* 6 - Childish Problems

Both girls were giggling uncontrollably and ran down the hall in search of their room, opening door-after-door with excitement, almost like they were on a never-ending sugar rush. They had so much energy, the thought of living with the Ninja and having their very own room had them bouncing with enthusiasm. They had no idea why they were trying to run away from it all in the first place.
"Hey, maybe this one!" Mia shouted, opening another door and peeking her head inside, only to shake her head and close the door quickly, "Nope, that looks like the boys' room!"
Scarlett giggled, "Mia, come here! I think I found our room...! Well, what I think looks like our room!"
Mia raced over, her eyes looking into the opened room that Scarlett was standing in front of. The redhead sighed, shaking her head once more and putting a hand on Scarlett's shoulder, "No, this can't be it! Look, its only got one bed... I bet this is Nya's room! Wait, what about that room over there?"
"H-Hey, wait up, Mia!" The dark-haired girl laughed, following after her friend.
Mia rushed over to another door, not hesitating to swing it open and run inside the room. But what she hadn't anticipated was tripping on her way into the room. She squeaked loudly as she fell and not long after, Scarlett tripped over her fallen figure and on top of her, as she hadn't noticed Mia tripped earlier.
Hearing a commotion, the Ninja and Nya quickly stepped out of Sensei's room and over to where the girls were, Jay letting out a snicker at seeing the two on the floor and on top of each other, "Oh my god, what happened to you two?"
"Don't laugh...!" Mia hissed, trying to get Scarlett off of her but the girl didn't seem to budge. "This is hardly a laughing matter and—Scarlett, can you get off of me?"
"R-Right... Sorry about that!" Her friend quickly jumped off of her, allowing the redhead to get back onto her feet, "Hey... Mia, I think we found our room!"
The room had two beds on either end, with a large window in between them, curtains opened and allowing sunlight to shine into the room. A dresser was on the other end of the room, which held clothes and other items inside, and a sliding door for the bathroom, which was connected to the bedroom. Both beds were different, one was purple, while the other was scarlet.
Mia was bouncing on her heels, giggling and running over to the window, as she opened the glass and felt the fresh air, "Wow, we get an awesome view from this window?! That's amazing...!"
"I wanna see too, Mia!" Scarlett skipped over and next to the red-haired-girl, gasping in exhilaration at the view and the feeling of the air hitting against her face, "Why was I even trying to walk away from all this? This is so cool!"
Cole sighed, not engrossed by their playful nature, "I can't believe these are the Ninja who are destined to destroy the shadows. They're acting more childish than Jay!"
"Hey...!" Jay shouted at him, offended.
"Even so, we must remember that they are still passably young," Zane added in, watching the two girls looking out the window, tittering while they did, "In time, they will learn the responsibility they must have to become a Ninja. But for now, let them have this. They deserve it."
Mia grinned, sticking her arms out the window and leaning forward, "Look, I can stick my arms out the window! And the air... It feels so nice out here too!"
"Hey, I wanna try that too!" Scarlett copied Mia's actions, plunging her arms out the window and tilting forward. She giggled at the feeling of the air grabbing at her arms, before moving her upper body out the window as well, "Wow, it feels even better when you do it like this!"
Kai looked over to the others, biting his lower lip while continuing to watch the two girls, "Uh, don't you think we should be stopping them before they do something dangerous?"
Jay rolled his eyes at the Fire Ninja, "They're fine... I doubt they're gonna hurt themselves."
"Let me...! I wanna do that too!" Mia cheered, stepping closer to the window and standing on her tiptoes, while she leaned her upper body outside the window. The air brushed through her hair and against her chest, which almost led to her falling out the window and she would've, if Scarlett hadn't caught her.
"Careful," She warned the redhead, but her smile didn't leave her face, and she helped Mia stand upright. "Hmm, on second thought, maybe this is a better option." With that, she sat up on the windowsill and her legs dangled out the window, as she kicked them back-and-forth energetically.
Mia nodded, but a smirk found its way onto her freckled face, "Yeah, but maybe... I can try something a little different." She sat the opposite way of Scarlett, with her legs facing inside the room and she pushed her upper body downward, outside the window and her hands tightly grabbed onto the windowsill. "Wow, the air feels so nice down here! This is so much fun...!"
"Alright, that's enough, you two!" Kai shouted, knowing well that what they were doing was clearly dangerous. He raced over to Scarlett and pulled her away from the window, into his arms, "You should know better than to do things like that."
Scarlett frowned, "But I was having fun..."
Kai placed her back on her feet, his eyes growing more serious when he stared down at her, "It won't be fun when you accidentally fall out that window. God, please, you need to be more careful about these things..."
"Fine..." She rolled her eyes playfully, feeling that he was being a little over-dramatic about the whole thing. Of course she wasn't stupid enough to fall out the window. She'd never do anything like that.
"That goes for you too!" Lloyd briskly seized Mia away from the window and into his arms, closing the glass frame and setting Mia on her bed, "Remember, I don't think you should be getting any more injuries like this." He touched her bandaged forehead with the tip of his index finger.
Mia giggled, positioning both hands to the bandages, "Well... This hardly hurts anymore. And you don't need to worry about anything, I'm perfectly fine." She unwrapped the compresses from around her head, only a small cut visible on her forehead.
"For now..." Lloyd mumbled under his breath, but not loud enough for her to hear.
"Hmm, this has been fun and all, but I really wanna do some exploring of the rest of the place!" Tilting back-and-forth on her heels, her eyes lit up and she careened out of the room before anyone could stop her.
Lloyd's eyes widened and he ran out of the room after her, "Hold on a second! Wait up, Mia...!"
Everyone watched the two run out of the room with confused glances but within moments, it was focused over onto Kai and Scarlett. The Fire Ninja sighed, tossing his fingers through her dark hair, and she tensed up at the touch, her eyes wandering over to him.
"D-Did you just touch my hair?" She asked, a playful smile coming back onto her face.
Kai smirked down at her, continuing to touch her hair, "Yeah, what's wrong with that? Did you not like it?"
"Hmm, well..." Scarlett grinned mischievously and reached up, touching the Red Ninja's hair too, which caused his fingers to stop what they were doing, "I'll admit, it did surprise me a little. Huh... You're hair is really soft!"
"W-What? Really...?" Kai's face slightly went red at her words, feeling her fingers continue to move around in his messy hair.
Scarlett took notice of this, moving her finger down teasingly to trace down his chest, and watched as he became more tense. Her smirk grew wider, but she didn't dare stop her fingers, "So... Why is it that you touched my hair?"
"B-Because... I thought you looked cute when you were acting like a child." Kai blushed, taking a small step away from her, only for Scarlett to take a step forward, "It was actually... really cute."
Scarlett hummed in response, "Hmm, thanks for the compliment but... you seem to be pretty cute yourself, Kai." She was still acting a bit frisky, and was starting to sedately come back to her senses, but that didn't stop her from moving her finger up across his arms, "Actually, a lot."
Jay and Cole were holding back laughs from behind, while Zane stood there in confusion, oblivious to the whole scene, "I do not understand how this is amusing to you two. Why is Kai's face all red like that? Is he getting sick?"
"Just watch, Zane," Jay snickered, covering his hands over his mouth to hide his laugh, "And he's not sick, this is what happens when people get lovey-dovey feelings for a certain person."
"Ah... That would explain why Kai's heartbeat has accelerated in the last few minutes." Zane nodded, understanding. "Does this mean he has feelings for Scarlett?"
"Obviously..." Cole leaned against the wall, laughing.
Kai's face heated up at hearing their words, "Shut up, you guys! You're making this way more worse than it already is!" He walked backwards and towards the door, placing his hand on the knob, "And, uh, besides... I just remembered I have something I need to do. I'm not sure what is but... It's something! Yeah, bye!" And like that, he rushed out the door as fast as he could.
Both Jay and Cole burst into fits of laughter at his retreat, causing Nya, who had been in the room the whole time, to roll her eyes at the two, "Boys... They can be so annoying at times." And she walked out of the room, and Scarlett giggled a little.
"You should totally do that again, Scarlett!" Jay had calmed his chortling down, but was grinning ear-to-ear as he spoke, "I've never seen Kai act like that before!"
"Really...?" Scarlett smirked, laughing again and placing both hands at her hips. "Then... Where can we find him so that we can do that again?"
Cole rubbed the back of his neck, "Usually up on the deck. He trains whenever he needs to sort out all his emotions."
"Come on...!" Jay shouted, grabbing Scarlett by the hand and out the door, making her squeak out in surprise. Cole followed close behind the two and Zane sighed, walking after the three, not sure what they were finding amusing about this.
When the four stood by the opened door to the deck, they found the Fire Ninja slicing through training dummies and slamming his fists into punching bags. Cole nudged Scarlett forward a little, "Go on, do what you were doing earlier to him."
"Y-Yeah... sure." She nodded hesitantly. Honestly, she wasn't as nervous about doing this before, but now that she was wide awake and aware, she was a bit edgy.
"Just go...!" Jay pushed her forward, leaving Kai to notice Scarlett right away, while him and the other two snuck up into the Bridge to watch the whole thing.
Kai turned to her but stopped himself from blushing at the sight of her, remembering clearly what happened earlier. "Uh, hey, Scarlett. What are you doing up here?" He mentally slapped himself for asking that.
"Oh, not much. The others told me that I could find you up here. You know, because you usually sort out your emotions when you train." She rested her arms over her chest like before and took a step forward, "So... Why is that?"
Kai nervously laughed and took a step back, giving her a small shrug, "God, I don't really know. I mean, I just have a lot on my mind right now."
"Hmm, like what? Because you seemed to be out in hurry when you ran out the door back inside." Scarlett hummed, watching as the Red Ninja backed up into a nearby wall and she easily cornered him. "You're face also seemed to be very red."
"That's because... I couldn't control myself when you were touching me with your finger." Kai sputtered out, his eyes darting around and trying to escape this situation.
Scarlett tilted her head, smirking with curiosity, "Oh? You mean when I did this?" She easily traced her index finger across his chest and watched as his face went bright red, her finger going up to cup his cheek, "You seem like you can't control yourself around me."
"That's because I c-can't." Kai cursed at himself, realizing that he was beginning to stutter in front of her, which is something he hardly did. "I really... l-like you a l-lot, Scarlett."
"Well, that's nice to hear." Scarlett placed a hand over his heart and grinned wider, her eyes turning up to look at him, "Well, you're heart is beating really fast," she moved her hand up to his cheeks, "and your cheeks are turning red," and then she placed one finger to his lips, "and finally, you're beginning to stutter out your words."
Kai flushed more red and nodded, "You got me there, Scarlett. I don't think anyone has ever made me feel this way before. It's strange."
Scarlett shook her head and inched closer to him, "I don't find that strange at all. Actually... I think you're a really cute guy, Kai, and... maybe I was wrong about you."
"Heh, you might have been. But I'm not a bad person or anything, I'm just―" But he didn't finish, as she interrupted him before he could.
"―Really flirty, I know." The dark-haired girl blushed a little, and she hesitantly wrapped her arms around him, "But... If you really like me that much, then maybe we can work something out. You're really... hot. Oh shit, that was a terrible joke, I'm sorry!"
Kai shook his head, rubbing the side of her head a bit, "No, I actually liked hearing you say that. It made... my heart flutter."
Inside the Bridge, both Jay and Cole were bursting with laughter from what happened earlier, and Jay placed a hand on Zane's shoulder, who was utterly confused by both of them, "Zane, please tell me you were able to record all of that!"
"Yes, I recorded it, since both of you seemed to be very amused by the whole thing." He sighed, and began walking out the Bridge, "I think I'll go check and see what Mia and Lloyd are up to." And he left out the door calmly.
"Wow, we sure are lucky to have a nindroid...!" Cole cheered in excitement. "Although, Kai won't be very happy once he finds out that we recorded him and Scarlett."
"No kidding...!"

Lloyd ran swiftly down the halls and after a giggling redhead, who easily ran ahead of him while he chased after her. She was acting like a complete child, liking the bubbling excitement inside her from playing around with Lloyd. She never thought she would be acting like this but here she was, laughing like an idiot down the halls.
"You'll never get me, Lloyd!" Mia teased, speeding off and into one of the spare rooms, hoping the Green Ninja didn't see her. She closed the door and slid underneath the bed, hiding from him.
She heard the door crack open and light from the hallway shined into the dark room. Covering her hands over her mouth to stop her laughing, she saw Lloyd's feet walking around the room, while he tried to find where she was hiding.
"Well... I guess she's not in here." He said, causing a smile to appear on the redhead's face, accidentally letting a small giggle escape her lips. But instead of going for the door, the Green Ninja jumped onto the bed and snatched her out from under it, while she let out a squeal, "Ha! Found you...!"
Mia giggled louder, putting both hands to her stomach from laughing so much, "Wow, you're really good at this game! But how did you manage to find me?"
"Oh, that's easy." Lloyd smirked and poked her on the nose gently, getting another laugh from the girl in front of him. She sat up and looked over at him, "I could easily hear you giggling from under the bed. No way I wouldn't be able to hear that."
"You got me there." She chuckled, leaning forward and grinning wider, wrapping both arms around him unintentionally, "Can we play again? Please?"
"S-Sure..." Lloyd blushed from her sudden embrace and watched her excitement come onto her face, and she quickly ran out the door, going to find another place to hide. He sighed, "What have I gotten myself into?"
Rising to his feet, he walked out of the room and slipped out into the hallway. He noticed the door down the hall was closed, while the other doors were left open slightly, and he approached the door but hesitated upon standing in front of the bathroom. He shook away the hesitation fleetly and twisted the doorknob open, finding it quiet and empty inside.
"Mia... I know you're in here somewhere." He called out, discerning that the shower curtain was closed and he mentally slapped himself for not noticing sooner, before yanking it open and found a giggling girl behind the curtain.
Mia tripped on the way out but Lloyd caught her by the arms before she could fall, "Wow, you really are good at this! You managed to find me again!" She chuckled, moving herself away from him, while she was beginning to come back to her normal self.
"Well, being a Ninja does help with that." Lloyd told her, leaning against the wall and looking down at her, "And glad to know that you're coming back to your senses."
The redhead rubbed the back of her neck, nodding slowly to him, "Yeah, I think I got a bit excited back there. Sorry about that."
"No worries, I actually found it kind of cute." Lloyd blushed a little as the words left his mouth and his eyes turned away from her, "Uh, sorry, I didn't mean it like that."
"You... think I'm cute? No one has ever told me that before." Mia felt her face heat up held herself in her arms, sighing, "I didn't even think of myself as that. I mean, I'm not all that cute or pretty and certainly not with my hair."
Lloyd shook his head in denial, grabbing a strand of her hair and bringing it to his lips, "I don't think that way. I think your hair is very beautiful and it suits a person like you." He realized what he said and dropped the strand of her hair, patting her hesitantly on the head, "Uh, sorry again. I didn't mean to do that."
"That... No one has ever said that to me before either." Mia smiled at him, before gazing down at her feet with a frown. "Usually... People make fun of my hair or say that they don't like it. That's why I usually hide it under my hood... So no one has to see it."
The Green Ninja blinked a few times, before he ran over her words in his head, and shock was written on his face, "Wait... People said that about you? Well, they don't know what they're talking about because I think you're amazing the way you are. You don't have to hide your hair from me or the others, we all like you the way you are."
"Oh my god... Thank you!" Mia instinctively wrapped her arms around him and gave him a hug. She didn't realize what she was doing until after a few seconds, "Ah... I didn't mean to do that!" She tried to quickly pull away from him but ended up tripping, with her hands grabbing onto his Gi and pulling him down with her on the floor, "Seriously... I'm so clumsy! I'm really--" But she didn't finish, her eyes finding the blond right on top of her, with her underneath him.
They both stared at each other with wide eyes, their faces a complete blushing mess, and Lloyd hesitated, reaching out and touching her red hair. Mia was honestly surprised by the action, but she didn't stop him, her own hands touching his hair too.
But it was the moment when Lloyd felt the urge to want to kiss her, that they both heard a knock at the door, startling them both, "Lloyd? Mia? Are you two in there?"
Hearing the nindroid's voice, Lloyd rushed onto his feet and helped Mia up, before Zane opened the door and found the two teens, "What are you two doing in here?"
"Uh... Well, Lloyd was just showing me around the Bounty and he happened to be showing me the bathroom right now." Mia lied, folding her arms behind her head and she chuckled nervously, hoping Zane believed what she said. She gently nudged the Green Ninja with her shoulder, "Isn't that right, Lloyd?"
"Y-Yep...!" The blond said a little too quickly, and he rubbed the back of his neck, chuckling. "And now she knows where to find it."
Zane knew something was up between the two, by the way they were acting and their messy hair, it was obvious what was going on, and in the bathroom, of all places. But the nindroid didn't question them further, knowing well that if Kai and Scarlett were beginning to have a romantic attraction towards each other, the same could be said about Lloyd and Mia.
"Alright..." Zane nodded to the door, deciding to head back to the Bridge. "But the others will start to wonder what you two are doing if you stay down here too long."
Mia agreed, watching him leave the bathroom and shut the door behind him. She sighed in relief, "He's probably right, we should head back up before everyone gets suspicious."
Lloyd nodded his head, looking in the mirror and fixing up his hair, so that it didn't look all messed up. He pointed to Mia's hair, which was clearly a mess too, "You should fix up your hair too."
"Right!" Mia said, her hands fixing up her hair in a bit of a hurry. Once she was done, the two of them headed out the door and towards the deck.
"So... What does this mean for us?" The blond asked, looking down at the redhead, who was slightly shorter than him, "You know, with what happened back there... Should we tell everyone about it?
Mia shook her head in disagreement, "No, maybe it could be our little secret for now?"
"I like that," Lloyd smiled down at her, and found her hand intertwined in his, "Our little secret that's between us."
