Episode 18: Clues and Suspects

Plot: Lloyd has a vision of Zeatrix striking him down after he won the match while he's still lying there in a coma back at their quarters. Bleckt and Roby bring Zeatrix to them wanting to complete the transfer of powers. Roby tells them that Zeatrix has been expelled from this and all future tournaments. Zeatrix makes a sorry excuse for an apology while Arin notices the cufflinks on Roby's robes again. Wyldfyre speaks up to her and suggests other ideas, which makes her angry and she attacks them, which leads Roby to transfer all the powers she has into the cup.
Once they leave, Arin talks to Wyldfyre and suspects that Roby might be behind the dragon horns. He convinces Wyldfyre to come with her, but when Sora offers to help, he tells her that he needs ninja he can trust. We see a flashback of Arin playing a mystery board game with his parents. Then Arin and Wyldfyre break into Bleckt and Roby's building, but don't have any luck. After the match, Roby and Bleckt come back to their office and see Arin and Wyldfyre waiting outside. Wyldfyre distracts Roby and finds out that he got the cufflinks after the first game, meaning he was not the one who caused the bot attack. Once they leave, they manage to keep the door open and sneak in. They look around for clues and they find an entrance to a secret layer. They enter to see Roby's vandalized pictures and a calendar that says he met with Ras the day before the games started.
Sora tries to her best to learn spinjitsu, but finds it difficult without Lloyd's teachings and is also frustrated by Arin's sudden hatred of her. The next match pins Sora against Frak where they try to knock the other one off the floating platforms. They fight for a while until Frak is hanging off the edge of the platform. He recovers and almost puts on a wolf mask to do Shatterspin, but he remembers Arin's warning and decides not to. They keep fighting until Sora makes a giant heat blast that knocks Frak off. She is declared the winner and Frak's powers are transferred to her. While walking back to their quarters, Jordana gives Sora a note with an Imperian math equation written on it. She waits in the quarters for Arin and Wyldfyre to come back. Sora tells Arin that the words of the equation mean "crown" "mono" and "stereo" but doesn't know what it means. They figure out that it means the dragon horns are in the monastery on the other side of the cliffs.
Ras is angry at Frak for not using the wolf mask, but he says that was the only way to keep the fight fair, to which Ras throws him and walks away.
While he's stuck in his coma, Lloyd is trapped in his own visions of giant wolf mask warriors and seeing Arin and Zeatrix on their side. The motion source dragon shows up to fight them off, but she informs Lloyd that it won't work for long. Lloyd tells the source dragon that he feels like he failed in the tournament, but she assures him that he's not out yet and that he must win. He wakes up alone.
The games begin again and pins Lloyd against Nokt, but since Lloyd is still injured, Roby tries to get him to forfeit the match, but before he can, Lloyd shows up and faces Nokt in the games. Lloyd tries his best to fight, but he's so weak and slow that Roby and Bleckt pull him from the fight for being injured, meaning Nokt wins by default. Lloyd is distraught over failing the source dragons, but Sora reassures him that she can still win if Lloyd coaches her, which he agrees.
Meanwhile, Cole takes Arin to the monastery he found, but they have no way to get to it. Cole gets an idea and runs back to the city to grab the mech that belonged to his mother. He uses its last ounce of elemental energy to make a bridge and he and Arin make their way across. When arriving, they find four sparks that form themselves into the ghost of master Wu.

Things I Enjoyed:

- The way Geo is there just comforting Cole! 🥹

- Wyldfyre has been awesome this season!

- I love these little Arin flashbacks!

- I really like Frak honestly.

- Cole and Zane cheering Sora on was so sweet!

- Roby's reaction to Wyldfyre's flirting is so cute honestly! 🥰

- Arin just sitting on the yoga ball and it immediately flys out from under him! 😂

- The vision was so cool as always!

- Cole looks so good in white too! I'm so glad that they're not forgetting the older seasons like Masters of the Mountain!

- The shot of Lily before Cole builds the bridge was perfect! I really liked the music in this scene too!

Things I Didn't Like:

- They couldn't give Geo one line?

- The fact that Cole can never remember Jordana's name is now a running gag. It used to be funny but now it's just getting old.

- Ras you cannot just throw down on a child because he didn't win! 😡

- Wait, what did Roby say about killer jellyfish? 😳

- Lloyd would have totally destroyed Nokt if he was at full strength. In fact, if half of these challenges weren't rigged, Nokt wouldn't have made it past the first one.

- Ok Nya is missing from this whole episode (and so is Riyu)! At first I thought it was because she was going after Jay, but no, she just got captured and apparently no one notices for two whole episodes.

Overall score: 8/10

Favorite line: "And the elemental master of heat has zero chill." -Arin

Hey guys, sorry for missing so many reviews, a lot of stuff's been going on and it's just a lot to handle. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it and stay awesome!
