The end - Cole

Years later

You straightened up, stretching to relieve your sore muscles. You didn't noticed while shoving everything into your car (probably because Cole did a majority of it), but you packed some damn heavy boxes.

Boxes which you were sure were mostly full of crap you didn't need, but threw in there anyway. You weren't the most efficient packer.

You swept your hair out of your face, extremely tired from the long drive and the multiple trips from your car to your dorm. You looked over on the other side of your room, and frowned at the empty bed and white wall that mirrored your own. When was your roommate going to show up?

Sighing, you sat on your bed, phone in hand.

Should I call?

Would it be too soon? It's been three days...

This is ridiculous. He's my boyfriend, I can call him whenever I want!

And just as you were about to hit the call button, your phone started to vibrate and blare your ringtone.

Which of course scared the ever loving shit out of you.

And not only did it scare the ever loving shit out of you, it also made you drop your phone.

Cursing loudly, now glad that your roommate wasn't there, you picked up your phone, wincing at the spiderweb of cracks running along your screen.

You were so distracted by your shattered screen, you almost missed the name that was displayed on your screen. But when you did, you swore you never answered a phone faster in your entire life.

"Hello?"

"Y/n, hey!"

"Cole, you scared the crap out of me."

You heard him laugh, a sound that was way better than the hustle and bustle students were making outside your dorm, trying to settle in to their own.

"How did I do that?"

"I was just about to call you, and then you called me, and I shattered my phone...." You added that last part quietly, but of course Cole heard it.

"Your classes haven't even started yet and you shattered your phone?" You could almost see the amusement on his face. His voice certainly wasn't hiding it.

"Well.... yeah...."

Another laugh was a heard, followed by a sigh. "God, I miss you."

You smiled for the first time since you arrived. "Dido."

"So how are you fitting in so far?"

"Well, like you said, my classes haven't started yet, so nothing to report there. And my roommate hasn't showed up yet, either."

You didn't know how, but you could see Cole nodding along to what you were saying. "I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe she's just late, or from somewhere farther."

"Yeah, probably..... oh! I almost forgot. I met my dance team today."

"Yeah? And how did that go?"

"Well, I didn't trip or step on anyone's toes if that's what you were asking."

"Pretty much, yeah."

You protested in mock offence, and told Cole that when he came to visit you would lock him out.

"I'd just break the door down." He said smugly. "Super strength, remember?"

You frowned. "That wouldn't go well with my headmaster, boulder brains. Do you want to get me expelled?"

"If it meant that you could come home, I would break down every door on campus."

Your heart skipped a beat. You didn't know how to respond to that. So, of course, you let your mouth hang open while you were grasping for words to say.

Finally, after a minute, you managed to speak.

"Funny thing is, I'm pretty sure I  would let you."

Neither of you said a word a long while after that.

Your first day of school was a week later. It was also what you considered a success.

You managed to make some small talk with people, and you were even invited to go study at a nearby coffee shop with a few people from your math class.

You were proud of yourself, mostly because you managed not to trip over your feet. But also because you were able to have conversations and not stutter, or mutter like you usually did.

Today was a win.

Tired out of your mind, and eager for an after school snack, you felt a rush of relief when you reached your dorms door.

Finally, you thought while unlocking your door. I can relax for a bit, do my homework maybe take a hot shower..... or I could procrastinate and just watch my favorite show, that sounds good too.

But you never got to procrastinate.

Because as you were literally kicking off your shoes, Cole came out of your tiny kitchen with a plate and face full of cake.

And it was really a bad time, too, because you were literally kicking off your shoes. So, naturally, one hit him in the face.

The first thing that ran through your head: where did he get the cake from?

Second: Oh my god, I just hit my boyfriend in the face with my tennis shoe.

"Holy shit- what the hell!" Cole yelled in pain, dropping his cake on the floor.

Dammit I just cleaned the floor yesterday .

"I'm sorry!" You said, the guilt on evident on your face. "I didn't know you were going to be here!"

"It was a surprise!"

"Well, it ended badly!"

"I can see that!"

"I know!"

"SHUT UP!" Someone yelled from outside.

You both went silent for a moment, but the moment you made eye contact, you both started laughing, despite the thin trickle of blood doing out of Cole's nose.

Cole wiped away his tears, ignoring his nose bleed. "Oh, man. Who was that?"

You handed a box of tissues to Cole, insinuating that he should probably take care of his nose.

"Charlie." You answered, the name leaving a nasty taste in your mouth. You really didn't like her. "She's one of those Harvard rejects that takes her anger out on everyone."

You didn't learn about this personally, of course. One of your new friends from your math class was unlucky enough to have to room with her.

She was always shouting at people to be quiet, and once yelled at you for using the elevator and disrupting her peace.

Whatever that meant.

When you told Cole this while he was shoving a tissue up his nose, he commented on her....  interesting personality.

Again, whatever that meant.

But soon you moved on to different topics. Cole talked about his recent missions, surely over exaggerating the details for your benefit.

"It really was fifty feet tall, I swear!"

"I don't think cows grow that big, Cole." You said after he finished telling you the story of how he saved a little girl from being trampled by a heard of cows.

How cows got into the city in the first place, you had no idea. He wouldn't go into detail, so you had a feeling it had something to do with him and his brothers fooling around where they weren't supposed to.

You told Cole more Charlie stories, which he found fascinating for some odd reason.

"How do you smoke three cigarettes at the same time?" He asked curiously.

"You really don't want to know."

Cole frowned, but didn't argue.

"Do you really have to go?"

Cole nodded sullenly, reluctantly shrugging on his jacket. "It's two in the morning. And the ride back, even on my Dragon... it's going to take a while."

You mentally cursed your school for being so far.

"When are you coming back?"

Cole shrugged. "If I had it my way, I'd be here everyday."

You, of course, knew what he meant by that. He was a ninja,a saviour if ninjago. It was hard to take a day off of a job that could need you at any moment.

"I know." You said, but understanding why didn't lessen the sting of his absence. You didn't realize until that moment, but you really really missed your horrible cook of a boyfriend.

And it's only been less than two weeks when you saw him last (not counting today, of course)

Cole slipped on his jacket, and gave you a bone crushing hug, burying his face into your hair.

You let out a literal breathless laugh. "Are you sniffing my hair?"

"It smells nice." He muttered.

"I sure hope so."

He kissed the top of your head and open the door. "I better leave before I get too tempted to stay.... And before my nose falls off." He added, rubbing his nose, which had started to bruise.

"Yeah...."

But as he turned to leave, you shouted "Wait!"

He turned back towards you, only to have you jump tackle him into the hallway and kiss him.

Now, this was supposed to be romantic, but since it was you, you just ended up knocking you both to floor, surely disturbing Charlie (at least that's why you think she screeched from her room down the hall for you to be "fucking quiet")

"I can taste my spleen." Cole said from underneath, the wind knocked out of him. "And.... strangely popcorn?"

"I'm sorry!" This is the second time you've hurt your boyfriend in the span of five hours.

Of course.

"Um.... am I interrupting something?"

You and Cole looked over and saw a girl standing a couple feet away, a suitcase in hand and a bag over her shoulder.

It was your roommate.

"N-no!" You stuttered.

She smiled, like yeah right, and casually stepped over the two of you, and went into your dorm.

As she went to close the door, she said, "my name is Paula by the way. I look forward to meeting you."

She closed the door, leaving both you and Cole in the hallway, embarrassed as hell.

Fun fact about Paula: she was a brides maid at you and Coles wedding a few years later.

This took me forever, so sorry again. I try to write these as fast as I can, but since they're longer, and I have to take school into consideration it takes awhile.

And speaking of school, I have two tests to study for (friggin math is one of them -_-)
