037.

WEEKS LATER, Lana sat with Wanda in a coffee shop as they surveyed the area. She had fun in her time off but now it was back to work as the world needed the Avengers once more.

She still hadn't told anyone about her episode and she wasn't going to any time soon. It had happened again, luckily she was at home and no one saw, as she had mainly controlled it. She wasn't going to say anything until she got it fully controlled.

She watched as Wanda stirred her coffee before tapping the spoon on the side and taking a sip.

The younger girl looked around, "Don't make it so obvious. Subtle," Lana instructed. Wanda followed her orders and glanced around carefully, "Good."

"All right what do you see?" Steve asked over the comms.

"Standard beat cops. Small station. Quiet street. It's a good target," Wanda replied.

"There's an ATM on the south corner, which means?"

"Cameras," Wanda answered.

"Good," Lana praised.

"Both cross streets are one-way."

"So compromised escape routes."

"Means our guy doesn't care about being seen. He isn't afraid to make a mess on the way out. You see that Range Rover halfway up the block?"

"Yeah, the red one? It's cute," Wanda commented.

"It is isn't it. I really want one," Lana added.

"It's also bulletproof," Natasha but in.

"Even more reason to get one," Lana shrugged.

"Which means private security... which means more guns... which means more headaches for somebody. Probably us," Natasha said.

Lana rolled her eyes, "Thanks Nat for your wonderful commentary," she subtly glanced at her sister across the outdoor coffee shop.

"You guys know we can move things with our minds right?" Wanda questioned.

"Looking over your shoulder needs to become second nature," Natasha replied causing Wanda to look at her.

"Anybody, ever tell you you're a little paranoid?" Sam asked.

"Not to my face. Why did you hear something? Lana?" Natasha asked.

"I just told him you're uptight," Lana replied.

"Eyes on the target folks," Steve said, "This is the best lead we've had on Rumlow in six months. I don't want to lose him."

Sam scoffed, "If he sees us coming that won't be a problem. He kinda hates us."

It was quiet for a moment before Steve spoke, "Sam... you see that garbage truck? Tag it."

"That truck's loaded for max weight. And the driver's armed," Sam replied.

"It's a battering ram," Natasha guessed.

"Go now," Steve ordered.

Wanda panicked, "What?"

"He's not hitting the police," Steve said.

Lana stood as a crash was heard down the road. She glanced at Natasha and the two took off.

"Body armour, AR-15s," Steve stated, "I make seven hostiles."

Lana blasted herself into the air and landed by a few of the masked men. They shot at her and she held up her hand. The bullets stopped and she flicked them away.

They dropped the guns and ran at her. She dropped down and swept the leg from out underneath one and placed her and on his forehead.

"Sleep."

It was a neat trick she had learnt a while ago. Extending her telepathy to control the minds of others. She hated using it but it came in handy.

She looked at the others, "You're a witch," one spat.

"That's a new one," Lana nodded. She flicked her wrist and he flew into a pillar.

Then another ran towards her and they started fighting. She rose into the air and started pulling up the ground underneath the man. He tripped and fell backwards, hitting his head on the concrete. As she descended a man tried to hit her with his gun.

She turned and placed her hand on his head and he disintegrated to ash.

"Shit," she muttered. She used her telekinesis to blow it away. She acted as though she hadn't just murdered someone by accident and advanced towards Sam and Wanda

"Rumlow's on the third floor," Sam stated.

Steve walked up, "Wanda, Lana, just like we practised."

"What about the gas?"

"Get it out," was his reply before he started running towards the building. The two telekinetics lifted him and he crashed through the window.

Wanda and Lana directed the gas out of the building. It shattered the windows as it came towards them.

More masked men hid behind the abandoned trucks shooting at them. Sam shot back before using his wings as a shield. He tapped on his wristband and something behind them blew up.

The two women lifted the gas up and into the atmosphere to let it dissolve.

"Rumlow has a biological weapon," Steve said.

"I'm on it," Natasha replied.

A few moments later Steve's voice came through, "Sam. He's in an AFV heading north." Sam took off and so did the girls.

"I've got four they're splitting up," Sam informed.

Lana hovered over the market of screaming people. She saw Natasha ditch her bike, "I got the two on the left."

"They ditched their gear," Steve said, "It's a shell game now. One of them has the payload."

Lana saw two and flew at them. Sam had the same idea as they both crashed into the two guys.

She knocked one out and checked him, "He doesn't have it."

"Neither does he," Sam stated, "We're empty."

"Payload secure. Thanks, Sam," Natasha said.

"Don't thank me," Sam stated smugly.

"I'm not thanking that thing," Natasha denied.

"His name is Redwing," Sam insisted causing Lana to roll her eyes.

"I'm still not thanking it," Natasha said.

"He's cute. Go ahead, pet him," Sam chuckled.

Behind them, a building exploded.

"Steve? Wanda?"

"We need Fire and Rescue on the south side of the building. We gotta get up there," Steve said.

Lana ran towards the explosion and found Wanda in tears.

"It's ok, it's ok. It's not your fault," she hugged her and Wanda sobbed into her shoulder.
