Kai's POV:

It had been two days now since we found out about the new baby and we were planning on telling the kids today. The only others that knew so far were of course Skylor, me and Nya, who may or may not have told Jay too but I didn't know.

Well at least we were planning on telling the kids today, but things didn't go as planned. Amber woke up with a bad migraine from getting her powers and Skylor had morning sickness. She didn't want me to see her when she was sick, but I told her I was here if she needed me.

I went into Amber's room to see how she was doing. A migraine for a six year old was never a good thing.

"How are you feeling Amber?" I asked her.

"My head still hurts." She said groaning.

"It's ok sweetheart, I'll go get you an ice pack."

I quickly ran into the kitchen and grabbed an ice pack out of the freezer and ran back to her room.

"Here you go sweetie, this will help." I said as I put the ice pack on her head.

"Thanks Daddy, these powers better be worth it." She complained.

"They will be. Don't worry." I assured her.

Then I heard crying coming from Blake's room. This wasn't his normal crying or hungry crying either, this was his 'Mr. Stark I don't feel so good' crying. [A/N: ENDGAME HYPE!!!😄]

"Honey, can you check on Blake please?" I heard Skylor yell from the bathroom.

"Don't worry babe, I'm on it." I yelled back.

"Daddy not so loud!" My daughter screamed as she held her head.

"Oops." I whispered. "Sorry sweetheart. I've gotta cheek on your brother and I'll be right back."

I then ran to my son's room. He was still crying when I got there and he was still laying down. I picked him up in my arms and he was still crying. Something wasn't right. I felt his forehead and it was really hot. Blake had gotten sick before, but it wasn't this bad.

I honestly wasn't sure what to do. I couldn't take Blake to the doctor and leave Skylor and Amber here alone. I decided to use the baby thermometer to take his temperature and it said 451°.

That didn't make sense. So I took his temperature again and it said the same thing. I was shocked. Blake had what I referred to as a 'fire fever.' The only ones who ran fevers like that were me and my dad. Then I realized: Blake was getting my fire powers! How though? He was only 3! Most kids don't show signs of elemental powers until age five or six.

"It's ok buddy, let Dada make you a nice cold bath ok?" I said to him, trying to calm him down.

He usually wasn't that excited about bath time, but he looked up and me and nodded then he leaned back into me. He was never much of a talker when he was sick.

I took Blake with me into the other bathroom that Skylor wasn't in, and started to run the bath water and made sure it was cold. Then I got Blake ready and then put him the bath. He didn't like the cold water very much, but it was the only way to help his fever go down.

Once I was finished with his bath, I put his pajamas back on him and then put him down for a nap. Then I took his temperature again and his fever had gone down quite a bit. I was so relieved and Blake was getting better.

I went in my room to tell Skylor about Blake's fever, but she was asleep on the bed. I knew better then to wake her up when she wasn't sick and/or pregnant, so I had NO intention of waking her up now.

Then I went to check on Amber and she too was asleep. I took the opportunity and set down on the couch and enjoyed the peaceful silence while it lasted. Then I got bored so I decided to text Nya:

Kai: Hey sis.👋

Nya: Hi. How's it going?

K: Things are hectic right now.😓

N: How so? Are you ok?

K: I'm fine, it's just been a crazy
day. 😩 Skylor's got morning sickness, Amber's got a migraine,
and Blake has a fire fever.

N: A fire fever?! Little Blake?!
Isn't he like 3? 🤨

K: Yeah my thoughts exactly.
I guess his powers are coming
in really early. I gave him a
cold bath and his fever went
down a lot. He's napping right
now, they all are actually. So
I'm enjoying the moment of
peace and quiet while it lasts.

N: That's too bad, I hope
things get better soon. 👍

K: Yeah me too. Thanks.
How is Jay doing?

N: He's doing a lot better.
Did you hear what Lloyd
found?

K: Please tell me it's not
any more villains. I'm
getting too old for this. 😓

N: No, he found Kira!

K: You're kidding?! How? 😱

N: Well remember that villain
Jay, Cole and I took care of?

K: Yeah? 🤨

N: He was responsible for
her disappearance! Lloyd
took Ryder into Stixx and
she ran into them.

K: I still don't understand how
any of that makes since, but
I'm glad he found her.

N: Yeah me too. Well I gotta go,
we're all getting ready to go out
to breakfast with Cole and Allison.
Lloyd, Ryder and Kira are going
too so we can catch up a bit. I'd
invite you guys to come along but
it sounds like you've got your
hands full.

K: Yeah. Well have fun.
Tell everyone I said hi. 🙂

N: Of course. Thanks. Oh
and you might wanna keep
an eye on Blake so he doesn't
burn the house down.

K: I know how it works. I am
the fire ninja remember?
Besides, even if he is getting
my powers, he won't be able
to use them for a while.

N: I know, but I won't be there to
put out the fires out this time. 😅

K: Calm down, I can handle it.

N: Ok suuure...🙄

K: Hey! 😠

N: Calm down hot head, You
know I'm just messing with
you.

K: Whatever, I gotta go
check on the kids and
Skylor.

N: I hope everyone gets
better soon. And good
luck with the baby. 🙂

K: Thanks. Later sis.

N: Bye bro. 😉

As soon I put away my phone, my moment of peace and quiet was over. I heard someone in the kitchen so I went in there to see who it was. It was Skylor.

"How are you feeling babe?" I asked her.

"Eh I'll be fine. What was Blake crying about earlier?" She asked me.

"Babe, Don't freak out, but I think he has a little fire fever."

"A fire fever? For a three year old?" She panicked. "We should take him to the doctor."

"I'm a master of fire myself remember? I'm handling it." I assured her. "I gave him a cold bath and his fever went down a lot, but if it gets any worse I'll take him tomorrow."

"Ok. What about Amber? Is her migraine any better?"

"She's taking a nap right now. Don't worry, I'm taking care of everything."

"And you're sure you don't need my help?"

"Trust me babe, I have got this all under control."

"Oh so you're playing nurse today?" She teased.

"I prefer the term 'caretaker' and in a way yes." I laughed and pulled out a chair for her. "So you can just sit and relax because today I am taking care of you and the kids."

"Then can you get me something to eat please Mr. Caretaker." She teased me sitting down.

"Coming right up babe."

I got her a box of cookies from the cabinet and she started eating.

"So any ideas for a name?" I asked her.

"A name? We don't even know if it's a boy or girl yet." She said stuffing the cookies in her mouth.

"Well do we want to know this time or do we want to be surprised?"

"We'll worry about that later." She said.

"Ok. So I just talked with Nya and she told me that Lloyd found Kira."

"Really? That's great! Where has she been all this time?"

"She said she turned up around the village of Stixx."

"Well I'm glad he found her." Skylor smiled. "So does your sister know?"

"Know what?" I asked hoping she didn't know I had told Nya.

"About the baby?"

"You asked me not to tell anyone until we told the kids." I said trying to cover up the fact that I told her.

"Yeah, but she's family." She pointed to her stomach. "This is her little niece or nephew after all."

"So it's ok if I tell her?" I asked smiling.

"You already told her, didn't you?"

"Yeah, she came yesterday to pick up the twins and I couldn't hold it in. I'm really sorry babe."

"It's ok, she was gonna find out eventually. Plus if you told anybody I'm glad it was her."

"So you're not mad?" I Asked surprised.

"Of course not." She smiled to my delight. "Does anyone else know?"

"I don't know, she might have. I didn't ask. I told her to keep it a secret but..."

"What secret?" Amber walked into the kitchen.

Me and Skylor looked at each other. We didn't know how much she had heard us say.

"Amber Lynn, what are you doing out of bed?" Skylor asked.

"It's ok, I'm feeling better." She said.

"Ok just keep it down so you don't wake up your brother. He isn't feeling too well." I told her.

"Ok Daddy." She said sitting at the table with us. "So what's this about a secret?"

Ok so maybe she didn't know about the baby yet. But Amber was a lot like her mother, she always knew when something was up.

"I think I'm going to check on Blake." I told them as I left the kitchen.

Then I peaked into Blake's room and he was still sleeping and there wasn't any sign of anything being on fire. I took that as good thing.

So I went back into the kitchen and set back down at the table. Skylor looked me in the eyes and then she looked at Amber. I figured that meant Amber knew.

"What are we talking about?" I asked trying not to be suspicious.

"You're having another baby?" Amber looked at me.

Well the secret was out, there was no turning back now. Me and Skylor looked at each other then back at Amber and we nodded. She was not happy about it.

"Great, another little sibling to take attention away from me." She complained.

"Hey, Amber we love all of you just the same, no matter how many kids we have." Skylor told her. Then she looked at me. "And just so we're clear, this is the last one!"

"What are you looking at me for?" I asked.

"What are you looking at me for?" Skylor snarked.

"Never mind." I looked back at Amber. "Look, the point is, we love all of you equally and we always will. Even when your new little brother or sister comes."

"Then why do you like Blake more than me Daddy?"

When Amber asked me that I realized something. I do love both my kids equally, but as of late I had been spending a lot of time with Blake. It occurred to me that Amber might be feeling left out, and with the new baby on the way, the time I got to spend with my kids was going to get even more split up.

"Amber, that's ridiculous." I took her hands. "I know I've been spending a lot of time with your brother lately, but he's littler than you and requires a lot of attention. I'm sorry you feel left out but I do not like one kid better than another. Whether it's you, your brother or the new baby we love you all the same."

"Ok." She sighed, and then smiled. "So can I get a sister this time Mommy?"

"I'm afraid it doesn't work that way sweetie." Skylor laughed. "But who knows, maybe you will get a sister this time."

"Ok, but whether it's a brother or a sister, I'll love him or her just the same. Just like Daddy." Amber smiled.

That made me and Skylor smile. I was so proud of my daughter. Then I heard Blake wake up and he started crying.

"Sorry sweetheart, I have to..."

"Go Daddy." She smiled. "Blake needs you."

"I love you sweetheart." I kissed her cheek and headed for Blake's room.

Once I got there I picked him up and his fever hadn't gotten any worse, but it hadn't gotten any better either. I was getting worried. I had to take Blake to the doctor, but I couldn't leave Skylor and Amber here.

Usually I would call my sister or Jay to babysit but they were busy and Cole was with them. I didn't want to bother Lloyd since he just got Kira back. Plus besides Nya, no one knew about the baby yet. I could call Zane and Pixal but they had Alex now.

Given I had no other choice, I went back into the kitchen with Blake to ask Skylor what to do.

"Is everything ok?" Skylor asked me.

"Well he hasn't gotten any worse, but I think I need to take him to the doctor." I told her.

"If it's getting that bad you should probably take him." Skylor said.

"I would but I can't leave you and Amber all alone." I told them.

"Just go Daddy, we'll be fine." Said Amber.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

"Positive. We'll be fine for a couple hours." Skylor assured. "Just make sure Blake's ok."

"Ok but if you need anything make sure to call ok?" I said.

"Of course." Skylor said. "Oh yeah, can you pick up some food on the way home?"

"Sure." I laughed. "Amber take care of your mom ok?"

"Ok." Amber said.

We said our goodbyes and I formed my dragon and I quickly flew Blake to Ninjago City Hospital. I didn't know if they knew anything about fire fevers, but it was worth a shot.

I checked him in and they said that his fire fever had gone away and it was just a normal fever now. I was relieved, but at the same time confused. I asked them why he had a fire fever to begin with and they said lots of elemental masters show signs before their powers start to come in.

At first I thought that made sense, but then again Amber was just now starting to get her powers. Maybe it was only certain elements or something, but the important thing was that my son was going to be ok. They gave me some medicine for him to take and then we left. I picked up some burgers for everyone and went back home.

When I got home we all set down and began to eat. I had given Blake the medicine and he was feeling better.

"How are you feeling buddy?" I asked my son.

"I feel better Dada." Blake answered. Meaning he was feeling better, that was the first thing he said all day.

"I'm really glad." I said.

I looked at Skylor and Amber and they smiled and nodded. I knew what that meant.

"Hey Blake? We have a surprise for you." I said.

"Surprise?" He said confused.

"You're gonna be a big brother!" I smiled.

"Big brother?" He sounded confused.

"It means you're gonna have a new little brother or sister soon." Skylor said.

"Yay! I gonna be big brother!" He said.

We all had a good laugh and Blake was so happy. My family may getting bigger, but I still had enough love to go around.
