Where Is Wu?
Lloyd's P.O.V.:
"Come on Uncle Wu, I know you're out there somewhere." I looked out the window of the monastery, waiting for my friends to arrive.
"Lloyd?" Kira walked in on me. "Are you alright?"
"What am I supposed to do? What can I do?" I frowned. "He's out there and I just feel so useless."
"Master Wu is strong, it takes a lot to take him down." Kira said. "Between you and your friends, I'm sure you'll figure out a way to save him."
"I don't know, this could be one of the toughest challenges we had ever faced." I sighed. "I'm worried that this could be a mission we don't come back from."
"Isn't there always a risk when it comes to your missions?" Kira asked.
"Yeah, but this is different. Before I was only putting my life on the line, but now I have you and Ryder. Plus I'm at a disadvantage with my arm and we have a baby on the way. I don't mind risking my own life for the greater good, but I don't want to put you all in danger, and I don't want you to raise Ryder and the baby by yourself."
"Lloyd, what are you saying?" Kira frowned.
"If I don't come back I... I want you to be happy." I frowned.
"I was gone for three years, and you never gave up on me, and there's no way I would ever give up on you." She smiled. "Ninja never quit right?"
"Right." I smiled. "Thanks."
All of a sudden my head started pounding in pain. It didn't feel like another panic attack, but it felt weird.
"What's wrong?" Kira asked as she noticed me in pain. "Are you alright?"
"I don't know, my head just started spinning out of nowhere." I told her as she helped me sit on the bed.
"Sounds like a migraine." Kira said. "You better get some rest for now."
"But my friends." I frowned.
"I'm sure they'll understand." Kira assured me. "Just please try and get some sleep. You need to be well rested if you're gonna save the day like you always do."
"Just wake me up in a couple hours, ok? I need to talk to my friends when they get here."
"I will, just get some rest ok?" She insisted.
"I'll try." I sighed. "I love you."
"I love you too, sweet dreams." She kissed me and left.
The pain in my head was still hurting, but I managed to finally fall asleep...
I was walking into nothingness.
"Lloyd!" I heard a voice calling out to me.
It sounded like Wu, but I couldn't be sure. I kept looking around and I still couldn't see anything.
"Lloyd! Young nephew!" The voice called again.
It might've been my brain playing tricks on me, but a vision of Master Wu appeared in front of me.
"Master!" I exclaimed. "How... What... Why..."
"There is no time to explain." He interrupted. "You and the others must come quickly."
"Come where?" I wondered.
"Come to... to..."
I bolted awake before the dream could finish. My migraine was pretty much over, but now I understood what was happening. Wu was somehow contacting me through the dreamworld and when I wasn't asleep, it gave me a migraine until I was. It was like a ringtone in my head, but a lot more painful. Wu would never hurt me on purpose, so that must be the only way he could get in touch with me.
Wu had disappeared only a couple months before Ryder was born, hints his middle name. I was worried that my father would find out about Kira's pregnancy since it became obvious, so he went to look for my father and he was never seen again. But that was years ago, so why would he contact me now? It had me worried that he was in trouble and the worst part was that I didn't know how to help him, or if there was anyway I could.
I heard some of my friends talking in the living room. I tried to get up from the bed, but my migraine came back the minute I stood up. So I immediately laid back down and forced myself to fall asleep, entering the dream sequence again...
"Master Wu?!" I yelled out for him. "Master Wu?"
"I am here." He appeared in front of me.
"Master, where are you?" I asked him.
"I am at the realm of madness." He explained.
"Why?" I asked.
"That was where your father turned himself into an image of darkness. I've tried my best to reverse the darkness that he has brought upon himself, so that you and your friends' offspring would be safe along with everyone else."
"So you're the reason my father remembers." I realized.
"Has he returned to his normal self yet?" He asked.
"He's getting there." I said. "I'm sure he can figure out the rest on his own if you want to come back."
"I cannot, the portal on the other side of the realm is closed." He sighed. "I'm afraid there is no other way back to Ninjago."
"There has to be another way." I insisted. "What if the team and I..."
"No." He stated firmly. "You guys all have families to care for now. I don't want you to put anyone in danger."
"Please master let me see what we can do." I said. "We can help."
"Thank you Lloyd." He said. "I must go now."
"Will I be able to talk to you again?" I frowned.
"In time young nephew, in time."
"Lloyd? Lloyd wake up!" I heard someone trying to wake me.
I opened my eyes and saw my wife. "Kira?" I set up. "What happened?"
"You were asleep and I couldn't wake you up." Kira said. "Are you feeling any better?"
"Yeah I'm fine." I stood up. "And I know where Wu is."
"What? How?" She was confused.
"I'll explain everything when my friends get here." I said.
"But they're already here." Kira said. "I came to check on you like you asked me to and it took so long to wake you up I..."
"Calm down Kira, I'm alright." I assured her.
"Ok." She sighed with relief. "Come on, your friends wanna see you."
"Ok."
I ran into the living room and found that everyone was there. They all immediately bombarded me with questions.
"What do you mean Wu is back?" Cole shouted.
"Do you think he's still alive?" Kai added.
"Is your father up to this?" Nya questioned.
"Guys, please one at a time!" I yelled over them as they finally calmed down. "I had this vision last night and I can't explain it, but it felt like Wu was trying to talk to me."
"Are you sure it wasn't dream?" Jay suggested.
"This was no dream Jay, Wu was actually there! I just talked to him." I defended.
"You talked to him?" Kai raised an eyebrow.
"I did." I stated. "He's trapped in the realm of madness and he needs our help."
"The realm of madness?" Cole questioned. "What is he doing in a place like that?"
"He was trying to change my father's past and restore his memories so he wouldn't come after our kids." I peered at Ryder playing with the other kids in the playroom. "And if you ask me, I'd say it worked."
"Are you sure this wasn't a dream? All of this seems a little too far fetched." Cole said.
"Negative Cole." Zane scanned me. "Lloyd shows no signs of lying or hysteria."
"Thank you Zane." I said.
"Ok fine, I believe you, but what are we supposed to do about it?" Cole said.
"He said that the portal back to Ninjago isn't opening up." I told them.
"Well it's a portal right?" Jay asked. "If there's a way to open it from one side, then can't it also be activated from this side too?"
"Jay may have a point." Zane said.
"That's a first." Kai mumbled under his breath.
"Hey!" Jay screamed.
"There may not be a way to spark a portal from this side, but if we could go to the realm of madness and get the portal to open we could bring Wu back with us." Zane told us.
"How do we do that?" I asked.
"It is quite simple really." Zane explained. "If Garmadon was able to open a portal before, he should be able to do it again, as would his son."
"So you're saying that I'm the only one who can open the portal?" I frowned.
"Well maybe not the only one, however I'm not sure you'll like the other option." Zane looked towards the playroom, his eyes locked on Ryder.
"Absolutely not!" Kira yelled. "We are not sending a five year old into the realm of madness!"
"No way we're sending Ryder in there." I agreed. "We have to think of something else."
"Would you please make up your mind Lloyd?" Kai snapped. "We're wasting time and Wu won't make it if we don't find him soon."
"Well then what do you suggest Kai?" I asked.
"I don't know, but we have to try something. Every minute we spend planning is another minute we could lose him, and I'm not just going to sit around and let that happen!"
"Kai, be patient!" Nya yelled at her brother. "We don't rush into anything."
"Sorry, I just feel so helpless." Kai sighed.
"Relax, we'll think of something." Skylor comforted him.
"Well maybe we wouldn't have this problem if someone hadn't destroyed the realm crystal." Kai glared at me.
"I thought it would stop the Oni." I frowned.
"Boys, knock it off!" Nya demanded. "All this fighting is getting us nowhere!"
"Nya's right, we need to stay focused." I agreed. "Let's think of way we can rescue Wu."
"I may have your solution." We heard someone walk into the room.
It was my father. Kira and I knew he was here, but the rest of them became uneasy.
"What is he doing here?!" Kai exclaimed.
"Guys calm down, he can help." I assured them.
"Are you sure we can trust him?" Seliel whispered to Cole.
"He saved my son's life, I have to." I said.
"Wu is my brother. If our mission is to save him, then I shall assist." My father assured.
"Ok, but if he tries anything..." Kai threatened.
"Kai, he's the only one that knows anything about this, if we wanna find Wu, he's our best bet." I told him.
"Fine by me." Cole looked at my father. "What do you suggest?"
"I suggest a couple of you head into the realm of madness with me." He suggested. "Once we're on the mountain I can make a portal large enough to send us and my brother through."
"How do we know you won't just abandon us when we open the portal?" Kai scolded my dad.
"You don't." Dad snarked.
"He's kidding." I assured them, although I wish I knew that I was telling the truth.
"Ok, then who should go?" Nya asked.
"I don't want to risk anything happening to the baby." I looked at Kira's stomach. "It's best for Kira to stay here."
"Good idea." Kira nodded.
"Then I better stay here too." Skylor added.
"That's probably for the best." Kai agreed.
"Cole knows more about this ninja stuff then I do, so he would probably fair better than me." Seliel said.
"I'm sure you would do great, but I want you to be safe, so I should probably go anyway." Cole said.
"So me and Cole are going." I said. "Anyone else?"
"Lloyd I don't think that's a very good idea." Kira frowned.
"Honey I have to go. My arm is almost fully healed by now, and I need to keep an eye on my father." I held her hands. "Plus Wu talked to me in my dreams, he wants me to go. And if my father can't do it I'm the only one who can open the portal."
"Alright." Kira sighed. "Just be careful ok? I don't wanna lose you."
"I promise." I smiled.
"I'll go with you guys." Nya offered. Then she turned to Jay. "Jay you can handle the kids until then right?"
"Of course, just be careful ok?" Jay frowned.
"Of course I will." Nya hugged him.
"Ok then it's settled." I stated. "Me, Kai, Nya, Cole, Zane and Pixal will go with my father after Master Wu."
"Yes, but how are you getting there?" Seliel asked.
"We'll need a lot of travelers tea to get all of you to the realm of madness." My father said. "And I'll need an even bigger portal to bring you all back plus my brother."
"Will you be able to do it?" I asked.
"With your help I might." He said to me.
"But what if you can't?" Kira worried.
"Then maybe we can open up a portal from this side of Ninjago?" Jay suggested.
"There is an elixir that allows portals to open." Seliel said. "Maybe if we make it, we can get a portal that you guys can walk through in case Garmadon and Lloyd can't open the portal."
"How do you know that?" Cole asked.
"My dad does potion making as a hobby." Seliel explained. "My mother did it for a living and he learned it from her."
"Perhaps I should stay behind to assist with the portal." Zane suggested.
"Good enough for me." Kai said.
"Alright everyone." I stood up. "Let's go get Wu back."
