Zane smiled as he pulled his boyfriend through the thinning crowds. Despite the chilly air the hand entwined in his continued to resonate warmth, but with each step he could feel his partners displeasure growing. Zane avoided turning around, unwilling to meet his partners beautiful amber-red eyes.
"So where are we going," his companion asks as he moves to walk next to his cold friend.
"A special place," Zane says, as the duo walks into a small park.
Dense set trees surround a pond buzzing with unbridled energy.
As the two stand by the edge of the water, despite the urban location the area was silent, excluding the soft rustle of the trees.
"Kai, I can't do this anymore," Zane said abruptly, moving his partners face gently before continuing, "I can't keep being your boyfriend,"
The taller pauses and the two lock eyes, " I love you too much for that. You are my ONE and only, my life, my love."
He kneels down grabbing the velvet box from his pocket, "Kai Smith will you marry me?"
No words escape Kai's mouth as he stares at his boyfriend. Tears stream freely down his face as his head bobs dumbly up and down. Zane smiles as he slips the ring on his boyfriend, no, fiance's finger.
