Seliel's P.O.V.: (Yep first time)
After a long trip we finally arrived in Nom. Cole parked the car and we helped Allison out of the car, who was just now waking up.
"Come on Cupcake wake up." Cole said as he gently shook her awake.
"Are we there yet?" She asked rubbing her eyes.
"Yep, here we are." I smiled.
Allison wasn't fully awake yet so I picked her up and carried her into my father's house where he said we all could stay while we were up there.
We walked into the house and we were greeted by my dad, and someone else I didn't recognize. It looked like an older women with white hair and black eyes. It was only a few minutes until I recognized her.
"Papa!" Allison screamed as she saw my father and I put her down.
"There's my little granddaughter!" My dad exclaimed as Allison ran into his arms. "Look how big you've gotten."
"Wait, Donna?" I recognized the women. "Is that you?"
"It's been a long time Seliel." She winked at me and we hugged. I was so excited to see her.
"Uh does someone wanna fill me in here?" Cole asked the room.
"Oh sorry. Donna is an old friend of mine." My dad explained.
"Not to mention the greatest babysitter ever!" I exclaimed as I hugged Donna. "She taught me everything I know about fighting techniques and helped me build my armor."
"Hello." Allison said to Donna.
"Hi." She smiled at our daughter. "You must be Allison."
"Yep that's right." She said. "Who are you?"
"Allison dear, she was my old babysitter when I was a kid." I explained.
"Oh. Well it's nice to meet you." Allison said to her.
"It's nice to meet you too." Donna smiled.
"Well I think I'll let you guys catch up while I take Allison to bed." Cole said as he noticed how tired Allison was.
"Ok, good night All-star. I love you." I kissed our daughter good night.
"I love you too. Good night Mommy." She yawned.
After Cole took our daughter to bed, I was in the living room catching up with my dad and Donna. It was unusual to see Donna here, I hadn't seen her in years.
"So what brings you back to Nom?" I asked Donna.
"Well I finished the work I needed to do in Edon and Metalonia, so I decided to come back here and help your dad out while you were away." She explained.
"Oh I'm really sorry I wasn't there to help you Dad." I frowned. Overall I'm a pretty brave person, but if there's one thing I'm afraid of, it's disappointing my father.
"It's ok sweetheart, I'm sorry I've been keeping you from your husband and daughter." My father said. "That's why I think I have a solution that works best for everyone."
"What do you mean by solution?" I asked.
"What we mean is..." My dad paused. "Donna and I are getting married."
My jaw dropped. I was surprised by this. I mean I knew Donna and my father were best friends when they were little, and they even dated a while before my dad met my Mom. After she passed I thought my Dad was going to be lonely forever, and Mom would want him to be happy. Plus Donna was such an awesome lady and I wouldn't mind if she became my new mom.
"Now look we understand if you're not comfortable with..."
"Are you kidding? That's great!" I cut Donna off and pulled them both into a hug. "I'm so happy for you guys!"
"We're glad to hear that sweetie." My dad smiled.
"Wait, how exactly does this solve my situation?" I wondered.
"Well, since your always so busy with everything in Nom, we were thinking that I would help your father with your duties here so you would get to spend more time with your family." Donna explained.
"That sounds great, but I can't ask you to do that." I frowned. "It's a lot of work and I don't want you to go through all that trouble for me."
"Really it's not a problem." Donna assured me. "I'm happy to do it."
"And this way you can stay in Ninjago with Cole and Allison." My dad added.
"I know it's not up to me, but if this is the only reason you're getting married then..."
"No dear it's not like that at all." My father interrupted me. "She came back to help me while you were away and we both realized that we still had feelings for each other."
"Just so we're clear, you're not getting married just because of me and you two actually love each other?" I wanted to be sure.
"Of course we are." My father smiled at Donna and she smiled back putting her arm around him.
It had been ages since I saw a smile that big on my father's face. The only other time I've seen that is in my first baby picture taken right after I was born where my mother was holding me. It made me so glad to see him so happy again.
"If you're not ok it just say the word." Donna looked at me.
"Of course I'm more than ok with this." I smiled. "You two get to get to spend the rest of your lives together and I get to be with my family. Everybody wins! Plus I get one awesome new mom!"
I ran up to Donna and gave her a hug. I was so happy that she was going to be my mom. I will always love my birth mom, but to be honest I was only three when she passed away so I don't remember her at all, but she would want my father to be happy. In fact I had been trying to get him to start dating again for a while now so the fact that he was marrying his best friend from childhood was really exciting.
"Well you better go get your rest." My dad insisted. "I have a lot of activities planned for tomorrow."
"Honey, she's on vacation. Don't make her work while her family is here." Donna said.
"I wasn't planning to." My father told her. "I meant that we were going to take you, Cole and Allison out for a fun day, so you can catch up with Donna and she can get to know them better."
"Oh that sounds great dad." I said. "Thanks."
I said good night to my father and Donna and then I went to lay down with Cole in my old bedroom. I thought that he would be tired from driving the whole way here, but he was still awake.
"Hey." I whispered.
"Hey." He replied. "Are you ok?"
"Yeah I'm great." I smiled. "The best thing just happened!"
"Really? What happened?"
"Donna and my dad are getting married!"
"That's great for them." Cole said.
"Oh but here's the best part. Donna is going to take over my duties here so I get to stay with you and Allison all the time."
"Wait you're really gonna stay?!" Cole exclaimed.
"I don't know." I sighed.
"Why not?" He frowned. "It sounds to me like your dad and Donna have everything under control."
"I don't know. I just want to make sure she's up for it you know?"
"Exactly how well do you know her?" Cole asked.
"I've known Donna a long time, and I trust her. She's always been like a mom to me and now she is gonna be my mom. Allison is finally gonna have a grandma."
"Does she have any kids of her own?" Cole asked.
"No, she can't have children, but she loves kids." I sighed. "That's why she always treated me like her own daughter, and I guess now I am going to be her new daughter."
"I bet that's exciting for you." Cole said.
"It is. I'm really happy for them."
"Me too." He smiled and kissed me on the cheek. "Good night, I love you."
"I love you too. Good night."
Cole went right to sleep, but I couldn't sleep. I couldn't stop thinking about how excited I was about the day my father had planned. I couldn't wait to catch up with Donna.
That morning, I bolted up from my bed and got dressed. Then I ran to the kitchen where I found Donna making eggs and bacon.
"Good morning Seliel." She smiled.
"Morning Donna." I said sitting down at the table.
"You were always one to get up early." She smiled.
"You know me, no use sleeping the day away." I said. "Is my father up yet?"
"He'll be up in a minute."
"Ok, I'll go wake up Cole and Allison."
I went back into the bedroom and Cole was already awake. I guess he smelled the bacon Donna was cooking. That didn't surprise me, I remember his wedding vows were "You're the only thing I like more than cake." He was so nervous that day.
"Good morning honey cake." He said.
"Morning rocky." I said as I kissed him on the cheek. "Did you get Allison up yet?"
"I was just about to. You wanna wake her up together while we can."
I smiled and nodded. He finished getting dressed and then he followed me into the guest room where Allison was sleeping.
"Allison, time to get up." I said slowly shaking her awake.
"YAY!" She bolted up out of bed.
"Well somebody's excited." Cole ruffled our daughter's hair.
"I smell bacon." She sniffed the air.
"Miss. Donna made some." I said. "Let's get you dressed and then you can have some ok?"
"Ok Mommy." Allison said.
We got her dressed and ready to start the day. Then we took her into the kitchen where Donna and my father was.
"Good morning guys." My father said.
"Oh morning Dad." I said.
"Morning Grandpa." Allison said.
"Morning sweetheart." He said to my daughter.
"Allison dear, would you like some breakfast?" Donna asked her.
"Yes please." She replied.
Donna put some bacon and eggs on a plate and handed it to Allison. She had always been the best cook. My daughter thanked her and started eating. She inherited her father's big appetite.
"Mmm!" She smiled. "This is really good."
"Thank you dear." Donna smiled at the compliment.
"So what's on the agenda today?" I asked my dad.
"Well I thought Allison would like a tour of the village and then we can have lunch at that cafe you like." He answered.
"Sounds great." I agreed.
So with that we all finished our and took Allison around the village and she seemed to be having a pretty good time. Then we stopped for lunch and had a great meal and then we visited Cole's uncle and cousin in Edon. Overall it turned out to be a pretty fun day, and more importantly she and Donna were getting along really well. I couldn't wait for her to be Allison's new grandmother.
When we got back home, we were ready to tell Allison that my father and Donna were getting married. I was sitting in the living room with her and Cole.
"Hey cupcake, did you have fun today?" Cole asked.
"Yeah Daddy." She smiled.
"I'm glad sweetheart." I said. "So do you like Miss Donna?"
"Oh yeah she's awesome!" Allison exclaimed.
"Well I'm glad you think so because I have some good news." I smiled and looked at her. "Allison, Donna and Grandpa are getting married!"
"And that means she's gonna be your new grandma." Cole added.
"YAY! YAY! YAY!" Our daughter started jumping up and down. I think that meant she was ok with it, which made me happy.
"Wait sweetie, there's one more thing." I said.
"More?" Her eyes lit up.
"Because your grandfather has Donna to help him now, that means that I would get to stay with you and Dad." I told her.
"Really?" She and Cole said in unison as they got all happy.
"Yep, I'm staying, for good this time." I smiled.
Allison jumped into my lap and Cole put his arm around me. I hugged them both. We were so happy that we actually got to be a family again, and this time I was gonna get to be there for them.
The moment was over when Cole's phone dinged with a text. He looked at it and his eyes lit up. I knew something wasn't right. Donna walked in at just the right moment and saw how upset Cole was.
"Hey Allison," I whispered in her ear. "Why don't you tell Miss Donna how excited you are."
"Can I call her Grandma Donna?" She asked.
"I think she'd really like that." I smiled.
She ran off into Donna's arms and she took her into the other room. I looked at Cole and he looked too shocked to say anything. He showed me the text on his phone and it was from Lloyd. It said 'Monastery ASAP! It's about Wu.'
The look of worry on Cole's face frightened me. I had only met Master Wu once a long time ago but he was like a second father to Cole and the other ninja. I wanted to do what I could to help.
"What do you think that means?" I asked Cole.
"I have no idea, but it sounds important." Cole said, a little panicked. "We need to get back."
"Ok." I agreed.
Then I told everyone that we had to leave in a hurry for emergency ninja business. I said our goodbyes and quickly packed up all our stuff and soon Cole Allison and I were on our way back to the monastery of spinjitsu. I offered to drive because Cole was so nervous about Lloyd's text. I just hoped everything was alright.
