"Hey, Lloyd, do you want to come to the park with me today? It'll be fun." Sakura asked.

"S-sure." I stuttered. "T-that would b-be great."

When Sakura had left to get ready, I facepalmed. Why did I always act like such an idiot whenever she was around? I always stuttered, fumbled my words, blushed like crazy, or did something totally embarrassing.

It was just... she was the most beautiful, smart, kind and daring girl I've ever met. Basically, I had a crush on her.

I've been planning to ask her out all week, but always chickened out at the last minute. Whenever I tried to talk to her, I would just end up saying, "hey, um, Sakura.....I....uh..." so I would just stand there stuttering those words out and looking like an idiot. Plus, Cole was super protective of his sister, so I'm pretty sure he'd flip if I asked her out.

Though...maybe I could try ask her out at the park?

Ninjago Park was beautiful. Lush green hedges dotted with colourful flowers lined the edges of the park. In the middle, there was a huge central lake filled with swimming ducks.

"Come on, Lloyd, let's go paddling!" Sakura said, kicking off her white Converse shoes. She started to run towards the lake. I followed suit and we waded about in the water, shrieking and splashing each other like little kids. I decided to take my chances and ask her out, right then and there.

"Sakura?"

"Yeah?

"There's been something I've been wanting to tell you..."

But then, disaster struck. Suddenly, a large duck flashed by honking loudly. Startled, I stumbled over it, splashing face-first into the water. Feathers and droplets of water were everywhere and the duck started emitting alarmingly loud quacks, drawing attention to us. People started staring at me splashing around in the water like a beetle on its back, struggling to get up.

"Lloyd! Are you alright?" Sakura asked, pulling me up. She plucked some damp feathers out of my even damper hair. "Come on, let's get you dried up."

Sakura and I trudged to the bathrooms. There were no towels, so I had to make do with paper towels. My cheeks flushed with embarrassment as I dabbed myself with with paper towels. Why did that duck have to come in and ruin everything?

"Lloyd? Are you alright? You look really upset." Sakura dabbed at my wet sleeves. "Maybe we should go back to the bounty. Your clothes are pretty wet and they won't be dry for a while, and I don't want you to get sick."

"No, it's okay. I'm fine, really. Look, why don't we just go have an ice cream? I hear that NinjaFreeze is a pretty good place to go."

As we sat down on a velvet sofa in NinjaFreeze, I turned to Sakura. "Sakura, about the thing I wanted to tell you earlier..."

"Yes, Lloyd?"

Just then, a rush of schoolkids burst through the doors of NinjaFreeze. They must be from Sensei Wu's academy, judging by their uniform. It was probably break time. As the kids rushed past me and Sakura's table, one of the kids' hands knocked mine - and splat! - mint choc chip all over my face.

"Lloyd? Um, do you need a napkin?" Sakura held out a napkin.

"Yeah, thanks." I grabbed it and wiped the ice cream off my face.

Sakura inspected my face, as if searching for signs of unhappiness. "Lloyd? You are okay, aren't you?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." I huffed. I dusted bits of crushed ice cream cone off my hands and stomped out of the NinjaFreeze ice cream parlour. Sakura hurried after me.

"Lloyd, wait up! I can't keep up with you."

I sighed as I stopped and waited for her to catch up. Sakura put her arm around me. "Come on." she said. "Why don't we go sit down on a bench? Then it will be less likely for another accident to happen."

As we sat down, Sakura asked, "hey, Lloyd? What were you trying to ask me all day? You can ask me now."

"Umm.... well...." I struggled. "I...I was actually..." I took a deep breath. "I was actually going to ask you out."

Sakura looked at me for a while. But then she smiled. "Oh, Lloyd," she said. Then she threw her arms around me into a tight hug. "Oh, Lloyd! I was going to ask you out today too, but...well, a lot of things happened today that got in the way."

I smiled, but then another thought surfaced. Sakura was Cole's younger sister. Cole was seriously overprotective of her, and I had seen him looking at me weirdly when I was talking to Sakura yesterday.

"Lloyd? Are you okay? You look....disappointed."

"No, no, I'm fine." I sighed. "But, Sakura....would Cole be okay with me going out with you?"

Sakura grinned at me. "Of course! Cole would be pretty happy that the guy I'm going out with is you."

"Plus, he's not in charge of who I'm crushing on."

And then she kissed me.

Gravity_Faller_1987, I'm so, so sorry that this took so long to come out. I had a lot of things coming up and Mum and Dad are only letting us use Wattpad for 30 minutes on limited days.
