Gone with the Wind
Seth's P.O.V.:
I was at the Library of Domu, doing some research on what happened to my uncle Marro. My mother told me that he wasn't real, but I didn't believe that. I had recently discovered that Marro was the the elemental master of wind, same as me. And from the drawings I found in my studies, he looked almost exactly like me. Mother said it was just a coincidence that we had the same powers, but it couldn't be. It all fit too well.
One time I snooped around in my grandparents house when I first got my powers. I found evidence that my mother had a twin brother. I don't know the full story but they somehow got separated at birth.
Once I got my powers, my family kicked me out. They said that I was "too weird" to be a part of their "perfect family." So I lived on my own in the streets of Ninjago City. If my family doesn't want me, fine by me. I don't care.
I discovered a book on the history of wind masters and skipped to the section on Marro. According to the book he died and came back as a ghost. Then he possessed the green ninja, Lloyd Garmadon, and summoned his friends from the cursed realm as an attempt to bring something called the preeminent to Ninjago. In the end, his plans were defeated by the elemental master of water, who took out the entire realm, destroying everyone in it.
I closed the book and I frowned. I know my uncle did some bad things, but he didn't deserve to die. I was done playing nice. Time to get revenge.
I had gotten pretty good at using my powers, but I couldn't do it alone. If I wanted to plot my revenge, I was going to need to put a team together.
I researched a few more of Ninjago's greatest villains and the ones who stood out to me the most were Yang, Harumi, Clouse, the Time Twins, Cryptor, and this legendary djinn named Nadakhan. I figured they would be perfect to exact my revenge, but there was a problem. Most if not all these villains were either dead or lost to time so I would have to have to find another way to get what I want.
As far as I could tell, none of them had any descendants except for Garmadon, Chen and Scales, but their kids were reformed now. I thought my plans would be ruined, so I gave up the search and formed my dragon to go to Yang's Haunted Temple. I had read about it in the books and the ninja once used it as an HQ. It seemed like the perfect place to lay low for a while.
I flew up to the temple and went inside. When I got there it was surprisingly clean. Not a speck of dust anywhere. I kept looking around and all the beds were made, the plants were still alive, and the dishes were cleaned. I had this strange feeling I wasn't alone.
I was looking around when I heard a voice behind me.
"What are you doing here?" They asked.
Marcus's P.O.V.:
"What are you doing here?" I asked as I noticed a boy in the living room of my grandfather's temple.
"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't know there was anyone living here." He said panicked.
"Leave now boy." I scolded.
"Wait please, I have no where else to go." He begged getting down on his knees.
"I don't care, you are of no use to me." I said.
"Don't you know what it's like to be kicked out and living on the streets all your life?" He frowned.
"I guess that explains the smell." I said. "But to answer your question, no. When my mother passed she left a note behind leading me to this temple. She said it used to belong to my grandfather, Sensei Yang."
"At least they never left you on the streets." The boy frowned. "I'm Seth, nephew to the master of wind."
"Marcus." I sighed. "I guess you can stay here only for tonight if you take a shower."
"That's fair." Seth shrugged. "Thank you."
I told him where the bathroom was and he set off to use it. I figured he would be hungry so I started to grill some vegetables I grew in the garden for dinner.
My whole life I've never left the temple, like my mother told me to. I had everything I needed here, sure it was a little lonely but that never bothered me. I liked being on my own.
Seth came back down and looked at the vegetables on the table. He sat down and started eating like mad.
"You don't get out much do you?" I asked him.
"I told you I've lived on the streets for the last year and a half." He said with his mouth full.
"You don't have any family?" I asked.
"Well I did but they kicked me once they discovered I had powers." He sighed.
"Powers?" I questioned. "What powers?"
"I have the power of wind like my uncle Marro." He explained.
"I've heard of him before." I said. "I was unaware that Marro has a nephew."
"Well most people don't know about my mother and him being twins. I don't even think my mother knew."
"I see." I said. "No one knows Yang had a daughter either."
"I know what that's like." Seth sighed. "No one knew that our family was related to Morro until I got my powers. After that they couldn't risk anyone finding out, so they threw me out on the street."
"Oh." I sighed.
I kinda felt bad for this boy, although I wasn't sure why. Maybe because we both wanted the same thing, revenge.
It was always lonely here in the temple, especially since my mother told me to never leave it. I liked to be alone, but I had gone a whole year without talking to another person, I guess it wouldn't be too bad if I let him stay here.
"Ok here's the deal." I looked him in the eyes. "Cole Brookstone is the reason my grandfather is in the departed realm, you help me get revenge on him, and I'll let you stay here."
"Ok, but we can't do it alone." He smirked.
"Fine recruit whoever you want." I said.
"Ok, I'll get a team together."
'Oh what did I get myself into?' I thought to myself.
