A frown forms on Jay's lips as he bites his tongue after being insulted once more; he can feel the tears prick but they will not fall.
"Hey," Morro says gently punching his shoulder," You not gonna talk to me anymore?"
"I-I'm trying not to talk so much because every time I do I get told to shut up," he replies quietly.
"Well whoever told you that can shove it up their, ya know," The dark haired teen states, resting his hand gently on Jay's shoulder," I for one love talking to you,"
A rare true smile overtakes Jay's features and the elder teen can see the gentle glimmer his eyes once held returning. No one could deny that it was a welcomed sight.
"Thanks, Morro, you saying that means a lot to me,"

The ginger sighs as he adds the last of the shading to his newest drawing, an arm lined with self-harm and the words Little Red Lines.
"You should draw me something for my graduation," Morro says, moving a chair to sit next to the younger teen, "I would love to have any drawing if it was made by you."
"Sure, I'll redraw this one," he says jokingly pointing to the newest addition to his collection.
"Please don't. I actually used to do that," he grimaces.
"Same," Jay mutters, looking away from his friend.
"Well, then a pact is in order. I won't if you won't," he grins holding out his pinky.
Jay smiles and wraps his pinky around his friend.

"How did you get two allergic reactions in the exact same spot on both arms?" PIxal whispers to Jay in their free English hour.
"Didn't," He replies in the same hushed tone,"I scratched my arms for like a half hour straight and this was the result, just like I don't have dog scratches on my shoulder."
"Oh, I knew about your shoulders but wow; that must have hurt," she says flinching back slightly as Jay removes the band-aid to show her the scratches.
"Yeah, I really didn't feel it, pain is just kinda something I'm used to, but on a different subject how long have you known about the scratches?" he says, moving a strand of curly hair out of his face.
No amount of preparation could have prepared her for her response, "Since the start of Eighth grade."
The look of shock on his face was clear as his voice left him, "I-I hadn't started in yet eighth. It was over the summer."
"Oh," was all she could say as an awkward silence enveloped the two.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jay wrung his hands with nerves as he looked at the group in front of him,"If any of you don't truly care about me then please leave. This conversation is not for your ears," no one moved but they all did stare with hopeful eyes as he began his stuttered explanation," I-I know it's hard to believe, but I c-cut. I have for almost a year now, and I wanna stop. I don't want to feel like I'm being crushed by the desire to feel pain because it seems like all I can truly feel. It hurts like a heck fire when you all bash me for being myself because I am trying so hard. Several people have already told me that if others don't like me then I should change who I am, but I'm done changing for others. That is how I got to this mentality, I thought I was doing something wrong because even when I was trying my very best to be better someone shot me down. Now I'm here not because I completely trust any of you anymore, but because of Morro and Pixal. I want to be better and even with all that has happened in the last year I still want to have you all as part of my life. We may fight but you all have helped me find who I am, and for that, I don't want to lose any of you because of this hitch in the path."
At some point in his speech, Jay had closed his eyes as tears threatened to spill.
"Jay, look at us," Kai says gently grabbing the other teens hand, "it's okay. It may not seem like it now but things can and will get better. When was the last time?"
"A month ago, Morro helped me. I won't do it anymore, it makes me feel weak," Jay replies a waterfall of tears rolling down his cheeks.
Blurred shapes move around the shaking boy as a smile breaks across his face as five pairs of arms wrap around him in a warm embrace. Each person like a stitch on his broken heart, binding him together so he can heal.
"Jay we all love you, and that will never change."
