Chapter Twenty Seven
A/N: Still no idea what's going on, but I really really do hope I can convey properly what's happening with the right words where it doesn't suck
Cuz if I write it properly, sht's about to get realllllllllll
There's also some curse words
I stood back up, brushing off my Gi and straightening it out. Still no people, still no sign of whatever the hell is in my head with me. You'd think it would be a bit cheerier in here, but no. I'm stuck in Depression Central with a murderous ghost who's bent on world domination.
It's so lonely... I really hope the guys are doing better out there than I am in here.
"They're not."
Oh, wonderful. I stopped and turned to face him. At least Morro was back to kind of looking like Morro instead of my damn brother, "How would you know? Hmm?"
"My army is patrolling the town," he crossed his arms and shook some hair from his face, "We've caught your mum and your precious Sensei and there's still no sign of any of your precious ninja."
"Maybe they've wised up about fighting you," I cocked off, "We're on a town of water, they're probably just under the docks filling up balloons to toss at you wankers."
Morro rolled his eyes at me and sighed, "Will you ever take anything seriously?"
"Never," I shook my head, "If you can't laugh at yourself you're not living--" I cut off to duck out of the way of him leaping at me.
"Do you ever shut up?" he snapped.
I righted myself and set myself in a defensive stance, "Not really, no. Any reason you attacked me for no reason?"
"You talk too much for someone in a fight," he rushed me and I side stepped him, but clotheslined him with an arm. With him hooked, I hopped and slammed my whole weight down into the dock, rolling with him and flinging him over to my other side.
Morro wasted zero time in standing up and backing off a little, looking winded. I jumped up and gave him a once over, "Done fighting me for no reason? Attacking an unarmed enemy is really unorthodox."
He rolled his eyes, "Maybe I was distracting you from checking your surroundings."
A quick 360° turn told me that we were still, "Alone? Empty? Nothing's changed. Can I go back to accepting my demise and watching the horror flick that is my real life?"
Morro already had his back to me, "By all means, watch the beautiful destruction of your home..." his voice faded in with the green fog overlaying the docks, and then I truly was alone again.
*.*
An explosion in the distance and an angry huff from my real-life body before an angry shout followed, "The ninja are winning! Get out there and stop them!"
I like to think the other two ghosts moved so fast because my appearance has an eerie creepy look, and my normal body was just so terrifying -- I took pride in being able to intimidate easily. But in reality, they probably scurried off so fast because it was Morro speaking.
I was still perched in the clock tower, overseeing the destruction of this quiet fishing town. However, after an all too familiar sounding, "Hey!" echoed through my ears I was punted back about fifteen feet with a two-feet kick to my chest.
Fuggin' aye, Lloyd...
Morro and I sat back up, rubbing at the footprints that were now probably permanently imprinted on my ribcage. And we sat back up just in time for Lloyd's angry exterior to falter and soften, "Lizz...."
He wasn't wearing his Gi... Where did his gree Gi go? Seeing Lloyd in battle dressed in jeans, a white shirt and a green hoodie made him look so young and vulnerable, "Lizz isn't here anymore, Lloyd."
"Yes she is," Lloyd pushed his hands together and created a giant energy orb, "This fight just became between you and us, Morro!"
"Your green Gi belongs to me now," it was suddenly in my hand. Where did Morro even get that? When did he have time to go find that?!
Why can't he get it through our fat head that just because you have a green Gi, doesn't make you the Green Ninja!?
Lloyd took up a ready stance, and again I watched his bravery falter as I started cackling, "You think I'm going to go easy on you? Just like you will on me because I'm borrowing the body of your precious baby sister?" he unsheathed the Sword of Sanctuary from my back and aimed the tip at Lloyd, "Let's see how good you are!"
*.*
After Morro started dismantling the clock tower, taunting Lloyd about how much stronger he is, that's when I ducked back into the slightly more safe confines of my head.
At least in here it's quiet, one on one.
I can't let Lloyd fight this alone.
Gotta find Morro, gotta find Morro. Looking down alleys and across the water and still nothing. Peeking my head around corners, nothing. I was picking up speed, all but sprinting around, "Morro!" I shouted.
No immediate response, and my voice bouncing around through the fog scared me. I took a deep breath and skidded to a stop in the town square, "Morro! Get out here and fight me, you scared little--"
"Why should I?" his voice floated to me from somewhere to my left, "You've lost. There's no one left to fight your battles."
"I'm still here, aren't I?" I snarked, really wishing I had a weapon, "My team still fights out in the real world, and as long as one of us still stands, all of us stand. We'll fight you until the last of us falls, Morro, and that last one may just be me... unless you stop being so chicken and get out and fight me at full power."
He simply cackled, finally materializing a few feet in front of me, "I'm not too chicken to do that. I gladly would, however it's the smarter move to just not."
C'mon Lloyd, I hoped pathetically. Fight with everything you have out there. Stop him even if it means stopping me, too...
"He won't," Morrow taunted, "I can feel him holding back, even just a little. It's a bit pathetic, wouldn't you say? Can't stand to see the downfall of your home at the hands of a ghost, but can't possibly hit your family for the cause," Morrow broke down into cackles again.
"No one ever wants to hit another without reason," I snorted, closing my eyes for a split second. We were high up, taunting Lloyd who was still on the docks. I shuddered and opened my eyes again... heights... ew. "Especially hitting someone who shares blood."
"You're all the same," Morro grit out, seeming slightly out of it, "Self righteous. Too good to do any dirty work."
"I suppose multitasking both in here and out there is tiresome on the mind," I mused, "Right?"
The outside was playing in the back of mind like a bad nightmare burned on the backs of my eyelids. Ghosts, fights. A flying building, and Lloyd in danger from Morro's wind -- and, sadly, my water.
I really did hate how he had control over both our powers.
"Leave Lloyd alone!" I shouted. Honestly, I had no idea what was going on. Talking with the bastard wasn't going to buy Lloyd any time to get the crystal from my grimy hands.
I didn't let Morro answer my demand, instead running forward to football tackle him on his back. I laid in a couple punches before being kicked in the gut and sent flying.
That should do the trick.
He got up and kicked at me, slow enough to give me some time to dodge it, "Your kicks are weak," I taunted.
Morro growled and swung, nailing me right in my freaking ear. It had me staggering backwards, not quite able to watch what was in front of me. Ribs, shoulder, jaw and finally a knock to my stomach had my sprawled on my back gasping for breath.
Morro was standing over me, "You Garmadon's are so tiresome. Thank God your father's been disposed of or he'd be here getting in my way too."
Dad? "What--" I struggled to take a deep breath, "What did you do with my father?!"
Morro rocked back on his heels as he spoke, and it gave me a chance to prop myself upright on my elbows. He had such a lofty aire to his voice, "How do you think I got back from the Cursed Realm? Just a walk through a door? A simple wish? No. It wasn't a stroll through the park, it was a lot of dealing and bargaining and just a simple traded spot with dear old dad."
My heart dropped, "That's why he hasn't been around..."
"And no one else told you, did they?" he snickered at me, "Always got to be protecting the weak one." he kicked me hard in the face, and I think my nose was broke now.
There was definitely a lot of blood pouring down my face, and some down the back of my throat, "You fucker..."
He grinned happily at me, "I can hear your heart pounding from up here. Have I hit a nerve?"
My heart indeed was pounding, and I was crawling back until I was a safe enough distance away to climb to my feet. But it wasn't nerves, anymore, that were making my heart pound. I was absolutely livid, now, and I was shaking because of it, "You... have been getting on every single last one of my fucking nerves! You possess my brother, you backhandedly turn one of my friends into a ghost. You gave my father a death sentence," with every point I listed, I was striding towards him, shaking more with every step.
And with every step I took, Morro was backing away, "And you've taken away my mind and my bodily control. And I am absolutely sick of it!" I shouted, clenching my fists.
I couldn't understand why he looked so frightened of me all of a sudden. I couldn't understand it, but I didn't really care because he was scared and running from me so I finally had the upper hand.
And I leapt feet first at him.
A/N: Any ideas why Morro's so shook? *eyebrow wiggle* This next part is the part I gotta think looooong n' hard about to give y'all the best version I can offer
It's just hard to do when I think in little movies and suck at describing them
