Say it isn't so

Workers were scattered throughout the sanctuary to ensure that all the gates were secured.

"What reasoning would someone have to keep doing all this crap?" Zach asked Doug as they secured the plains' gates.

"I dunno dude. But someone is seriously crazed. Probably got some crazy activist or somethin'."Zach just looked at him.

"Well not everyone believes these dinosaurs should have resurrected." Doug told him. "You know that."

"Yeah but it's not like they have to be out here experiencing it. If they don't like it they could just ignore it right?"

"When have you ever seen a situation where a group of people didn't like something and just ignored it?" Doug asked.

"But to go through all this trouble?"

"Little dude, there are some crazy SOB's out there and they hide themselves very well."

"This island is cursed, I'm telling you." Malcolm said. Keira looked over at him as everyone else glared at him.

"What?" he sat forward. "How many incidents does this island need to have before everyone wakes up and smells the coffee?"

"All the mistakes are human made." Keira said. "It's not the dinosaurs fault."

"I didn't say it was sweetheart." Malcolm said with a sarcastic tone. "The problem is, something like this can never work out. Dinosaurs are extinct for a reason. We should have taken a hint the first time John Hammond attempted this."

"The sanctuary is fine without people trying to mess with it."

"You're always going to have people messing with it, kid. Join me back in reality, here."

Keira glared at him with her fists clenched by her side before she left the Bungalow.Alan looked at Malcolm placing a finger in his face ready to say something but instead left without a word following his doctor.

"You're an asshole, you know that?" Owen said before walking out.

"The truth hurts!" Malcolm called after them.Ellie got in the man's face.

"For once Ian, would it kill you to just shut the hell up?"

Keira stood outside the Bungalow with her hands on her hips trying to compose herself.

"Hey sweetheart, don't listen to him." Alan said behind her.

"Yeah, Malcolm's can be an ass, you know that." Owen added.

"What if he's right?" Keira said turning to them. "Bad things keep happening on this island no matter who runs it."

"Keira, you and Owen have done a damn good job keeping this place running. So you hit a few snags, each time you guys prevail."

"But how long can that last? How many times are we going to have to fight to keep this place going?"

"Don't talk like that Keira." Owen said. "You're just upset."

"But it's true. All these unfortunate events-"

"Stop!" Alan said. She closed her mouth. "Now you listen to me. I used to be the top contender to get this island shut down. You know that. But after seeing the things that you and Owen have done for this place...this is John's dream come to reality. Not those parks. He wanted people to see and understand the dinosaurs. He wanted people to learn. And people are. Your webcams are being watched in classrooms all over the world from middle schools to Ivy League Universities. And you didn't get there by doubting yourself." he told her.

"You have a passion for these animals that exceeds anything that I've ever seen and that includes your mother's love for plants. Which is saying a lot. You going to run into problems. Everyone experiences it. The difference between you and other people is you don't give up. You didn't give up as a kid and you better not start now."Alan pulled his daughter into a hug."You have a lot of stress on you right now. I know. But you have something most people don't."

"What's that?" she asked.

"That man, right there." he said looking over at Owen who smiled at her.

"I'm not going anywhere Grant, no matter how crazy things get on this island." he said walking over. "I want to marry you because I want to spend the rest of my life with you, here, working. We can get through any kink as long as we do it together. We'll get to the bottom of this."

"The poor dear." Mrs. Grady said watching her son hold Keira outside in the yard as Alan came back in.

"Is she okay?" Ellie asked.

He nodded. "I think so. Just had to get her mind back on the right track, no thanks to someone." he looked to Malcolm.

"Look I wasn't trying to hurt your daughter's feelings Grant-"

"And you did so well." Alan snapped.

"I was trying to point out that-"

"We get it." Alan said. "Your chaos theory, blah blah blah, I'll be the first to admit I didn't like the idea of this place either, I didn't want Keira to come out here, but it's not the same place anymore Malcolm. So put your prejudices aside and if you can't just keep quiet. They can handle this. They've seen a hell of a lot more than we have on this island."

"Lowery." Keira said coming into the control room making him jump in his seat.

"I need all the log ins of everyone logging in throughout the park. I want the log in from the carnivore territory, the plains, the raptor paddock and the main building." she said.

"Uh y-y-yeah." he said.

With her stern expression, it was like Alan Grant was standing before him demanding the log in sheets.Once they were printed out, Keira took them back to the Bungalow and sat at the kitchen table with Owen going over every single log in from the last six months.

"We're going to be here all night." he yawned after a couple of hours.

"You can go to bed." she told him.

"No, I'm going to help until we figure something out." he grabbed her hand in his and rubbed his thumb over it. "I just need some coffee."

It was two-thirty in the morning when Keira suddenly arose holding two sheets of paper in her hands."

What?" Owen asked waking up fully from his sleepy daze.

"It doesn't make sense." she said.

"What?"

"Look." she pointed at several log ins. Owen's eyes widened.

 "Lowery?"
