Cole's P.O.V.:

Seliel was planning on to go back to Nom tomorrow so me, her and Allison were enjoying the last night we got to spend together before she left.

To be honest I didn't want her to leave, but I knew how important her job in Nom was to her and to her village. As much as I wanted to, I couldn't ask her to leave that. If it wasn't for Allison, I would've stayed in Nom with Seliel, but we didn't want our daughter growing up there.

Nom wasn't a place for a child to grow up. There weren't any other kids her age she could play with and there wasn't much for a six year old girl to do there. Seliel and I tried to raise Allison there when she was a baby, but since Seliel and I were always busy with the village we barely got any time to spend with her.

So we made the decision that I would take Allison and move back to Ninjago City so she could be happy and have a normal life, and Seliel would stay in Nom with her father and help her village. It was killing me that she had to spend so much time away from us, but we had to do what was best for our daughter.

For the last day of Seliel's visit we wanted to do something special for her so we planned a short hiking trip up to Ninjago Falls. It was a big waterfall just outside the city and it was only a short bike ride away from here. Allison hadn't been there before, but she was her mother's child, always up for a new adventure.

Our dragon egg was getting pretty close to hatching, but since it was a short trip we weren't planning on taking it with us. Allison had been doing a lot of research on how to take care of a dragon and I was proud of her for that. At first I wasn't happy about Seliel getting her a dragon egg without asking me first, but then I remembered that Allison was an only child and she was lonely most of the time. Maybe a dragon might be just what she needed to change that.

Seliel and I went to wake our daughter up.

"Ready to go All-Star?" Seliel asked as she peaked into the room.

"YAY!" Allison exclaimed jumping out of bed. She was already dressed and ready to go.

"Well I see someone's excited." I smiled.

We had a quick breakfast and then we headed on our way. The hike was great and Allison, Seliel and I had a wonderful time talking with one another and swimming by the falls. Overall it was an amazing day.

Before we went back to the house, we heard something moving around inside. I looked through the window and the place was ransacked all over. I worried someone had broken into the house. Allison was tired coming back from the hike and had fallen asleep on Seliel's shoulders.

"You stay here, I'll check it out." I whispered to Seliel.

"Ok, I'll get her somewhere safe." Seliel agreed.

"Mommy, what's going on?" Allison yawned as she woke up.

"It's ok cupcake, just stay with your mom for a sec while I figure this out ok?" I told her.

"Ok Daddy." She nodded.

Seliel took Allison and hid behind a bush nearby. I walked into the house and kept my guard up.

"Hello?" I said being cautious. I saw a shadow moving on the wall. I grabbed my old sword and began walking towards it. "Whoever's there, I have a sword!"

I felt the shadow getting closer and then I realized what had happened. I looked over at the dragon's nest we kept the egg in, and all that was left was the bottom half the eggshell, meaning it had hatched.

I kept looking around and then I saw the dragon. It was a tiny female dragon with brown scales and green wings. It reminded me of Rocky. It came closer to me and it's growling was getting loader with every step it took.

"Easy girl." I said as I put down the sword. "Good dragon. Good dragon."

Her wings flared up and she ran and tackled me to the ground. Then she started licking me and it tickled.

"Ok ok, down girl." I laughed.

She got off of me and I ran back outside to tell Seliel and Allison what was going on. They got quite a kick out of it and Allison was pretty excited about her dragon hatching.

We all went back to the house now that we knew it was safe and introduced ourselves to the dragon. She was a little unsure of us at first, but she eventually warmed up to all three of us, especially to me and Allison. She was an Earth dragon, and since we were both earth masters she felt a connection with us.

"What are you going to name her?" Seliel asked our daughter.

"How about..." She thought about it. "Pebbles!"

"That's a great name for an earth dragon." I smiled and turned to the dragon. "Hey there Pebbles."

Pebbles wagged her tail and licked me in the face. Allison and Seliel laughed.

"I think she likes that name too." Seliel giggled.

"Maybe a little too much." I laughed as wiped the slobber off my face.

Allison ran into Seliel's arms and she picked her up.

"Thank you for my dragon Mommy!" My daughter exclaimed.

"I'm glad you like it sweetheart." She smiled.

"Do you really have to leave tomorrow?" She hugged her.

"I'm sorry All-Star, but I have to." Seliel frowned. "Those people need a protector, and I already pulled every string I could to be here for the whole week."

"Pleeeaaassseee? Just a little longer?" Allison begged.

"I'll tell you what, I'll call your grandpa tonight and see if I can stay a few more days, but I can't promise anything ok?" Seliel said.

"Thanks Mommy." Allison smiled.

Allison Continued to play with her dragon. She gave Pebbles a tour of the house and then took her in the backyard to play. Afterwards they were pretty tired so Seliel put Allison down for a nap and Pebbles slept at the foot of her bed.

Seliel kept her promise to Allison and called her dad to see if she could stay a few more days and I was waiting to hear what his answer was.

"Dad, please it would only be for a few more days." Seliel said into her phone. "I know how much we have to do, but I..." ... "You know I don't want to bring her there she's too young." ... "Ok, see you tomorrow. Love you Dad."

She hung up the phone and turned to me. She didn't look happy.

"I take that as a no?" I frowned.

"I'm sorry, but I couldn't get out of it." She sighed.

"That's ok, I understand." I said disappointedly. "It was a long shot anyway."

Then Seliel started laughing and I was really confused.

"What's so funny?" I asked.

"What's funny is you fell for that." She laughed.

"Fell for what?" I asked still confused.

"Cole." She smiled. "I'm not leaving for two whole months."

"You're kidding! That's great!"

I jumped up and hugged her with a huge smile on my face. I was so happy she got to stay for a while, and I knew Allison was gonna be happy too.

"Oh boy I can't wait to tell Allison!" I exclaimed.

"I am too." She smiled. "Besides it was getting really boring over there, and you know how I like to stay busy."

"Yeah I get it." Then I realized. "Wait, why did you tell your father that you would see him tomorrow?"

"Oh, well I have to go back to Nom and get a few things, and then I'll be back the day after." She explained. "Hey why don't you guys come with me?"

"What? I thought you didn't want Allison to go there."

"I don't, but its only for a couple days so I think it would be alright. Plus they all really miss you over there, and they wanna see you."

"I miss them too." I sighed.

It wasn't the people of Nom that I missed, it was the people in the neighboring village, Edon. Jay and I went there went there one time after she sent a mysterious letter to me. I ended up with an injury after saving her life, and I still have the scar. While we were there, we discovered that Edon's mayor was actually my uncle, my mother's brother. Seliel was part of a deal to marry my cousin in order to end a huge conflict between them both. Lucky for me, Jay and I were able to put a stop to it and I proposed to Seliel instead, which everyone was happy about because my cousin was quite a jerk back then. Although Seliel told me that had grown up a lot and was a lot nicer now. The village was now a close ally of Nom's and vise versa.

After that we got married and we were planning on staying up there, but things changed when we found out Seliel was pregnant with Allison. We tried to raise her in Nom but it didn't work out so we agreed that I would raise our daughter here in Ninjago City, and Seliel would continue her work in Nom. It was hard, but it was what was best for our daughter.

"Well, it would be nice to see everyone again, but what about Pebbles?" I reminded her.

"We can either take her with us or find a dragon sitter." Seliel said.

"Good luck trying to find someone willing to take care of a dragon hatchling." I laughed.

"Well all your friends had dragons before right? I'm sure one of them will take her for a night or two."

"I don't think Kira and Lloyd want a dragon around with the baby on the way, same would go for Kai and Skylor." I pondered. "Maybe Zane and Pixal would be up for it?"

"Well ask Zane and see." Seliel said.

"Ok let me text him real quick." I said pulling out my phone.

I sent Zane a text:

————{{{Cole's Phone}}}————

Cole: Hey Zane, I
have a favor to ask.

Zane: What is it?

C: Remember how I was telling
you about how Seliel got Allison
a dragon egg for her birthday?

Z: Yes. Has it hatched yet?

C: Yeah, it hatched sometime
this morning. Allison named
her Pebbles.

Z: That's wonderful.

C: Yeah.

Z: So what was it you
wanted to ask me?

C: Oh yeah. So it turns out
Seliel has to make a quick
trip to Nom, and then she's
staying for two more months!

Z: That is awesome.

C: Yeah. We were wondering if you and Pixal would watch Pebbles for a day or two so
we could go to Nom with her.

Z: I thought Seliel did
not want your daughter
to go to Nom?

C: Me neither, but it's only
for a couple days and things
are pretty calm now, so it's ok.

Z: Well in that case, of
course I will watch your
dragon. I would hate for
you to miss your vacation.

C: Thanks Zane. We'll bring
her by in the morning.

Z: Sounds good.
See you then.

C: Thanks again buddy,
see you tomorrow.

Z: No problem.

I put my phone away and turned to Seliel. I tried to do the same trick she did, but I was a terrible actor and she saw right through me.

"He said he'd do it." I said.

"You better start packing then." She smiled. "I'll let my dad know."

I couldn't believe it. I was finally gonna see them all again. I was really excited about it and Allison would get to meet everyone. I mean, they already met her before, but she was a baby back then so she didn't remember. This was gonna be a pretty exciting trip.

Allison walked into the living room, her dragon right behind her. She might have overheard what we said because she was looking very happy.

"Hey cupcake. How was your nap?" I asked.

"It was fine Daddy." She said. "Did I hear you say we're going on a trip?"

"How would you like to go to Nom with me?" Seliel asked her.

"Really? I get to be with Mommy longer?" Allison looked at me.

I nodded and smiled, so did Seliel. My daughter got a huge smile on her face.

"I'll take that as a yes?" I smiled.

"Wait, what about Pebbles? We can't leave her alone." Allison asked.

"It's only for a couple days. Alex's family can watch her while we're gone." I told her.

"Ok then." Allison agreed. "When are we leaving?"

"We'll leave in the morning so you better get packing." Seliel answered.

"Wait, I thought Mommy was staying here." Allison frowned.

"When we come back, I'll stay here for two more months." Seliel smiled.

"What? Really?! YAY!" Allison exclaimed as she hugged Seliel.

"I'm really happy I get to spend more time with you." Seliel hugged her back.

"I am too." I said as I joined in the hug.

Then Pebbles jumped up and joined in too. We all laughed and we were really happy we got to stay together.

The next morning...

We were getting everything ready to go to Nom. It was too far to take them on my dragon, so we were planning on taking my old Earth driller. Luckily our dragon was just a baby, so she would fit long enough to take her to Zane's and drop her off.

We packed up everything and put it in the driller. We dropped off our dragon at Zane's then we continued to Nom. I really hope this time would go better than last time I went there, but Seliel said that things were pretty calm right now so I hoped this trip would go ok.

Allison had fallen asleep in the back and I was driving when I noticed Seliel was upset.

"You ok?" I asked her.

"Yeah, I was just thinking about the last time you came to Nom." She answered.

"Yeah I remember." I said.

"Things were so crazy back then, and now that things are calm, its getting pretty boring around there."

"Are you thinking of moving back permanently?" I asked excitedly.

"My dad said I could if I wanted to, but..." She stopped.

"But what?"

"What if something happens again?"

"What do you mean by that?" I asked.

"I mean if something happens Nom while I wasn't there to protect it, I would have to leave you both without much warning and I just don't want to leave you guys like that."

"Is that why you wanted to go back?" I asked.

"Yeah, I just wanna make sure everything is ok before I leave for two more months." She said.

"But I thought your dad said everything was fine." I reminded her.

"He did, but I just wanted to be sure."

"Alright then. But you know if you were going to stay, I'm sure we would be fine with that." I winked.

"Well I haven't decided yet, so don't get your hopes up." She said. "And please don't tell Allison until I do, I don't want her to be disappointed if I decide not to stay."

"I won't, don't worry." I said. "No pressure."

"Thanks." She smiled.

I continued to drive. To be honest I wasn't sure if even bringing Allison to Nom was a good idea. Considering what happened last time, I didn't want our daughter to be put in danger, but I had to trust Seliel. I was just really hoping that this trip would go well so she would come and live with us permanently, and I was gonna make sure it did.
