A 28 year old, white haired man is at home with his son Ryder, putting him to bed with a story.

"...and that's when I turned into a golden dragon and defeated the Overlord once and for all. From then on Ninjago was safe from evil once again, or at least for a little while anyway." Lloyd said as he tucked the white haired boy into bed.

"Wow! You really saved all of Ninjago Daddy?" Ryder asked in amazement.

"Yes I did, multiple times actually." Lloyd answered gloating a little bit.

"So grandpa Garmy was inside that giant thing?" Said Ryder excitedly. He was always asking so many questions about his grandfather that his dad never allowed him to meet.

"Yes he was. That was when the best side of your grandfather came out. The great devourer turned him into what he is today, but I think it's best to remember him for who was in the past. A loving, caring father." Lloyd said as the smile slightly faded on his face.

"Will he ever be good again?" Ryder questioned.

"I wish I knew the answer to that son." Said Lloyd.

"Daddy, will Mommy ever come home?" Ryder said making his cute little eyes.

Lloyd sighed and answered "I wish I knew the answer to that too. But what's important is that we don't lose hope. Ok?"

"Ok." Ryder agreed.

"Alright time for you to get some sleep." Lloyd said tucking his son under the covers.

"Awe but I wanna hear another story about how you saved Ninjago." He begged.

"Maybe tomorrow ok? Daddy's tired." Lloyd said. He was often tired late at night. Taking care of a five year old all alone was often tiring, even with his mother living them.

"Ok. Good night Daddy." Ryder said as he let out a big yawn.

"Good night son." Said Lloyd kissing his son on his forehead before leaving the room.

Once he was in the hallway, Lloyd runs into his mom who was living with them. He looks at his mom with a sad look on his face.

"What's wrong Lloyd?" The grey haired women had asked her son.

"I don't know. I guess I just miss Kira." Lloyd answered looking down at his feet.

Kira was Ryder's mother that Lloyd had met on an expedition of his own a few years before they had Ryder. She was nice, sweet, a great fighter and a wonderful mother. She had been out on an adventure of her own for 3 years now and hadn't returned. Lloyd wanted her to go out and look for her more than anything, but he didn't want to away from his son that long for what might be a lost cause.

"Looks like someone needs to take his own advice." Misako said as she lifted Lloyd's chin up.

"Hm?" He questioned.

"What you told Ryder. About not giving up hope." Misako added.

"Oh that? I just told him that to calm him down." Lloyd said frowning.

"Don't you believe that you'll find her again?" Misako asked.

"I'm not saying that I want to give up, but it's been years since she disappeared. If it wasn't for you moving in to help me take care of Ryder, I'd be raising him all by myself." Lloyd said sounding on edge.

"A part of you doesn't want to find her, do you?" Misako said.

"No no, I do want to find her, I'm just worried about what I might find." Lloyd said, sounding worried.

"Alright son, go get some rest. You have that meeting with your friends tomorrow." Misako reminded him, petting Lloyd's long white hair.

As soon as Misako said this, Lloyd's frown quickly turned into a smile.

"Oh yeah that's right. It's been so long since I've seen them. I can't wait to see them again." Lloyd said sounding excited all of a sudden.

"There's that smile I remember. You're dad would be proud of what a great father you are." Misako smiled.

"Maybe back then, but right now I wanna focus on meeting with my friends tomorrow." Lloyd said, still excited.

"Alright. Get some rest. Good night son." Said Misako kissing her son on his forehead.

"Good night Mom." Lloyd said back.

Lloyd goes into his bedroom and Misako goes into hers. They both go to sleep excited for tomorrow.
