok Dad." I smiled. "I'm happy to be home."
I went back to my room and started to fall asleep, when a paper airplane flew through my window. I picked it up and opened it.

Glad you're feeling better. Meet me tomorrow at the park at noon sharp.
Your lifesaver
_______________________
'Your lifesaver?' I thought to myself. 'What did they mean by that? Was this the girl who saved my life?'
I looked out my window to see if there was anybody out there, but I didn't see anyone. I tried to go back to bed but there was so many questions I was asking in my head I couldn't think straight. It was even starting to give me a headache. I would've asked Ashley to help, but she was already asleep. Plus she was pretty out of it when we got home, so I didn't want to bother her or make her wear herself out again. My headache wasn't that bad anyway compared to the pain I was in before.
I know my father told me not to, but I had to talk to Blake. I was just hoping he was still awake. I pulled out my phone and called Blake.
Blake's P.O.V.:
I couldn't sleep at all, not that that's anything new. I haven't been able to sleep since Ryder's been in the hospital. I just felt like it was my fault. Even if Ryder pulls through, would he ever want to talk to me again?
All of a sudden my phone started to ring. It was Ryder and I got excited. I went into the closet and shut the door so I wouldn't wake Trent up and I took the call.
"Hello?" I whispered into the phone.
"Hey Blake. Are you up?" Ryder asked in the phone.
"Ryder?! Is that you?" I was surprised.
"Yep. I'm all better." He said happily.
"Great, but how?" I was confused.
"It's a long story. I'll tell you about it later."
"Oh Ryder I'm so sorry. If I had
known that was gonna happen I never would've gone in there. It's all my fault." I apologized.
"Water under the bridge buddy." He said. "I just need to know if you have any information on that girl from the bank robbery."
"My dad and I are still looking into that. He said that the original masters of time might be behind it."
"But I thought they were both lost to time?"
"Me too. That's what's so weird about it." I said. "That girl definitely wasn't holding any time blades."
"And get this, a strange note flew into my window. It said it was from my lifesaver and to meet her in the park tomorrow."
"Dang that's freaky." I said.
"I know right." He agreed. "What do you think I should do."
"This person knows where you live, isn't that least bit scary?"
"Whoever She is, she saved my life. I think I should go see her." He defended.
"How do you know this isn't a trap? I don't want you to get hurt again." I frowned and coughed. I had been coughing a lot lately.
"Hey are you ok?" Ryder asked me as I finally stopped coughing.
"Yeah I'm fine, my lungs are still a little weak from the smoke, but it's healing." I said. "But seriously I don't think this is a good idea."
"I'll be careful ok." He told me. "I just wanna thank her for saving my life."
"If you say so." I sighed. "So how did you heal so fast?"
"I'll tell you about it tomorrow, I think I need to sleep now." He said. "Thanks for talking to me."
"Of course, I'm always here." I smiled. "Oh by the way, thanks for saving my life."
"Any time." Ryder replied.
"Well I should let you get some rest." I said. "I'll talk to you tomorrow."
"Ok good night." He said.
"Night." I hung up.
I'm so glad that Ryder wasn't mad at me anymore, but I still felt guilty about what I did. It was my idea to go to that robbery in the first place. I was glad Ryder was ok, but I couldn't stop blaming myself for what happened that day.
*********Flashback**********
Ryder and I were watching TV when we saw something about the bank being robbed on the news.
"Hey Ryder, want to do something fun? I tempted.
"I don't know, I think the police can handle a simple bank robbery." Ryder said. "Plus you just started your training a week ago, I don't think you're ready for something like that."
"Oh come on, you sound just like my sister." I rolled my eyes. "We can do it."
"Ugh fine." He agreed reluctantly.
We snuck out and ran to where the bank robbery was taking place.
******End of flashback******
As hard as I tried to forget, the memory still haunted me. I know that Ryder forgives me, but I couldn't forgive myself. Why did I think I could be a ninja? All I do is put people in danger.
I was worried that Ryder would get hurt again if he went to the park on his own to meet that person. So I was trying to think of a plan to go to the park and stop her before Ryder got there. I just needed a little time.
