Lily and Jax
28 year old Nya and 29 year old Jay are at home with their 4 year old twins. The oldest twin Lily was exactly 8 minutes older than her brother Jax and she never let him forget it. She was very independent and didn't like to accept help from anyone, especially her brother.
Jax on the other hand wanted to be exactly like his father Jay. He loved video games and made jokes when he got nervous. When the twins put their differences aside, which was often, they would usually find a place to go on adventures, like their mother and father did in the stories they told them.
"Hey Lily, you want to go on a little adventure?" Jax asked her twin sister.
"Sure Jax, where are we going this time?" Lily said giving her brother an adventurous smile.
"Somewhere new." Jax said smiling.
The twins snuck passed the living room where their father was sleeping. He hadn't been feeling well the passed few days and Nya had gone out to get him some medicine, making it the perfect time for the kids to sneak out. The twins continued heading to the front door of their home and opened it up. They sneakily headed out the door and walked away from their house.
Jax had led Lily to a little place he had found the last time he and her snuck out of the house. Although he had just seen it before his mom and dad dragged them back home, so they didn't get to explore it. It was a small area down by the river with trees and and flowers growing around.
"Nice. Great find bro." The brown haired girl said taking off her shoes and putting her feet in the river. Lily always had a thing for water.
"Thanks sis." Jax said starting to climb up a tree. The black haired boy enjoyed climbing trees.
Meanwhile, back home, Nya was getting home from the pharmacy with the medicine to help Jay. She walked up to the house to see the door wide open. She ran inside and looked all over the house for the kids and but she couldn't find them. Then she walked into the living room and sees Jay sleeping on the couch.
"JAY!" She shouted angrily.
"Ahhh!" Jay screamed as he sprouted up on the couch. "Oh hey sweetie." He said smiling at his wife, not realizing how mad she was.
Nya just stood there and crossed her arms. Jay realized he had messed up.
"What is it?" Jay asked, his throat still scratchy.
"The twins wondered off again." Nya told him. "I'm going to find them."
"Oh man I'm so sorry honey. I must've fallen a-asleep." Jay said as he felt a sneeze coming on. "Achoo!"
"Awe Jay, it's not your fault that you're sick." Nya told him.
"Here I'll help you look for them." Jay said getting off the couch.
"Are you sure honey? You're still really sick."
"They're my kids too. I need to help." Jay insisted right before he had a huge coughing fit.
"I'll take my dragon, go get the kids and come back. You stay here and get some rest ok?" Nya insisted patting him on the back.
"I'm so sorry Nya. I love you." Jay said smiling as he sat back on the couch.
"I love you too. I'll bring them back." Nya said.
She blew her husband a kiss, because she didn't want to get sick herself, and went outside. There she formed her dragon and she set out flying around looking for her kids.
Meanwhile down by the river, the kids were still sitting and talking to each other.
"Jax, it's getting dark. Shouldn't we be heading back now?" Lily asked her brother who was now sitting on the top of the tree.
"Relax sis, I know exactly where we..." Jax started to say, but then he saw his mom heading home towards them on her dragon. It scared him and he fell out of the tree and landed on the ground.
"Jax!" Lily said running up to her brother.
Nya flew over and jumped off her dragon as it disappeared. She immediately ran over to check on her son.
"Jaxon! Are you ok? Anything broken?" Nya asked worriedly as she helped him up and checked his arms and legs for injuries and picked leaves out of his hair.
"I'm fine, I'm fine." Jax assured her. This wasn't the first time he'd fallen out of a tree.
Nya gave Jax a hug, relieved he was ok, but Jax could tell she was mad as her facial expression changed from worried, to relieved, to full on angry. She looked at both her kids.
"JAXON FRITZ WALKER! LILIAN MAYA WALKER! What in the First Spinjitsu Master's name were you thinking sneaking out like that?!" Nya scolded.
"Well we just wanted to..." Jax started to say.
"I don't wanna hear it!" Nya interrupted. "You knew your father was sick and all I asked you two to do was not leave the house for what was less than an hour and you couldn't even do that!"
"We're sorry Mommy" the kids said in unison both looking at there feet. They knew they had messed up.
"We're going home right now!" Nya said firmly grabbing both her children by the ears.
Nya formed her dragon and flew her kids home. Once they were there, Nya had a word with them.
"I don't know what I'm going to do with you kids." Nya yelled at them.
"Momma, I sorry. It was my idea, pwease don't bwame Liwy." Jax begged his mother in his baby voice.
"No it wasn't Jax's fault, it's mine." Lily said looking at her mom using her irresistible puppy dog eyes.
"That's it! This is the third time you've snuck out of the house this week alone." Nya said still very angry. "So for the next month, no video games and no TV!"
"Yes mommy." They said together as they sadly walked in their room.
Nya took a much needed deep breath and went into the kitchen where she found Jay sitting at table looking worried.
"Did you find them?" Jay asked, his throat obviously still bothering him.
"Yeah, they ran off again." Nya began to tell her husband. "I got them back safe and sound."
"I'm glad." Jay said sniffling. "I'm really sorry Nya I didn't even realize that they left."
"Honey it's ok. It isn't your fault." Nya said putting her hand on Jay's shoulder.
Jay didn't say anything and set there starting to cough. Nya poured him and herself some orange juice and set down across from him.
"T-thanks." Jay stuttered as he felt a sneeze coming on. "Achoo!" He wiped his nose with his sleeve and then took a sip of his juice.
"Bless you." Nya said.
"Thank you." Said Jay as he noticed Nya looked tired. "You ok?"
"Ugh what are we gonna do with those kids?" Nya said burying her face in her hands. She looked up. "I love those little trouble makers to pieces, I just wanna protect them from 'you know who.'"
"Nadakhan?" Jay asked.
Nya frowned and nodded. She and Jay honestly never believed the djinn would be brave enough to show his face again, but Jay said that he had some weird dreams about him recently right before he got sick. He assured Nya many times that it was just a coincidence, but she wasn't taking any chances with two little ones around.
"Do you want me to talk to them?" Jay asked.
"Maybe in the morning if you feel better." Nya said feeling his forehead which still felt warm. "What are you doing up anyway? You should be laying down."
"I wanted to wait to make sure you and the kids got back ok." Jay said sounding a little scared.
"You had another nightmare, didn't you?" Nya asked.
"Yeah that too. They've been getting more and more frequent. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about." Jay told her, although he didn't believe what he just said. He then had another big coughing fit.
"Still not feeling well?" Nya asked.
Jay shook his head as the coughing started to stop. He had a major headache, stuffy nose, sore throat and a fever of 135, which wasn't that bad a fever for an elemental master. He had taken the medicine that Nya got for him earlier, but he still wasn't feeling very good.
"Maybe I should give Lloyd a call and tell him we can't meet up with everyone tomorrow." Nya said sounding disappointed. "The kids are grounded anyway."
"I'm really sorry Nya, I know how much you were looking forward to it."
"It's alright, I wasn't that excited about it." Nya lied.
She was really looking forward to seeing all her friends, especially her brother and his wife and kids. It had been 4 years since she'd seen them in person and she hadn't even met her little nephew Blake yet. She knew Kai and Skylor were looking forward to seeing her, Jay and her kids too, but she knew there was nothing she could do if Jay wasn't feeling well. He needed her right now.
"Hey, just because I can't go doesn't mean you can't." Jay suggested.
"I don't know. I'd have to take the kids with me and you need someone here to take care of you." Nya said playing with Jay's messy brown hair.
"I'm feeling better since I took that medicine. I'll be fine on my own for a little while." Jay said smiling.
"We'll see how your feeling in the morning then I'll decide, ok?" Nya said. "I'm sure Lloyd will understand if we can't make it."
"Nya you should go. Tell everyone I said hi, ok?" Jay said before he started coughing again.
"Are you sure Jay? You still don't sound very good. I'd hate to leave you here all alone."
"Honey I'm serious. I'll be fine. Please, go have fun." Jay said smiling and sniffling.
"We'll see." Nya said.
"Ok, I love you." Jay smiled.
"Love you." Nya said back blowing him a kiss.
Nya walked with Jay back over to the couch. He had insisted that he sleep there tonight so that he wouldn't get Nya sick. She stayed with him until he fell asleep, and then she went to the kids' room and peaked through the door to see them both asleep in their beds. She smiled and closed the door. Then she went to her bedroom, got dressed and went to sleep. She had had a long day.
