[14] Pinned down
"I'm telling you Billie- one day I'm gonna fucking run away from this place. That woman- I have to call her mom. And she's driving me insane." I told him sat on my back in bed on call to him. It was night, I had got my daily screaming at for whatever it was wrong I did today. And I could feel myself close to the edge.
I wasn't there quite yet, but I'm awfully close.
"Things are that bad?" He asked.
I nodded my head forgetting he was only partially here, and that was on the phone. "Yeah, they are."
"Well, where would you go? If you ran away,"
"I'd save up first. Get the money for transport. Then I'd pack my bags and leave. I'd take coach after coach just riding on an empty vehicle in the night until I end up in another town that's hours away. My friend, she lives there. We don't keep touch an awful lot but she let me know if I was ever to go anywhere- she would put a roof over my head regardless. And after that... I'd change my phone number. So no one could get hold of me, and I'd start a new life."
He was silent on the phone. And I waited a moment or two wondering if he was still actually there. Maybe he ended it without me realizing? But after checking mine the less he was there. Just being quiet.
"Billie Joe?"
"You said that whole thing like you'd been over and over the plan a million and one times before," He finally told me.
I couldn't express how much I hated being confined in a household with such strict and stupid rules. Shoving you on to a path you don't wanna go on. Down a road y'know you don't wanna go down. "That's because I have,"
"But... you'd remember my number wouldn't you?" He asked... sort of worrying a little.
I chuckled lightly at the worry in his voice. "Of course I will," I answered sweetly. Smiling to myself. "Yours probably being the only one."
"What about Mae? And Layla and Kennedy?"
"I love them. I love them to death, but when I tell them about how I want leave they just sort of say it's stupid. So if I did I'd constantly have them nag at me. But maybe one day in the future I'll find their numbers in a phone book and ask them how their life went,"
"I understand, so this whole running away thing. Is this a definite plan or more of a hopeful dream of yours?" He asked. I wondered about asking him where he was. Because by the sounds of it I heard wind blowing and occasional cars drive by. But his question distracted me.
"Right now? A hopeful dream. But I'm close to making it become my plan. There will be that last straw that pushes me to make it my plan. And when I do, I'll waste no time putting it into action." I told him honestly.
"I'm sorry your mom and dad are jerks," He sighed.
"It's not your fault they're ass holes. It's theirs. I'll get through it one way or another," I said to him, trying to become a little more positive. Although being a positive person was never really my forte.
"Good thing you're thinking positively,"
"Why?"
"I'm outside, just thought maybe you could use a little company of someone who isn't as much as a jerk."
I got up off of my bed confused before opening the curtains to look through the window which was on the side of the house. I opened the window and looked down squinting my eyes to see Billie Joe waving up at me.
A slight giggle left my lips seeing him. "Did you really reckon I could use the company or was it you missed me?" I asked him on the phone looking down at him, with his phone to his ear before he answered.
"Alright maybe I did miss you- so what?"
I laughed quietly ending the call as I looked down at him. "Wanting to come inside?"
"Are you crazy? What if your mom comes in?"
"I have a lock dumbass. Just climb up these pipes. They're pretty strong I've done it a million times before," I instructed to him slapping the pipes as I leaned half out my window.
He nodded as he began to climb them and I leaned back inside, before giving him a hand and pulling him through.
He managed to climb in, as I shut the window stopping the draft that was also entering my once warm room. And locked my bedroom door to ensure my mom couldn't walk in uninvited.
"Miss me huh?" I smirked to him as he sat himself on the side of my bed catching his breath. As I crossed my arms waiting for a response.
He nodded trying to smile before being able to talk. "Maybe, can I have a kiss?"
I couldn't help but smile as I kept my arms crossed over my chest. And rolled my eyes grinning, "I told you not to get used to that,"
"And as I recall I said no promises," He beamed back.
"I'm not gonna start kissing you every time I see you," I told him sort of serious as I sat beside him on my bed.
"What? Why!" He whined.
"We aren't even... together Billie. We're friends, friends don't kiss,"
He sniggered. "They do when they're drunk."
"Well, I'm not drunk,"
"Who said I'm not?"
"Just give up with it Billie Joe, I'm not kissing you,"
"Alright then," He smiled. Looking awfully happy to say I said I wouldn't kiss him.
"Why are you smiling at me like that?" I questioned.
"Looks like I'll just have to kiss you,"
"Billie!" I squealed as he playfully tackled me down on my bed. I giggled hysterically as he grabbed both my wrists and held them down restraining me from moving as he sat on top of me on my bed.
"This position is starting to become awful familiar to say we don't date huh?" He smirked to me, still holding me down as I stopped laughing. I felt my face heat up quickly as I looked away from his eyes and answered him.
"Y-yeah but- I- that's- it's-"
"-Are you going anywhere with that?"
"Why?"
"Well, I'm wondering if you're gonna say anything important or if I can save us both the time and kiss you,"
"I guess it's not going anywhere no," I signed finally looking back at him, still seeing the smug look on his face.
"So can I kiss you?"
"I guess so," I smiled acting as if I wasn't happy about it.
His smirk turned to a crooked grin as he leaned down, his hands still beside my head restricting mine, and connected his lips with mine.
I felt his hair tickle against my forehead as we kissed and for a moment I think we both forgot where we were.
The kiss was sort of heated, and there were definitely intentions of going further. I could taste it, but my arms were still being pinned down.
"Billie," I mumbled into the kiss pushing my head into the mattress as he realized. He sat back up looking at me confused.
"Yeah? Are you okay? Did I do something-"
"-No," I cut him off laughing slightly. "You've still got me in a pin hold,"
"Don't you like it?" He asked, the right corner of his lips lifting up in another famous smirk of his.
"How's this suppose to go anywhere else when you're restricting me?" I asked him, but immediately regretting the words as soon as they left my mouth. He looked down at me shocked by what I said as the smile on my face dropped off and the heat passing through my body and filling my cheeks.
"What was that?"
"Nothing," I answered quickly, pulling my arms fee from his grasps since he wasn't focusing on keeping me pinned. I got up from under him as he got off me and began to laugh as I sat down over on my bean bag a bright shade of crimson red.
I hid the bottom half of my face pulling the head hole of my shirt just under my nose awkwardly sat looking at the floor. I tended to do that when I was embarrassed. Which was weird, I don't know why I felt the need to hide my mouth with my shirt.
"You wanted it to go further huh?"
I ignored him. I did not have a leg to stand on, did I?
"Awww don't be embarrassed," He chuckled sitting back on the end of my bed. He rested his arms on his thighs as he stared at me.
"Shut up," I mumbled through the fabric of my shirt. Still dodging to look at him.
I didn't look at him for a large moment. But what was odd was the fact that he actually did shut up after I told him to. Being confused I flickered my eyes away from the floor and directed them over to where he sat.
And there he was, resting his chin on the palm of his hand which was up right balancing on his knee. A little smile drew on his lips.
"What are you doing?" I asked defensively after letting go of the fabric of my shirt and letting it drop round back to where it originally was.
"Admiring you," He casually answered. Showing no intentions to stop.
And once again, my face flushed as I carried on to question him. "Why?"
"Because I think you're cute when you do that,"
"Do what?"
"Go all red and embarrassed. You get so nervous easily I think it's adorable,"
"Oh shut up."
"You're still doing it," He laughed picking his head up from off his hand.
"It is your fault," I grumbled. "I never normally get embarrassed."
"Really? Could've fooled me," He teased
I sighed before getting up to my feet and sitting beside him on my bed. Throwing myself back and landing on the fluffy quilt I always lay over my bed. After a moment or two, Billie copied me also falling back beside me as we laid on our backs. We both budged up a bit so our heads Were sinking in the many of pillows I kept at the top of my bed.
"Your mom hasn't seemed to even check up on you," He commented turning his head and looking over at me.
I did the same to him. "She doesn't care,"
"Why not?"
"Its kinda like a 'my way or the high way,' thing. If it's not her way I'm going, it's the high way. And the highway is pretty dangerous. And metaphorically she would be the truck that runs me down."
"You have an interesting way of looking at things," He observed. "I like it,"
"So do you."
"But to say you've never been drunk or high before you sure seem like you are half the time."
"Not true,"
"How come you'll smoke cigarettes but not weed? Or drink?" He asked changing subjects pretty quickly.
"I don't know. I guess I've never surrounded myself with people who are lightly to pull out a joint or pack of beers."
"But don't you wanna try it? Y'know to see what all the funs all about?"
"Sure I do,"
"Then why don't you?"
"I swear I've explained this to you before,"
"You probably have. But I was probably a few beers down the line and might have forgotten." He innocently smiled. His face was rather close to mine.
"Because if my mom ever found out I would be slaughtered like an animal."
"You should come to Mike's party tomorrow night."
"Like my mom would let me," I sniggered.
"Then lie to her like you always do. C'mon! it'll be super fun and I'll make sure you're home safe! Mae is coming!" He practically begged.
"No,"
Then he displayed the puppy eyes battering his eyelashes as he pleaded again. "Please," He asked me. Like a child, so it came out produced more like a 'pwease,' then 'please,'.
Maybe it would be fun.
What do I have to lose anyway? The women hates me already.
"Alright then,"
"Really?" He asked shocked as he lifted up his eyebrows and sat up.
I nodded also sitting up. Before he pulled me into a tight hug and thanked me repeatedly. "You'll love it so much I promise! I'll look after you and make sure you're safe, I won't let you out of my sight,"
"You don't anyway,"
