What Do?
Every year he sits at the window his little eyes puffy and red from tears. He wanted to dress up and get tricks or treats like all the other kids his age. Alexander had a rare disease that made his bones break easily. They thought it was a calcium deficiency, although upon further tests and labs it was deemed much worse. Basically, little Alexander lives in a bubble unable to experience the joys of this world.
That was until his dad was fed up. Sitting in the kitchen two days before Halloween Alexander wheeled himself up to the table.
"Mommy... Daddy... I want to go trick or treating... please." His eyes were already filling with tears. Every year he got the same answer. He was seven years old now and all his friends were going to be out and about in their scary/cute costumes. Had to be apart of the excitement. His mother and father looked at each other. His mother's expression was that of guilt and sadness. Whereas his dad's displayed something else. Which made little Alexander's heart skip in hope that he could join the ghouls and witches.
"Baby... I don't..." His father scraped his chair back and ran from the kitchen disappearing into the garage. He would not appear again until that fateful day. His mother watched in shock and confusion. Quickly regaining her composure,
she smiled sweetly at him.
"Would you like some chocolate milk sweetheart." Alexander nodded with a grin, his eyes drifting towards the garage door when sound of a power tool went off. His mom looked over as well setting the milk in front of him.
"What do you think he is doing?" he asked curious.
"I... Maybe he has a new project for work."
Taking a sip of his milk he nodded then rolled out the kitchen to the living room.
On the day of Halloween his dad emerged from the garage dirt smeared on his face and overalls. But he was smiling the biggest smile Alexander had ever seen.
"Daddy?"
"Son... This year you will be BIONIC BOY!" His dad cheered holding out a small black cube. Alexander looked at it confused. It's sleek onyx metal gleaming at him urging him to pick it up. On the side there was a white circular button. He looked up at his dad with an eyebrow raised.
"What do?"
"Press it."
Alexander hesitated a little before pressing the button. Instantly it whizzed shooting out dark pixilated fabric with streaks of blue all over his tiny frame. Lifting him up in the air as it consumed his body. He squealed in terror and excitement. When he landed, he was standing for the first time in forever. A blue lens over his eyes and Bright neon blue 'B' on his chest. Moving his arms to look at the suit, He stopped short eyes bugging out in shock as he stared at his dad.
"I can go now?"
His father and mother both teared up nodding.
