Cole smiles at himself in the mirror, it took a lot of work but he had finally managed to get te rainbow streaks to show up in his pitch black hair. Sadly his joy was short lived when a loud knock came from his door and his father's voice filled the air, "Cole, get up, the pride protest is today and I don't want to miss the chance to yell at those god d**m F***ts. They disgust me, and you are not going to duck out this year."

"Gimme a minute I'm changing!" Cole yells back pulling on his black sweatshirt over his rainbow splatter painted shirt and flipping the hood over his now colorful hair, making sure no color was visible before opening the door.

Sighing Cole noticed his father was already out of the house and probably waiting in the car with his usual anti-gay signs that he brandished in peoples face on this day every year for almost as long as Cole could remember. He could barely remember the time his father wasn't homophobic, it was back before his mom had left to be with a woman and left her, closeted, gay son with a created homophobe. Every year Cole had gone with his father in hope of finding his mother so he could go live with her. He was never successful, but this year he wasn't going for her. He had turned eighteen four months ago and was ready to move out. This year he was going to join the parade and finally go public with his boyfriend of three years. Of course, Cole knew things would be rough between him and his dad for a while but that he could survive, they never had a great relationship anyway. All that matters now is getting to the parade meeting Kai and leaving his past in the past. Grabbing his keys Cole opens the door for what could be the last time and hurries out to the car. Cole slides silently into the driver's seat as his father glares at the radio that is spewing LGBTQ+ facts through its quiet speaker.

"Let's just get this day over with," his father growls as his changes the radio station.

"Yes, let's," is all Cole says as he practically speeds to Ninjago city Garage where he is meeting Kai, Nya, Jay, Skylor, Lloyd, and Zane.

"Alright here's out stop," Cole says, quickly parking in Front of The Smith auto repair shop.

He quickly hops out of the car and beams at the gay pride flag that hangs in the front window of the well-known shop. His grin grows impossibly larger as his lovely boyfriend walks out of the garage wearing a blue, purple, and pink shirt and white ripped jeans followed by the rest of his friends clothed similarly, Jay and Nya rocking pink, yellow, and blue, Zane in black, gray, white and purple,  Skylor in a purple shirt with a black triangle around a white ax, and finally Lloyd and his boyfriend, Brad, wearing rainbow shirts like him. Laughing Cole looks over at his father whose jaw is hanging open as he stares at the group in front of him. Smiling the couples intertwine their hands and hold them up for the elder man to see. All is silent as the signs the once held fall limply to the ground and he turns to his son a look of complete disgust painted on his face.

Cole takes a deep breath and pulls his hood down and quickly removes his hoodie to expose his undershirt, "This is who I am, dad. I'm gay and there is nothing you can do about it. Hate me all you want; it won't change a d**m thing."

Kai smirks at him as he walks over and pulls him in for a sweet kiss that makes the world stop turning.

"Let me help you with those," Nya says moving to grab Mr. Brookstones signs from off the ground and ripping them in half, "Much better."

No words come out of Cole's father as the man storms off, rendered completely speechless from the passionate display from his son.

"You did it," kai whispers softly into his ear, "You're finally out of the closet. Congratulations."

 Cole laughs wholeheartedly as he pulls Kai closer and nuzzles into the crook of his neck. Pride month had barely even started and it was already the best time of his life.

Yes, I know pride month was June, but I just had the inspiration to write this so have my gay writing.

Lloyd: *walks out of Jay's closet* *screams* I'M GAY!!!

I had my less than straight friend over and they did this, I couldn't breathe from laughing too hard.
