Lloyd's P.OV.:

After being told the news about my father, I didn't know what to do. What was he after? Or more importantly who was he after? I really wanted to go investigate, but I couldn't, I had Ryder and Kira. If I left, that might be exactly what he wanted me to do.

"Hey Lloyd." Kira said sitting down next to me. "Is everything ok?"

"Kira, Kai just told me about something." I looked at her.

"What is it?" She set down next to me.

"He was attacked by my father." I sighed.

"Oh my gosh, is he ok?"

"He hurt his back, but he said he was gonna be fine." I shrugged.

"And how are you dealing all this?" She asked.

"I don't know, I just want you and Ryder to be safe." I sighed.

"You want to go look for him don't you?" Kira asked and I nodded.

"I just want to make sure you and Ryder are safe." I said. "But I can't protect you if I'm not here."

"You know I can take care of myself." She reminded me.

"I just don't know what I would do with myself if I lost you again."

"You didn't lose me I left, and it was the worst mistake I've ever made and I'm sorry. But this isn't some stupid teapot we're talking about, this is your father. If you think people are gonna be put in danger, then you should go."

"What?" I asked.

"Go find your father and make sure he doesn't hurt anyone anymore." She said. "I'll handle things here."

"Are you sure? I'd hate to leave you all alone." I said.

"I'm not alone, I have your mom and Ryder here I'll be fine." She smiled.

"Ok but if you need anything be sure you call me ok?" I said.

"Of course. I love you."

"I love you too." We shared a hug and a kiss.

Then Kira packed me a backpack with some food and supplies for my trip, then I gave her a kiss goodbye and walked out the door. Then I formed my dragon to start looking for my father. I thought I saw someone moving near the woods behind Mega Monster Amusement Park, so I decided to land and check it out.

My dragon disappeared and I started to walk through the woods and I couldn't shake this feeling that I was being followed. I heard something ruffling around in the bushes so I decided to investigate.

I pulled my sword and peaked behind the bush, expecting to see my father but instead I saw Ryder. I was furious.

"RYDER WU GARMADON!" I scolded. "What in the First Spinjitsu Master's name are you doing here?"

"I wanted to help you Daddy." He said. "So I stowed away with you on your dragon."

"Ryder you shouldn't have followed me here! It's dangerous!" I yelled. "Your mom and grandma are probably at home worried sick about you."

"I'm sorry Daddy I was just trying to..." He started.

"I don't want to hear it!" I scolded. "We're going home right now!"

I took Ryder by the arm and I was about to form my dragon, but then I heard a familiar voice come from behind us.

"Hello son." I heard the voice say.

It was in that moment I realized I had found the one I was looking for. It was my father. I tucked Ryder behind me and pulled my sword as he came closer to us.

"Don't come any closer!" I told him.

"Daddy, who's that?" Ryder whispered to me pointing at my dad.

"Daddy?" My father stopped walking towards us. "He's your son?"

He came a bit closer and Ryder hid behind me even more. I knew he was scared, and I was scared for him.

"Ryder, stay close to me." I said and he nodded. Then I turned back to my father. "If you lay so much as one hand on him so help me I'll..."

"He's running away." He pointed behind me.

I turned around and saw Ryder running in the other direction. I had a choice to make: confront my father, or go after my son before he got lost. I chose to run after Ryder.

"Ryder wait!" I tried calling out for him, but he didn't hear me.

I kept chasing him through the woods, but he was really fast. He wasn't looking where he was going and he fell into a large hole in the ground. I ran to him where he fell.

"Ryder are you ok?" I asked peering into the hole.

"Yeah Daddy I'm fine, just a little stuck." He yelled up to me.

"Hang on, I'm gonna get you out of there ok?" I said.

"Alright." He yelled.

I had no idea what to do. My son was in trouble, my dad was still on the lose, and my pregnant wife was at home and had no clue about any of this along with my mother. She was probably worried sick about Ryder. I pulled out my phone and tried to call my mom, but there wasn't any service here. I was all on my own this time.

I started looking around for any kind of vine or something that Ryder could use to climb out of the hole. I was being careful not to stray away from the hole so I could keep an eye out for my father and make sure he never came close to him.

"It's ok bud, I'm gonna get you out of there." I yelled to Ryder. There wasn't any response. "Ryder?"

I looked into the hole and Ryder was nowhere to be found. I dropped everything I was doing and jumped down into the hole. I landed on my arm and it really hurt, but I couldn't stop now, I had to find Ryder. It was dark so I used my powers to light the way. It turns out the hole had been a breech in a small cavern.

"Ryder?" I called out for him. "Ryder where are you?"

"Daddy help!" I heard his voice coming from deeper in the cave.

"Keep yelling son I'll find you!" I told him.

"Son? What are you doing in that hole?" My dad said looking into the hole.

"Trying to get my real family back." I told him.

I didn't say another word to him. I kept trying to hear Ryder but he wasn't talking very much. He was probably too scared to talk for that long. So I had an idea.

"Marco!" I shouted.

"Pollo." Ryder shouted back.

"Marco!"

"Pollo."

We kept yelling it back and forth until I was finally able to find Ryder. He was curled up in a corner and waiting for me. He looked up at me and smiled.

"Daddy!" Ryder ran up to me and hugged me.

"I'm so glad you're safe." I hugged him despite how much my arm hurt. "Are you hurt?"

"I'm fine Daddy." He said.

"Great, let's find a way out of here ok bud?" I asked and he nodded.

I felt a breeze coming from the south side of the cave, so I figured there must be a way out. I kept Ryder close to me and we started walking towards the breeze.

My arm was still hurting and I couldn't move it very much, but that was the least of my worries. Kira was at home having no idea where Ryder was, plus she was really emotional due to her pregnancy so that was probably making her situation ten times worse.

"Daddy, I'm hungry." Ryder groaned.

"Ok let's see what your mother packed." I said.

I put the torch down and we set against the wall of the cave. I took my bag off my back and started to look through it. There was a first aid kit, some bananas, a few chocolate bars, a bottle of water and other supplies. Kira knows bananas and chocolate are my favorites.

"Here." I handed my son a chocolate bar. He liked candy just as much as I did at that age, he never stole it from an entire village though.

"Thanks daddy." Ryder said before taking a bite.

I took out the first aid kit and got the bandages out. I wrapped up my arm and it started to feel a little better. Ryder looked at me.

"Are you ok Daddy?" He asked looking at my arm.

"I'm fine son. Don't worry." I smiled. "Are you doing ok?"

He nodded and continued eating his chocolate bar. I took out a banana and started to eat it. I was pretty hungry and tired myself so I was glad we took this break.

Once we were done eating I picked up our stuff and we continued through the caverns. I kept following the breeze but it's almost like the caves were changing directions with every turn we took. It was proving impossible to find our way out.

"Daddy, my feet hurt." Ryder whined. "I want to go home."

"Me too son." I sighed. "But we have to keep moving. Mom and Grandma are at home waiting for us ok?"

"Ok." He sighed.

We kept moving, probably getting even more lost. As we turned a corner I saw something moving towards us in the darkness. It was my father. I immediately pushed Ryder behind me and tried to pull my sword but my arm hurt too much and I groaned.

"Are you injured?" My father noticed I was hurt.

"What do you want father?" I snarled, ignoring my father's question.

"I know the way out of this cave if you let me help." He said.

"Why do you want to help us?" I asked.

"I want to make up for my mistakes." He said.

"I don't have time for this! I have a family to get back to! Not that you would know what that's like." I snarked.

"It's been years since I've seen you." He pointed to Ryder. "It seems a lot has changed."

"If you lay one hand on him..."

"Relax, I'm not here to fight." He said.

"Likely story." I rolled my eyes. "Come on Ryder, let's go."

"O-Ok." He stuttered.

We kept moving for what felt like hours of walking. I could tell Ryder was getting tired, and so was I, but if we stayed the night, Kira would be even more worried about Ryder. For all I know she was already was.

There was no way to call her from down here because there was no signal so I couldn't help but think about what she must be going through. Plus her pregnancy was probably making it worse. All I could do was hope we could find a way out of here soon so we could get back to her.

We kept moving and I heard Ryder yawning. I turned to him.

"Do you need a to take a break son?" I asked.

He nodded and yawned again. We took a seat against the wall of the cave and rested for a bit. Ryder took a little nap and I tried my hardest to stay up in case my father came back. I wanted to sleep too, but I couldn't. I was too worried about Kira.

After he slept a little while, I was about to wake him when I saw my father came up to us. By that point I was too exhausted to fight him off, but I still wouldn't let him come too close.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"I want to make sure you were ok." He said.

"Yeah right." I rolled my eyes. "And you expect to believe that?"

"No, but I've been through a lot while I was in hiding. I've seen the error of my ways and remembered who I am. Who I was."

"So you remember everything?" I asked still in disbelief.

"Not everything. That's why I was going to ask for your help but I see you've been busy." He pointed at Ryder who was still sleeping.

"What's your point dad?"

"I wasn't there for you all these years." He frowned. "The least I can do is be here for you now."

"Yeah right. And I suppose you just expect me to trust you after everything you've done?"

"I understand if you don't trust me, and you have every right not to, but I have changed and I want to help you and your son get out of here."

"If you think for one second I will ever trust you again then you are sadly mistaken." I said firmly.

"Just give me a chance. If I help you and your son out of this cave, you can toss me in prison till the day I die."

"Seeing as we have no other choice." I sighed. "Fine, but if you try anything..."

"I understand." He said.

I stood up and was gonna pick up Ryder so he could get a little more rest, but my arm was still hurting from when I fell. I couldn't lift him. I held my arm in pain and my dad saw me struggling.

"Are you hurt?" He asked me.

"No I'm fine." I lied. I tried to pick Ryder up but once again I couldn't. "Ow!"

"Easy." He said "Here let me see."

He started to take a look at my arm. He touched it all around trying to see if it was broken. He touched it right above my elbow and it hurt.

"Ow!" I screamed and held my arm in pain.

"Careful. It might be broken." He informed me. "Here let me help."

He took out a green rag from his pocket and put my arm in a sling he made from the rag and it kinda hurt when he did.

"Ahh!" I flinched.

"Almost done, stay still." He said as he finished helping me. "There, how does that feel?"

"Fine." I said.

"Should we get going?" He asked.

"Not yet, let him sleep a little more." I said pointing at Ryder. "The poor kid's exhausted."

"Oh right." He said. "Do you mind if I ask you some questions?"

"Depends." I said.

He already knew about Ryder so I figured answering a few questions wouldn't do any harm, as long as they didn't get too personal. Plus, he was still family too, he had a right to know. Also he was my only way out of this cave, so I figured I owe him something.

"How old is he?" He asked pointing at Ryder.

"His name is Ryder and five years old." I answered.

"Is he your only child?" He asked.

"For now. We're expecting another in 8 months."

I face palmed and immediately wished I hadn't said that. Why did I say that?! My guess was the lack of fresh air from the cave getting to my head, and something told me I'd have to apologize to Kira later.

"Oh, well congratulations." He said.

"Thank you." I said.

"Do you enjoy being a father?" He asked.

"Yeah I love my little boy. I'm not very good at the parenting thing though."

"How long have you been married?"

"About six years, I've known my wife for eight." I answered.

"And your mom?"

"She's doing ok, why are you asking me all these questions?"

"I just wanted to know more about your life." He said. "It's been years since I've seen you and it sounds like a lot has changed."

"They sure have." I said.

Then Ryder started to wake up. He still looked tired, but we didn't have time to rest any longer if I wanted to get him home.

"Ryder, are you ok?" I asked.

"Yeah." He said yawning.

"Ok, come on. Grandpa's gonna help us get out of here." I said helping him up.

"Ok." He yawned again, then he noticed my arm. "What happened?"

"I'll be fine son, but we have to keep moving ok?"

He nodded and we started following my father out of the cave. I was careful to keep Ryder close to me in case my father was up to something. Plus thanks to my big mouth he knew about Kira being pregnant. That was a big mistake on my part.

After a few more hours of walking we were in sight of the exit. I had finally reached my limits. I was so exhausted I couldn't take another step. I dropped to my knees and Ryder ran next to me.

"Daddy?" He was concerned.

"I'm fine son, I'm just a little tired." I assured him.

"You ok son?" My dad asked me.

"I'm fine dad." I told him. Then I tried to bring myself to get up but I couldn't, I was too tired.

"Easy son, you're exhausted." My dad said.

"I'm fine, just give me a second." I said.

I took a few deep breaths and I think I passed out.
