Zach's P.O.V.:

I was in my car heading for work. There was a construction project going on the main route I usually take, so I had to go the back way through the wooded area. All was going well until this girl jumped out in front of me. To avoid hitting her I swerved to the side and crashed into a tree. I hit my head on the steering wheel and passed out.

When I woke up I was tied to a chair. My side hurt and I was really dizzy and I couldn't see straight, but I thought I was in some kind of temple, maybe the one Maizy was always talking about. I saw Seth and Marcus standing in front of me keeping watch. I take it the other two were outside keeping watch. I'm just glad she was at Lloyd's and not anywhere near this.

"Oh, you're awake." Marcus looked at me. "Now we just have to wait until they get the message."

"Do whatever you want with me, but leave my niece out of this." I begged.

"It's not you we want, you're just here to bait the trap." Seth laughed.

"Maizy doesn't want to be part of your gang anymore." I told them.

"We know, but we want our scroll back." Marcus said.

"Scroll? What about a scroll?" I asked.

"Oh don't play dumb with us. We know she took it." Seth said.

"My niece knows better to steal, and if she did you probably stole it first." I shouted.

"Shut up old man." Seth shouted.

Marcus took a rag and tied it around my mouth. I could still breath luckily but I couldn't talk. A part of me hoped Maisy would show up to get me out of this mess, and another part of me hoped she wouldn't. However this ends, I just wanted her to be ok.

Lloyd's P.O.V.:

Maizy was at our house having a training session with Ryder and Ashley. Kira was inside taking a nap because she hasn't been feeling well lately. I was watching them train and then I get a text from Kai.

Kai: Hey Lloyd have you
heard from Zach or
Maizy today?

Lloyd: Maizy's here training
with the kids and she told
me her uncle left for work
this morning.

K: He didn't show up and
I haven't heard from him
all day.

L: that doesn't sound like
Zach. He needs that job
to keep Maizy.

K: I know, that's why
I'm worried.

L: Do you think something
happened?

K: I don't know, but
whatever is going on
it's not good.

L: I'll let Maizy know
and I'll see what we
can find out.

K: Alright thanks.
Bye.

L: Bye.

"Maizy, can I talk to you for a second." I called her over.

Maizy stopped what she was doing and came over to me. Ryder and Ashley kept training.

"What's up? Was my form off?" She asked.

"No no, this isn't about that." I told her. "Have you seen your uncle today?"

"I saw him leave work this morning but nothing else." She answered. "Why?"

"Well I just got a text from Kai and he didn't show up."

"What? That's impossible, he'd never skip work like that." Maizy started freaking out.

"They know that, he's not in any trouble."

"Do you think something happened?" She worried.

"I don't know, but we're gonna find out." I gave her a hug.

I was worried about Maizy, but I understood why she felt like this. With her mother gone and her dad in jail, her uncle is the last piece of family she has. Maizy is a tough girl, but she's only twelve. If something happened to Zach, I don't think Maizy would take it well.

Ryder noticed us and headed over to us.

"Dad? What's going on?" He asked.

All of a sudden we heard a knock on the training yard gates. I opened to find Katie panting and catching her breath.

"Katie?" Ryder ran up to her. "Are you ok? What happened?"

"I'm fine, just let me catch my breath." She took a second to breathe. "I was running through the woods on my jog and I was attacked."

"By who?" Ashley asked.

"The VKA." She frowned.

"Oh man I knew this would happen." Maizy panicked to herself.

"Katie tell us exactly what happened." Ryder asked.

"I saw the whole thing." She frowned and explained the story to us.

******Flashback******

Katie's P.O.V.:

I was on my morning jog through the forest and I was getting bored so I decided to play road runner and dodge the cars as they were coming by. When I was standing out in the road, a car saw me and to avoid hitting me he swerved and crashed into a tree.

I tried to run out to the car and check on the driver, but before I could get there someone snuck out from behind me and grabbed my wrists behind my back. I looked back to see Lena of the VKA.

"Hey! Let me go!" I demanded.

"I don't think so." Lena laughed.

I saw Seth and Marcus open the driver's side door and drag an unconscious man out of the car. Zera came around and froze me in time.

"Tell her to bring the scroll and to come alone if she wants to see him alive again." Zera warned.

They all laughed as Lena teleported them all away.

******End of flashback******

Lloyd's P.O.V.:

"After a few minutes the effect wore off and I came here to tell you guys." Katie finished.

"Katie that's really dangerous." I said. "You could have really hurt yourself or someone else jumping in front of cars like that."

"I know that now." She frowned. "I'm really sorry and I'll never do it again."

I know it wasn't my place to tell her not to that, but it sounds like she already learned her lesson. I would have to tell Griffin about that later, but we had enough on our plate at the moment.

"We're wasting time! I have to go there." Maizy yelled.

"Maizy don't do anything too rash." I told her. "That scroll is dangerous and if it's in the wrong hands, it can spell disaster for Ninjago."

"But my uncle could be hurt or worse and..."

"I know and we will get him back, but we have to be smart about this." I said.

"Ok." Maizy sighed. "Then what do we do?"

"I could get the team together and..." Ryder started.

"No, they only want me." Maizy said. "I don't want to put you guys in any more danger than I already have."

"Maizy you know they're just leading you into a trap." Ryder said.

"I know that, but I also know the VKA, and when they warn someone like that, they mean business." Maizy told us. "You have to follow their rules exactly or there will be consequences."

"Maizy, I promise we will find a way to get him back, but going in alone is a terrible idea." Ryder put his hand on her shoulder.

"Ryder's right." I agreed. "We need to have a plan."

"I have an idea." Katie said.

Katie told us her plan and we all thought it was a good one. The kids decided to go in with the three of them so they wouldn't draw too much attention. I stayed back with Ashley and looked after her so Kira could continue to rest.

"Why do I never get to go on any missions Daddy?" Ashley looked up at me.

"Well sweetie you're a little young for that one." I told her. "Plus I want you to be able to have a great childhood and not miss out on it like I had to, ok?"

"Ok." Ashley sighed and walked back into the house.

I hated doing that to Ashley, but hopefully she'd thank me one day. I just want her to be a normal kid right now.

Maizy's P.O.V.:

I arrived at the temple with the scroll in my bag. Katie's plan was to have me show up alone, and then signal when I needed them. We also had the police standing by so that when we're ready we could take them in once and for all.

I ran into Zera and Lena outside. I dumped out my bag and the scroll fell to the ground.

"Alright, you have what you want. Now where's my uncle?" I demanded.

"Oh come on, you've been here long enough to know this was a trap." Zera laughed.

"If you hurt him I swear I'll..."

"Relax, he's alive. But you won't be once we get done with you." Lena cracked her knuckles.

They started charging towards me, but before they could touch me I gave a signal and Ryder and Katie jumped out of the bushes. They started taking on the girls and forced them to call in Seth and Marcus. When it got too much for the three of us to handle, we called the police in to finish the job.

With a little help from the police, they took all of the VKA to jail, except for Axel who was who knows where. But I didn't care about any of that. As soon as I got an opportunity, I immediately ran inside and untied my uncle from the chair.

"Uncle Zach are you alright?" I asked.

"Maizy? Is that you?" He looked at me confused.

I was really worried about him. He looked so dizzy and he was holding his side like he was hurt.

"Come on, there's an ambulance right outside." I helped him stand up and walked him out.

"Maisy are you ok?" He asked me, still completely out of it.

"Don't worry about me, its you I'm worried about." I looked at him.

I walked him out to the ambulance and got him looked at by one of the paramedics. She said he had a concussion and a few broken ribs from his car wreck but he would be ok in a few weeks. I was just glad I didn't loose anyone else.

Ryder's P.O.V.:

I was helping them out with the clean up when Katie came up to me.

"Oh... hey Katie." I tried not to blush.

"Hey Ryder. I just wanted to tell you that I... really admire what you did today." Katie blushed.

"Don't look at me, it was your plan that pulled it off." I smiled.

"Yeah but you're so brave and strong and such a great leader. I just can't believe how good you are at this."

"Oh well thank you I..."

Before I could finish my sentence, Katie kissed me on the cheek. I was so in shock I couldn't move.

"Oh man, I shouldn't have done that. I'll just... uh go."

Katie started to walk away, but I came to my senses and caught up with her.

"Katie wait!" I tapped her on the shoulder and she turned around. "I... like you Katie. Like... like you like you."

"Really?" She got excited.

"Yeah, really." I smiled nervously. "So do you maybe... want to go see a movie sometime? You know... like, together?"

"Yeah, I'd like that." Katie smiled. "Well, I'll see you around greenie."

"See you." I smiled.

Well the day didn't start out that great, but with the VKA being dealt justice, Maizy and her uncle getting back to normal, and me getting a date, I'd say it all worked out pretty well. The only thing I was worried about was Axel. He was out on the loose and we had no idea what he was planning, but I wasn't going to focus on that now, I have a team to lead.
