Okay so there are some things that different from mortals to deities. Hopefully, this helps explain things. 

1) Firstly deities have a particular scent to them

- Hades smells like smoke and leather

-Persephone smells like apples and smoke

-Melinoe smells like vanilla and creme

2) Deities don't have normal reproductive cycles: Think heats/ruts

- Pheromones are huge

- Nesting does occur

- If a partner is human, they can have a "sympathy" heat/rut

3) Nesting

- Nests are personal, private, and nearly sacred

- Only made when sick, upset, scared, pregnant or in heat

- Give your mate stuff to scent

- DO NOT MESS UP THE NEST

4) Scenting

- used to calm/soothe

- bitter means angry/sad/scared

- Claiming thing
